Positive Daily Inspiration – April 7, 2022 – HARMONY WITH OTHER PEOPLE

“So far as it depends upon you, live peacefully with all.”
Romans 12:18

Sometimes, it may seem like our greatest difficulty lies in getting along with others. If you have a personality problem with someone, how can you keep serene? Sometimes this is in a close family.

What if this is a person that complains constantly, finds fault, and who seems resentful of you? What if this person misinterprets your words and actions?

You can’t control another person. If they choose to live in negativity, it is their own wrongful choice.

You have control of your own thoughts and reactions, and this is where you overcome personality problems. The other person may be difficult to get along with, but you can help to ease the disharmony by silently blessing them in prayer and asking God for strength not to lash out. You can also ask in prayer for the power to look past the personality to the God good within the person, to which you may be blind, at the present moment.

Like watching children on the playground, as a spiritual adult you do not take part or get sucked into the negativity.

I know of one woman who had such a personality conflict with a co-worker that she came into my office for repeated counseling. She consented in prayer one day to look past the personality idiosyncrasies and to see the God good in this other woman. She blessed this woman silently, instead of silently resisting and disliking her. Within a week, there was a noticeable change in their relationship. Within a month, they started laughing and talking together. Within a year, she was this woman’s best friend.

Sometimes the other person will change, and sometimes they won’t. They have free-will to accept or reject their good. But the main thing is, you have changed and are immune to the effects of the negativity.

As we keep our thoughts and feelings centered in the Christ Mind, we will no longer be upset by the other person’s words or actions. In blessing them, we bless ourselves, and the situation cannot help but be alleviated. We are not bound in personal consciousness. We can experience life and our relations with others in a higher way.

Today, you choose to be harmonizer.

In Matthew 5:9, our Bible states, “Blessed are the peacemakers.”

You are blessed directly by God as you consent to being a channel of perfect Divine love. You know that where a need exists for harmony, harmony begins with one person’s commitment to effect a change for good. Rather than dwelling on the inharmonious aspects of your relationship, you pray for understanding and patience. You develop an inward peace that manifests outwardly in gentle speech, assurance, and trust.

You know that you have the ability, through prayer, to take the steps that will lead to harmony and peace in your environment. You know that God’s goodness is ever present, helping you to give more love where it is needed. You do not let anything discourage your desire to be a harmonizer. You give no power to believe that any person or situation can disrupt the peace and harmony you seek.

You place the outcome in God’s hands.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Today, dear God, I choose to live in harmony.
I pray for harmony within myself.
I pray I rest in Your peace.
I pray that I am a harmonizer wherever I go.
I pray that when I find myself with negative people that I am protected by a spiritual force field that repels the negativity instead of allowing it in.
I pray that others only feel love from me.
I pray that I have the God-given energy do not allow relationship fatigue to ever take over.
I never answer in anger.
I never lash out.
I communicate, but I do so in a positive way.
