“Draw near to God and God will draw near to you.”
Beyond the windy trees of thought
In the valley of reflection
Amid the certitudes of spirit
And quietudes of soul,
Is the placid pool of prayer,
Where I may find myself
Alone with the Alone,
And one with the One,
May I lose my self.
Be still, all you windy thoughts
That blow through my mind,
And sit down with me
By prayer’s still waters.
-James Dillet Freeman
The first step in the realization of life is always to know that God is life, abundant, omnipresent, eternal; and the second step is to make positive connection with God by declaring your oneness with God.
Jesus Christ declared His oneness with the life and with God – the source of life – when He said, “I and the Father are one;” and “I am in the Father and the Father is in me.”
You follow Jesus by declaring your oneness with God, and your oneness with life. You realize that God is life, and that God is the one eternal source of all. You make connection with God, through prayer, and you see that the possibilities for expressing this life, for expressing the goodness of God are unlimited.
You draw upon the intelligence of God, available to you through prayer, and you are inspired with Divine ideas, ideas that reveal the way to live a fuller, richer life.
In the stillness of prayer, you relax and realize how much God cares.
In 1 Peter 5:7, our Bible states, “Cast all your anxieties on God, for God cares about you.”
Conditions and circumstances may, at times, seem to block your path, but there is always a solution; there is always an answer.
Through your awareness with God’s great power for good in your life, and your realization of God’s presence always with you, your way through any tangled maze is made clear. You can surmount any obstacle. You can overcome all seeming limitations. You can rise above feelings of fear or doubt.
God cares about you. God is with you always, and God’s presence constantly enfolds you. You are never without God’s guidance. Regardless of what your need may be or what situation faces you, you are never alone. You turn to God, in prayer, and experience the feeling of your oneness with God.
You rest in the assurance that God is your help in every need. Then, with the feeling of total trust, you follow the guidance that comes to you from God.
POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:
Dear God, teach me freedom,
As the Eagle which soars in the sky.
Dear God, teach me resignation,
As the leaves which die in the fall.
Dear God, teach me regeneration,
As the seed which rises in the spring.
Dear God, teach me to forget myself,
As melted snow forgets.
Dear God, teach me to remember kindness,
As dry fields weep with the rain.
In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen
