“Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.”
Psalm 24:3-5

Anything that stands in the way of your integrity will eventually bring you down. If you feel that something isn’t right, there’s a reason for that feeling – it’s because it isn’t right.

When you act against what you know to be true, what you know to be right, there is nothing of value to be gained. When you act against your own integrity, you are pushing yourself backwards.

If you seek to cheat others, you end up cheating yourself. Nothing that you take away from someone else can ever be of any lasting value to you. True value and richness come from authentically being yourself and giving of yourself. The more you give of your love, your effort, your time, attention, and creativity, the more real and fulfilling abundance you will experience.

Withholding yourself from life only holds you back from really living. It’s truly great to be who you are, so do it with zest and integrity. Why fight and argue over momentary pleasures when you can be moving toward lasting fulfillment? Choose not what is easiest or most expedient. Choose what is true, what is right, and you’ll be making the best choice for your life.

We are each in the school of life and one of the main courses we must learn is personal integrity. We are all continually graduating from something and moving on in our ever-progressing forward moving lives.

In the movie “The Dead Poets’ Society”, the professor played by Robin Williams tells his students, “Carpe Diem” which means to “seize the day.” As you move forward in life, do not wait for some imagined tomorrow to bring you your happiness. THIS DAY should be the best day that you have ever lived. It is true spiritual integrity to accept the gift of the day and fully live it. You’ve invested a lot to get here and you should not put off doing what you desire to do.Seizing the day to live higher in our integrity is very important to spiritual growth.

It has been said,

Small minds talk about people. Integrity always thinks and believes the best about others.

Average people talk about events. Integrity is not moved by the shifting sands of events, but is anchored in God.

Above average people talk about ideas. Spiritual people receive Divine ideas.

One of the most powerful ways to “seize the day” is to develop your mind. The ultimate way to do this is to give your mind to God. When you are strong in opinion – give your mind to God. When you are strong in anger – give your mind to God. When your human mind doesn’t know the way – give your mind to God. Have this mind in you that was also in Christ Jesus! Your human mind will be purified and absolutely in the integrity of the Divine.

In our Bible, in Philippians 4:8 it states, “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Don’t put God on hold, you were born for greatness.

A man visiting an old town asked at the visitor center, if there were any great people born there. The answer came back, “No, only babies were born here!”

No one was born great, but born for greatness.

Read these words from Proverbs as a meditative prayer and began to seize THIS day – My child, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to the person who finds them, and healing to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flows the springs of life. Put away from your crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from error. My child, be attentive to my wisdom, incline your ear to my understanding.
