Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“If a shepherd has 100 sheep … Does he not leave the 99 … And go in search of the one that went astray?”

This ministry is for and about prayer; not just to pray at you – but to pray WITH you.

This is what this time is for.

We human beings sometimes seem to like to do things the hard way.

Prayer makes life easy again.

Dear God, we have tried doing things the hard way. We now know that we are supposed to pray FIRST.

We now know that there is an easy way to meet every problem, circumstance and experience.

We let this happen. We don’t have to rush, push, or worry as long as we keep an open line in our minds and in our consciousness to You, dear God.

Prayer can not only make it happen, but is making it happen ALL the time.

We connect with God’s presence and power now. We relax, and we let it happen.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

In this moment, dear God, may we see life from the spiritual point of view.

We believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We accept the basic premise that there is a Divine intelligence; the life energy that creates and sustains and dwells in all there is.

We know that God is not static. God is dynamic. God is ever-active and ever-flowing in our lives now.

Dear God, You are a flowing presence and power, flowing through ALL the beauty we see – the trees and grass, flowing through the birds that wing their way to new vistas.

The life and power of God are flowing through you now in your life this moment.

We are a part of God’s wholeness and perfection. Our life is not fragmented.

There is a wholeness and harmonious outworking of all things.

There is a perfect timing.

There is a perfect order.

We relax and let the energy, and wholeness of God flow through us.

We wait for God in the silence of prayer …

(Silence)

God is in charge.

God is never late.

We cease trying to figure out how things should work out.

We know there is a way.

With God THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY!

We turn to God and let the power and love of God flow through us.

We find our path of soul unfoldment. We find it is a joyous path. We let it happen.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Through the power of the spoken word, I decree for you today as you strive for success:

YOU LET GO AND BECOME AWARE OF GOD’S SPIRIT WITH YOU. YOU ARE INSPIRED AND GUIDED TO YOUR GOOD.

You are filled with the power of God. You have new energy and new vitality to meet your good when it comes.

Inspired by God, you are able to go forth with greater creativity than ever before.

You are guided every moment of the way onto a new and higher path filled with joy instead of obstacles.

We pray today, knowing this to be true. We fill ourselves with the presence of God and then we let it pour forth.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We are serving God by becoming points of light going into our world.

We are letting our light shine.

And in letting our light shine, we are joyous creations of God Almighty.

Thank you, God.

Happy New Year 2024

Prayer for the New Year

“The word of God is living and active.”
Hebrews 4:12

We pray together for confidence in our God-given life. We pray there will be a great movement, like a giant wave of prosperity covering all. Based in the security of God and out-picturing in the security of our savings.

The best is yet to be.

2024 will be a year of great employment and advancement.
2024 will be a year of increasing home warmth and joy.
2024 will be a year of growth spiritually and outwardly.
The government of God governs and provides continuously for us all.

We pray the prosperity of 2024 will be at flood tide. That is a wonderful biblical statement of how flood can come, and cover drought stricken areas, giving new life and growth.

2024 is the year of renewal, personal, and worldwide. We pray that the path that we go down is filled with glorious, splendid adventure that makes the investment of the year of our lives worthwhile. We retain what is good, and add to our lives what is needed, we will eliminate what is no longer serving our best purpose.

We walk with God. God is unaffected by the past, unaffected by the setbacks, unaffected by ill health, God is perfection itself and our association with God wears off upon us giving us new power.

We are open in 2024 to unexplainable miracles. Everything works out even better than we can imagine. We now stockpile our spiritual faith, accumulating for future use as needed. We pray for a new excitement, anticipation, and positive energy that continually expect the best. We decree that this will be a year of great accomplishment. We decree that this will be a year of increased love, both given and received. The flow of our lives moves in 2024. The logjams of the past are broken up. Blockages are removed with God’s help. This is a year of personal forward movement.

This is a year of calm, and peace as I move forward in God’s footprints. I now place all concerns in God’s ever abiding care. This is a year of loyalty to principles, for in so doing I will realize my long sought after manifest dreams.

This is the year where I will spiritually shop for new gifts, for God’s counters are full. In 2024, as never before, this is a time when I accept my good. I continue to do so without restraint. This is the year where my soul will bloom. New expression will unfold through me from God. This will be beautiful for all to behold and wonderful to experience myself. The multifaceted gifts of God will bloom in an array of a banquet of new talent, possibility, and expression. God’s path before me is wide and broad. I will not miss or overlook the new good coming to me.

2024 is a year of understanding, with a depth of wisdom that is continuously given from the Mind of God.

I value my God-given abilities, and therefore I value myself for what God has invested in me.

Others are willing to reward me for who I am becoming because they can easily perceive the gifts of God expressed. 2024 is a year where I make it happen, because God makes it happen through me. This is a year of non-stagnant career growth.

I am more than the sum total of my past, because of my spiritual connections.
I know that I can do anything because God can do anything through me.
I am not limited; I am not held back by my past.
I am not defined by yesterday.
My worth is not in my resume; my worth is in my soul.
Every lesson I have learned I now invest into myself for my future.
I am constantly changing and evolving into a better human being out-picturing from the spirituality within my soul.

This is the year for I have God’s continuous protection.

The speed limit of my life has been lifted. The altitude is endless, because my attitude is complete in God. Only green lights and open doors are ahead of me. Nothing is rusted, nothing is decayed, everything is fresh, and new.

This is truly a God-given fresh start.

I have new confidence in 2024. Every day that I walk through, I will know that everything will be all right, and with God’s help more than all right – better than ever before!

Happy New Year’s Eve

You have lived, and invested, your whole life to get to this point – live well my friend. Happy New Year! – Chris Chenoweth

I first heard of Janus when I was in the tenth grade during a welcome-back address from our vice principal after the Christmas break. Considered the God of Gates and Doors, this Roman god lent his name to the month of January and had a rather unusual appearance. He was depicted with a double-faced head, each looking in opposite directions. It is believed that he was depicted in this fashion because of the notion that gates, and doors look in two directions. In this way, one of his faces was able to look backwards while the other looked forward, representing Janus’s contemplation of the happenings of the old year while looking forward to the new one.

A time of celebration

We all possess the dual-face characteristic of this ancient Roman god. It is a quality I wholeheartedly endorse. As we close out the old year with family gatherings and festivities, we usually spend time musing over the happenings of the past year, while considering the paths that we want our lives to take in the coming one. The end of the year is primarily about celebrating. And while it is fitting to celebrate the season, you should also take time out to celebrate all the hard work you put into attaining the goals you set over the past year. And if, for whatever reason, the year did not turn out as well as you anticipated, you should still celebrate the small victories you enjoyed along the way.

A time for contemplation

Although this is something that should be done throughout the entire year, this is the time of year when traditionally, most people give thought to the direction they want their lives to take over the next twelve months. They contemplate the goals they want to achieve, the lives they want to impact, the personal relationships they need to cultivate, the business contacts they need to establish, the changes they need to embrace, and ultimately the person they must become in order to make it all happen.

A time for new beginnings

In his role as the Guardian of exits and entrances, Janus was also believed to represent beginnings. He was frequently used to symbolize change and transitions. These include the progression of the past to the future; the transition from one condition to another, or of one vision to another. He was worshipped at the beginning of the harvest time, planting, marriage, birth, and other types of beginnings, especially the beginnings of important events in a person’s life.

You play an even more significant role in your life because, in addition to representing new beginnings in your life, consciously and subconsciously, you are also the creator of the events in your life.

Not only on January 1st, but every single day of the year. Janus could observe the happenings on either side of the gate, but I am sure you would agree that he was powerless to affect the change necessary to ensure the future would be different from the past. Unlike Janus however, you have a mind that allows you to recall events from the past, analyze them in the present, and project them in the future.

This means that through this incredible endowment, you have the ability to observe your life – not just like a historian or a fortune teller – but like a sculptor, through vision and painstaking work, sculpting a life of your design.

A time for self-evaluation

As you emerge through the door or gate of the old year to enter the new one, do so through a process of self-evaluation. Don’t rest on your laurels. Refuse to be complacent, for that will only breed failure. Rather, seek ways in which you can improve your level of effectiveness.

Here are some questions that may help:

What habits did you develop over the past year that served you well?

What habits do you have now that do not support the goals and aspirations you have this year?

What was the biggest challenge you overcame last year?

What was your biggest setback(s)?

What lessons did you learn from it (them)?

Awake awareness of God’s help in you, and start planting the seeds that will help you to create an abundant harvest – and a new beginning.

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and knew it was time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided to do something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day.

He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you.”

The children were shocked, but the emperor continued. “I am going to give each one of you a seed today – one very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor.”

One boy, named Ling, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it, carefully. Every day, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown.

After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Ling kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by. Still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Ling didn’t have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by – still nothing in Ling’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn’t say anything to his friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling told his mother that he wasn’t going to take an empty pot, but his mother asked him to be honest about what happened.

Ling felt sick at his stomach, but he knew his mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace. When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful – in all shapes and sizes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the other children laughed at him. A few felt sorry for him and just said, “Hey, nice try.”

When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people. Ling just tried to hide in the back. “My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown,” said the emperor. “Today one of you will be appointed the next emperor!”

All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was terrified. He thought, “The emperor knows I’m a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!”

When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name. “My name is Ling,” he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, “Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!” Ling couldn’t believe it. Ling couldn’t even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?

Then the emperor said, “One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds that would not grow. All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers.

“When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new emperor!”

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust.

If you plant goodness, you will reap friends.

If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.

If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.

If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.

If you plant hard work, you will reap success.

If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.

If you plant openness, you will reap intimacy.

If you plant patience, you will reap improvements.

If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.

So be careful what you plant now, it will determine what you will reap tomorrow. The seeds you now scatter will make life worse or better for you or for the ones who will come after you. Someday you will enjoy the fruits, or you will pay for the choices you make.

With God’s ever-present help your life is full steam ahead, with the destination of good. God is more powerful than temporal problems.

You can do ALL things with God’s help.

Someone once said that there are three kinds of people found within the walls of the church, first there are rowboat people. They are all pulling with all their strength at the oars as they try to row up the stream. They make some progress. But it is difficult going against the current.

In their effort to row upstream, they get all worn out.

Second, there are sailboat people. Given the right winds, the right kind of environment, their sails are full and ready to travel for God. For a time everything is wonderful. But when the wind stops blowing, the boat stops sailing and begins drifting. These people often get depressed and do not amount to much in the grand scheme of the great work of God, until a new wind blowing in the right direction comes along.

Third, there are Steamboat people. The Steamboat does not care about the current. It does not care about the wind. It is powered by the fire and water that turns the great propellers and moves it to its destination, regardless of wind or weather.

It is only when we allow God to come to the center of our lives and take control can we be a Steamboat person.

In Milan, Italy, a city known for its art, there is an impressive cathedral that has some significant words inscribed around its entrance. To the right of the door is a sculptured wreath of roses. Underneath it says: “All that pleases us is only for a moment.” On the left is a sculptured Cross of thorns with these words beneath: “All that troubles us is only for a moment.” Over-the-top are the words, “Nothing is important but that which is eternal.”

You are connected to an eternal God. God is more powerful than your temporal problems. With God’s help, you can do all things.

What possibilities does the future hold for you, or for the church that you work within?

The thing that we know for certain is that God is in charge. The only limitations on our possibilities come from our own imagination.

God can take ordinary people and make them extraordinary. Take, for instance, an ordinary piece of charcoal. Who would ever imagine, just by looking at it, that with time and with the force of nature, a shiny black lump could become a shimmering, exquisite diamond? Or consider a caterpillar: Do you see an ordinary bug, or do you look past that to see the beautiful butterfly it will become, free from the restraints it once had and be able to soar?

With God’s help we look beyond what seems to be reality and behold the possibilities of God splendor at work!

Life is attitude. Decide to be optimistic in 2024 and you will attract the manifestation of your dreams instead of repelling them.

You may wonder how you can be optimistic when you are facing issues, situations, and problems in your life to which you do not yet know a solution.

You can remain optimistic as you replace any feeling of discouragement or frustration with a positive faith in God. Follow God by having a positive outlook. Then you can expect and accept the best possible outcomes to your prayers.

Being optimistic, you are open and receptive to God’s good. You are prepared to receive the good from God that you seek. You trust God completely in the unfoldment of your life’s dreams.

Because you are optimistic about life, you consider events and people in the best possible light. As you remain optimistic, you encourage yourself and others to be the best that we all can be. As you choose a positive attitude, you free yourself to adopt a fresh outlook on life. You are able to release what has been, so that you can accept what can be.

Optimism is the outward expression you give to your expectancy of good from God held within.

In our Bible, in 1 Peter 5:7, it states: “Cast all your anxieties on God, for God cares about you.”

To hold on to the idea that all things are working together for your highest good frees you from feelings of the past and current worry and anxiety. This truth enables you to truly let go of doubt and to focus your whole attention on the power of God. God is with you this present moment.

In the present moment, you may not be able to see just how God’s good is going to work out some problem, but you can trust in God, knowing that God always works in your behalf, for good.

God always works for your good and for the good of others. But you have to do your part in being able to fully accept the good God has for you.

Your part is to let go of the negative, to keep your thoughts positive and faith-filled, and to do all you can do to make each day a day productive of God-directed efforts.

In this way, you actively cooperate in a positive partnership with God.

All things are working together for your highest good – with God!

God’s bounty is available to everyone not just a few. You are led to the open door of new outlets of abundance. In faith you are led to a new era in your life of infinite possibility.

God’s bounty is an infinite supply of good that is always available to you. God’s prosperity manifests in your life as you remain open and receptive to God’s bounty of good.

How do you perceive God’s abundance in your life, right now? Perhaps it is expressing as the freedom and the time to pursue new interests. Or it may be experiencing renewed health and joyous well-being. As you give thanks for an ever-increasing flow of God’s good, you open the door to new experiences and new outlets for the expression of your prosperity.

If greater income is the goal that you seek, then you are alert to, and follow through, on the ways and means that increased income can come to you. Your highest good is continually unfolding and enriching your life. It is with great joy and willingness, this day, that you make use of and share the good that you already have from God.

As Jesus said, you are a child of God, an heir to the good of God. Like an unopened bud, you are also filled with untapped potential that is waiting to be manifest.

You have within you the God-given potential to become what you dream of becoming. You have within you the God-given potential of the power to be. You have within you the God-given potential of enthusiasm to enjoy, as well as the wisdom to express.

Infinite possibilities lie within you and can be encouraged, developed, and manifested for good. God will make you strong in this quest. You fulfill your potential as you allow God’s guidance to pilot your thoughts, and God’s direction to guide your life.

As you unfold spiritually, you find yourself expressing your God-given ability to be whatever you most desire to be.

In the Bible, it says in Zachariah 10:12, “I will make them strong in the Lord and they shall glory in his name, says the Lord.”

This day, you are aglow with the light of God shining through you. The power of God is at work in your life manifesting good. You are unfolding, growing, and succeeding as you use of the unlimited potential that God has given you.

“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.”
Psalms 36:9

In your awareness, I ask you to become one with that wondrous Presence of God.

God is with you now.

Surrounding you and within you. You and God are one.

I would like you to meditate on that Truth. YOU AND GOD ARE ONE. You are not separate. You are one with all Power, one with the Perfect one who does not know imperfection of any kind.

You and God are one.

I ask you to bathe your human sorrows in this awareness of God. Bathe your worries and bathe your lost hope. God is with you, cleansing, renewing, bringing a Grace to your life. God is here to help you–an immediate God for an immediate solution.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

God is love. And you feel God’s mighty love working within you, bathing your mind, soothing it. You feel God’s love in the very core of your being. God is a giving God. God is giving to you constantly. During this meditation, you open your mind and heart and say, “Dear God, I accept. I consent to You. I consent to oneness. I consent to an infilling in my awareness.” You and God are one.

Meditate on this idea in the silence of prayer …

Sweet, continuous communion with God is happening here. A common-union with God is happening here. This prayer time is going to continue far beyond this prayer time.

This is just the beginning for your day. It is the starting point. As a great horse leaves the starting gate, you leave, gaining speed in your prayer awareness. You will not know sorrow today. You will pray instead. You will not know depression today. You will pray instead.

Human worry is cast out in Jesus Christ’s name.

You pray instead.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We have a common-union with God who does not know worry or sorrow. We do not fret today. We pray. You and God are one. God and you are one. God has great need of you. But God can only use you if you consent to the Divine in your free-will. Dear God, now, we consent.

God is renewing us today. God is renewing our old dreams and hopes, the vision we used to have of our perception, the thoughts that we have had in our minds when we have prayed and hoped and believed a lot.

That hope is found in you now. It has been lost in you for some time, and your dreams are fulfilled in your prayer times. The healing which has not been at hand is at hand in prayer.

You and God are one. God is closer than your breath, as near as your thought. This activity is happening now. Allow it to happen. Ask for it to happen.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

God and you are one strong, indivisible unit. You cannot be divided from God.

God and you are inseparable. You are bonded together. You are fused with new strength. You are fused with that portion of yourself that never doubts. It does not have a concept of doubt. You are no longer alone. God is with you. And you are so aware in your mind that you are working as a pair. You turn your attention away from limited human thought. Continuously you are turning your attention toward abundance, illumination and healing now and forevermore.

“Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward all.'”

Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ

Christmas – how joyous! The wonders of God’s wondrous gifts are upon us.

May it be felt in the recesses of our souls today. This day we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ – the birth of a new beginning for humankind, then, and now. This is the birth of a new message of the way to live our lives today.

A soul prepares for eons, and then a Babe with the mission is born in a manger – to bring a message. He is the Great Messenger of all time.

He was given birth as a human infant by His mother the Virgin Mary. He was born as we are born into a human body but born with the spirit which knew the full power of God. He was a Babe who did not know human limitation.

He was a child who grew in body and mind– a child who was, and is, about His father’s business.

He was a child who was truly a king within the kingdom of expanding Minds – the Prince of hope, the Prince of peace, the Prince of love, and the Prince of joy.

He was a Babe bearing a gift of God for our lives. This gift has no strings attached. It is a gift so great that it releases the chains of bondage, the shackles of the illness, the prison of self-doubt, and the weight of poverty.

God’s Messenger has come to us on earth in the temple of the body of that Babe. God’s message is of our oneness with God.

May we follow Him in NOT knowing human limitation.

As the star led the wise men to the manger, the message Jesus gave us shines today to lead us to a new way of thinking, living, moment by moment guidance, spiritual healing, and in abundant life.

Let us take a moment on this Christmas Day to turn to God in prayer, and in gratitude commune with the giver of all gifts:

Dear God, this Christmas Day I accept your gift.

I unwrap the package that has been wrapped since my birth.

This Christmas may Christ be born in me also.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I now prepare spiritually to fully open my eyes. As I open my eyes, I realize spiritually that I have, indeed, unwrapped the gift of Your presence in my life.

As I spiritually open my eyes, I realize that I perceive differently. I have received the greatest Christmas gift of all – the gift of realizing who and what I am.

I thank You, God, for this moment in time and for the sacredness of this day.

I will keep the spirit of Christmas in me at all times.

Following the nature of the Babe born in Bethlehem, Jesus Christ … Amen
