As I faced my God in Heaven, I knelt before the Lord along with all the other souls.

Before each of us lay our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles. An Angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a tapestry that is our life.

But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each square was. They were filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the challenges and temptations

I was faced with in everyday life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes of all. I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the right hues of worldly fortune. I gazed upon my own life and was disheartened. My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together, threadbare and empty, like binding air. Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the light, the scrutiny of truth.

The others rose, each in turn, holding up their tapestries. So filled their lives had been.

My angel looked upon me, and nodded for me to rise. My gaze dropped to the round in shame. I hadn’t had all the earthly fortunes. I had love in my life, and laughter. But there had also been trials of illness, and death, and false accusations that took from me my world, as I knew it.

I had to start over many times. I often struggled with the temptation to quit, only to somehow muster the strength to pick up and begin again.

I spent many nights on my knees in prayer, asking for help and guidance in my life. I had often been held up to ridicule, which I endured painfully, each time offering it up to God in hopes that I would not melt within my skin beneath the judgmental gaze of those who unfairly judged me. And now, I had to face the truth.

My life was what it was, and I had to accept it for what it was. I rise and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light. An awe-filled gasp filled the air. I gazed around at the others who stared at me with wide eyes. Then, I looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes, creating an image, the face of Christ.

Then our Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in God’s eyes. God said, very time you gave over your life to Me, it became My life, My hardships, and My struggles. Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine through, until there was more of Me than there was of you.” May all our quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to shine through.

God, as love, has always existed; and God’s law of love has been in operation from the beginning of time.

Humankind has been progressing, by degrees, to a higher realization of God as a loving Parent. The Old Testament is a history of human’s steady growth in this respect. Where once the Law of Moses (an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth) was necessary to control the conduct of human beings, humans are now coming to the realization that the law of love is greater.

“For the law was given through Moses; Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:17

Justice is the loving method God uses to move humans from imperfect concepts to an awareness of perfection. The love of God, and the grace of God are available to every human and every instance involving justice. We only need to realize it and claim it. Love and forgiveness are the higher law.

You give thanks for the freeing realization that God’s law of love and justice is at work in your life, freeing you from all belief in injustice and victim-hood in all areas of your life.

“The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8

Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. Franklin P. Jones

If, for the moment, your life seems dark, dreary, or cold, you can be love-filled, despite appearances. You can be certain that there will be a spiritual experience of God’s love. The warmth of God’s love will renew your personal world. You can be faith-filled concerning God’s love, meant for you. Life will once again be bright, colorful, exciting, and you will be assured of new positive growth. Even when there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out – God is all you need!

In Mark 4:40 Scripture says, “Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?”

Positive Christianity has people around the world that are praying for an infilling of love and faith. You are praying, we are praying, they are praying – knowing this gives us a feeling that we are holding hands in love with all humanity.

Ask yourself as you read this Positive Daily Inspiration:

“What is the need of my life?”

Is it order, harmony, justice, love, good relationships, joy, wisdom, guidance, health, prosperity, strength, comfort, better job, freedom, or peace?” Whatever your need, great or small, you place it, lovingly in the hands of God, for in God, you trust. You trust in God and your feelings are attuned to that trust. You trust in God and the thoughts of your mind, your word, and your loving actions give evidence to it. A new order is established in your life and your world, because you have a growing ability to trust God in everything in your life. You are filled with a new awareness of God’s love.

YOU WERE CREATED BY GOD FOR GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT

“A desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul.” Proverbs 13:19

You have heard of people that are good starters, but poor finishers. You have known persons who started all kinds of projects with enthusiasm, but soon lost interest and turned to something else.

A child of God is meant for and God-equipped for accomplishment. Each of us is geared for attainment. As you pray for wisdom and direction in using your talents and abilities, you will be led to give your time in worthwhile and satisfying ways. You will be led by God to give your interest and attention to worthwhile and satisfying endeavors.

As you pray for consecration to your purpose, you will be led to take the steps, one at a time, that will lead to perfect fulfillment.

God will work with you. You will work as a team, and with God working in you, and through you, you will become a good finisher of all projects. You will also have the courage to be a good starter. You enter into life, this Friday, with enthusiasm, but you also want to have patience and endurance to stay the course to meet your goals, and experience the joy of accomplishment. If you find yourself questioning your purpose and needs, you have swift access to God’s light, empowerment, and love.

A good accomplisher turns to God, often, in prayer. Prayer will work to recharge you and motivate you. Prayer will reveal your way to you and will lead you in the adventure of the direction of your highest good.

You have often heard it said, “As within so without.” An accomplishment begins with your thinking of it as easy to accomplish, and in fact, already accomplished. Jesus knew what he was saying when he said, “When you pray, believe you have already received.” You must watch your thoughts, and if you find them slipping into negative grooves, such as self-doubt, inferiority feelings, or fear, you can quickly establish control over them by centering yourself in prayer.

God believes in you – more than you believe in yourself!

God knows what you can do because God created you to do it. When your thoughts are established in God Truth, your actions will naturally follow in this success path. You will move forward with the conviction that you are going forth to accomplish good purposes.

Procrastination and self-stoppage is a learned, human habit that, overtime, defines who you are, to your own self-image of yourself. Accomplishment after accomplishment re-creates you in the image and likeness of God, your creator. With every accomplishment, you will believe in yourself more.

There is nothing–NOTHING– that God cannot do through you! You are meant for accomplishment!

If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into Heaven?” I asked the children in my Sunday School class.

“NO!” the children all answered.

“If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into Heaven?”

Again, the answer was, “NO!”

“Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave candy to all the children, and loved my wife, would that get me into Heaven?” I asked them again.

Again, they all answered, “NO!”

“Well, I continued, “then how can I get into Heaven?”

A five-year-old boy shouted out, “YOU GOTTA BE DEAD.”

The following are actual stories told by travel agents:

I had someone who wanted to stay at the Bob Newhart Inn in Connecticut. When I explained that the inn was fictional, the customer became very irate and insisted “I know it is real, I see people check in every week!”

I really did have someone ask for an aisle seat so that their hair wouldn’t get messed up by being near the window.

A client called in inquiring about a package to Hawaii. After going over all the cost info, she asked, “Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii?”

I got a call from a woman who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information when she interrupted me with “I’m not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts.”

Without trying to make her look like the stupid one, I calmly explained, “Cape Cod is in Massachusetts, Capetown is in Africa.”

A secretary called in looking for a hotel in Los Angeles. She gave me various names off a list, none of which I could find. I finally had her fax me the list. To my surprise, it was a list of hotels in New Orleans, Louisiana. She thought the LA stood for Los Angles, and that New Orleans was a suburb of L.A. Worst of all, when I called her back, she was not even embarrassed.

A man called, furious about a Florida package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando. He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried to explain that is not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state.

He replied, “Don’t lie to me. I looked on the map and Florida is a very thin state.”

I got a call from a man who asked, “Is it possible to see England from Canada?”

I said, “No.”

He said “But they look so close on the map.”

___

Another man called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas. When I pulled up the reservation, I noticed he had a one-hour layover in Dallas. When I asked him why he wanted to rent a car, he said, “I heard Dallas was a big airport, and I need a car to drive between the gates to save time.”

A nice lady just called. She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:20am and got into Chicago at 8:33am. I tried to explain that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois, but she could not understand the concept of time zones. Finally I told her the plane went very fast, and she bought that!

A woman called and asked, “Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know who’s luggage belongs to who?”

I said, “No, why do you ask?”

She replied, “Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said FAT, and I’m overweight, is there any connection?”

After putting her on hold for a minute while I ‘looked into it’ (I was actually laughing), I came back and explained the city code for Fresno is FAT, and that the airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage.

I just got off the phone with a man who asked, “How do I know which plane to get on?”

I asked him what, exactly, he meant, to which he replied, “I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these darn planes have numbers on them.”

A woman called and said, “I need to fly to Pepsi-cola on one of those computer planes.”

I asked if she meant to fly to Pensacola on a commuter plane.

She said, “Yeah, whatever.”

___

A business man called and had a question about the documents he needed in order to fly to China. After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded him he needed a visa.

“Oh no I don’t, I’ve been to China many times and never had to have one of those.”

I double checked, and sure enough, his stay required a visa. When I told him this he said, “Look, I’ve been to China 4 times and every time, they have accepted my American Express.”

A woman called to make reservations; “I want to go from Chicago to Hippopotamus, New York. The agent was at a loss for words.

Finally, the agent said “Are you sure that’s the name of the town?”

“Yes, what flights do you have?” replied the customer.

After some searching, the agent came back with, “I’m sorry, ma’am, I’ve looked up every airport code in the country and can’t find a Hippopotamus anywhere.”

The customer retorted, “Oh don’t be silly. Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!”

The agent scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, “You don’t mean Buffalo, do you?”

“That’s it! I knew it was a big animal!”

Heartprints

Whatever our hands touch …
We leave fingerprints.
On walls, on furniture,
On door knobs, dishes and books.
Smudges, showing we were there!

Oh Lord, please,
Wherever I go today …
Help me leave Heartprints …

IT’S CALLED “JOY”

She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live. I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world begins to close in on me. She was building a sand castle, or something, and looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea.

“Hello,” she said. I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child. “I’m building,” she said.

“I see that. What is it?” I asked, not really caring.

“Oh, I don’t know, I just like the feel of sand.”

“That sounds good,” I thought, and slipped off my shoes.

A sandpiper glided by. “That’s a joy,” the child said.

“It’s a what?” I asked. “It’s a joy, my mama says sandpipers come to bring us joy.” The bird went gliding down the beach.

“Good-bye joy,” I muttered to myself, “Hello pain,” and turned to walk on. I was depressed; my life seemed completely out of balance.

“What’s your name?” She wouldn’t give up.

“Robert,” I answered. “I’m Robert Peterson.”

“Mine’s Wendy … I’m six.”

“Hi, Wendy.”

She giggled. “You’re funny,” she said.

In spite of my gloom, I laughed too and walked on.

Her musical giggle followed me. “Come again, Mr. P,” she called. “We’ll have another happy day.”

The days and weeks that followed belonged to others- a group of unruly Boy Scouts, PTA meetings, and an ailing mother.

The sun was shining one morning as I took my hands out of the dishwater. “I need a sandpiper,” I said to myself, gathering up my coat. The ever-changing balm of the seashore waited me. The breeze was chilly, but I strode along, trying to recapture the serenity I needed. I had forgotten the child and was startled when she appeared. “Hello, Mr. P,” she said. “Do you want to play?”

“What did you have in mind?” I asked, with a twinge of annoyance.

“I don’t know; you pick.”

“How about charades?” I asked sarcastically.

Her twinkling laughter burst forth again. “I don’t know what that is.”

“Then let’s just walk,” I said. Looking at her, I noticed the delicate fairness of her face. “Where do you live?” I asked.

“Over there.” She pointed toward a row of summer cottages. Strange, I thought, in winter.

“Where do you go to school?”

“I don’t go to school. Mommy says we’re on vacation.” She chattered little girl talk as we strolled up the beach, but my mind was on other things. When I left for home, Wendy said it had been a happy day. Feeling surprisingly better, I smiled at her and agreed.

Three weeks later, I rushed to the beach in a state of near panic. I was in no mood to even greet Wendy. I thought I saw her mother on the porch and felt like demanding she keep her child at home. “Look, if you don’t mind,” I said crossly when Wendy caught up with me, “I’d rather be alone today.”

She seemed unusually pale and out of breath. “Why?” she asked.

I turned to her and shouted, “Because my mother died!” and thought, “My God, why was I saying this to a little child?”

“Oh,” she said quietly, “then this is a bad day.”

“Yes,” I said, “and yesterday and the day before and – oh, go away!”

“Did it hurt?” she inquired.

“Did what hurt?” I was exasperated with her, with myself.

“When she died?” she asked.

“Of course it hurt!” I snapped, misunderstanding, wrapped up in myself. I strode off.

A month or so after that, when I next went to the beach, she wasn’t there. Feeling guilty, ashamed and admitting to myself I missed her, I went up to the cottage after my walk and knocked at the door. A drawn looking young woman with honey-colored hair opened the door. “Hello,” I said. “I’m Robert Peterson. I missed your little girl today and wondered where she was.”

“Oh, yes, Mr. Peterson, please come in. Wendy spoke of you so much. I’m afraid I allowed her to bother you. If she was a nuisance, please, accept my apologies.”

“Not at all – she’s a delightful child,” I said, suddenly realizing that I meant what I had just said.

“Wendy died last week, Mr. Peterson. She had leukemia. Maybe she didn’t tell you.”

Struck dumb, I groped for a chair. I had to catch my breath.

“She loved this beach; so when she asked to come, we couldn’t say no. Wendy seemed so much better here and had a lot of what she called ‘happy days.’ But the last few weeks, she declined rapidly … ” Her voice faltered. “She left something for you … if only I can find it. Could you wait a moment while I look?”

I nodded stupidly, my mind racing for something to say to this lovely young woman. She handed me a smeared envelope with “Mr. P” printed in bold, childish letters. Inside was a drawing in bright crayon hues – a yellow beach, a blue sea, and a brown bird. Underneath was carefully printed: A SANDPIPER TO BRING YOU JOY.

Tears welled up in my eyes and a heart that had almost forgotten how to love opened wide. I took Wendy’s mother in my arms. “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.” I muttered over and over, and we wept together.

The precious little picture is framed now and hangs in my study. Six words – one for each year of her life – that speak to me of harmony, courage, and undemanding love. A gift from child with sea-blue eyes and hair the color of sand – who taught me the gift of love.

The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less. Life is so complicated, the hustle and bustle of everyday traumas can make us lose focus about what is truly important and what is only a momentary setback or crisis. Today, tomorrow, be sure to give your loved ones an extra hug, and by all means, take a moment … even if it is only ten seconds, to stop and smell the roses.

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
Matthew 21:21

Once upon a time there was a lobster. This lobster lay at the bottom of the ocean thinking about the New Year ahead. The lobster had high hopes for the coming year but, unlike us, he was limited in how much he could grow. He had a thick shell around him that limited his growth.

The lobster decided that the past limitations could not hold him back any longer, so, the lobster decided in faith to risk everything in order to grow.

The lobster then had to shed his thick protective shell in order to grow. His shell was holding him back, limiting him, stopping him from attaining his full potential. Underneath his shell, there was only a thin pink membrane skin. His shell was the only thing in the world that protected him. But the wise lobster was willing to risk all in order to grow. Possible growth was the most valuable asset this lobster had, AND it is our most valuable asset also.

So often we live inside shells that we have made to protect us or to hide us. As soon as we make a shell for ourselves, we find that it is too small. No shell that a human molds around himself, or herself, can contain the magnificence and the glory waiting to burst forth.

There is a new dawn breaking in our lives. On this date in our personal history, we will leave an old, worn-out year behind. We will also leave behind all ideas in our mind of limitation and lack.

This is God’s time in your life.

The fields are white for the harvest right now in our lives. The time has come for us once again to take the reins and guide our awareness toward the unlimited good of God that awaits us all. We start wisely by building our faith in what can be accomplished with God as our partner.

I often tell myself to try something so impossible that it will only succeed IF God is in it.

Be involved in something bigger than yourself. Invest your time in a Divine idea from God. There are Divine ideas awaiting your harvest.

Our purpose in life becomes very clear when we obey the still small voice within us. When we become silent and turn to God in prayer, we began to hear and feel new ideas. These ideas can guide us, illumine us, heal us to perfect wholeness and provide overflowing prosperity.

We are not alone. God is our friend, partner, and companion. This year will be the most amazing year of our lifetime. If we have boxed ourselves in – we decide now to unbox ourselves because our potential is too great to be boxed up. We must not identify with any shell that we have made. We are not our shell. The further we go into mind, the wider its horizon until we are forced to acknowledge that we are not the personal limited thing that we appear to be, but the focus of God’s infinite idea. That idea contains within itself inexhaustible possibilities.

This can be a time of inexhaustible possibilities for you!

Time is but an empty vessel for you to place your God given creations.

You are a most important factor in creation. You + God = miracles.

This is a time of original faith thinking in you. It is possible to live a whole lifetime without a single original thought; instead, many people just think the secondhand ideas of ancestors, ideas of race consciousness, or the threadbare stock of the ordinary social whirl.

By your original faith thinking, you will catch the sight of the God truth in God’s ideas for your life. You will see images generated in your mind from the love of God. This faith thinking is not based on reasoning. The faith thinker does not compare, analyze, or draw conclusions from known premises. Like Jesus, the faith thinker does not take appearances into consideration and is not biased by precedent.

You are free agent you build your own world with God’s help.

Descartes said, “I think, therefore I AM;” however, I believe that can be turned around to “I AM, therefore I think.”

We will not limit ourselves; we will not be held back by old existing thoughts. We will no longer be a slave to personal limited thinking. We will do as the lobster did; we will un-shell ourselves and walk forward with courage and faith – and growth WILL happen – positive growth based not on past appearances but faith from the wellspring of God’s idea harvest.

Dear God, I know that You created me for success in 2023.

” … And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9

When we speak of peace between people, we are speaking of a state of order and calm that exists as long as all who are involved agree. However, when we speak of spiritual inner peace, we are referring to a serenity of the soul that emanates from God.

We often find ourselves in conflicts in families or at our workplace. Like on the high seas, the storm is only on the surface. Underneath the waves is lasting calm. The Bible refers to this as a wellspring that will never go dry, that will always quench our thirst and matter how hot situations get. Divine peace is always within us, waiting to be drawn upon–we only need to turn to God in prayer to be consciously connected to the source of our tranquility.

Once we have experienced Divine tranquility, we will understand that it far exceeds our expectations and goes beyond any preconceived limitations. We will yearn for the return of it should our thoughts ever go astray. When we are experiencing inner tranquility, we are experiencing the presence of God.

Tranquility is one of the greatest, finest, and highest states of being. It is one in which it does not matter what happens to us. Tranquility is a state of mind wherein we know that something is sustaining us and we know that we have our purpose in God. Tranquility is a state of mind wherein humans are complete in themselves. It is obtainable to us all, for it belongs to all humankind.

Tranquility is a result, an effect. You can choose at any time to be on the side of God and so find an inner peace and tranquility so great that nothing can disturb the calm peace of your soul.

It is the inner tranquility within ourselves that is our power against every adversity. Where tranquility is, there is no loss of strength through mental strain. The energy that is wasted through friction and mental struggle is often sufficient to do the work of 10 people.

More than anything on earth, inner tranquility is what humans seek and want. This is true for the individual and the nations. Power comes to the one who can hold his or her peace. This must not be an outer, seeming peace, but a true inner quietness. No “miserable inside” an artificial peace outside is of any use.

Practice tranquility even when things are not going exactly the way you want them to. Remember it is your day, and you decide how to live it. Well-being happens from the inside out, not from the outside in. Practice peace even if everyone seems to fail you. Even if your job is gone, your good seems to be slipping away, your loved ones have turned aside, and health problems challenge, practice tranquility and you will be connecting to God’s power and help.

When you are one with tranquility, you are an open channel for all that is yours by Divine right. When you do the reverse, you block a lot of God’s good. Just as a closed fist cannot receive, the tense mind is not open to receive the answers, the solutions, and the healing from God.

Dear God, this day I pray to know the peace that
passes all human understanding. I am ready to live in the calm realization that
I am Your child, connected to You and all that You are. Help me to live this day
as a tranquil person bathed in spiritual well-being. I pray that I have a

lifestyle will be.
