SATURDAY INSPIRATION

THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL

A weary mother returned from the store,
Lugging groceries through the kitchen door.

Awaiting her arrival was her eight-year-old son,
Eager to relate what his younger brother had done.

“While I was out playing and Dad was on a call,
T.J. took his crayons and wrote on the wall!

It’s on the new paper you just hung in the den.
I told him you’d be mad at having to do it again.”

She let out a moan and furrowed her brow.
“Where is your little brother right now?”

She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride,
She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide.

She called his full name as she entered his room.
He trembled with fear — he knew that meant doom!

For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved
About the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved.

Stressed over all the work it would take to repair,
She condemned his actions and total lack of care.

The more she scolded, the madder she got,
Then stomped from his room, totally distraught!

She headed for the den to confirm her fears.
When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears.

The message she read pierced her soul with a dart.
It said, “I love Mommy,” surrounded by a heart.

Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it,
With an empty picture frame hung to surround it.

A reminder to her, and indeed to all,
Take time to read the handwriting on the wall!!!

THE KING’S FOUR WIVES

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The King’s 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, “I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I’ll be all alone.”

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I am dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No way!” replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you all my life. Now that I am dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is too good! When you die, I am going to remarry!” His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, “I have always turned to you for help and you’ve always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only send you to your grave.” Her answer came like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: “I’ll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go.” The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was so skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King said, “I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!”

In truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives: Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status, and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul, often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go. So cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of us who will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us throughout Eternity.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I do ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, as the hours and days unfold, that I know more clearly this mighty God-given power of the heart and the mighty power of love lighting my way.
Amen.

Thank God it is Friday, and tomorrow thank God it’s Saturday, and so on. If you don’t think that every day is a good day, just try missing one. The greatest gift of God is that we are alive.

A person recently said to me, “I don’t want to be a survivor; I want to be a thriver!” I’ve always found it easier to preach 10 sermons than to live one. but living a sermon is what is important for the person delivering it, and the person hearing it. Thriving and happiness in life come by living in a constant state of thankfulness to God. So many miss living because they are trapped within cynicism, negativity, and critical outlooks on their life.

The story of Jesus stilling the storm reminds us of the importance of calmness and trust in the midst of turmoil. Recall that Jesus was sleeping in the stern of the boat when the fearful disciples awakened Him to restore tranquility to the stormy situation.

Connected to God you remain positive even in the midst of a storm in your life. Centered and poised with God you are thankful in advance of positive outcomes. With confidence you establish order and balance in chaotic situations around you. Calm and tranquil thoughts focus the power of God’s love to flow through you in overflowing thanksgiving.

William James said, “The greatest discovery of any generation is that the human being can alter his life by altering his attitude.”

We have to become willing to become what we are praying for.

The vitamin for Christians is B-1!

We must not view Christianity from the sidelines as we watch a Superbowl game. To be successful in life, you do not just attend church; you decide to get INTO the game.

The best way to get in the game and adjust your attitude is by spending a day in thanksgiving to God.

Preface every prayer with thanksgiving. Thankfulness, before you see visible results turns the prayer of hope into the prayer of fulfillment.

Jesus taught us this with His prayer, “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.” Then, regardless of appearances, give thanks that a miracle work is being done through God’s movement.

Give thanks for the assurance that you are always safe and secure in God’s loving care. Give thanks that you are guided by God, that you know what to do and that your way is clear before you. Calmness is the quality of spirit you express today as you express your ability to monitor your thoughts, to stay calm. You are calm because your awareness of God’s presence and thanksgiving of that is becoming a permanent state of mind.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Thank You God that I am blessed with the love of life and always kept in the stream of happy and worthwhile living. I do not sit and wait for life to come to me; I joyously meet each day with eagerness and great anticipation.

I love life, and my constant state of thankfulness draws me into the stream of abundant living. I do not let life pass me by. I enter into life with all my mind and heart focused on what is right and good. Every day is a wonderful and a rewarding experience. I thank God because I am blessed with the joy of living. I appreciate life and I appreciate God’s gifts to me including life itself. I know that I can never be separated from life, that I am always in the midst of life eternal. In this state of daily thanksgiving, I am deeply aware of God’s presence and I am filled with the strength of joy. I am thankful for the windows of heaven opening in my life. “Prove me right now, said the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out of blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” I prove my faith in life through my constant thankfulness. I am not afraid to be thankful or to express thanksgiving. I have an inner feeling of childlike joy.

OTHER PEOPLE ARE PRAYING FOR YOU!

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert-like island. Not knowing what else to do, the two survivors agreed that they had no other recourse but to pray to God. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man’s parcel of land remained barren. After a week, the first man was lonely, and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the island. On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, and more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God’s blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.

As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, “Why are you leaving your companion on the island?”

“My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them,” the first man answered. “His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything.”

“You are mistaken!” the voice rebuked him. “He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings.” Tell me,” the first man asked the voice, “What did he pray for that I should owe him anything?”

“He prayed that all your prayers be answered.”

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us.

Psalm 91
1 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

3 Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence”

4 God will cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I trust; God’s faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place – the Most High, who is your refuge

10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your dwelling.

11 For God will command God’s angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 Because he, or she, holds fast to me in love, I will deliver them; I will protect them, because they know my name.

15 When you call to me, I will answer you; I will be with you in trouble; I will rescue you and honor you.

16 With long life I will satisfy you and show you my salvation.”

“God cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I trust.”

Psalm 91 can be used as a psalm for peace of mind.

Do you have problems you need to deal with whilst at the same time experiencing a peace that comes from trust in God?

“You cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I trust.”

Apparently, the female eagle carries her young under her wings. Those young eagles may be flying with a huge drop beneath them. Yet they are safe and protected.

We can see these bible verses in Psalm 91 as a powerful image of God in as a loving and protecting mother. (See also, Deuteronomy 32:11)

“You cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I trust.”

The meaning of Psalm 91 is that whatever dangers seem present in our world, the more we let God carry us, the more we fly through them and above them in safety. We associate more and more with the part of us that remains in God and rises above the difficulties of this world.

“Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.”

“The snare of the fowler” for me is what is often called the Inner Critic – the voice in your head, not necessarily audible! – that tells you – you have got it all wrong. Or it could be the Inner Judge – the voice in your head, that keeps telling you all the ways in which someone else has got it all wrong. The Inner Judge may seem preferable to the Inner Critic.

But stop and think about it …

Both voices make for unpleasant thoughts! “Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler.”

You might know the time when you need this prayer for peace of mind:

You are in a place of saying:

“I feel upset about something.

On and on go my racing thoughts.

They feel like bad thoughts, negative thoughts.

I want to just dismiss them, but I don’t seem to have the power to replace my thoughts with the thoughts that God would have me think.”

Great. If you see you don’t have the power to change your thoughts this is a wonderful first step.

Now you can say a prayer for peace of mind.

Invite God to decide for you.

Dear God please decide for me. I pray for peace of mind, help me to get it.
Help me to see hidden causes that may be robbing me of what I so desire.
I ask for Your help.

Thank You God.

Amen

You are making a space in your mind in which God can work.

“Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler.”

It is very important to find some way to discipline your thoughts and direct them towards inner peace. A good way to do this was to say Psalm 91 as a prayer for peace of mind. Repeating the bible verse to give you an idea of the persistence with which you need to repeat words that ask for what you want and replace the words in your head that ask for what you do not want.

“The noisome pestilence” is interpreted differently in different versions of the Bible.

Again, use this line as a prayer for peace of mind – peace from the unpleasant racing thoughts.

Use both lines as a prayer for release from depression.

“Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler and the noisome pestilence.”

So, what do you do if it seems you don’t have the power to quiet your racing thoughts?

You remember you don’t have to find peace on your own.

You say a prayer for peace of mind to invite God to give you peace.

When we pray Psalm 91, we do just that. We invite God to enter our mind and bring us peace.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God,

The thoughts in my mind are not the ones I always want.
I don’t seem to be doing a great job of changing them.
I am willing to think what You would have me think.
I am willing to be at peace.
I claim the confidence of the psalmist in Psalm 91:
You deliver me my God from the snare of the fowler.
You deliver me my God from the noisome pestilence.
Thank You so much.

In Jesus Christ name … Amen.

Tuesday Prayer and Meditation for Greater Happiness

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, Rejoice.”
Philippians 4:4

Prayer is a sacred and a happy time.

In preparing for this time of prayer, let us accept the reality that happiness is ours to experience.

“With God’s help I am happy now.”

Allow that Truth of God to permeate every aspect of our being because that is a reality; that is our reality.

The creator created us to experience happiness.

What a momentous day to be alive! What a wonderful day to set forth! I anticipate happy happenings today.

I anticipate a day in which I feel loved and approved of a day in which I accomplish my aims and purposes, a day in which I use more of the talents and abilities with which I have been endowed.

In the silence of prayer …

Today, this very moment, I have faith in God to guide me in all things – in matters of great importance and in matters that are significant only to the moment.

Today I will expect and accept my good. I am life’s expression of joy and happiness. I am God’s gift of joy to God’s wonderful world. In all I do, and whatever experience in which I find myself, God’s wellspring of joy remains unchanged within me – immeasurable, abiding, ready for me to give expression to it.

If I have felt down or depressed about some particular situation in my life, this is my opportunity to allow God’s help and happiness to flow through me.

We allow this to happen now to bless the situation and all concerned.

All needs are better met with spiritual joy in my heart. A joy-filled heart enables me to look past appearances and the places where challenges exist.

Let’s take a moment now, in the silence of prayer.

As we allow whatever experience or situation to come forth in consciousness so God can heal it, change it, and bless it, we allow God to take control of it so we can experience this true happiness that we each seek.

In the silence of prayer …

A joy-filled heart enables me to look past appearances, past the places where challenges once existed. Many persons and many things in my world contribute to my joy and happiness.

I give grateful thanks for each one. I also give thanks for the knowledge of God’s wellspring of joy within me, and for my ability to give expression to it.

I look to this day for yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is but a vision. Today well-lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and tomorrow a vision of hope.

In the silence of prayer …

Thank You God for this splendid opportunity to rise to that higher level of joyous expression. We are expressions of happiness right now; we are expressions of joy.

As we continue forward in this Jesus Christ experience, our hearts are full of excitement as we know the Truth for ourselves and for this precious moment.

For this we are profoundly grateful,

When Life Starts to Smell

“Oh, to be safe under the shelter of Thy wings.”
Psalms 61:4

“It was a summer night in the mid-1990s. I was standing on the front porch with my son. It was a perfect night, perfect temperature. I had my arm around my son, and we were looking out over the yard at the full moon.

“Across the driveway in the meadow on the other side of the yard there was a family of skunks. I said to Jonathan, ‘Isn’t that beautiful?’ They were walking across the meadow. We took out our binoculars and we looked at the skunks.

Then for some reason I turned around and I noticed my dog was outside. My dog “Bentley” was an overly friendly golden retriever, who lived for one thing, making new friends. I prayed an instant prayer that he wouldn’t see the skunks. Too late, he spotted them; I saw his whole expression change. He got a big smile on his face, and he thought, ‘New friends to play with.’ He was off chasing four surprised skunks who were not at all pleased to make the acquaintance of a 105-pound- bouncing-fur-ball lunging toward them.

“I saw it happen as if in slow motion. All four skunks raised their tails in unison. We heard from the front porch our dog yelp and whine. We saw a gaseous cloud arise like an atomic blast and encircle my dog. There was a slight breeze blowing from the direction of the skunks to our home. Within moments a strange smell encircled our entire house. It was so powerful I cannot even describe to you in this Positive Daily Inspiration how powerful it was except my son was crying. He said, ‘Daddy, make it stop.’

“I went into the kitchen to get my can of professional strength Lysol. When I was in the kitchen looking under the cupboard for the Lysol, my son let the dog in the house. The dog was about as low in spirit as a living creature could be. The dog was very embarrassed and so he ran for his hiding place under the bed in the back bedroom. This is my daughter Jennifer’s room.

She was away for the week at a church conference. I thought OK, once he squeezes under the bed, there is no removing him. I closed the door to her room, and I thought I would fumigate later before she gets back home on Sunday.

“My son and I went to bed. About two hours later, about midnight, a storm blew in. We heard the hard rain and the thunderstorm. My dog was very afraid of thunder. He was crying in the back bedroom, and I felt so sorry for him, but there was nothing I could do. I could not let him out. So, we went back to sleep. In the middle of the night, I awoke because I started to smell that overwhelming smell again. I turned on the light and in the middle of my king sized bed right beside me was the dog. I pulled the dog outside and put him on the front screened in porch because the thunderstorm had passed by this time. I thought that if he were on the front porch he would air out.

“The next day he had not aired out. As a matter of fact, the smell did not age well at all. I went to work the next day and I asked some of my friends what I should do. Several people who were there said to bathe him in tomato juice. I just stared at them. I thought, ‘Oh, that will be fun – bathing this 105-pound-fur-ball in tomato juice.’

“They said, ‘Well, you had better go to the wholesale club and buy gallons and gallons of tomato juice.’

“Those of you that have big dogs know what I’m talking about. That dog would have shaken so much that the whole yard would have looked like spaghetti. Tomato sauce would be over the dried yellow grass, while miraculously the dog would stay dry.

“I called the Vet, and I got a product called ‘Skunk Out.’ I poured it all over him, and I was so thankful it wasn’t tomato juice. When he got wet, it was just as I predicted, he shook, and his fur shed off all fluid. I had a lot more Skunk Out on me than he had on him. I literally had it on the back of my eyeballs. I washed the sheets, and I shampooed the entire carpeting in my house, I even repainted one room.”

We never did fully get the smell out of the back room. The dog hid under the bed of my daughter during the time Jennifer was at the church conference. Her room had a strange aroma around it. When she returned, she said, “Dad, there’s a strange smell in my backroom.” Jonathan and I just shrugged our shoulders acting like we did not know what the world it could be. To this day, I do not think she knows the full story.

Life is funny. Everything can be going well and in a second’s time you meet one of “life’s skunks.” It is OK as long as you recover, but if you don’t recover, if you hang on to the hurt, you become sick.

There’s a song from an old Broadway play that says, “I’m going to wash that man right out of my hair.” Sometimes, we have to wash the thoughts in our mind. We think nothing of taking a shower everyday cleansing away the old, but it is in the mental cleaning that we find lasting effects.

Only God can fully cleanse away life’s smells.

Ask God for help.

This two-letter word in English has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is ‘UP.’ It is listed in the dictionary as an [adv], [prep], [adj], [n] or [v].

It’s easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?

At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends, brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and fix UP the old car.

At other times, this little word has special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses.

To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special.

And this UP is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP. We open UP a store in the morning, but we close it UP at night. We are pretty mixed UP about UP!

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look UP the word UP in the dictionary.

In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions.

If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used.

It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don’t give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more.

When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP. When the sun comes out, we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, it soaks UP the earth. When it does not rain for a-while, things dry UP.

One could go on and on, but I’ll wrap it UP, for now … my time is UP!

For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,

‘If Ford had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.’

In response to Bill’s comments, Ford issued a press release stating:

If Ford had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash … Twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Apple would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive – but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single ‘This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation’ warning light.

I love the next one!!!

7. The airbag system would ask ‘Are you sure?’ before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key, and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You’d have to press the ‘Start’ button to turn the engine off.

PS – I ‘d like to add that when all else fails, you could call ‘customer service’ in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself!!!!

We often share techniques to help you recall on a daily basis keeping your mind focused on God. In a tough economy, here is a great technique shared by this couple:

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband’s employer’s home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house.

The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband’s employer was quite generous as a host and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?

Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value. A smile crept across the man’s face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

“Look at it.” He said. “Read what it says.”

She read the words “United States of America.”

“No, not that; read further.”

“One cent?”

“No, keep reading.”

“In God we Trust?”

“Yes!”

“And?”

“And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin, I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust in God. Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in FULLY in God.

For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God’s way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!”

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, “In God We Trust,” and had to laugh.

Yes, God, I get the message. It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And God is patient …

Can you imagine calling God on a special toll-free number and asking for the Department of Redundancy. You have decided the new was too tough, change was scary. “Give me more of the same,” you say. There was a sadness in your voice, a resignation that – what was, will be – what is.

Then God speaks to you, whispering in your ear, telling you it’s the baby steps that get you where you want to be in the end.

God says, “I will help. You will not be alone.”

We all want stability and security but that can never be found outside of yourself. Only within, spiritually, can you discover your spiritual oneness with the changelessness of God.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, (the heavenly lights – bright ideas that you need for your life; the wisdom from above) who does not change like shifting shadows.”
James 1:17

God is a genius, and those genius ideas are available to your own human mind. God is an inventor, and those inventions are available to your own human life, if you are willing to have them come through you. God has abilities and gifts that are waiting to be given to you NOW.

When you are in a situation that requires all your attention, you may not feel sure of yourself. You may feel you just don’t have it in you to do what is needed to do. You might feel that you have used up all your strength and don’t have it anymore to expend.

Maybe you are concerned that you will not live up to your own expectations or those of others, rather than let self-doubt build; you can get in contact with who you are again as a child of God.

You are created in God’s image and capable of great things WITH God’s help.

Our only problem with choosing redundancy over change is feeling that we don’t have it in us to do what is required. That is often a good place to be in, realizing that you have to call on something greater than yourself to muster up the courage and energy needed.

Keep this thought in your mind: God is with you, and willing to work within you. With that thought in mind, how can you ever doubt your own abilities?

Oneness is the sum total of one (you) and One (God) equaling ONE dynamo of power and accomplishment. You will feel good about who you are again and what you can accomplish. It is okay to feel good about yourself. God wants you to feel good about yourself. When you are filled with self-confidence about the self that is connected to your spiritual identity, you experience true confidence, and you radiate that confidence to others.

You are confident of who you are and what you can do with the unlimited resources available through your Divine heritage. Through your oneness with God you will leave behind the Department of Redundancy and start to live a new life. You will have a spiritual experience that gives you a positive self-image and the realization of your divine potential – and you will not be afraid to use it.

You will create a sacred space in your mind where you can retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle around you and be totally in the secure presence of God comforted in prayer. You begin to relax and feel powerful and content instead of agitated and afraid. You find greater joy when lingering in the glow of God’s presence than anything that you have known before. You are secure in the knowledge that you are being constantly cared for. This is what it means to be connected to your Creator. Your security comes not from the outer, but from deep inside of you. This feeling charges you and infills you with the power that is beyond yourself, and yet, comes through you, as you.

As you learn to enter this sacred space on a regular basis, at the same time every day, and more often if you are feeling stressed, you know that the door is wide open to greater good than you have ever realized or known.

The best is yet to be!

Dear God, I ask, and I desire, more than anything, to be one with You. I am tired of trying everything that I do – alone, I am willing, and I am ready, to become ONE with You in everything that WE say, WE feel, and WE do.

Consider a Dream

Your mind is like an apartment house with many rooms. In the apartment house of the mind you live in mentally walk from room to room. However, one place that you seldom take time to notice is the top shelf of the catchall closet where you keep things from the past that were (and still are) too important, and too valuable to throw away. On that shelf many people have a dream that is gathering dust.

The dictionary defines dream as a strongly desired goal or purpose; something that fully satisfies a wish – or the verb “to dream,” which means to consider a possibility or to imagine.

Consider a possibility — what you can conceive in and believe in – YOU CAN ACHIEVE!

In Proverbs 29:18 our Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” This is more than a slogan; it is meant for individual application by those who seek better life within the power of Christianity.

To have vision is to have the ability to look past contradictory facts and seeming obstacles to the possibility of fulfillment. It means the ability to look past seeming limitations of age, physical condition, and employment opportunities to the possibilities in God that will lead to the fulfillment of your dreams.

Take your dream off that upper shelf in the closet and really look at it.

What is YOUR dream?

Imagine or envision yourself doing or having the thing you dream. Take it to God in prayer. Pray in the way that you feel is right and good for you to pray. Be sure to add – I am grateful. Always thank God for helping you to make your dream come true.

Be aware that God knows your dream better than you do. God put it there. You are only interpreting it, so pray for the receptivity of the dream. When putting life in your dream do not mess around with facts. Never mind what the facts are or what you think the facts will be in the future. Work with the dream – let God take care of the facts.

An elderly man once said, “Looking back over my life, many of the successes and good fortunes I have sought, I did not find; many of the successes and good fortunes, I found, I had not sought. However, all of my successes and good fortunes came when I was seeking.”

Pray that you are guided by God in the way to actualize your dream. A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. Every remarkable thing begins with a forward step in faith.

God stands ready and waiting to help you make your dream come true for God’s will for you is the fullest measure of joy, fulfillment, and happiness.

The problem with most people is not that they dream too big, the problem with most people is they don’t dream at all. It is time to dream again!

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I know that it is time for me to dream big again. Give me the dreams and the motivation and empowerment to work them through to the manifestation.

Help me to believe bigger things about my life today, and my life tomorrow, than I currently do. Help me to stop focusing on adversity and help me to focus on vision.
