In John 13:35, our Bible states, “By this all humans will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Relationships mean relating. All of us are in relationships with everyone we meet. How we appreciate those people in our lives who are friendly, cheerful, easy to get along with! We are glad to be around them, for they are not easily upset, and they put others at ease. They seem to flow with life, to maintain an optimistic positive attitude.

You can be such a person! You can be the one whom others are glad to be around. No matter what your life may contain in the way of challenges or unhappy relationships, you can be the one to instigate positive changes.

As you give expression to God’s love you look for ways to bring harmony into every situation. God will open the doors of communication for you and you will begin to enjoy all the different people in your life.

You are willing to cooperate, willing to consider another’s opinions and beliefs. You are kind and thoughtful of the feelings of others. You find that you are a channel for love and harmony because you are consenting to the will of God.

The way of God is the way of love. God gives all of us God’s love and the joy that we can experience through expressing it. We hope in our hearts, today, to receive our Divine inheritance.

In daily prayer, we become aware of the love of God as our indwelling presence, and we are thrilled with the joy of life and living. True and lasting love comes from God and is expressed through each of us consenting to God’s will. In this blissful love is the secret of all fulfillment. We rejoice and are glad because God’s harmonizing love reveals the way of an abundant life of happy relationships.

In Isaiah 66:14, our Bible states, “You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice.”

Through the power of God, you will see old relationships renewed. Through the power of God’s love, you will see new relationships come into your life. Through expressing God’s love, your heart will continually rejoice.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I rejoice and I am glad because I choose to express God’s harmonizing love. God’s love, right now, reveals the way to increased love in my wonderful life. I decide and choose to become an expression of God’s love to everyone that I meet. I base all words and actions, beginning this day, on the standard of God’s love.

This is an important prayer time for you and for me.

We will make a covenant with God in awareness of what God can and will do Allow me to speak for you. Dear God, Creator of the universe, Lord of my being, I acknowledge Your power as the source of my life, Your intelligence as the director of my cells, Your essence as the fiber of my tissues. I give thanks for Your life within me. God, I apologize for my past mistreatment of Your holy temple – my body. I know now that I must work with Your life force if I am to fully express my potential for perfection.

Therefore, on this day, I do, earnestly and joyfully, make this covenant with You, God, for God-life to manifest in and through my cells. I promise to work with You, not against You, by appropriating into my mind only thoughts of health and wholeness, envisioning my cells as the perfection they were created to be – worthy of my most noble attitudes and aspirations.

I know now my body, like everything else in life, is a mirror of my inner thoughts and beliefs. Every cell responds to every single thought I think and every word I speak.

I promise to appropriate into my body only foods of health and wholeness, knowing God resides in the foods God created. Knowing, too, that what I eat today, I become tomorrow.

I promise to appropriate into my life-style only actions of health and wholeness. To this extent, I will seek abundant fresh air and adequate rest, and I will engage in regular, constructive exercises, knowing that as I move every muscle, I improve that muscle, and that which is constantly improving and regenerating cannot perish.

I enter into this covenant in the full realization that God’s laws are unchangeable. I have unshakable faith in the fact that as long as I honor my commitments to perfection, God will work within me rewarding me with unlimited health and the wholeness I so fervently seek and desire. Manifesting this in the temple of the living God, I say, “thank You, God.”

What do you do when one door closes and another has not yet opened?

Let us prepare our hearts, today, so that they may be open and receptive to God’s guidance. You prepare your heart, through prayer, to seek and find more of God.

Every time you stand by a closed door, make sure you have an OPEN receptive mind and heart.

Closed doors are opened by open minds to the help and grace of God.

Today, you also prepare your heart so that it may be more loving and giving. Let us prepare our hearts to know the truth about ourselves, about the people in our immediate environment, and in God’s wonderful world.

The human tendency is to stand by a closed door and become bitter and closed ourselves. We often express anger towards others.

Prayer is the way in which we prepare our hearts, so that they beat in unison with the one great heart, the heart of God. As we pray, today, prayers that are meaningful to us come to our minds and take form in words and actions. We, also, will be preparing our hearts for new growth in their capacity to love. Every moment of this day can be a time of spiritual preparation. Today can be a time for living, giving, loving, and growing. We are open!

As we prepare our hearts through prayer, we will seek and find more of God, and we will give more of God’s peace, light, and life to others.

As we seek and find more of God, we also, in turn, find more of ourselves. In God’s infinite plan of life, God created you to express differently than any other person. Life calls you and has need of your own unique expression of it. You are needed to express your own particular God-given talent in your own individual way. Doors fly open when we express openness.

As God’s plan for your life unfolds, you experience fulfillment and contentment.

You pray and proceed with great faith and courage.

You follow God by quickly releasing from your consciousness any contrary thought or appearance, and you accept, as an undeniable truth about you, the idea that you are needed and important. As you seek and find God, you are readying yourself for great things. You become ready to express your creative potential, and you know that at this very moment, someone has a need that can be filled best by you.

Without undue loss of time, you are guided to your rightful place.

When you seek and find God, God reassures you that when one door closes, another immediately opens and signals a greater opportunity for you to express your God-given gifts.

As it says in Romans 12:6, “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.”

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, with Your help, I face every closed-door with an open mind to new possibilities. I walk forward in faith and hope.

The Bible is filled with accounts of people coming through all kinds of dangerous situations because they have put their total trust in God.

I have a question for you: Does this not reveal to you that you carry your own protection with you? If your safety seems threatened, you do not need to wring your hands in helplessness. You can prove God’s protecting presence and power with you.

God is with you, right now – your help in every need.

Your realization that you dwell in the presence of God is like a mantle of protection, surrounding and enfolding you. You can draw this mantle firmly around you. You can see yourself as safely guarded and protected from all harm. You can know that not only do you have the protecting mantle of God’s love, but that others do, too.

If there are outer steps to take to promote your own or another’s safety, this will be revealed to you as you pray for guidance and protection. As you dedicate yourself to the idea of Divine protection, you will be safe and secure in every step that you take.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

As I become still and relax in prayer, I feel Your love, dear God, flowing through my heart. I am filled with the feeling of peace. I remember the words of Jesus, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you.”
(John 14:27)

I quietly and peacefully declare the truth of God in the face of all disquieting appearances. I am one with the life of God and therefore, I affirm, in prayer, peace and protection for each area of my life. I bless my life in the thought that it is free and unburdened. Through the power of God, my life functions perfectly. Nothing can disturb the perfect peace of my soul. I feel a great calm and a great uplift. I am aware of the new assurance that God is with me in showing me the way through any adversity. I remember those beautiful words of Jesus, “Let not your heartbeat troubled. Neither let it be afraid.” I realize there is nothing to fear, for God is with me and God’s love fills my heart.

I see how important it is to let my life rest in the peace of God. I have complete trust in God; I am safe and protected. I let the healing power of God’s love be released in and through me.

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song.”
Isaiah 12:2

The only way that fear can live in you is if it is fed. If you do not feed your fear, it will go away. Fear can be overcome as you deprive it of its power by dwelling on the power of God with you, at all times. God never leaves you and will never forsake you.

If you are in need of help in facing some problem, and every time you think of it, you become fearful – I strongly suggest that every time a fear thought pops up in your mind, that you pray to God. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and of love and of sound mind. God is with you at all times and in all circumstances. God cares for you, protects you, and will answer when you call. God’s power with you, this moment, is greater than any challenge you will ever face.

Follow Jesus by taking a moment now to become still in prayer.

Repeat aloud this positive prayerful affirmation of faith:

“My total trust is in God; therefore I will not be afraid. God is with me right now and God is bigger than this small challenge.”

Dwell on the realization of this, in prayer; let its truth sink deep in your soul. You let the realization of God’s presence and power with you permeate every cell of your being. Fortified by your trust in God, you know that there is nothing to fear. All doubts are dissolved and you are filled with confidence. God will save you from fear, over and over again, when you trust. You will not have to be afraid because you will rely on the strength of God. The song you sing coming from deep in your soul will be one of joy and everlasting hope.

You will have new courage by remembering that God is with you, that you can never be separated from God. You take courage by turning to God in prayer, by opening your mind and heart to the presence of God. You take courage and draw courage from your Divine source that created you in the beginning. You take courage by taking your thought seriously, by speaking words of faith and truth, by recognizing that God’s spirit is with you RIGHT NOW.

You are not afraid because courage rises up within you to bring you comfort, peace, and poise. Courage establishes you in calmness and serenity with which you are meant to face life and life’s challenges. It is good to remember that strength and courage is not something to be added but a quality that is natural to you – that is God-given.

Most of us have worked on a jigsaw puzzle. We know that every tiny piece is important to the whole. We may have worked on a puzzle where there was much sky and have wondered how we are going to be able to fit all those tiny blue pieces in place. But even if one piece was missing, the picture was not complete.

You are important to God, to the whole of God’s world. God needs you to express God’s love and wisdom and to show strength and courage to others facing challenge. Remember – God created you. God knows your potential.

Trust God by putting to use all that you are and all that you have. Do not allow fear in some temporal thing outside of you to stop the God-given gifts within you. Wrapped up in you are God’s most precious gifts. Would you refuse to use them because of human fear? Because you are reading this Positive Daily Inspiration, I know that you have faith to use God-strength and God-power.

I know that you will accept and use the precious gifts that God has given you to overcome fear.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I admit to You my fear has trapped and consumed me.
But no longer! I am tired of living under the weight of my fears.
I am reassured of Your presence and confirm that you are able to deliver me from my trouble.
Please grant awareness of me Your love and Your power to replace these fears.
Your perfect love casts out my fear.
I thank You for promising to give me the peace that only You can give.
I receive that peace now as I ask You to still my troubled heart.

Because You are with me, I am not afraid.

One of your greatest desires in life is to have a mind that is mentally alert. All of us want to be mentally alert, to be quick to learn and to comprehend. You want to recall things, readily, and to be clear and definite in your thinking.

You maintain mental alertness wherever you are – at home, at work, at school, at the steering wheel of your car – as you affirm in prayer and know that you have the mind of Christ in you.

If you find it difficult to concentrate, you can stir up a new spirit of the interest, attention, and enthusiasm by getting still for a moment or two in prayer, and affirming out loud: “My faculties are spiritually alert; my memory is keen, for I have the all-knowing mind of Christ in me.”

Many students have prayed this Positive Christianity prayer with outstanding results.

If you are taking a test of some kind, you can overcome apprehension and prepare the way for your success, by affirming that you have the all-knowing mind of Christ in you. As the Bible says, you have this mind that was also in Christ Jesus – within you.

Through the all-knowing mind of Christ in you – you are alert, attentive, and responsive.

You find that you have a natural ability to do all things in a better way. You discover a higher thought process than your own.

With God, all things are possible, whether the possibility is a door opening to a new opportunity, or a new approach to life. By placing your trust in God, you are assured of knowing the way in mind to get to your highest good.

Through your awareness of God’s power at work in and through you, you know that new avenues of good are opening to you, and rest assured, you will be led, in mind, so that nothing is overlooked or missed.

Trust in God. God cares for you and reveals, in your mind, each solution needed in your life. Commit yourself to being a coworker, and a co-thinker with God and Divine good.

God’s love shines forth in your mind to bring new opportunities to light. You are illumined. You are not at a dead-end in mind, anymore; doors of creativity and genius will open in your mind because your mind is opened to the Christ.

God knows the answers and the perfect solutions to EVERY problem.

Your good will not be kept from your mind. You trust in God and know that with God, all things are possible.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I turn to You now. God knows the answers and perfect solutions to EVERY problem.

My faculties are spiritually alert; my memory is keen, for I have the all-knowing mind of Christ in me.”

Jeremiah 31:13

As we pray today, we join with others around the world who are praying. As we pray, we enter into a private, sacred time of communion. We give thanks first for God and for the blessings that come through knowing God – peace, wisdom, health, understanding, guidance, prosperity. All these are evidence of the presence of God within us.

As we quiet our minds and hearts in communion with God, we are at peace. The business of this day, the concerns of our lives, can wait just a little while. God is in charge. We surrender ourselves completely to God in the silence of prayer.

(Silence)

The presence of God strengthens and nurtures you. We are a community; we sense each other’s feelings. We help one another through life’s challenges. Just as the presence of other people often give us a sense of comfort and unity, the presence of God assures us that the challenges are temporary and that they will pass.

(Silence)

In sweet soul communion with God, you allow the cares of the day to slip away. There is only the sacred presence. You are at peace because you know God is working inside of you and working through all those we love. In the fellowship of humanity, we help one another most by relying on our communion with God.

We trust God’s radiant light to guide, illuminate, and inspire us. We make decisions and we grow in understanding. The light of God leads us along paths that are best for us. We are protected and blessed. We follow the gentle nudging of the most radiant light.

(Silence)

This day, you are guided by infinite Divine wisdom. You are blessed with intelligence, with intuition, with understanding.

You are strengthened by your communion with God. You are comforted by your community with one another. You are tuned to God’s healing life in this quiet moment.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

The healing, invigorating life of God as it moves through the cells of your physical body, strengthening and renewing. You enfold everyone who seeks greater strength and health through God life within. The one life of God, the love of God flows as abundance to fill every need. Blessings, all kinds, some seemingly insignificant and some very great, come to you through God’s love. They flow from one person to another, increasing and enhancing all our lives. In communion with God, we give our attention wholly to God. We become more aware of the wonderful blessings of the Divine. We are immersed in God. Our lives are enriched. We are grateful and we say, “Thank You, God.”

The presence of God lives with you;
The presence of God is in you as peace;
The presence of God is in you as wisdom;
The presence of God is in you as health and abundance.
With every breath, you have a renewed sense of oneness with God.

The light of God surrounds you;
The love of God enfolds you;
The power of God protects you;
The presence of God watches over you.
Wherever you are, God is!

We pray this morning, in the name and through the power of Jesus Christ.

Some of our readers will recall the old A&P grocery stores. In some of the older stores, they measured the food, sugar, and coffees with the use of an old scale to determine the precise weight. When the scale balanced, you would know that you are getting what you paid for. It was an A&P tradition to give you more than you paid for. This tradition was forgotten in later years and A&P, like so many other businesses, closed their doors. I believe that businesses, and people, that give you more than you expect always succeed.

With the busyness of society, many of us feel unbalanced and not poised. The problem is that we do not give ourselves a correct balance. Life, to be happy has to give us more than we expect. That’s what prayer does. The answers to prayer are always better than what we ask for.

Some of us feel that we are not getting what we are paying for with our life. If our life was to be weighted in a scale, the scale would tip far on the side of overwork and fatigue.

To be balanced is to be stable in your life. It is more important to be stable on the inside than the outside, to be stable in our emotions rather than our physical stance. By keeping ourselves poised emotionally, we keep ourselves in balance.

God will keep you in balance. The connection to God stabilizes the most unstable conditions. With God, you are not moved by outer circumstances.

You are poised and balanced in God.

A bird on a limb is firmly fixed on his perch and is NOT dislodged by any winds that blow. This bird is also ready to seek opportunity. Balance speaks to readiness within the human being. This readiness gives the ability to take off in any suitable direction, should a sudden opportunity present itself. Through balance, you are ready to respond to life’s constant invitation to new and better opportunities.

When you are willing to be balanced, you let God know your integrity through your actions. You have time to pray, and you have the time to notice the good that God has given you. A balanced soul is the springboard to transcend your former self and your problems, and to go higher.

You lift your thoughts above the limitations of yesterday. Yesterday does not weigh you down. You are in balance and poised to go forward in life. Nothing that has seemed to bind you, to stand in your way, to frustrate you, or to make you unhappy weighs you down. You stand on a firm foundation of God and move forward with God’s help. With God you are unbound, triumphant, splendid, glorious, and free.

You have an inner poise that gives you the fuel of freedom that has nothing to do with circumstances, with conditions past or present, with what you have thought of yourself, or what others have thought of you.

You regain your balance as you allow God to gain dominion over your thoughts, over your feelings, over the circumstances and problems of your life. In balance, you hold to the realization that God is with you, and together you can transcend all things.

The balance of God sustains and upholds you as you go through the activities of daily living. You feel balanced and poised. You feel calm. With God, you are unlimited, unaffected by circumstances, connected to all wisdom, all love, and all power.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, today I give my problems completely into Your care. I keep my life open to the perfect outworking of Your will.

I recognize that God’s will for me is better than I can even begin to imagine. I rest in God and I am balanced and poised. I rely upon the justice of God. I know that God will balance all things for the equal good of all concerned. There is no limit to God’s good. I am now open and receptive to a just balance for my life.

With God’s help, I train my thinking to understand that God wills only good for all of us. I know there is nothing to fear in the outworking of God’s goodwill in my life. God is good and God’s plan can only be good for all concerned. I make myself open and receptive to God’s guidance. so that I can fulfill my part in the plan. I listen for God’s reassurance and God’s loving encouragement as I move forward, balanced in faith.

I know that God’s will for me includes balance. God’s way is the right way for me, now and always. This day, all day long, I consciously and continually thank God for the fulfillment of God’s plan for my life. As I do my part, I know that God will do the rest.

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding …

Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?

Officer: Ma’am, you were speeding.

Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Older Woman: I’d give it to you, but I don’t have one.

Officer: Don’t have one?

Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.

Officer: I see … Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

Older Woman: I can’t do that.

Officer: Why not?

Older Woman: I stole this car.

Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk, if you want to see.

The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half-drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma’am, could you step out of your vehicle please! The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Older woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.

Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please. The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma’am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.

The first officer is quite stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officer’s claims that you do not have a driving license. The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer. The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma’am, one of my officers told me you didn’t have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.

ONE: Don’t miss the boat.

TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!

THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.

FOUR: Stay fit. When you’re 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

FIVE: Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

SIX: Build your future on high ground.

SEVEN: For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.

EIGHT: Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

NINE: When you’re stressed, float awhile.

TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.

The obstacle in Our Path.

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a Roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the King’s’ wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it … Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of Vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand! Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Giving When it Counts …

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare & serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister.

I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, “Yes I’ll do it if it will save her.” As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheek. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded.

He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, “Will I start to die right away”. Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.

Positive Daily Prayer:

Dear God, I know that no storm can stand up to Your power. I have a great desire for You in my life. I seek You first. Every action of my life conveys that. I make my life a light of belief.
I know that You can heal because You are the great Creator and Regenerator. I know You can lift me up if I am ever low, or down or even depressed. I know that no former human condition has any power over me this moment.
I do give thanks because You are with me. How joyous I am that this is my day of discovery.

In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
