Positive Daily Inspiration - July 6, 2022 - PROSPERITY PRAYER

“Thou openest Thy hand, Thou satisfies the desire of every living thing.”
Psalms 145:16

With God as my continual support, I shall not want.

The Lord brings to pass my continuous good and ever-expanding prosperity. I am always provided for because I have faith in God as my omnipresent abundance.

I have faith in God as my almighty resource and I trust God to preserve me in my prosperity.

I trust in God in all the affairs of my life. I come to God because I believe that God is a rewarder of them that seek after God. I do not depend upon persons or conditions for any of my prosperity. I fully realize that persons and conditions are channels of my prosperity, but God is the source of my supply. I am the rich child of a loving God.

I cleanse my mind and I ask God to cleanse the minds of all others of any idea that my good can be withheld from me. No person, situation or event can keep from me that which God has for me right now.

My success and my future cannot be limited. God surrounds me and infills me with Divine ideas that free me from all limitation. With God’s help, I am now and forever freed from all financial limitation.

I turn on the great energy of my thinking in prayer and focus on prosperity so that God’s prosperity can focus on me. Through my free-will, I say yes to God and to God’s good now prepared for me. God’s speed now increases the velocity of my life. I am moving towards prosperity and prosperity is moving towards me. I am a magnet for its activity of good in my life.

Vast improvement comes immediately in every phase of my life now. Every day, in every way, God is making things better and better for me now. I eagerly invite the wealth of God to manifest in my life now. I release any idea held in mind that I cannot do this. I maintain ever-expanding financial prosperity for the rest of my life.

I am provided for, and I eagerly provide for others by sharing my good. I am beautifully and appropriately supplied, clothed, housed and transported. God provides supply for every need. I give thanks to God for a quick and substantial increase in my prosperity income now. I am God’s rich child! I am rich, well and happy in every aspect of my life. My life is in Divine order now.

My life is filled abundantly with loving friends and family. I give first of God’s love given to me and to all those around me.

I give first to my spiritual sources knowing that I cannot out give God. Giving is the first step in receiving, and my giving makes me rich. I freely give my 10th to God, and I reap a 100-fold increase.

My life is expanded, rich and full. I feel fulfilled as I actively move forward into my expanded good Divinely directed and lavishly prospered. I am God-guided into my perfect place to serve. I am now guided into my true place with the true people and with lasting prosperity quickly, easily and in peace. There is no lack in God. The only lack is the fear of lack itself.

I am surrounded by God’s abundance. I live, move, and have my being in God’s abundance. I think only abundant thoughts. The love of God flows easily within my life as abundance. God’s good fills my every need. Blessings – all kinds, some seemingly insignificant, some very great – come to me through God’s love. They flow from one person to another, increasing and enhancing all of our lives.

In communion with God, you give your attention wholly to God and become more aware of God’s blessings. Your heart breathes a quiet “Thank You, God” as you express your love to God and to others. Immersed in the flow of God’s good, you see how your life has been enriched. You are grateful and you give thanks to God.

Thank You, God!

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

There was a little boy who was riding across town on a city bus. He was huddled very close to a well-dressed lady and was swinging his legs back and forth, out in the aisle like kids do.

Accidentally, he rubbed his shoes up against the woman sitting across from him. She got perturbed and asked the other well-dressed woman, “Pardon me, but would you please tell your little boy to keep his feet to himself?”

The well-dressed woman looked at the boy as if she hadn’t really been aware that he was there, then shoving him aside, said, “He’s not my boy. I’ve never seen him before.”

Embarrassed, the little boy moved to another seat where he sat down as if trying to hide. It was obvious the boy was trying to fight back tears. He looked at the lady whose dress he had soiled, and he said, “I’m so sorry; I didn’t mean to.”

When the woman saw what the scolding had done to the boy, she felt badly about how she had responded. She said, “Oh honey, that’s all right. Are you going somewhere alone?”

The boy lowered his head and answered, “I always travel alone. My mommy and daddy are gone, so I live with my Aunt Maggie. But when she gets tired of me, she sends me to Aunt Elizabeth.”

The woman then asked, “Are you on your way to visit Aunt Elizabeth now?”

The boy answered, “Yes, but Aunt Elizabeth is hardly ever home. I hope she’s home, today, because it is so cold outside.”

The woman looked at the boy again and then said, “You sure are awfully young to be riding the bus alone.”

The boy piped up, “Oh, it’s OK. I never get lost – but sometimes I get awful lonely. So, when I see someone who I would like to be my family, I huddle up close to them and I pretend they are my family. That is what I was doing when I got your dress dirty. I forgot about my feet.”

Hearing this, the woman moved over to where the boy was sitting and put her arm around him. Then she hugged him in real close. She understood that what he really wanted, what he really needed, was to feel that somebody loved him.

A baby is born with a need to be loved – and never outgrows that need.

You are all here this morning and you all have needs. I have needs. We need to be loved and we need, as a human being, as a Christian, to give away our love, also. To become the best that we can possibly be, we need to give love away, to allow it to express in and through us.

Expressing more of God’s love to each other we can help end loneliness.

In 1 John 4:7-8, it reads: “Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

When we know we do not have to generate the love within ourselves and create it, but just become a conduit for the love of God through us, then we have it all. Then we have God; we have the kingdom of God; and we understand what God is about.

Love is what the sea is to a fish. It is something we swim in, all of our lives. It is something we can decide, this day, to give away and to have expressed in our lives.

I have an acronym for love:

L Letting
O Our
V Values
E Express

Letting our values express.

When this becomes the code in your life, it will add zip in your life – the zip code.

***Optional: prepare handout to be given to congregants as they leave. Do not give this ahead of time or people will read it and be bored as you present it again. Giving a tool at the door as they leave will be something that some will treasure and keep. It can even be made into a bookmark because it’s narrow. Cut-and-paste copy and play with it.

There is a wonderful story about a lighthouse off the coast of Massachusetts. It is Minot’s lighthouse. Many lonely sailors have searched for this light because it is unlike any other light in the world. The signal spells out “I love you” in nautical code.

Several years ago, the Coast Guard decided to put in modern equipment.

They felt they needed to take out the signal that spells out “I love you.” They told the public they were going to put in the regular signal that just flashes. The entire state rose up in dismay. Sailors from around the world who had been touched in the middle of the night by the lighthouse’s message protested. Finally, the Coast Guard backed down and the old equipment is still there. All night long, in fog or good weather, in nautical code, it flashes out “I love you.” Sailors from around the world have longed to go there to see that light and its message.

Author Eric Butterworth, writes: “Love is not something you do; love is being. Love is not trying; love is being. Love is not finding the right person; it is becoming the right person.”

I heard a wonderful story that at first sounded funny but has a much deeper meaning. It is about a man who had been married for over 30 years.

He returned home one evening and found his wife packing. “What in the world are you doing?” he asked.

“I can’t handle it anymore!” she replied. “We’ve done nothing but fight, argue, complain, and bicker at each other. I’ve decided to leave.”

The man stood in shock and bewilderment as his wife walked out of the house – out of his life. Suddenly, he dashed to the bedroom and pulled a suitcase down from the closet shelf. Running outside, he yelled to his wife, “I can’t handle it anymore, either. Wait for me, and I’ll go with you.”

Isn’t that what couples should do? Isn’t that what friends should do? Isn’t that what enemies should do? When one starts to walk out, let’s grab our suitcase and go with them.

Decide to live life in a new way and labor, daily, for love, to work for love in our lives. The labors of love are special because every day is payday. It will be in our lives. There is nothing that can stop the power of love in your life. That is what we are talking about today. I pray that each of us becomes ten times more loving because we are making a commitment with these ideas about God.

A young man once talked with people of many races and creeds. Each told him of the oldest thing in the world. He was determined to find it. He walked many miles and was often rewarded by beautiful vistas before him, but always when he heard of a very ancient thing and went to see it, someone told him of another much older thing. After many years, he returned home an old man, still not having found that for which he was in search.

One day, as he sat in his garden, a little girl passed, holding an old doll tenderly in her arms. He watched her smooth its rough tangled hair and speak to it as a mother would to her baby. “At last,” he said, “here is the oldest thing in the world. It is love.”

Remember the TV show “The Twilight Zone.” There was an episode about a future time when a man had been convicted of the crime of coldness. He had been insensitive and unsociable to the people around him.

For this he was sentenced to one year of invisibility. He was to be ostracized and ignored by his fellow citizens. A mark was placed on his forehead indicating that no one was to talk or interact with him.

At first, he thought the punishment was laughable. He went everywhere, laughing and thinking it didn’t bother him at all. He decided he preferred that people not talk to him. However, in time, he became increasingly desperate for companionship, affection, and conversation.

One evening, he saw a young woman who had also been condemned to invisibility. When he tried to talk to her, she fled in fright. For months, the man had a terrible time, living his life, day to day, in the solitude of isolation until his sentence finally came to an end.

The experience transformed him. He was warmer, more considerate, and caring.

But soon his new, more loving self was tested in an unexpected way. One day, he ran into the woman who he had begged to talk with him months earlier. She was still serving her sentence, and now she was the desperate one. She sobbed and pleaded with him to look at her and say something.

When he pushed by her and kept walking, she crumbled to the ground, weeping. Over and over again, she said, “You’re so cold! You’re so cold!”

Feelings of compassion welled up within the man. He turned, knelt down, and began to comfort her.

Seeing this, the other people in the street began moving away from them.

Warning devices began to sound.

A loudspeaker blared, “Unacceptable behavior. Unacceptable behavior.”

The man’s love had gone beyond the limits deemed appropriate by society.

Previously condemned for being cold, he was now condemned for being loving.

How often do you hear people say, “I love God, but it’s people I have a problem with.”

Author James Dillet Freeman, once wrote: “Some say they love God, but not men. But how can we love harmony and not music? How can we love light and not the morning? How can we love nature and not the spring?

How can we love God and not the likeness of God, which is humans?”

Love is an abstract idea until it is expressed in you and by you. We may talk about love, define love, but still not be loving. We have to break down the barriers. That is why we are here today – to break down the barrier, once and for all. To love the persons, situations, and circumstances that irritate you, challenge you, and baffle you.

To that person who seems to rub you the wrong way – right now, silently, begin to transform them with me, and begin to send them love as a secret experiment.

Be like Clint Eastwood. Sit there and think, “OK, make my day. Give me the truth of God and I am going to prove it in my life. I am going to see if this stuff really works. This is the time. This is the place.” Begin to send that person your love, right now. Don’t tell them you are doing it. Let it really be an experiment. Begin to send them love and give it until this time, next year, and just see what happens in your relationship. You have a new best friend, out there; you just don’t know it. If it is your spouse, all the better; say, “I love you. I bless you. I behold God’s love in you.”

The one who seems cold and indifferent needs love, not condemnation. To the person who seems to stand in the way of your good, who seems a threat to your security and success – let love cast out your fear. Put love into action and be loving. Erase the differences you see with your physical eyes; erase them with love. Turn any resentment into love. Agree with your adversary with love.

I want to share with you Romans 13:8-10. “Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law … love is the fulfilling of the law.” If God is love, and if I allow God to flow through me to love you, that is my religion and my body is the temple where it takes place. We do this with the present and we do it with the past.

There was a program on television about a woman who had been very bitter in her life. Her father and mother had abused her all during her youth and teenage years. It was a terrible story. Ordinarily, when you see someone who has been the victim of that kind of mistreatment and hate, they are severely affected. You could say they have a reason to be. This woman had a successful marriage. She had a wonderful husband and they had been happily married for 11 years. She was a successful lady with a professional career. Great things were happening to her. A reporter asked her, looking right into her eyes, “Why?” She thought she had not only survived but triumphed. This is something I will never forget. Listen to these words. She said, “I had more love than they had hate.” She said it just that way – direct, firm, with her chin tilted up.

Hate is the sand in the machinery of your life, but love is the oil. Love will fix you right up. If you are the tin man and are rusty because some of the things that have happened to you have not been very pleasant, give love a try. Just see what will happen to you.

1 John 3:11-15, “For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. We must not be like Cain who was from the evil tendencies and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him?

Because his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. Do not be astonished, brothers and sisters, that the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life because we love one another. Whoever does not love abides in death. All who hate a brother or sister are murderers, and you know that murderers do not have eternal life abiding in them.”

I am not talking about life after you die from the physical and neither is this Bible passage. It is talking about eternal life in your tomorrow, your Tuesday, your Wednesday. When you get up in the morning, in a good mood, you are not in a bad mood by 10:30. You have life in you and you have it abundantly. The secret is to love. Love everyone around you. The opposite is death. Death in your day is when your shoulders are downcast and you feel life is tough and a miserable existence.

You can measure a person’s worth by the size of their heart.

Five-year-olds in a Sunday school class were told to bring in something that they loved. The next Sunday, they brought in the usual hats, sweaters, and books. But one boy entered with an especially big grin. Behind him, wearing a red dress was his four-year-old sister. The best exhibit of all is something you love and are so proud of – something special.

I want those of you who have businesses to pay special attention to this next story. You have seen businesses, especially restaurants, where one goes in and it fails. Another one comes in and it fails. Another one comes in and it fails. You think it is the location. There was one woman who decided to open a business in a location where the two owners before had gone bankrupt and failed miserably. Her friends said, “You can’t possibly start a business there.”

She said, “I’m going to use a secret they didn’t use.” She decided to open up this business to test the Bible. She opened up a restaurant and a candy shop in a place where the two owners before had failed and gone out of business. She was a brilliant success. When asked how she had succeeded in the same business where others had failed, she said: “I just loved and blessed all my customers. I loved them as Jesus has taught us to do. I love the complaining man as well as the satisfied customers. When customers leave my place, I not only invite them to come back, I silently send them a blessing of love and pray for their prosperity and happiness.

“When no customers are in the store, I bless the people with love as they pass by on the street.”

Love is a power. This is great in a business, but the real place to start this is at home. Bless that place. Bless the place, even when nobody is there so when they come in, they will feel the love of God. Surround yourself with God’s love. Remember what the Bible says. You do not have to do it. You simply consent to it happening through you, and it will. Love is THE GREATEST POWER, it will never let you down.

There is nothing you or I have ever done, ever said, or ever thought that can destroy the love God has for us. God sees more in us that we see in ourselves.

Rev. Robert Schuller told a wonderful story about an artist who was painting a picture, one day. There was a beggar who sat across the street from the artist’s studio. From his window, the artist sketched the face of that defeated, outcast soul. But the artist made one important change. Into the dull eyes, he put a flashing glint of an inspired dreamer. He sketched the skin on the man’s face to give him a look of iron will and fierce determination. When the painting was finished, he called the poor man in to see it.

The beggar did not recognize himself. “Who is it?” he asked the artist. Then suspecting that there was something of himself in this portrait, the beggar hesitantly questioned, “Is it me? Can it be?”

“That’s how I see you,” replied the artist.

Straightening his shoulders, the beggar responded, “If that’s the man you see, then that’s the man I’ll be.”

We are going to begin to see people in our lives not the way our eyes tell us to see them. We are going to see them as God would see them. They will respond.

Many of you are sitting here today and you question, “What is my purpose in life?” According to the Bible, it is to love, to learn love, to master it, to give it away. It is easy in a place like this, isn’t it? The next time you are in a place where it is not so easy, do it anyway.

As our closing prayer, today, I am going to close with Author Emmet Fox’s words and make them a prayer.

Let us pray.

“There is no difficulty in my life that enough love will not conquer; no disease that enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open; no gulf that enough love will not bridge; no wall that enough love will not throw down; no wrong that enough love will not set right; it makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble; how helpless the outlook; how muddled the tangle; how great the mistake; a sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all – if only you will love enough, you will be the happiest, most powerful being in the world.”

God, today, this moment, I agree to let my light shine, my love shine, and to become love. Thank You, God.

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

God bless you!

PRAYER / MEDITATION____________________

God and I are One. This is a truth for you. Looking at others in your life, you sense certain qualities you admire much. Yet, the inward voice reminds you that to sense those qualities in others is to possess the potential within yourself. You honor the qualities of God’s Spirit, wherever they may be sensed, and you attend to the potential within yourself.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

In your deepening sense of unity with the one Presence of God, you are willing to own those qualities that are yours. They live deep within your being like gold, deep in the earth to be brought into the open, refined and given expression. You are enriched by the creation of your being.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Where there has been a sense of alienation, there is a potential for love. You attend to that sense of being connected to God in life. You honor that sense and step forward in spirituality into your world.

Where you have closed yourself to receive, there is a potential to be open to God’s gifts drawn to you. You attend to your capacity to receive and to respond with wisdom and loving appreciation.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Where there has been a sense of being deprived and having unmet needs, there is a potential from God to experience the fullness of being wonderfully human.

Do you know that you live in the midst of God’s infinite love? It is not possible for you to stray outside the boundaries of love – for God’s love is boundless.

You surrender your heart to infinite love so the love of God may be complete in you. God is the love that you feel now.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You let go of fear and confusion. They are illusions and hinder love. Faith and knowledge are supported by God’s infinite love.

You do not allow the pain of the past to mar the beauty in the present. You do not isolate yourself from the joy of living this day in total love.

All creation is an expression of love. You now let love motivate you to create and express love intentionally with words and actions.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Love is a dream when it is a feeling, but love is real when it is lived. You give life this day to the dream of love. You express God’s love now.

In the loving nature of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 5, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
Galatians 5:22, 23

I ask you to join me in prayer

The Presence of God is here. Like a heart of God’s love beating throughout your environment. You are immersed in that loving Presence. You feel the heartbeat that is beating throughout the world touching every soul.

You are a part of this heartbeat, a part of this spiritual movement. You are a part of this prayer. Today, you join your consciousness with our consciousness. Together we pray not only for ourselves, but also for those who are in other places.

We outstretch our hand in prayer to all those needing help.

For all those who are praying today, we say that GOD IS YOUR HELP. GOD IS AT HAND. GOD IS RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE.

To those who are seeking healing today, we know that God is health. If you, today, are seeking healing, know that you are in a source of healing. You are immersed in the healing power of God.

If you are seeking guidance from God, please know that you are immersed in the mind of God. The mind of God is with you. You are in the wisdom of God now. God thinks through your mind. The great Divine Mind is the great thinker through your human mind. Today, and this week you will be the receiver of Divine thoughts and Divine ideas directly from God. You are sitting in the seat of wisdom for the teachings of God.

If you are seeking prosperity in your life, please know that this entire day is about God’s blessing of prosperity. It is not a generic prosperity. It is a real lifelong prosperity for you, for your life, for the way you live.

Today, I pray that the words that we print here will have a Divine influence on your life. I pray that today you can be guided through this prayer to aid you in experiencing a more fulfilled way of life.

I pray today that there is a Divine outworking from God, through you, in this time. I pray that you feel the Presence of God and you participate in a true religious experience that begins inside of you.

In this prayer time, we are dedicated not just to be an observer, but to be a part of this ministry of answered prayer and the healing of this planet. For everyone who is seeking our help today, we are part of the answer. For everyone who is seeking help, we are part of a spiritual battery that will bring about the awareness of God so the answer can be accepted by the individual.

We are very thankful to God to be a part of this ministry, to be a part of this prayer and to be a part of this powerful spiritual awareness.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – July 4, 2022 – Independence Day (America)

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 4, 2022 - Independence Day (America)

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore.”
Galatians 5:1

NEW VIDEO – see Below.

The beauty of our great nation is only partly in spacious skies, amber waves of grain, purple mountain majesty, and fruited plains. The real beauty of America is in the potential of its people. Every country has land, but few countries have citizens with the same daring, drive, and determination of Americans. The courage of our forefathers and foremothers is part of the fabric that makes our way of life a great society. People in this day and age have the courage of the pioneers, but the expansion is not westward; it is inward. Tomorrow’s pioneers will forge new trails of spirituality.

This society needs more lights to lead the way to the kinder, gentler land envisioned in the original dream of a free nation. Today we have the freedom to become whatever we can see in mind. Let’s envision a land without violence, a land where the good of the people is manifest in prosperity and abundance, a land where crime is no longer a challenge. Working together, Americans created the industrial revolution. It is now time for a spiritual revolution.

Today marks our nation’s 246th birthday. On this day, we again say with those that have gone on before us: “In God We Trust.” It is time for us to forge ahead, beyond the greatest achievement of our past. In the past, our wondrous achievements were in the outer, but in the future our greatest achievements will be in the inner. The patriot of tomorrow will build cities with the brick of Divine reliance and on the mortar of love. “In God We Trust” will be the foundation upon which to forge a new America.

Each will accept responsibility for the renewal of America. Each of us will value individual freedoms so much that we will see the value of being involved in the system. May the future bring the day when each American will cast a vote and participate instead of criticizing from the sidelines.

The new America will see religions and churches reaching out in friendship to one another, realizing that we are all under the government of one God. Urban decay becomes gardens, darkness turns to light, and we find each neighborhood as a safe dwelling place. As we, the people, joined together in manifesting the Divine, America becomes a place of Divine order and more harmony. Where two or more are gathered together …

When millions agree to consent to God, a shift in conscious awareness will take place in every town, city, and state. A new Declaration of Independence will be made against everything not up to the God love standard. Our houses will become homes of God and our churches beacons of light, showing the way for all people to become the best they can be. Churches will no longer fight among themselves, shouting differences in doctrinal beliefs. Instead, they will work together for the upliftment of humanity.

May each American realize that the final four letters of the word American spell “I CAN.” The dream of this free nation can be realized as each person comes into his or her own. Who can change America — the national government, the state government, the local precinct, or the people who believe “I CAN”?

The vision of a perfect society is not a new one; utopia has been dreamed of ever since the story of Adam and Eve. Just because we have not fully manifested this concept in the past does not make it entirely impossible. People have the vision within them because they have the vision given to them by God. They inwardly know there is a better way, a better life, and hold eternal hope for a better tomorrow.

Moment by moment, in every area, may God make America the Beautiful.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, thank you for placing my life in the land of opportunity.
Please give me the ideas, self-resolve, and resources to follow the American freedom dream.

Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: I am a proud follower of the American dream!

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “This moment is the only one that truly exists. There are no dress reversals in life.”

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 3, 2022 - SUNDAY FUNNIES

(Submitted with our great thanks)

“Then God said, ‘Let there be light.'”
Genesis 1:3

One of the best things people can have up their sleeves is a funny bone.

Have you heard the HYMNS FOR THE OVER-50 CROWD?

1 – Precious Lord, Take My Hand … And Help Me Up

2 – It Is Well with My Soul … But My Knees Hurt

3 – Nobody Knows the Trouble I Have Seeing

4 – Just a Slower Walk with Thee

5 – Count Your Many Birthdays; Name Them One by One

6 – Go Tell It on the Mountain … But Speak Up

7 – Give Me the Old Timers’ Religion

8 – Blessed Insurance

AND MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE

9 – Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah … I’ve Forgotten Where I Parked

_____

Once upon a time, a woman died and went to heaven. When she reached the Pearly Gates she was met by St. Peter. She said, “Am I in heaven?”

He said, “Yes, you are at the Pearly Gates.”

“Do I get to come in?”

“Yes, if you can spell a word.”

“What word?”

“Any word.”

She said, “Okay, I’ll spell love.” She did and was allowed to enter.

A few minutes later, St. Peter approached her and said, “I have to leave for a minute. Would you watch the gate?”

She was astonished and said, “You want me to watch the gate?”

“Yes.”

“What do I do if someone comes up?”

“Just what I did. Ask them to spell a word.”

As she stood looking around at all the beautiful sights in heaven, she saw a man walking toward the gates. As he drew closer, the woman recognized him. It was her husband. She was shocked!

“What happened?” the wife asked.

“Well,” he replied, “I was drinking, and I had an accident and died. Am I in heaven?”

“You are at the Pearly Gates.”

“Do I get to come in?”

“Yes, but you have to spell a word … “

“What word?”

“Czechoslovakia.”

THE SOLO SOCK

By Garrison Keillor

Of life’s many troubles, I’ve known quite a few:
Bad plumbing and earaches and troubles with you,
But the saddest of all, when it’s all said and done,
Is to look for your socks and find only one.
Here’s a series of single socks stacked in a row.
Where in the world did their fellow socks go?

About missing socks, we have very few facts.
Some say cats steal them to use for backpacks,
Or desperate Norwegians willing to risk
Prison to steal socks to make lutefisk.
But the robbery theories just don’t hold water:
Why would they take one and not take the odder?

Socks are independent, studies have shown,
And most feel a need for some time alone.
Some socks are bitter from contact with feet.
Some, seeking holiness, go on retreat.
Some need adventure and cannot stay put.
Some socks feel useless and just underfoot.
But whatever the reason these socks lose control,
Each sock has feelings down deep in its sole.

If you wake in the night and hear creaking and scraping,
It’s the sound of a sock, bent on escaping.
The socks on the floor that you think the kids dropped.
They’re socks that went halfway, got tired, and stopped.

It might help if, every day,
As you don your socks, you take time to say:
“Thank you, dear socks, for a job that is thankless.
You comfort my feet from tiptoes to ankless.
Working in concert, a cotton duet,
Keeping them snug and absorbing the sweat.
And yet you smell springlike, a regular balm,
As in Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps.

“And so I bless you with all of my heart
and pray that the two of you never shall part.
I love you, dear socks, you are socko to me,
The most perfect pair that I ever did see.”

This may help, but you must accept
That half of all socks are too proud to be kept.
And, as with children, their leaving is ritual.
Half of all socks need to be individual.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

SHOW ME THE WAY

Dear God, I ask You to be my personal guide.
Inspire me and guide my every thought in my divergent life and future opportunities.
I know that You know the best way, and I ask now that You show me that way clearly.
Lead me through unknown territories.
Help me as I walk through pathways that seem, to my human eyes, to be obscure.
Clarify my thoughts, dear God.
Give me the light of Your understanding so I will know the right path to take.
I pray that I understand Your guidance and that I do not hesitate or waver.
I pray that I will decide upon a matter and know without doubt that it was the right choice for me to make.
I walk in partnership with You daily.

Thank You, God.

In Jesus Christ’s Name, Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – June 28, 2022 – Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

Positive Daily Inspiration - June 28, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.”
Isaiah 26:3

Let us pray:

Dear God, from this place, this body of believers around the world we turn to You, we are asking that a special spiritual awareness be given to each person praying.

We ask that each person being prayed for will be blessed, that God’s healing light and love will radiate through all of us and all those with whom we pray, and throughout all Creation.

What a comfort to know that God is here with us. What a reassuring thought to know that we are not alone; that, God, we can count on You. No matter what we face in our day or our night, You are with us.

Thank You, God!

This moment, as we go into our time of prayer and meditation, we lean on the everlasting arms of God. As we do so, we realize that we can allow ourselves to rest and allow God to take over.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, we come here to feel Your power. We consent, in our minds, to Your thoughts coming through us. We consent, in our physical body temples, to You infilling every cell with Your ever-new creative perfection.

Dear God, we consent to You radiating out into our daily lives, touching every person and every event. We have come here this moment to gather in united prayer; to believe in something greater than ourselves and our existence at the present time.

We have come here to believe in the power of Your Divine perfection working in and through us. We know it is happening.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Something spiritual is happening that is wonderful. There is a spiritual quickening inside every person who is hearing or reading these words that goes way beyond the words. There is a quickening of the Christ that is fused with your mind. There is a quickening that is causing you to be vital, to think clearly, and to realize that you are not alone.

Dear God, together we come to surrender the error ways and error thought. We come to surrender disease and uncomfortable feelings in our physical body temples. We come to surrender ways in our lives that are not working.

We ask for an inward inspiring of the correct path, the correct way to go. We ask for an infilling of thoughts that will feed our life and our body temple. We ask for an infilling of perfection throughout our body.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

I decree, in Jesus Christ’s name, that there is a perfection of God working through every organ in your body temple. The perfection of God works through your heart. With every beat of your heart, there is a strength that underlies your heart. There is perfection of the rhythm of the beat of your heart. There is a wonderful outworking of God through the muscles and tissues of your heart.

There is a cleansing of your blood happening that is so perfect. There is a perfection of equilibrium within your blood as it flows through the arteries and veins of your physical body temple. You are feeling the vitality of the Christ in and through you – the highest level of perfection.

Your lungs are breathing in the life of God, and they are breathing in with strength and vitality that is causing a regeneration to occur within them. Your lungs have the breath of the Almighty and the power of God.

There is a great strength in your skeletal structure. There is a great strength coming from the center of your bones and radiating out. There is a strength in all of your joints that is causing a wonderful feeling of stability on your feet. You are able to walk with perfect mobility and stand with the stability of Christ.

There is no uneasiness as you stand. You stand with God and God stands within you, holding you upright. The power of God is in your legs, your joints, your arms, and your hands. You are able to bend and move freely, and you are able to grip and do all you would like to do with an added power that is beyond your own. The life of God moves inside of you, and therefore, you move in an effortless, painless way.

The life of God is perfect digestion in you. You digest with perfection function. Your body temple takes from the food exactly what it needs and eliminates the rest. How well it works! The digestion of the Christ is working in and through you.

This moment you are feeding your body temple and your soul. You are infilling yourself with the knowledge, the vital, quickening power of the Christ. You are not alone in doing this. You are in faith, immersed in a body of believers. Each person in this collective praying is praying in the same way. There is great power within this prayer.

We are praying, now, for our town. I ask you to quickly say a prayer, silently and with great power, for the healing energy of the Christ to cover your town as an umbrella. May every person within your town be affected by the power of the Christ and the perfection that knows God is here now, working in and through our lives.

May every home know that they are covered by the Christ energy. May the Christ energy infill your home. Every room, and every person who dwells within your home will know the peace, tranquility, and love of the Christ.

There is a higher level in your thought, and the vibratory rate of your physical body temple. God is truly alive, manifesting and perfecting, inside of you, through you, in your body, in your home, to the people you touch, and to people everywhere.

Individually, each of us in this collective praying, pray that all people may know the power of God working through them. No matter what church they go to or which way they worship, may they find God on their path, and may they find the happiness we have found and that will stay with us the rest of this day and on into the night.

We give thanks for this.

I ask you to rest in the silence as we seal this prayer with our belief …

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: I am centered in God; nothing can disturb the calm peace of my soul.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “We were made to enjoy music, to enjoy beautiful sunsets, to enjoy looking at the billows of the sea and to be thrilled with a rose that is bedecked with dew … Human beings are actually created for the transcendent, for the sublime, for the beautiful, for the truthful … and all of us are given the task of trying to make the world a little more hospitable to these beautiful things.” Bishop Desmond Tutu

Positive Daily Inspiration - June 21, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of a human conceived, what God has prepared for those who love God.”
1 Corinthians 2:9

In preparing for prayer, I invite you to become still. If you have anything in your hand that might be a discomfort, please put it aside. I invite you to become still and relaxed. Relax in the seat you are sitting in. As we come to this special time of the day, realize that this is your time:

A gift from God.

This is the time that we put aside all our cares of life and we become centered in that spiritual oneness with God.

God is the precious, powerful, imminent Source that is always with you. That love of God is a refuge to which we can go to regain our strength in a time of need. As we come to this new time of the year where new beginnings are made, we renew ourselves in the knowing that we are one with the One, that one Presence and that one Power of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Jesus said, “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” So, today, we rejoice in that oneness with the Christ presence. That presence that was in Jesus Christ is also the same presence that is active in our lives, this morning, in the depths of our hearts and souls.

Now, as you relax further in a deeper state of consciousness, I invite you to let go and let that Presence be your counselor, your physician, and your helper. As we go through our quest of life, this timeless advancing of our souls, we are free. We are unlimited. Through God, with us RIGHT NOW, we have the strength to overcome any challenges of the appearances of the outside world.

So now, let us take a moment to be in the silence of prayer with God …

Dear God, we give thanks that we can come to You, anytime of the day or night. We like to go to the top. We are thankful, dear God, that You have an open-door policy and that Your door is always open to us, day or night. We give thanks that we can come to You at any moment, at any time of need. We pray this knowing our oneness with You.

In the name and through the power of Jesus Christ … Amen.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: I am open and patiently receptive to the Spirit of God working in and through me.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “If you hire only those people you understand, the company will never get people better than you are. Always remember that you often find outstanding people among those you don’t particularly like.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – June 14, 2022 – Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

Positive Daily Inspiration - June 14, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
Hebrews 13:1,2

This is a ministry of prayer. We have come to feel the power of prayer.

This is the four-step prayer technique.

First we pray for illumination.

There is but one presence and one power in your life–God the good, omnipotent. You are now in the presence of pure being. You are immersed in the Holy Spirit of light, love, and wisdom. You acknowledge God’s presence and power. All you do this day, you do in God’s presence, by God’s power and to God’s glory. There is but one presence here, one power here, in your life. Rest in the silence of prayer and accept this as true for you …

Rest of the silence of prayer …

The second prayer technique – adoration.

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all God’s benefits: Who forgiveth all thine inequities; who healeth all thine diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with loving- kindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s [Psalms 103:1-5, KJV].

Today, in this moment, we have the illumination of Jesus Christ. Receiving that awareness, we have a great adoration–a wonderful adoration–build inside of us.

It builds now, in the silence of prayer …

(Silence)

The third prayer technique – forgiveness.

In the name and through the power of Jesus Christ, I accept Your forgiveness, God, as I remember the words that were spoken through Isaiah: For thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant … thou shalt not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee [Isaiah 44:21-22, KJV].

To anyone whom I need to forgive, I say there is nothing between us but the love of God. Freely and fully, I release all thoughts of hurt, anger, and resentment. We are at peace; you and I, one with the love of God. In this moment, consent to forgiveness, the love of God flowing through you, not being stopped in any way by your opinions or judgment of another …

Rest of the silence of prayer …

The fourth prayer technique – acceptance of blessings and God’s will.

Dear God, this morning I gratefully accept the manifold blessings in my life. I accept health; I accept a wonderful, harmonious home life, a wonderful family, wonderful friends, good work and the ability and opportunity to do that. I accept abundant supply and the time to share and enjoy all the good You give. I know Your will is that I express Your love. Wherever I am, whatever I do, toward whomever I meet, joyfully I accept Your will as mine.

Rest now in the silence of acceptance in prayer …

We pray this morning in God’s illumination, in total adoration, with complete forgiveness, and with total acceptance.

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray … Amen.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: With God’s help, all my plans are worked out in Divine order.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” John Shedd

Positive Daily Inspiration – June 7, 2022 – Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

Positive Daily Inspiration - June 7, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“Be still and know that I am God.”
Psalms 46:10

What a joy to know that God is here with me RIGHT NOW. I ask you now to direct your prayers upward – not to the skies, but up into God awareness.

We are here during this prayer time to drop all our thoughts of conditions, personal desires, and personalities. We are here to center our attention in God, to think of God only, and to give thanks that God is expressing and manifesting everywhere in God’s world.

During this prayer, we speedily dissolve the old error beliefs and their counterparts in our life. During this prayer, we give everything the light and easy touch. We stop trying so hard to know that everything is as it should be. We just rest our minds, our hearts, our emotions, and our bodies in God Mind.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

When you are truly thinking only of God, you cannot struggle to do anything. It’s only when we are thinking of ourselves that we struggle and see darkness, grief, and failure.

So now we turn and think of God only.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Many of our problems are in our minds because we have made them. So now, during this prayer, we begin a Divine project. We withdraw our thoughts and feelings from the things we have invited and have built up. We call forth the power of God and rest in that thought. We watch negation fall flat and dissolve.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You abide in God. You abide in perfect order and satisfaction. There is a new life coming and coming through your God inspired actions. It is a world of peace, joy, wholeness, and success according to the direction of Christ ideals.

Dear God, I know that the solution to every problem is within Your mind. I know that others outside of myself may not be able to correctly guide me. It is only when I consecrate myself to you, and seek earnestly, persistently, and patiently to do Your will that I find real peace, strength, freedom, and wisdom.

God is our present help in this moment.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, this moment, this day, this week, we turn to You and we turn away from human reasoning, longing, and fears. You will show us the way and lead us to the fullness of Your good.

I lift my consciousness above the things of the material world, personality, and human limitation. I unfold Christ consciousness. Instead of letting my mind dwell upon problems, I allow my mind to dwell on possibilities.

I give thanks for this spiritual reasoning that is coming through my reasoning, this power that is coming through as my power! I pray for the gift of peace of mind, and that you know that God is my help in every need.

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray … Amen
