“Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God.'”
Mark 11:22

A wealthy man decided to go on a safari in Africa. He took his faithful pet dachshund along, for company. One day, the dachshund starts chasing butterflies and before long, the dachshund discovers that he is lost. So, wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the obvious intention of having lunch.

The dachshund thinks, “OK, I’m in deep trouble now!” Then he noticed some bones on the ground close by, and immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat.

Just as the leopard is about to leap, the dachshund exclaims loudly, “Boy, that was one delicious leopard. I wonder if there are any more around here.”

Hearing this, the leopard halts his attack in mid-stride, as a look of terror comes over him, and slinks away into the trees. “Whew,” says the leopard.

“That was close. That dachshund nearly had me.”

Meanwhile, a monkey, who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So, off he goes. But the dachshund saw him heading after the leopard with great speed and figured that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, “Here monkey, hop on my back and see what’s going to happen to that conniving canine.”

Now the dachshund sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back, and thinks, “What am I going to do now?” But instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn’t seen them yet … and, just when they get close enough to hear, the dachshund says … “Where’s that monkey? I sent him off, half an hour ago, to bring me another leopard.”

8. You’ve sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different companies.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, how could I not have faith in You, the Creator of the glorious universe filled with wonder and delight.

God, I am so thankful for Your love and care.

I am amazed at the extent of Your care when warm rays of sunshine that have traveled through the vastness of space touch my face. When a child reaches out in the joy of loving and touches me, I feel a greater understanding of my faith in You and Your unconditional love for me.

My faith in You increases with my growing awareness of Your presence.
As I discover more and more of the wonder and delight of Your creation,
I understand that You are saying, I am with you and within you always.

God, I am thankful for You and thankful for my ever-growing awareness of Your presence.

Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 15, 2023
SATURDAY INSPIRATION

Submitted with our great thanks)

“Peace! Be Still.”
Mark 4:39

SLOW DOWN THERAPY

1. Slow down; God is still in heaven. You are not responsible for doing it all yourself.

2. Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there. Each moment has richness that takes a lifetime to savor.

3. Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, it’s OK to tell them they are pushing.

4. Take nothing for granted: watch water flow, the corn grow, the leaves blow, your neighbor mow.

5. Taste your food. God gives it to delight as well as to nourish.

6. Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set. They are remarkable for their steady pattern of movement, not their speed.

7. Quit planning how you are going to use what you know, learn, or possess. God’s gifts just are be grateful and their purpose will be clear.

8. When you talk with someone, don’t think about what you’ll say next. Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.

9. Talk and play with children. It will bring out the unhurried little person inside you.

10. Create a place in your home at your work in your heart where you can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it.

11. Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive. Rest is not a luxury; it is necessity.

12. Listen to the wind blow. It carries a message of yesterday, tomorrow, and now. NOW counts.

13. Rest on your laurels. They bring comfort whatever their size, age, or condition.

14. Talk slower. Talk less. Do not talk. Communication is not measured by words.

15. Give yourself permission to be late sometimes. Life is for living, not scheduling.

16. Listen to the song of a bird; the complete song. Music and nature are gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.

17. Take time just to think. Action is good and necessary, but it’s fruitful only if we muse, ponder, and mull.

18. Make time for play – the things you like to do. Whatever your age, your inner child needs re-creation.

19. Watch and listen to the night sky. It speaks.

20. Listen to the words you speak, especially in prayer.

21. Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders. There will always be new opportunities for you to step out in front again.

22. Divide big jobs into little jobs. If God took six days to create the universe, can you hope to do any better?

23. When you find yourself rushing and anxious, stop. Ask yourself “WHY?” you are rushing and anxious. The reasons may improve your self-understanding.

24. Take time to read the Bible. Thoughtful reading is enriching reading.

25. Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed and efficiency. The best musician is one who plays with statement and meaning, not the one who finishes first.

26. Take a day off alone; make a retreat. You can learn from monks and hermits without becoming one.

27. Take time once a year for more than just a vacation; do something spiritual to renew you.

28. Work with your hands. It frees the mind.

29. Take time to wonder. Without wonder, life is merely existence.

30. Sit in the dark. It will teach you to see and hear, taste and smell.

31. Once in a while, turn down the lights, the volume, the throttle, the invitations. Less really can be more.

32. Let go. Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do – but often it is the best.

33. Take a walk – but do not go anywhere. If you walk just to get somewhere, you sacrifice the walking.

34. Count your friends. If you have one, you are lucky. If you have more, you are blessed. Bless them in return.

35. Count your blessings – one at a time and slowly

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, please teach me how to slow down so that I may rediscover what is missing in my life. God, help me not to miss anything.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

The fearless power of the Spirit of God goes before me and makes it easy the way.

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 14, 2023 – God Is Your Watch Keeper

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 14, 2023
God Is Your Watch Keeper

“This I know, that God is for me … in God I trust without a fear.”
Psalms 56:9-11

With God as your God, you can let go of any sense of haste, rush, or hurry. You can let go of impatience or stress. You can trust the Presence of God to be with you, through every hour of every day. You can trust God to lead and guide you, in the right, productive, and beneficial ways. As you constantly turn to God for Divine guidance, you are assured of always being in the right place at the right time. You are guided to do the right thing in the right way. Turning to God and relying on God’s God watches your time and timing helping you to be relaxed and poised.

Do you have some project that seems to hinge on right timing? You place the situation, everyone concerned, and especially yourself, in the loving care of God, knowing that God’s timing is always perfect. All things work together for your good when you look to God for guidance, for the will of God is the highest and best to which you can aspire.

When we are nervous and filled with a need to rush or hurry, we are really seeking safety in life. We have a need as humans to know that everything is taken care of.

The Spirit of God is always with you, and you are Divinely protected and watched over. You and everything that concerns you are held secure in the life, light, and love of God. Wherever you go, near or far, by whatever mode of travel, you are in God’s loving, protecting presence and under the law of God’s Divine timing. There is no place where God is not already present. As you hold to your faith, you feel God’s all providing, all-powerful, all loving, all protecting presence with you and all around you, bringing perfect timing to every situation. God’s Divine timing works at all times and in all places.

You follow Jesus, by allowing God to be your time manager. You allow God to be loving companion, your guide, your protector, your illuminator. God’s grace and miracle-performing timing power are with you now.

Knowing that God is with you, you are filled with happy, joyous, confident expectations, and you relax and enjoy the time in your life. You maintain a positive attitude that works with God’s Divine timing that will attract your highest good to you, constantly. You walk through life knowing that God is with you, and you trust without a fear.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Thank You God for being the watch keeper of my life.
Keeping me on time, and the events of my life on time.
Everything is in divine order with divine timing thanks to You.

In Jesus Christ name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:
I live within the zone of God’s perfect time keeping.
Everything is on time in my life, and I am in tune with the precision
of the exact moment for the best outcome.

Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 13, 2023 – REFLECTIONS OF FAITH

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 13, 2023
REFLECTIONS OF FAITH

“All things are possible to you if you believe.”
Mark 9:23

Your life reflects what you are feeling inside. Have you ever noticed that when you feel upset on the inside, your world around you seems to be in confusion, also? The opposite is true as well – when you feel calm and at peace, the world takes on a calmer look and feel.

When you are happy inside, it seems as if you draw happy events to yourself. When you are feeling loving thoughts, your world seems to bend over backwards to be kind and loving, back to you. With God all things are possible. Believe in God instead of giving power to things that upset you. God can bring you calm and peace. Believe in God instead of giving power to unhappy memories. God can bring you happiness and joy. These will be reflected in your life TODAY. Believe in the power of God’s love. Believe that you can live from the love of God within you, and believe in your ability to make a difference in your world. Your faith is strong, today, so you can be calm and at peace.

As Jesus did, know the security of God’s love and caring as a tremendous blessing to you, as you go about your day. With God’s love embracing you, you do not fear knowing what could happen or might happen. You do know, beyond a doubt, that the presence of God is always with you. Your confidence is only in God, and this is reflected in every aspect of your daily living.

God’s protecting presence is also with the people that you love and care about. God is their strength, as well as your strength. With your own eyes, you will see it reflected in their confidence and renewed abilities to meet life successfully.

In the middle of a crisis, you may become caught up in trying to think of some way – any way – out of it. Yet, when you pause for a moment and take a deep breath, you begin to understand that the way to peace and calm is not getting out of a situation it is going to God in prayer. With God, we can each become our own internal center of peace.

God welcomes you to a place of unconditional love. Here is where all pressure and stress melt away. Aware of the presence of God, you are also aware that the life of God strengthens you and the love of God comforts you. And most important, these wonderful qualities flow through you and are reflected in all of your life.

No matter where you are, or what you are going through, you have a sanctuary of peace and calm where you can withdraw to and be refreshed and renewed. Inner peace radiates out into all that you do and say.

Today, you choose to allow your faith to be reflected in every aspect of your life.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:
Dear God, walk through my house and take away all my worries and illnesses and please watch over and heal my family in Jesus name, Amen.

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 12, 2023 – GRACE

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 12, 2023
GRACE

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone be found boasting. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:8-10

People often ask, “What is grace?”

A woman from Nevada writes this it perfectly explains the blessing of grace.

I left work, early, so I could have some uninterrupted study time, right before the final in my Youth Issues class. When I got to class, everybody was doing their last-minute studying. The teacher came in and said he would review with us for just a little bit before the test. We went through the review, most of it right on the study guide, but there were some things he was reviewing that I had never heard. When questioned about it, he said that they were in the book and that we were responsible for everything in the book. We could not really argue with that.

Finally, it was time to take the test.

“Leave them face down on the desk until everyone has one and I’ll tell you to start,” our professor instructed.

When we turned them over, every answer on the test was filled in! The bottom of the last page said the following:

“This is the end of the Final Exam. All the answers on your test are correct. You will receive an ‘A’ on the final exam. The reason you passed the test is because the creator of the test took it for you. All the work you did in preparation for this test did not help you get the A. You have just experienced … grAce.”

He then went around the room and asked each student individually, “What is your grade? Do you deserve the grade you are receiving? How much did all your studying for this exam help you achieve your final grade?”

Now I am not a crier by any stretch of the imagination, but I had to fight back tears when answering those questions and thinking about how the Creator had passed the test for me.

Discussion afterward went like this: “I have tried to teach you all semester that you are a recipient of grace. I have tried to communicate to you that you need to demonstrate this gift as you work with young people. Do not hammer them; they are not the enemy. Help them, for they will carry on your ministry, if it is full of GRACE!”

Talking about how some of us had probably studied hours and some just a few minutes but had all received the same grade, he pointed to a story Jesus told in Matthew 20. The owner of a vineyard hired people to work in his field and agreed to pay them a certain amount. Several different times during the day, he hired more workers. When it was time to pay them, they all received the same amount. When the ones who had been hired first thing in the morning began complaining, the boss said, “Should you be angry because I am kind?”
(Matthew 20:15).

The teacher said he had never done this kind of final before and probably, would never do it again, but because of the content of many of our class discussions, he felt like we needed to experience grace.

Have you thanked God today because of the grace you have experienced?

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I realize that many times humankind are broken, I also realize You are the glue.

I pray for grace in my life.

I thank You in advance.

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 11, 2023 – Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 11, 2023
Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“The Lord is the strength of God’s people.”
Psalms 28:8

In prayer, I am drifting away from past limitations that I have placed upon myself.

Jesus Christ is here in my midst, raising me up.

With God, I am going beyond the failures I have had in my lifetime, and I am receiving a course correction from God.

In prayer, I receive the illumination and the guidance, along with the gentle comfort of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Jesus said, “You are a child of the living God.”

There is a strong connection between God and me.

God and I are connected in prayer right now.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

My life is God-given life and abundant living.

My life is strength.

My life is courage because I know, without a doubt, that God is with me.

I am patient.

I rest in God.

I am not anxious about anything.

I realize that God is working.

I let go and I let God.

God is magnificent.

How great Thou art!

There is a peace inside of me that passes human understanding.

It is at the core of my being.

It is God-given well-being.

I decree, in Jesus Christ’s name, that this feeling of well-being will stay with me, all the hours and minutes of this week.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

I have a power inside of me to climb over the hill of past failure, to realize that it is nothing at all for a climber. And I am a climber, because there is that within me that is God-given, that is giving me the power to climb and go higher.

Dear God, I wish to go up higher than I have ever gone before. I never realized Your presence, many times, in my life. I consent now to realizing it more.

Dear God, I consent this day to realizing God in a new and a profound way. I know, dear God, that You are always fresh, new, and exciting. I pray that You are all those, and more inside of me, this day. I give thanks for Your presence.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

The grace of God is working in your life right now. The grace of God is alive in every aspect of your life. The grace of God is your assurance of all good things.

In Jesus Christ’s name, I give thanks. Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 10, 2023 – When Life Becomes Challenging

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 10, 2023
When Life Becomes Challenging

“Cast your cares on the LORD and God will sustain you; God will never let the righteous fall.”
Psalm 55:22

When life becomes challenging, do you ever just want to run away from it? To a place where no one knows you, and your problems are all erased? Do you just want to find a hole, crawl into it, and hide … forever? Do you wish you were a child, again, depending upon someone else to take care of whatever life’s challenges may home? Just to be held and told that everything is all right, and there is no need to worry?

In our Bible, Deuteronomy 33:27 states, “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”

Whenever the challenges of life seem to be too much to handle – whenever you wonder what God was thinking when he laid a particular burden upon you, because surely you are not strong enough to bear it – God is there for you.

God is there to hold you, in Spirit. God guides you towards all solutions, all answers. God guides to you, all people, all resources, all sustenance that you need, each and every moment.

We imagine, in our minds, that we let go, mentally, emotionally, and physically, all that worries us, all that causes us anxiety, and all that causes us fear.

As we imagine letting go, we can imagine God’s everlasting arms holding us. Holding us closely and safely.

As we imagine being held by God, our breathing becomes easy and gentle. Our minds become calm and peaceful. Our bodies relax. Our emotions settle into Divine tranquility.

As we rest, we are renewed by God’s strength surging through us. God’s strength, God’s intelligence, God’s imagination are all ours to use within our lives. As we let go, we let God work and play through us, bringing us through our challenges and bringing us to God’s absolute peace.

Throughout the day, we are reminded that God is with us, guiding us through each and every decision. We can depend upon God to guide us, effortlessly, safely, and loving. God tells us that everything is all right; there is no need to worry.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Amen.

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 9, 2023 – HAPPY EASTER

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 9, 2023
HAPPY EASTER

Say aloud in prayer:

I am an Easter person, not confined by crucifixion, but defined by resurrection.

I have a spiritual experience of Easter through God rising up in my every thought.

I know the “God-best” is ahead of us individually and as a body of believers.

With the spring renewal of life, I have the spiritual experience of the expanded positive living.

Through the risen Christ, I am gifted with the God vision to see the good in all, and I am thankful.

Amen

The power of faith is an inspiring message, especially at Easter time.

MESSAGE of EASTER

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In His great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
1 Peter 1:3

There are four parts to the resurrection story: the trial, the crucifixion, the tomb, and the resurrection. This is not just a story of Jesus Christ from 2000 years ago. It is a story about us and for us, today.

There are many of you who have gone through a trial in the last year. Sometimes that trial has been so painful that you feel as if you have been through a crucifixion. When you experience a crucifixion, it is a human’s tendency to want to hide. You feel as if something in your life has died, and you want to put it away– you want to put it into a tomb. Maybe it is ill health in your body. Or, perhaps, you do not know how to remove the mountain of debt in your life. Or, possibly, it is disharmony in your home. Remember that if you put anything into the tomb because you think that part of your life is dead, and roll a stone in front of the tomb to seal it in, it is for self-protection. You think if you bury it, it cannot hurt you anymore.

Remember, this Easter Sunday, that if you let the light of God into the area which seems dead in your life, there WILL BE a resurrection. God is the God of resurrection — not just 2000 years ago, but inside of your life now. You are a child of God. If you want to roll away the stone in your life, if you are tired of living in the stone age of believing in doubt and human limitation, if you are ready to witness a resurrection, just ask God.

You follow Jesus by believing in things that are past appearances. You are a child of the third day – not the first. As children of the third day, we believe in eternal life, past the temporal problem that has bogged us down. Human greatness is achieved when we follow Jesus in this way. We do not relive in our minds the pain of yesterday, we believe in glorious tomorrows.

History is written through a rearview mirror, yet it unfolds through a foggy windshield. God can show you the way, guiding you through the maze of life, to a more successful and better tomorrow.

On this Easter morning, we follow Jesus, by having our own personal resurrections. We ask God to lift us above our personal trials, personal crucifixions, and even our tomb experiences in our own lives. We are ready on this Easter to rise above former doubt and human limitation.

Jesus Christ said, “I am the Resurrection and the life … whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
John 11:25-26

This pertains to any area of your life that seems dead right now. Christ is the Resurrection. When you experience the Resurrection (whether at Easter, or any other time), you will find you are not the same – you are better. You will have a new body. You will have a new life. You will have new happiness. You will have new relationships, friends, and companions. You will have new good spring forth in your life.

The empty tomb had a message for the disciples then, just as it has for us now.

It says to science and philosophy, “Explain this event.”

It says to history, “Repeat this event.”

It says to time, “Blot out this event.”

It says to faith, “Believe this event.”

The message of Easter is death of the death idea through the death of Jesus Christ.

You have two choices in your life: to live the external, or to live the eternal.

Jesus said that what He did, you can do also. You do not have to wait for the big challenges in life to ask for God’s help. You can resurrect the small things in your life.

Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches.”
John 15:5

The message of Jesus Christ is the message of the third day, NOT the first. The Resurrection is a fact. Jesus moved beyond the trial, the crucifixion, and the tomb to new life. He was seen by countless witnesses after his death. The very fact that the disciples changed so dramatically from a scattered and scared group, fleeing in separate directions, to such decisive people taking the actions that they took, shows us that something dramatic took place. A miracle of miracles occurred on that Easter morning,

POSITIVE EASTER PRAYER:

I pray this Easter you have a personal resurrection in your life at the point of your need. No matter how great your challenge, God is greater! God has a perfect idea for you and your need. God has a perfect way for you to travel. You can travel unharmed. God is paving your way before you. God is busy bringing your good to you from the endless wellspring that flows directly from God to you. God is your perfect health. God is your perfect prosperity. God is your answer. You will experience a resurrection in your life and circumstances of your life. Quiet your doubting mind and allow that Christ to come forth.

These things are decreed in prayer for you in the nature of the resurrected Jesus Christ whom we follow. Amen

EASTER WEEKEND INSPIRATION

The U in JesUs

Before U were thought of, or time had begun, God even stuck U in the name of God’s Son.

And each time U pray, you’ll see; it’s true. You cannot spell out JesUs – and not include U.

You’re a pretty big part of His wonderful name. For U, He was born; that’s why He came.

And His great love for U is the reason He lived.

It even takes U to spell United with God.

Isn’t it thrilling and splendidly grand that He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?

The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth at His Upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.

“Go into the world and tell them it’s true. That I love them all – Just like I love U.”

So many great people are spelled with a U. Don’t they have a right to know the love of JesUs through U?

God is one with U.

EASTER STORY COOKIES

To be made the evening before Easter – Made with children’s help!

You need:

1 cup whole pecans

1 tsp. Vinegar

3 egg whites

pinch salt

1 cup sugar

zipper baggie

wooden spoon

tape

Bible

Preheat oven to 300 degrees (this is important-do not wait until you are half done with the recipe)!

Place pecans in zipper baggie and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested. He was beaten by the Roman soldiers.

Read John 19:1-3.

Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp. Vinegar into mixing bowl.

Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, He was given vinegar to drink.

Read John 19:28-30.

Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus came to give us life.

Read John 10:10-11.

Sprinkle a little salt into each child’s hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus’ followers, thinking wrongly all was lost.

Read Luke 23:27.

So far, the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is He loves us. He wants us to know we are children of God and belong to God.

Read Psalms. 34:8.

Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents – in God’s eyes – the purity of those whose full forgiveness has been accepted and realized.

Read Luke 1:77.

Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper-covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus’ body was laid.

Read Matt. 27:57-60.

Put the cookie sheet in the oven; close the door and TURN THE OVEN OFF.

Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus’ tomb was sealed.

Read Matt. 27:65-66.

GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus’ followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed.

Read John 16:20 and 22.

On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow!

On the first Easter, Jesus’ followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty.

Read Matt. 28:1-9

Share the Easter Cookies with Friends and Family

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I live my life as God’s love in action this Easter weekend. So, when I use my gifts from God, I am honoring God in helping to bless family and friends, coworkers, and strangers.

As I share who I am with others, I am sharing the love and wisdom of God that is being filtered through me. I share an enthusiasm for life, blessing myself and others through giving expression of God’s gifts.

I know that I am never alone. I am a beloved child of God, and I reflect this to everyone that looks upon me. I show that God has been with me through the darkest of nights as well is celebrating with me in my greatest triumphs.

I reflect my faith so that others may see God’s light. May others feel a connection with God through their connection with me. If any people that I come in contact with are lonely or afraid, they automatically feel the comfort of God through the realization that they feel the comfort of God and the warmth of God’s presence.

May others, who feel a lack of self-worth, re-catch the vision by looking at my life. We are all precious creations of God, and God will always help us over the rugged places on the path of life. May others see my life is a living testimony without my saying a word, that God never leaves any of us alone. It is God’s desire to see each one of us succeed.

May I help others to become fearless this Easter because I myself am fearless. With God, none of us has anything to fear. No matter what may be going on in any of our lives, may we each know that God is present and willing to have us lean on God for continuous help.

May I follow Jesus this Easter. May I carry the presence of God with me so that others will know that it is forever a part of them.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – April 7, 2023 – GOOD FRIDAY

Positive Daily Inspiration - April 7, 2023
A Positive Daily Inspiration Classic
GOOD FRIDAY

“And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. When they had twisted a crown of forms, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” Matthew 27:27-29

Why do they call Good Friday “good” when it was the day that Jesus was crucified? To all appearances it was the end. To all human senses the worst of humankind seemed to be victorious … AND YET THERE WAS MORE! It was just the darkness before the dawn – The dawn of awakened humanity.

Jesus Christ was tried before Pontius Pilate in the Roman praetorium inside the Antonia Fortress. Here, Roman legions were garrisoned overlooking the Temple of Jerusalem. This large pavement area has been unearthed, consisting of huge limestone blocks, each weighing several tons.

Archaeologists have discovered an interesting game dating back to the New Testament. Etched into the stone pavement of the praetorium is a playing board for game known among the Roman soldiers as “King for a Day.” The soldier who threw his dice on just the right shape won the game. His reward was to be “King for a Day.”

As King, the soldier was dressed in a beautiful purple robe imported from the city of Colossae, where the special purple dye was extracted from seashells. In addition to the robe, the “King” received a crown, scepter, and anything else he wished, but there was one big catch. At the end of the day, the “King” was put to death.

This game sheds new light on the Romans mocking and scourging of Jesus. They beat him, dressed him in a purple robe, gave him a crown of thorns, and told him that he could make demands to save himself. By mocking Jesus, the Roman and Herodian soldiers saw an opportunity to play the “King for a Day” game in a perverse and twisted manner.

But Jesus was not an ordinary man; he was extraordinary.

Jesus rose as he said he would. Jesus was not confined to the tomb. Jesus lives, and his teachings live, because of what happened on Easter weekend.

Many of us have Good Friday experiences in our own lives when we believe all is lost. Then we look to God, and our lives are resurrected into newness. There is new hope and new belief in tomorrow and new gladness to be alive.

Many readers are going through your own personal resurrections. Some of you have been fired. Some of you have gone through downsizing. Some people reading this have lost trust in someone they trusted in so much. Some have been facing divorce or the death of a loved one. Some of those reading this no longer see their children and they feel a crucifixion every time they think of their children. Some are having creditors beating down the doors of their inner peace.

Most of you have gone through your own crucifixions in the past, and, hopefully, you have discovered the good that the Good Friday truth brings – that there is life after seeming death.

We are Easter people. We are defined more by our resurrections than our crucifixions. I wish you a happy Good Friday in knowledge of a loving God that is everywhere present, accessible, and available to you now. No matter where you may be or what you may face.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I know that no matter how bleak the outlook seems …
there is yet more.
Because You are by my side.
I have reason to hope.
I have reason to believe in more.
Dear God, You are the more in my life.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen
