A Story of Six Boys (Submitted)

Each year I am hired to go to Washington, DC, with the eighth-grade class from Clinton, WI where I grew up, to video their trip. I greatly enjoy visiting our Nation’s Capital, and each year I take some special memories back with me. One spring trip was especially memorable.

On the last night of our trip, we stopped at the Iwo Jima memorial. This memorial is the largest bronze statue in the world and depicts one of the most famous photographs in history — that of the six brave soldiers raising the American Flag at the top of a rocky hill on the island of Iwo Jima, Japan, during WW II.

Over one hundred students and chaperones piled off the buses and headed towards the memorial. I noticed a solitary figure at the base of the statue, and as I got closer he asked, “Where are you guys from?”

I told him that we were from Wisconsin “Hey, I’m a cheese head, too! Come gather around, Cheese heads, and I will tell you a story.”

(James Bradley just happened to be in Washington, DC, to speak at the memorial the following day. He was there that night to say good night to his dad, who has since passed away. He was just about to leave when he saw the buses pull up. I videoed him as he spoke to us, and received his permission to share what he said from my video. It is one thing to tour the incredible Monuments filled with history in Washington, D.C., but it is quite another to get the kind of insight we received that night.)

When all had gathered around, he reverently began to speak. (Here are his words that night.)

“My name is James Bradley and I’m from Antigo, Wisconsin. My dad is on that statue, and I just wrote a book called “Flags of Our Fathers”. It is the story of the six boys you see behind me. “Six boys raised the flag. The first guy putting the pole in the ground is Harlon Block. Harlon was an all-state football player. He enlisted in the Marine Corps with all the senior members of his football team. They were off to play another type of game. A game called ‘War.’ But it didn’t turn out to be a game.

“Harlon, at the age of 21, died with his intestines in his hands. I don’t say that to gross you out, I say that because there are generals who stand in front of this statue and talk about the glory of war. You guys need to know that most of the boys in Iwo Jima were 17, 18, and 19 years old.

(He pointed to the statue) “You see this next guy? That’s Rene Gagnon from New Hampshire. If you took Rene’s helmet off at the moment this photo was taken and looked in the webbing of that helmet, you would find a photograph … a photograph of his girlfriend. Rene put that in there for protection because he was scared. He was 18 years old. Boys won the battle of Iwo Jima. Boys. Not old men.

“The next guy here, the third guy in this tableau, was Sergeant Mike Strank. Mike is my hero. He was the hero of all these guys. They called him the ‘old man’ because he was so old. He was already 24. When Mike would motivate his boys in training camp, he didn’t say, ‘Let’s go kill some Japanese’ or ‘Let’s die for our country.’ He knew he was talking to little boys. Instead, he would say, ‘You do what I say, and I’ll get you home to your mothers.’

“The last guy on this side of the statue is Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian from Arizona. Ira Hayes walked off Iwo Jima. He went into the White House with my dad. President Truman told him, ‘You’re a hero.’ He told reporters, ‘How can I feel like a hero when 250 of my buddies hit the island with me and only 27 of us walked off alive?’ So you take your class at school, 250 of you spending a year together having fun, doing everything together. Then all 250 of you hit the beach, but only 27 of your classmates walk off alive. That was Ira Hayes. He had images of horror in his mind. Ira Hayes died dead drunk, face down at the age of 32, ten years after this picture was taken.

“The next guy, going around the statue, is Franklin Sousley from Hilltop, Kentucky. A fun-lovin’ hillbilly boy. His best friend, who is now 70, told me, ‘Yeah, you know, we took two cows up on the porch of the Hilltop General Store. Then we strung wire across the stairs so the cows couldn’t get down. Then we fed them Epsom salts. Yes, he was a fun-lovin’ hillbilly boy. Franklin died on Iwo Jima at the age of 19. When the telegram came to tell his mother that he was dead, it went to the Hilltop General Store. A barefoot boy ran that telegram up to his mother’s farm. The neighbors could hear her scream all night and into the morning. The neighbors lived a quarter of a mile away.

“The next guy, as we continue to go around the statue, is my dad, John Bradley from Antigo, Wisconsin, where I was raised. My dad lived until 1994, but he would never give interviews. When Walter Cronkite’s producers or the New York Times would call, we were trained as little kids to say, ‘No, I’m sorry, sir, my dad’s not here. He is in Canada fishing. No, there is no phone there, sir. No, we don’t know when he is coming back.’ My dad never fished or even went to Canada. Usually, he was sitting there right at the table eating his Campbell’s soup. But we had to tell the press that he was out fishing. He didn’t want to talk to the press.

“You see, my dad didn’t see himself as a hero. Everyone thinks these guys are heroes, ’cause they are in a photo and on a monument. My dad knew better. He was a medic. John Bradley from Wisconsin was a caregiver. In Iwo Jima he probably held over 200 boys as they died. And when boys died in Iwo Jima, they writhed and screamed in pain.

“When I was a little boy, my third-grade teacher told me that my dad was a hero. When I went home and told my dad that, he looked at me and said, ‘I want you always to remember that the heroes of Iwo Jima are the guys who did not come back. Did NOT come back.’

“So that’s the story about six nice young boys. Three died on Iwo Jima, and three came back as national heroes. Overall, 7,000 boys died on Iwo Jima in the worst battle in the history of the Marine Corps. My voice is giving out, so I will end here. Thank you for your time.”

Suddenly, the monument wasn’t just a big old piece of metal with a flag sticking out of the top. It came to life before our eyes with the heartfelt words of a son who did indeed have a father who was a hero. Maybe not a hero for the reasons most people would believe, but a hero nonetheless.

On this Memorial Day, let us never forget from the Revolutionary War to the current wars, the in-between that sacrifice was made for our freedom. Remember to pray praises for this great country of ours and also pray for those still in unrest around the world. Thank God for being alive and being free at someone else’s sacrifice. Every day that you can wake up free, it’s going to be a great day. You are free because some vet served to keep you free.

“I will put my trust in God.”
Hebrews 2:13

A man decides to try horseback riding, even though he has had no lessons or prior experience. He mounts the horse unassisted and the horse immediately springs into motion.

It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the man begins to slip from the saddle. In a panic, he grabs for the horse’s mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. He tries to throw his arms around the horse’s neck, but he slides down the side of the horse, anyway.

The horse gallops along, seemingly ignorant of its slipping rider. Finally, giving up his tenuous grip, the man attempts to leap away from the horse and throw himself to safety.

Unfortunately, his foot becomes entangled in the stirrup, and he is now at the mercy of the horse’s pounding hooves as his head is struck against the ground, over and over.

As his head is battered against the ground, he is mere moments away from unconsciousness when, to his great fortune, Bobby, the Wal-Mart greeter, sees him and quickly unplugs the horse.

Thank God for heroes.

It was a bitter cold day in a western city. A small boy stood shivering on a steel grate in the sidewalk. His clothes were thin and tattered. A woman, appropriately dressed for the weather, stopped, and engaged the youngster in conversation. He was indeed a child of the street. The compassionate stranger took him to a clothing store and outfitted him from head to foot, including cap, scarf, and gloves. The lad was filled with joy and gratitude. He could not thank her enough. As they said good-bye and walked in opposite directions, the elated boy turned back to ask, “Are you God’s mother?”

The gentle woman answered, “Oh no! I’m just a child of God.”

Whereupon the smiling lad remarked, “I knew you were related.”

A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran, she prayed, “Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late! Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late!” As she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off and started running again. As she ran, she once again began to pray, “Dear Lord please don’t let me be late! … But don’t shove me either.”

One night Mike’s parents overheard this prayer: “Now I lay me down to rest, and hope to pass tomorrow’s test. If I should die before I wake, that’s one less test I have to take.”

A little boy’s prayer: “Dear God, please take care of my daddy and my mommy and my sister and my brother and my doggy and me. Oh, please take care of yourself, God. If anything happens to you, we’re gonna be in a big mess.”

A five-year-old said grace at family dinner one night. “Dear God, thank you for these pancakes.” When he concluded, his parents asked him why he thanked God for pancakes when they were having chicken. He smiled and said, “I thought I’d see if God was paying attention tonight.”

Johnny had been misbehaving and was sent to his room. After a while he emerged and informed his mother that he had thought it over and then said a prayer. “Fine”, said the pleased mother. “If you ask God to help you not misbehave, God will help you.”

“Oh, I didn’t ask God to help me not misbehave,” said Johnny, “I asked God to help you put up with me.”

A Sunday School teacher of preschoolers was concerned that his students might be a little confused about Jesus Christ because of the Christmas season emphasis on His birth. He wanted to make sure they understood that the birth of Jesus occurred for real. He asked his class, “Where is Jesus today?”

Steven raised his hand and said, “He’s in heaven.”

Mary was called on and answered, “He’s in my heart.”

Little Johnny, waving his hand furiously, blurted out, “I know, I know! He’s in our bathroom!!!”

The whole class got very quiet, looked at the teacher, and waited for a response. The teacher was completely at a loss for a few very long seconds. Finally, he gathered his wits and asked Little Johnny how he knew this. Little Johnny said, “Well … every morning, my father gets up, bangs on the bathroom door, and yells, ‘Good Lord, are you still in there?!'”

(Submitted with our thanks)

“Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”
1 Peter 3:8

This gentleman in his own words said, on March 22nd, “I was en-route to Washington, DC for a business trip.

“It was all so very ordinary, until we landed in Denver for a plane change. As I collected my belongings from the overhead bin, an announcement was made for Mr. Lloyd Glenn to see the United Customer Service Representative immediately.

“I thought nothing of it until I reached the door to leave the plane, and heard a gentleman asking every male if they were Mr. Glenn. At this point I knew something was wrong and my heart sank.

“When I got off the plane, a solemn-faced young man came toward me and said, ‘Mr. Glenn, there is an emergency at your home. I do not know what the emergency is, or who is involved, but I will take you to the phone so you can call the hospital.’

“My heart was pounding, but the will to be calm took over. Woodenly, I followed this stranger to the distant telephone where I called the number he gave me for the Mission Hospital.

“My call was put through to the trauma center where I learned that my three-year-old son had been trapped underneath the automatic garage door for several minutes, and that when my wife had found him, he was dead.

“CPR had been performed by a neighbor, who is a doctor, and the paramedics had continued the treatment as Brian was transported to the hospital. By the time of my call, Brian was revived, and they believed he would live, but they did not know how much damage had been done to his brain, nor to his heart. They explained that the door had completely closed on his little sternum right over his heart. He had been severely crushed.

“After speaking with the medical staff, my wife sounded worried but not hysterical, and I took comfort in her calmness.

“The return flight seemed to last forever, but finally I arrived at the hospital six hours after the garage door had come down. When I walked into the intensive care unit, nothing could have prepared me to see my little son lying so still on a great big bed with tubes and monitors everywhere.

“He was on a respirator. I glanced at my wife who stood and tried to give me a reassuring smile. It all seemed like a terrible dream. I was filled-in with the details and given a guarded prognosis.

“Brian was going to live, and the preliminary tests indicated that his heart was OK, two miracles in and of themselves, but only time would tell if his brain received any damage.

“Throughout the seemingly endless hours, my wife was calm. She felt that Brian would eventually be all right. I hung on to her words and faith like a lifeline. All that night and the next day Brian remained unconscious. It seemed like forever since I had left for my business trip the day before.

“Finally at two o’clock that afternoon, our son regained consciousness and sat up uttering the most beautiful words I have ever heard spoken. He said, ‘Daddy, hold me,’ and he reached for me with his little arms.

“By the next day he was pronounced as having no neurological or physical deficits, and the story of his miraculous survival spread throughout the hospital. You cannot imagine the wonder and awe!

“We took Brian home; we felt a unique reverence for the life and love of our God that comes to those who brush death so closely. In the days that followed there was a special spirit about our home. Our two older children were much closer to their little brother. My wife and I were much closer to each other, and all of us were very close as a whole family. Life took on a less stressful pace. Perspective seemed to be more focused, and balance much easier to gain and maintain. We felt deeply blessed. Our gratitude was truly profound.

“The story is not over. Almost a month later to the day of the accident, Brian awoke from his afternoon nap and said, ‘Sit down Mommy. I have something to tell you.’

“At this time in his life, Brian usually spoke in small phrases, so to say a large sentence surprised my wife. She sat down with him on his bed, and he began his sacred and remarkable story.

“’Do you remember when I got stuck under the garage door? Well, it was so heavy and it hurt really bad. I called to you, but you couldn’t hear me. I started to cry, but then it hurt too bad. And then the ‘birdies’ came.’

“’The birdies?’ my wife asked puzzled.

“’Yes,’ he replied. ‘The birdies made a whooshing sound and flew into the garage. They took care of me.’

“’They did?’

“’Yes,’ he said. ‘One of the birdies came and got you. She came to tell you I got stuck under the door.’

“A sweet reverent feeling filled the room. The Spirit was so strong and yet lighter than air. My wife realized that a three-year-old had no concept of death and spirits, so he was referring to the beings who came to him from beyond as ‘birdies’ because they were up in the air like birds that fly.

“’What did the birdies look like?’ she asked.

“Brian answered, ‘They were so beautiful. They were dressed in white, all white. Some of them had green and white. But some of them had on just white.’

“’Did they say anything?’

“’Yes,’ he answered. ‘They told me the baby would be all right.’

“’The baby?’ my wife asked confused.

“Brian answered. ‘The baby lying on the garage floor.’ He went on, ‘You came out and opened the garage door and ran to the baby. You told the baby to stay and not leave.’

“My wife nearly collapsed upon hearing this, for she had indeed gone and knelt beside Brian’s body and seeing his crushed chest whispered, ‘Don’t leave us Brian, please stay if you can.’

“As she listened to Brian telling her the words she had spoken, she realized that the spirit had left his body and was looking down from above on this little lifeless form.

“’Then what happened?’ she asked.

“’We went on a trip,’ he said. ‘Far, far away.’ He grew agitated trying to say the things he didn’t seem to have the words for.

“My wife tried to calm and comfort him and let him know it would be okay. He struggled with wanting to tell something that obviously was very important to him, but finding the words was difficult.

“’We flew so fast up in the air. They’re so pretty Mommy,’ he added. ‘And there are lots and lots of birdies.’

“My wife was stunned. Into her mind the sweet comforting spirit enveloped her more soundly, but with an urgency she had never before known. Brian went on to tell her that the ‘birdies’ had told him that he had to come back and tell everyone about the ‘birdies.’ He said they brought him back to the house and that a big fire truck and an ambulance were there. A man was bringing the baby out on a white bed and he tried to tell the man that the baby would be okay, but the man couldn’t hear him. He said the birdies told him he had to go with the ambulance, but they would be near him. He said they were so pretty and so peaceful, and he didn’t want to come back. Then the bright light came.

“He said that the light was so bright and so warm, and he loved the bright light so much. Someone was in the bright light and put their arms around him, and told him, ‘I love you, but you have to go back. You have to play baseball, and tell everyone about the birdies.’ Then the person in the bright light kissed him bye-bye. Then whoosh, the big sound came and they went into the clouds.

“The story went on for an hour. He taught us that ‘birdies’ were always with us, but we don’t see them because we look with our eyes, and we don’t hear them because we listen with our ears. But they are always there, you can only see them in here (he put his hand over his heart). They whisper the things to help us to do what is right because they love us so much.

“Brian continued, stating, ‘I have a plan, Mommy. You have a plan. Daddy has a plan. Everyone has a plan. We must all live our plan and keep our promises. The birdies help us to do that because they love us so much.’

“In the weeks that followed, he often came to us and told all, or part of it, again and again. Always the story remained the same. The details were never changed or out of order. A few times he added further bits of information and clarified the message he had already delivered. It never ceased to amaze us how he could tell such detail and speak beyond his ability when he talked about his birdies. Everywhere he went, he told strangers about the ‘birdies.’ Surprisingly, no one ever looked at him strangely when he did this. Rather, they always got a softened look on their face and smiled.

“Needless to say, we have not been the same ever since that day, and I pray we never will.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – May 27, 2022 – PRAY WITH THE SPIRIT AND THE MIND

Positive Daily Inspiration - May 27, 2022 - PRAY WITH THE SPIRIT AND THE MIND

“I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the mind also.”
1 Corinthians 14:15

MY HAND IN GOD’S

Each morning when I wake, I say,
“I place my hand in God’s today”.
I know God will walk close by my side
My every wandering step to guide.

God leads me with the tenderest care
When paths are dark, and I despair –
No need for me to understand
If I but hold fast to God’s hand.

My hand in God’s! No surer way
To walk in safety through each day.
By God’s great bounty I am fed.
Warmed by God’s love, and comforted.

When at day’s end I seek by rest
And realize how much I’m blessed,
My thanks pour out to God; and then
I place my hand in God’s again.
-Florence Kellogg

A town had been experiencing a bad drought. The people prayed and fasted for rain. The entire community got ready for a big prayer service schedule the following Sunday to pray for rain. Sunday came, and as the people came to church, the priest stood at the front gate, furious. He said, “Go home!” I’m not doing the prayer service for rain!”

The people in the congregation said, “But Father, we fasted and believed.”

“Believe?” said the priest, “Then where are your umbrellas?”

True faith changes your mind and heart. If you do not keep on thinking in accord with the prayers that you have made; you do not get good results.

All thought is formative, and all thought has effect on your life. When some of your thought energy is expended in negative beliefs and feelings, and you show that you are focused on the worst that can happen, you tend to receive old negative results. For where your focus goes, the results surely follow.

I believe the word “prayer” and “expectations” are almost interchangeable. What are you truly expecting when you pray? Are you expecting negative results or positive results?

You have a very decided part to play when you pray: you are to cease worrying; you are to cease being anxious; you are to cease thinking and speaking of the past; you are to concentrate your attention upon the Truth of God, and the truth of your own being. You are to focus your attention on the very things you would like to see taking place in your life.

Those who receive spiritual help are the ones who place their undivided faith in God and bring their thinking in line with God’s truth.

Jesus said, “When you pray, believe you have ALREADY RECEIVED!” This is total expectation. When you pray believe you have ALREADY received. Do not judge by appearances but judge by faith in God.

Miracles happen as a person lives in expectation instead of living in doubt.

A woman in North Carolina read about how Jesus spoke of the faith power that we have to remove mountains. There was one mountain between her cabin and the sea shore. She went on her front porch and decreed, “Through the power of Jesus Christ, I command the mountain to be cast into the sea.” She went to bed, and the next morning arose and went out on the front porch, and gazing at the mountain she shouted, “Just as I expected!”

True prayer is spoken in doubtless faith with total expectation. True prayer has total focus upon God instead of the problem. True prayer believes and accepts the good of God in the moment that it is spoken.

IRRADIANCE

Oh, fill me with Thy presence, Lord,
That love may shine through me
To quicken that same presence, Lord,
In all whose eyes can see.

Oh, fill me with Thy presence, Lord,
That wisdom may be mine
To share Thy light with all who need
To let their own light shine.

Oh, fill me with Thy presence, Lord,
To guide what power I wield,
That it may ever strengthen good,
And be from ill a shield.

“Oh, fill me with Thy presence, Lord –“
But need I longer wait?
Thy presence hath been given me,
To live and radiate!

Positive Daily Inspiration – May 26, 2022 – LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

Positive Daily Inspiration - May 26, 2022 - LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

“Let not your hearts be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me.”
John 14:1

Think about these words that Jesus spoke. The key to overcoming and rising out of dark or unhappy states of mind, lies in these two words:

Let Not!

Let not, in other words, do not permit, do not allow your heart to be troubled. Many times when the Bible refers to heart, it means, the heart of your mind, or memory mind.

Often, people let themselves feel down and oppressed. Sometimes people let negative thoughts, and feelings take over in them.

You have the power given to you by God to take command of your thoughts and feelings; to affirm with authority, that God is with you and greater than any appearance in the world. The presence of God with you is greater than any fear and greater than anything that seems to limit or bind you.

You do not allow your heart to be troubled.

You believe in God and God’s help with you in this moment.

You take a positive stand.

With God’s help you put negation out of your mind by refusing to permit it to stay with you. The mind is like an apartment house of thought, and you decide today to take control and evict the negative tenants that have taken up residence in your mind. As you “Let Not” the negative thoughts and focus on positive thinking, clouds of depression are lifted and you become free.

Let not ill health to have the ultimate power.

You carry the cure with you for dis – ease. The body has a natural immunity to dis – ease, but even greater than this natural immunity is the spiritual immunity that faith and prayer and affirmations of positivity buildup in us. You are the carrier at the cure!

Let not unhappiness to rule.

You should not wait until there is some appearance of unhappiness to affirm uplifting states of mind. Your constant, conscious realization of your oneness with the life-giving, miracle power of God is preventive prayer which keeps you from reacting or responding to fearful suggestions or giving way to belief in negativity.

In Mark 5:36, our Bible states, “Do not fear, only believe.”

When you know that you are connected with God and God is connected with you, you realize there is nothing to fear. You begin to enjoy life again and to accept its glorious rewards. When our Bible says, “Only Believe,” it is surely NOT saying to only believe in the negative and the worst that can happen.

Let not doubt – only believe!

Scripture says to believe the best, to have faith in the best, and to think the best.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I thank You that healing is a constant activity of the God life within me. As the renewal of the cells, organs, and tissues takes place, I feel healed and invigorated.

Dear God, I thank You, that healing is also taking place in my thinking. Help me replace negative, unproductive thoughts with images of wellness, prosperity, order and love.

I accept healing of my whole being – my total self.

Positive Daily Inspiration – May 25, 2022 – BECOME EMPTY, SO YOU MAY BE FULL

Positive Daily Inspiration - May 25, 2022 - BECOME EMPTY, SO YOU MAY BE FULL

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and established thou the works of our hands upon us”
Psalms 90:17

You empty your mind of thoughts of fear, and fill your mind with thoughts of peace, praise, and expectation of God’s good. You know that you are God’s beloved child, heir to all God’s good. God’s Divine love uplifts, renews, and prospers you.

In the Bible God says to you, “I will pour down upon you a blessing so great that you will not have room to hold it.” Many times, the reason we don’t have room to hold it IS we are so filled with ourselves.

Usually when you hear the term “filled with oneself” you think about the ego. Some of us are not filled so much with ego as we are filled with fear, worry, and anxiety.

We must empty ourselves and be filled with faith. The Bible shares a story about cleaning a glass cup. It says in part, that for the glass cup to be clean, it must be cleaned on the inside first, not just on the outside. Of course, as with every Bible story, it is a teaching on how we live our lives – it is not talking about a glass cup – it is talking about us.

You empty yourself of negativity of any kind and you fill yourself with the Divine ideas that are strong, capable, and ready to help you.

You empty yourself of defeatism and you feel yourself with thoughts that are ready to work, ready to try, and ready to succeed.

You empty yourself of cynicism, and you fill yourself up with trust in God.

You ask God to equip you and give you the needed abilities and understanding.

You ask God to guide you to your right place, and to provide the right channels for your highest good.

You will receive – because you have the room to receive it.

The more you empty yourself, the more you will be filled with faith in the prospering love of God. You will be filled with strength and encourage to do all that needs to be done by you.

You empty yourself of unhappiness, and you give thanks for God’s infinite love, and it inspires you to be fully filled with happiness and creativity. You give thanks and God’s perfect love fills your mind with rich ideas that become manifest in your life as abundance of every good thing.

You live a blessed life because you choose to be emptied and re-filled with God’s blessings.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Today, I trust that God will guide me to the ways and means through which my needs and desires will be realized. The time I spend in prayer is accumulative, it’s spiritual interest constantly grows day and night. It can never be depleted. I praise God for the substance that fills me, for through it, my every need is met.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: God is in charge of my life. God heals and strengthens me.

Positive Daily Inspiration – May 24, 2022 – Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

Positive Daily Inspiration - May 24, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in God my heart trusts.”
Psalms 28:7

This moment we join in prayer, we join together in united faith – to pray and to believe the highest about God and the miracle workings of God into manifestation.

This is a special appointed time in which we unite in love and faith to pray for ourselves and others. We give thanks for this wonderful opportunity of faith in this household of prayer, knowing that those we hold in mind and heart are one with the power of God – that glorious power that does the healing, loving, fulfilling work within each of us.

The power of Jesus Christ quickens you. He says, “I am one with you always”.

We hold these words of Jesus close to our hearts throughout this prayer, and as we unite in prayer now, we give thanks for God’s presence and for the Divine power God demonstrates in our lives.

We are one with a great power – the power of God–that is constant and enduring. As we pray together, we look to this all-encompassing power, knowing that God is the mainstay of our lives.

I ask you now to prepare for this time of prayer with a period in the silence of prayer …

We know that the power of God is with us now. We are blessed by peace and security, strength and wisdom. Our minds are eased, and our bodies are relaxed now. In this awareness of peace-giving power we affirm aloud in positive prayer:

Through the power of Jesus Christ, I am blessed with peace.

(Silence)

God’s power that blesses you with peace in every cell of your body temple. In every muscle and bone in your physical body you have the peace of Christ now. The Christ peace is something that infills you and flows through you. Your mind is one with the peace of Christ and you relax into the presence of God with you and surrounding you.

You do not worry or be afraid about anything. You only have a consenting power that consents to God’s perfect guidance and help. To every cell we say, “Peace, be still.” To every organ we say, “Peace be still.” To every nerve and nerve-ending we say, “Peace, be still.” The calm peace of God flows in and through you now, relaxing you at the core of your being.

(Silence)

There is, with you, an unlimited source of power as a gift of God that inspires and guides you, that reveals right answers to you and leads you on the path to greater good. As you let go of any feeling of worry, stress, or strain and still your thoughts, you know that as you relax you are becoming an open channel of Divine wisdom.

Inspiring ideas come to you in the stillness. You feel the power of Divine wisdom gently guiding you and enabling you to make a wise choice in every matter. Your life is productive. Your life is fulfilled. Trusting in this inspiring power, we claim aloud in prayer:

Through the power of Jesus Christ, I am blessed with wisdom.

We accept this now, in the silence of prayer …

Jesus said, “Your faith has made you well.” You are well and whole. You are one with God’s Divine healing power. This power now radiates throughout your cells, tissues, and organs with a strength that is greater than any condition.

As you let go of your fear and any anxiety held within your body temple, you surrender to God’s healing power. God’s healing power is moving in you now, renewing, and revitalizing your body temple.

You are an outlet of God’s healing power. You are infused with wholeness, and are generating strength and vitality. Your mind and body are rejuvenated and revitalized. God’s healing power, through your consent, is now moving in and through you. Healing is coming forth now. You surrender to it.

Affirm out loud in prayer:

Through the power of Jesus Christ, I am blessed with healing.

You accept this now, in the silence of prayer …

Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” We are reminded now of the unlimited inheritance we have as spiritual beings. We give thanks for this inheritance and for the blessings of peace, power, and freedom that fill our lives.

With a faith that is strong, we once more release our concerns to the greatest power – the power of God. With thoughts focused on open doors to opportunity and good, we affirm out loud in prayer:

Through the power of Jesus Christ, I am blessed with abundance …

You accept this now, in the silence of prayer …

The light of God surrounds me;
The love of God enfolds me;
The power of God protects me;
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is!

Thank You, dear God … Amen.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: My life is now under the law of God’s order, always corrected and well again.
