GOD NEVER STOPS HEALING YOU

The number of injuries a typical human being can endure is astounding. This became visible, one day, years ago, when I was doing a seminar to make a point about God’s design of innate healing within the human body. Several hundred men and women were gathered in a large room. Two or three thousand strips of red cloth were prepared and we asked each person to fasten or tie a red strip over any part of his or her body that had been wounded in some way – a cut, a broken bone, a knife wound, a scar, or some other body part that was hurt and then healed.

Many men and women needed ten or more strips. For some people, the entire right side of the body, head to ankle, was brilliant red; on others, red almost covered the head, for some, both arms and legs. When the exercise was over, the room was a sea of red.

I asked the question: “Are you healed now?” Most said that they had entirely healed. God designed the body to be self-renewing. We damage it and it repairs itself in a most miraculous way. The body is constantly regenerating and building itself anew. This is the way God designed you.

I was born in 1951. I saw a 1951 Cadillac the other day, it was all rusty and up on blocks. This was the finest car of its day and yet, because it is not self-renewing, it is ready for the dump. In comparison to this 1951 Cadillac, I look good, especially if you’re grading on a curve. The reason for this is “regeneration.” There is not one cell in my body or mind that is over seven years of age. Each cell constantly replaces itself with a new cell.

Medical doctors and scientists tell us that every seven years, each cell in your body and mind has replaced itself with a new one. You could say, correctly, that I am just seven years old. You, too, are just seven years of age. Seven years from now, you will be a brand new person. Think about being a brand new person every seven years.

If you or someone you know is sick right now, this is a very reassuring message of hope. The sickness, or the hurt in the body, has come to pass. Even as we speak, it is passing out of you and your experience.

I believe that all healing is spiritual; and doctors and medicines aid in the natural healing process created by God.

Can you cooperate with the spiritual healing process? Yes! The first step in all spiritual healing is to believe. You take this step as you open your mind and heart to believe in God’s infinite power and possibility. You cooperate with God by believing that healing is a dynamic and reachable experience. You maintain a patient and loving attitude, for you believe that the healing activity of God is now at work in your mind and body, and in all the conditions of your life. No matter what your need for healing may be — in body, finances, or in relationships — you look forward with joyful expectation to the perfect wholeness that God is now bringing into manifestation.

You believe in the loving, healing power of God within all people. You believe in God’s constant expression of perfect good in and through all facets of life. You believe and give thanks that healing is a reality that can be experienced, right now. You rest in the certainty of the healing power of God at work around the clock, seven days a week, nonstop, in you and in those you love. You know that, with God, all things are possible.

I would like to share with you the following words which were found in old St. Paul’s Church in Baltimore, dated 1692:

Desiderata.

ARE YOU PASTEURIZED?

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with just judgment.”
John 7:24

Sometimes, ordinary things can teach us extraordinary truths about God and about ourselves. For example, if you were to look inside your refrigerator, you would probably find a carton of milk.

First of all, what you see is not the milk; what you are actually seeing is the vessel that contains the milk. When you see the carton you know and trust that the milk is inside. You associate the carton with the milk. It’s the same with you. When I look upon you, I see a body, a vessel for something much greater.

“Do you not know that you are God’s Temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are.” I Corinthians 3:16, 17

On the carton of milk it may say, “It’s real.” That, too, could be said of you. You have a possibility of being your true self if you choose to be, of being genuine, not artificial.

Often, we look at ourselves only as a carton, but we are more. We are real, not temporal, but eternal. No matter what shape our carton is in, the inner contents (the soul) has the potential of a state of perpetual perfectness.

On the carton it says, “Grade A.” In the school of life, I believe that God loves you so much that God would desire to give you an A. You might think of some test where you didn’t score well, but you are here today, better for the experience. Each person handles life to the best of his or her ability to do so, and the more we rely on God’s ever-present help, the more A grades we will acquire in this classroom that we all reside in called life.

The milk is pasteurized. We, too, are pasteurized if we live the Jesus Christ way of life. It is a past-your-eyes — a looking-beyond the appearance type of life, looking beyond something that is in your life right now. Instead of allowing a challenge to defeat you and bring you down, you know that you can go past it. You know that you can move mountains with God’s help, because that which is within you is greater than the world.

Do you know what the most negative statement ever made is? It is, “I’ve got to see it before I can believe it.” Let’s change that around to, “I’ve got to believe it before I can see it.”

Pasteurizing involves heating milk to a temperature of between 131 and 58 degrees Fahrenheit to destroy all harmful bacteria. Christianity says that that can happen inside of you, too. There is an allegory of the cleansing fire, the purification that happens to us. It can happen in an instant inside your life. The heat of a God-centered life transmutes the negativity inside of us, and we go through a purification process toward a total, complete cleansing.

Are you pasteurized? You become “pastor-ized” when you turn to God with your total being. That is what it’s like to be a minister — a pastor. It is that point in our development where we get out of the way and do good things for other people. We let God’s love shine through us to humankind. All milk is homogenized. Homogenized is something we too must strive for. It means blending together or atonement (at-one-ment): wholeness, at one with God, at one with each other. Love is the homogenizing process. Love is a creative energy that comes from God and flows through us to bond us together for the good of humankind. We are praying at Positive Christianity that the whole world becomes homogenized in God’s pure love.

Our milk carton state that vitamins A and D are added. We too must add vitamins A and D to our daily life. What are vitamins A and D? Vitamin A in your life is the (A)ffirmative prayer vitamins. The vocal prayer vitamin of positive affirmation affirms the truth of God even when our eyes cannot yet see it.

Example: I may have a sickness in my body, but looking past my eyes I affirm in prayer that, with God’s help, I can again be in absolute health and wholeness. I am immersed in a God of perfection that is not sick, that created me, re-creates me, and gives me life and health, continually.

As I affirm that truth of God, the idea feeds my body and it spreads throughout my mind in my belief system. This type of prayer is pure faith in God and it produces perfection in my living, changing carton of life.

Then, I add to my life vitamin D the vocal prayer vitamin of denial. I deny and say no to old fear-based, doubting belief. Jesus says let everything you say, say Yay Yay (Yes Yes), or Nay Nay (No No). We have the power to say no to lack-of-faith thoughts. We have the power to say no to worry. Old thoughts occupy valuable space in our life. Our minds must have a mental housecleaning to bring in the fresh new ideas of God’s truth. We can say yes to the ideas that we desire and no to old limiting thoughts. We deny that old beliefs have any power over us because God is with us. With God’s power, we deny worry and fear the power to destroy our lives. Let’s clean out our “thought house” so we can better receive the Divine ideas of God.

I hope we all become dairy farmers, but with a spelling like this: D A R E – Y – to dare to go beyond the norm in our lives. To dare to go beyond what we thought to be true about ourselves, yesterday. To dare to be great to produce a life that is real, pasteurized, and homogenized “Grade A,” with vitamins A and D added.

As you begin to envision life “past-your-eyes,” life will churn out good for you! __________________________________________

A healing Pastor came to a church. There was a long line to see him. It was a little boy’s turn in line and he said it was his hearing.

So, the healing Pastor grabbed his ears and said a prayer.

The Pastor let go and asked, “How’s your hearing now?”

“I don’t know … it’s not till Friday,” replied the boy.

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.

After explaining the commandment to “Honor thy father and thy mother,” she asked, “Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?”

I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an area Chaplain came to visit her. This Chaplain was a very young female with long blond hair. She listened to the lady who was ill and left her a small gift for comfort. It was a tiny ceramic frog.

The next day, one of the people from the lady’s church came to visit. The lady told her friend about the beautiful young Chaplain who had come to visit her. The friend was so impressed with the way the lady had improved and felt the need to talk to the young Chaplain. In her search to find the young gal, she was repeatedly reassured that the chaplains are never very young and that there was never a woman who fit the description given. Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting nurse entered the room and noticed the ceramic frog. The nurse made the comment “I see you have a guardian angel with you,” as she held the little frog. We asked why she made the comment and we were informed that the frog stood for: (F) Fully (R) Rely (O) On (G) God

THE DOCTOR AND THE APPLE

It is said that at the University of Chicago Divinity School, each year, they have what is called “Baptist Day.” On this day each one is to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area. Every Baptist Day, the school would invite one of the greatest minds to lecture in the theological education center.

The story is that one year they invited Dr. Paul Tillich. Dr. Tillich spoke for two and a half hours, “proving” that the resurrection of Jesus was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book.

He concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection, the religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who, in fact, never rose from the dead in any literal sense.

He then asked if there were any questions. After about 30 seconds, an old, dark-skinned preacher with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the back of the auditorium.

“Docta Tillich, I got one question,” he said as all eyes turned toward him. He reached into his sack lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it.

“Docta Tillich” … CRUNCH, MUNCH … “My question is a simple question,” CRUNCH, MUNCH.

“Now, I ain’t never read them books you read … ” CRUNCH, MUNCH ” … and I can’t recite the Scriptures in the original Greek” … CRUNCH, MUNCH … “

I don’t know nothin’ about Niebuhr and Heidegger” … CRUNCH, MUNCH … He finished the apple.

“All I wanna know is: This apple I just ate – was it bitter or sweet?”

Dr. Tillich paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: “I cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven’t tasted your apple.”

The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag, looked up at Dr. Tillich and said calmly, “Neither have you tasted my Jesus.”

The 1,000 plus in attendance could not contain themselves. The auditorium erupted with applause and cheers. Dr. Tillich thanked his audience and promptly left the platform.

Six Personality Traits to Admire and Acquire

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. God is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. … In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From God’s temple God heard my voice; my cry came before God, into God’s ears.”

1. Selflessness:

In a world where many people don’t have the time or the interest in others, selflessness is a quality that seems to be less and less common, and therefore more in demand by society. People can be selfless in the time they give, the ability to listen, their level of patience and the love that they give. Those who are giving and generous in nature have the power to make others feel loved, appreciated and special. These people become godlike. While those who are self-absorbed tend to do the exact opposite.

2. Tolerance:

Those people who are tolerant make us feel comfortable with who we are and special as individuals. All of us are different, and many of us have quirks and idiosyncrasies. After all, these differences make the world go round. Having the ability to accept people for who they are and not expect them to be who we want them to be is important in life, happiness and in the health of our relationships. These people exhibit the tendencies of God.

3. Genuineness:

Having the ability to be real, authentic and honest is unique in a world where we put so much emphasis on the superficial. Feeling comfortable in one’s skin and being true to one’s self is one of the most beautiful traits one can possess. To have a REAL relationship with someone requires honesty … it requires hearing and giving input or feedback that may not always be popular … it means having the strength to tell it like it is and to not be afraid to face the consequences for doing so … it means loving people for who they really are … deep down … and not for what they appear to be. It is godlike to be genuine.

4. Sensitivity:

So often we are focused on what is important to ourselves that we can forget about those around us. Those who are sensitive are often thoughtful, appreciative and loving, in a way that makes you feel understood, valued and respected. Often, sensitive people are also self-aware, making them mindful of how they impact others with what they do and say. We value God’s relationship with us because of the sensitivity of caring for our needs, and we prize people that do the same.

5. Integrity:

The cynical, will call this characteristic especially difficult to find in today’s world. In a time when people will do things that are underhanded to make an extra buck and do what feels good in the moment without necessarily thinking of the consequences, integrity is a characteristic that is especially unique today. God always shows integrity towards us, and following God we must show integrity towards others.

6. Humility:

Whether someone is super-smart, extremely talented or drop-dead gorgeous, there is something extra special about them if they don’t come across as though they know it all the time. Humility in those that possess extraordinary traits make others feel special too. It is a spiritual trait that the mature human reflects.

What do you think of when you hear the word “protection”?

Security – A sense of knowing that no matter where your path may lead, you take each step in safety and in the assurance that you cannot go where God is not, for God is always with you.

Confidence – An attitude of meeting life with faith instead of fear, with courage instead of doubt; the attitude which comes when we understand that through the power of God with us we can handle any situation that may arise, fearlessly.

Serenity and peace – A protection from ourselves and our lowest thoughts that bring nothing but anxiety and disbelief in our ability to handle a situation. A knowingness that proclaims that God’s mighty help is with us.

Do you have a special memory of the time when you felt safe and secure, loved and protected? In remembering again this special time, you can know that this is the way God’s loving protection makes you feel.

Your thoughts become filled with love, security and confidence. Your mind rises higher than its own thought and finds the serenity and peace of God. Protection, and all that this word calls to mind, is yours. In any time of need, the love and power of God are your protection.

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in God, and God will act.”
Psalms 37:5

No matter how complex the problem, there is always a God-given answer that is right for you. All of us go through an occasional period when we feel ensnared by problems.

Momentarily, we may be entangled in a web of doubts and confusion. Yet, something within us reminds us, again, that Divinely right solutions are not found in blind resistance. At such times, we need to release our will and way over to the ever-present help of God. We know that what we can’t do for ourselves, God can do for us!

In order to turn an adverse situation into a blessing, you relinquish anxiety about the problem. You become still. You pray. You open your mind to the Divine solution.

You commit your way to God; you give yourself readily to learning and following God’s perfect plan for you. God’s will is wholly good and the loving wisdom of God’s infinite mind will guide you.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

RIGHT NOW, this moment, dear God, I release my problems to You in one complete gesture, without holding back anything. I release my anxiety, doubts, and confusion. I ask that You will give me the ideas to quickly solve my problems with God-speed, perfection, and ease. God, I ask that You will show me the way. Divine wisdom provides me with the right answers.

Dear God, I have not always known that Your will for me is ever-present, everlasting good. I have not always known that You are with me as an abiding presence, the instant answer to every problem, the abundant supply for my every need. I have not always been ready to accept the good that You offer in every situation, because I have not always known that Your presence and help is ever at hand.

Today, I am ready, with all my heart, to accept Your help, advice, and guidance. I am ready to accept the good that You have prepared for me. All doubts and fears have left me. With Your empowerment, I feel free and unlimited. I ask that You give me the vision to see the solution to my problem and the focus to see new opportunity that is at hand.

I thank You, God, that, at the right time and in the right way, Your solutions are manifest.

Your good comes to me and all concerned in Divine order; and in regular sequence, there is a steady stream of God’s good pouring into my life and into all lives from every direction.

“You have stripped off the old self with its practices and have clothed yourself with the new self.”
Colossians 3:9-10

The greatest gift we can ever give to ourselves is to know, in this moment, that God is with us. We are not alone. We are positive about our lives. We are filled with God’s strength and security. Our faith, wisely, is in God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

God is my steady, eternal resource. My soul is one with the Spirit of God, and this Spirit can’t want for anything. There is, no longer, anything in me that feels incomplete, inferior, or insecure. My whole being is satisfied and fulfilled. I know what I want to do and to be. God, with Your help, I have the faith to begin. As I begin, I know that I will not be doing this alone; You will begin with me.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, with You, I will have the courage to keep on keeping on, because You will empower me every step of the way, and guide my feet as they take the next step. I trust in You completely, and I know as I trust, my courage strengthens, broadens, and increases. I have courage.

I now have the faith to begin and the courage to keep on. Dear God, I have the understanding to know what I desire and work toward: I am ready. You are with me; you are a part of my mind and body. You have given me dreams and have not left me alone with my dreams. You are with me, making me equal to every dream and every situation. God, I thank You for being a part of my life and my future.

Dear God, You are my strength. No matter what today looks like, I will have the strength to go forward because Your strength is empowering me. Your strength is in my feet, my legs, my hips, my back, my arms, and my hands. Within my mind is the wisdom of God.

God’s strength is in my emotions. I am happy. Right now, a movement of God is working its way through every atom and cell.

Today, I am concentrating, in prayer, on that indefinable feeling of being complete and perfect in our own being. This is not only occurring in the future, but is complete now. I am with the Divine perfection, and whole, right where I am.

Through the power of Jesus Christ, I decree that I am in God and God is in me. I am complete. I am whole.

Accept this now, in the silence of prayer …

Yes, God, I am positive about my life. I am filled with strength and security.

Yes, God, my faith is in You.

“You are wise in Christ”
1 Corinthians 4:10

The child in school, the man or woman on the new job, the person taking a driver’s test, the college student, the musician learning a new piece of music, the actor learning a new role — all are tuning in to the Mind of God, whether they realize it or not.

Take the next 60 seconds, close your eyes and go to God. Tap in to the all-knowing wisdom of God.

Ask your question.
Seek the knowledge.
Listen.
Wait in patience.
Move as God directs.
Know, often more wisdom is given as needed in your forward movement.

All real wisdom originates in the Mind of God. When we relate this idea to ourselves, we realize how far-reaching are the implications. All the wisdom we need, all the comprehension we need, all the abilities that we need come to us and through us, from the loving Mind of God. Our mind is connected to its Source.

This is wisdom beyond knowing, it is at a level higher, giving us true understanding. It is like viewing a problem from a mountaintop, instead of the lowest valley. There is an overall ability to see, and comprehend beyond the normal abilities of the human mind.

Often, we find ourselves locked within our own human thoughts that are responsible for disquieting our emotions. We think a thought that we know we should immediately release, by casting it out of our mind. But, unwisely, we hold to it and let it gain importance in our mind. We do not need to let ourselves give way to mental imaginings that stir up unhappy or fearful feelings. We can take firm hold of our thought processes. The emotional poise and peace we desire can be ours through God’s help.

1 Peter 3:4, says, “The imperishable jewel of a … quiet spirit.” When we quiet ourselves in prayer, it helps us to relax and to let go of any disturbing thoughts or feelings. Then, we are no longer blocked; we open our minds to the wisdom of God.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I am quiet spiritually within and without.
I let go of any disturbing thought or feeling, with God’s help.
I feel a new ease in my body and a new poise flooding through my whole being.
I rest in God and all is well.
I know that with God’s presence with me — nothing in the world around me can disturb me, and nothing that any person says or does can rob me of my peace and poise.
I am one with the all-wise, all-knowing Mind of God.
Wisdom flows through me.
I am filled with understanding and I am receptive and opened to Divine ideas.
I think clearly, I learn, I understand, I comprehend, because I have a God-given, infinite capacity for learning.
Like my dear Jesus, I have the Mind of God coming through my mind, giving me the power and ability to be a clear-thinking individual.
