“Your God shall bless you in all ways with INCREASE, and in all the works of your hands.”
Deuteronomy 16:15

A young woman, facing a seemingly insurmountable problem, tried to find some possibility of solution. Suddenly, she remembered something her mother had impressed upon her as a child: “If you put forth the effort, God will give the increase.” It has, also, been said, “God helps those that help themselves.”

When she thought about this, immediately, her mind cleared. She began to put this idea to work. Very shortly, a door opened where before there had seemed no door. Her efforts led to the perfect solution of the problem and many blessings were added.

God gave the increase.

Sometimes, it appears like I run out of ideas, and then I remember that God is as full of ideas – as I am out of them!

God gives the increase of ideas, vitality, and energy, and even opportunities. But we have to do our part. Let us contemplate what effort we can put forth to bring good into our lives. Let us put our best efforts into maintaining a positive, constructive outlook.

Let us put our trust in God, and know that God’s power and authority are at work in all that concerns us. Let us listen to our inner guidance in prayer. We will see our way, clearly.

God will give the increase in guidance as we put forth the effort to sit in the silence of prayer and wait for it. If we make an appointment with God, God will keep that appointment. We will know what to do and we will do it with a happy and a trusting heart. As we put forth the effort, God will give the increase.

Today, I will put forth the effort to think constructively.

Today, I will put forth the effort to speak positive words that are true and uplifting.

Today, I will put forth the effort to be kind in my dealings with others.

Today, I will put forth the effort to treat others as I wish to be treated.

Today, I will put forth the effort to refrain from judgment and gossip.

Today, I will put forth the effort to find joy in helping others.

Today, I will put forth the effort to be aware of God’s loving presence with me, every hour.

Today, I will put forth the effort to know that God is in charge of my life and all is well.

Today, I will put forth the effort to take positive actions on any idea that God gives me. I will put feet on my prayers.

Today, I will put forth the effort to listen in prayer so that I am guided by Divine wisdom.

Today, I will put forth the effort to also trust God’s power at work within persons and situations that concern me. I will place my loved ones, lovingly, in the hands of God. God Spirit, ever active in them, is greater than any appearance. God’s life, love, power, and wisdom sustain them, in all their ways.

Today, I will put forth the effort to know that God is working in the world to establish peace and concord among all humans and nations.

Today, I will put forth the effort to walk and talk with God.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, help me to increase my drive and motivation so that I put
forth the effort needed in my life this day.
I ask humbly that You will give me the increase.
Increase my business success,
increase opportunity,
increase my career path.
Increase my relationships.
Bless my life, dear God, with increase.

Over breakfast one morning, a woman said to her husband, “I’ll bet you don’t know what day this is.”

“Of course, I do,” he answered as if he was offended, and left for the office.

At 10:00 a.m., the doorbell rang and when the woman opened the door, she was handed a box of a dozen long stemmed red roses. At 1:00 p.m., a foil-wrapped, two-pound box of her favorite chocolates was delivered.

Later, a boutique delivered a designer dress.

The woman couldn’t wait for her husband to come home.

Lessons for Living

1. Respect others, even if they don’t respect you. Later in life they may remember that respect.
2. Love with your whole heart. It may be broken, but you can’t say that you never loved.
3. Treat animals with kindness, and it will be repaid to you a hundredfold.
4. Be honest with the people you love. Honesty really IS the best policy.
5. Admit your mistakes; it shows you are human.
6. Learn from your mistakes, but don’t dwell on them. Negative thinking will only make you depressed and that’s not good for you, or those around you.
7. Tell your family often that you love them. You never know when it will be the last time you get to say it.
8. Never tell others that their dreams are stupid or dumb. Each of us is entitled to our dreams. Who are we to say they won’t come true?
9. Realize that the only person you can change is yourself.
10. Be thankful for everything you have. Knowing you are blessed isn’t arrogant or cocky if you’re truly thankful for your blessings.

It played like a scene from a holiday movie — a mystery couple, who didn’t leave their names or numbers, walked into a restaurant, finished their meal and then set-off a chain reaction of generosity that lasted for hours.

That’s just what employees at the Aramingo Diner in Port Richmond said a man and a woman did during their breakfast shift one Saturday morning.

“It was magical. I had tears in my eyes because it never happened before. I’ve been here for 10 years and I’ve never seen anything like that,” said Lynn Willard, a waitress.

Willard and other waitresses told NBC Philadelphia that the couple started the chain reaction by paying double: for their own meal and for the tab of another table of diners at the restaurant.

There’s no evidence that one group of diners knew the others.

“I could not believe it … and it continued and continued, it was very nice,” said Willard. “They asked us not to say anything until they left, but we said ‘Happy Day, that person picked up your tab.'”

For the next five hours, dozens of patrons got into that same holiday spirit and paid the favor forward.

The diner’s manager said not one person was concerned about price of the check which averaged between $12-$30.

“It was a surprise to all of us, the girls were even taken aback,” said Linda.

“Those who took the check also tipped the waitress. So, nobody had to do anything other than pass it on and that’s what they did. They just passed it forward.”

It’s a true story that proves how a small gesture of kindness can create some magic.

Show me my purpose so that I may fulfill it.

Ephesians 5:14

This is the key.

You are alive! You think about what it means to be alive, really alive. You are alive with the life of God. You have strength; you have power; you have energy; you are alive!

You are alert! To what are you alert? You are alert to the opportunities that God provides you in this day. You are alert to all the beauty of the world you live in. You are alert to the goodness of life.

You are awake! You are awake, truly awake to the powers and possibilities that are yours as God’s child. You are awake to the inspiration and guidance of God. You are awake to what Jesus said about you, and your goodness, with the potential to be the salt of the earth.

You are joyous! You are joyous because you know that God’s will for you is good. You are joyous because you know that you can never be separated from God’s loving presence.

You are enthusiastic about life! You enter into the feeling of enthusiasm that these words foster in you. The enthusiasm of God wells up in you. You are enthusiastic about this day. You are enthusiastic about life.

You are happy! In Psalms 144:15, our Bible states, “Happy the people to whom such blessings fall! Happy the people whose God is the Lord!”

Like a magnet blessing flow to you. Silent complainers block blessings.

You are happy today because nothing that faces you has power or importance over the power of God with you, right now. Nothing is important enough in your life to keep you down because God has the power to keep you up.

No matter what the challenge may be, you can be joyous and enthusiastic about life because of your connection to God. If you are to be joyous and enthusiastic, you must begin to think, right where you are, in joyous and enthusiastic terms. Wherever you find yourself, there are reasons for joy, and there are reasons for enthusiasm, for God is with you. God’s joy and enthusiasm have been with you all along, waiting for you to give expression to them. As you give expression to these Divine qualities that are innate in you, you invite joy and enthusiasm to be permanent residents in your life.

So, today, affirm in prayer, “I am joyous and enthusiastic about my life.”

Constantly look around you to find reasons to smile, even reasons for happy laughter!

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:
