Today I’m sharing a comedy piece with great truth.

We are on a trip that we ALL wanted to take, however sometimes we take trips that we shouldn’t.

This is a trip that I do NOT want you to go on.

I had not really planned on taking a trip this time of year, and yet, I found myself packing rather hurriedly. This trip was going to be unpleasant and I knew in advance that no real good would come of it.

I’m talking about my annual “Guilt Trip.”

I got tickets to fly there on “WISH I HAD” airlines. It was an extremely long flight. I kept my baggage which, I could not check. I chose to carry it myself all the way. It was weighted down with a thousand memories of what might have been.

No one greeted me as I entered the terminal to the Regret City International Airport. I say international because people from all over the world come to this dismal town.

As I checked into the Last Resort Hotel, I noticed that they would be hosting the year’s most important social event, the “Annual Pity Party.” I wasn’t going to miss that great social occasion. Many of the town’s leading citizens would be there.

First, I met the three members of the Done family –

Could Have Done.

Then, I met the “I Had” family –

Old wish, and his clan,

Opportunities Not Seen In The Present

Opportunities Missed

Opportunities Lost.

The biggest family there was the Yesterday’s. There were far too many of them to count, but each one had a very sad story to share.

Then, the Shattered Dreams family made their appearance, and It’s Their Fault family regaled us with stories and excuses about how things had failed in their lives.

Each story was loudly applauded by Don’t Blame Me and I Couldn’t Help It.

Well, to make a long story short, I went to this depressing party, knowing that there would be no real benefit in doing so. And, as usual, I became very depressed.

As I thought about all the stories of failures brought back from the past, it occurred to me that all of this trip and the pity parties can be canceled by ME!

Knowing this, I left the City of Regret, immediately and left no forwarding address.

Am I sorry for the mistakes I’ve made in the past? YES! But there is no physical way to undo them.

So, I urge you if you’re planning a trip to the City of Regret, please cancel your reservation now.

Instead, take a trip to a place that I have discovered called Starting Over Again. I like it so much that I have now taken up permanent residence there.

Entering into this very special time of prayer is like entering a garden where we sow seeds of God’s Truth and reap bountiful harvests of peace, wisdom, health, joy, and prosperity.

As we quiet our thoughts and prepare the fertile soil of our minds, let us realize this Truth of God.

We relax in this beautiful garden of prayer and allow this vision of God’s light, life, and love to fill the depths of our innermost selves. In the quiet gardens of our hearts and minds, we turn to God and feel the inflow and outflow of God’s peace. Say aloud:

Now, gently, we turn our attention to the light of God. Just as flowers and plants turn to the light and welcome its nourishing rays, we turn to God’s light for the wisdom and inspiration that make our paths clear.

The light of God is our perfect guide in all that we think and do. As we calm our thoughts and allow the light of God to illumine our minds, we receive new insights and perspectives that help us act wisely. We let the light of God lead us to healthy, happy living.

This is our prayer for ourselves and for others. Say aloud:

GOD’S GUIDING LIGHT OPENS MY MIND. I KNOW WHAT TO DO AND I DO IT.

Take a moment in the silence of prayer and allow this Truth of God to unfold in your mind and heart …

Turning our attention to healing helps us to remember that God is our source of unfailing life, everywhere present, within all people and in every living thing. Just as the rain freshens and cleanses the earth, the nourishing, revitalizing life of God quickens and renews every cell of the body temple. By holding to this truth, our receptivity to health and wholeness grows.

By prayerfully cultivating our seeds of faith in the prospering love of God, we reap bountiful good. In God’s perfect timing, we look forward to the blossoming of abundance that fills our every need.

I was telling this to a wonderful friend of mine the other day at McDonald’s.

He said, “If continuous prayer is so important and if it is to be a way of life, why is church necessary?

I loved this. I had French fries in front of me. I took one French fry out of the pack and laid it aside. Now the French fries were piping hot. But in 30 seconds, or less, the French fry I laid aside was stone cold.

I said, “Feel that French fry. Now feel these other French fries.”

The ones together – were still piping hot.

“Where 2 or 3 are gathered there am I in their midst.” – Jesus Christ

We are much more powerful when we are united, than on our own.

Of course, the ultimate power comes when we are continuously united with God.

An old farmer was sitting on his front porch, rocking back and forth in his rocking chair, looking over his land. As he walked to the mailbox, he saw a man approaching.

He went back to his chair and rock some more, still looking over his land. The young man went into the yard of the farmer and the old man sat there and said, “Can I help you, young man?”

As he looked this way and that way, the young man said, “You are the farmer of this land, aren’t you?”

The old man said, “Yes, I am.”

The young man said, “I am a salesman. I sell books.

I have a book, here, that will teach you how to farm 10 times better than you are now farming.”

The old farmer just continued to rock. Soon he said, “Young man, I don’t need your book.

I already know how to farm 10 times better than I am doing.”

We often become lazy working independently. This is why Jesus always sent out His disciples in pairs. You stay motivated, doing better than you would do alone, when working with another.

When one is tired, the other is awake.

When one wants to give up, the other is driven.

Like the farmer, we often know that we could be doing better than just accept getting by.

God is a God that lifts us up.

God is a God that believes in us, even more than we believe in ourselves.

God is a God that knows what we are capable of.

And God helps us to achieve what we are capable of.

Staying connected in prayer – keeps us connected with God’s best – coming through us as our best.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I know that I am a spiritual being walking the spiritual path learning to be the best human, and yet more.

I pray that I am in tune with life and Your wonderful universe always centered in divine order.

A child was asked to write a book report on the entire Bible.

Through the eyes of a child:

In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, “The Lord thy God is one,” but I think He must be a lot older than that.

Anyway, God said, “Give me a light!” and someone did. Then God made the world.

He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren’t embarrassed because mirrors hadn’t been invented yet.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden. Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn’t have cars.

Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel.

Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something …

One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check.

After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.

Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh’s people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable.

God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include: don’t lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor’s stuff. Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother.

One of Moses’ best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn’t sound very wise to me.

After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore. There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don’t have to worry about them.

After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of The New. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn … (I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, “Close the door! Were you born in a barn?” It would be nice to say, “As a matter of fact, I was.”)

During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Democrats.

Jesus also had twelve opossums.

The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.

Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount.

But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn’t stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead.

Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, and then came back to life again …

He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.

Dear God, help me not to take life so deadly seriously – that it kills me; give me a great sense of humor so that I can laugh and giggle more through the moments of the days of my life.

Today is Friday, and you have gone through another week of your life. As you review your week, there may have been some injustices that you experienced. You decide, today, to not let the appearance of the injustice override the tranquility and harmony in your life. The first act in meeting an appearance of injustice is always to place yourself and all that concerns you in God’s care and keeping. You have faith in God’s law of love and justice. You have faith that God works unceasingly in and through the minds and hearts of people to establish justice, Divine order, and harmony.

You hold your faith in God and continue to pray. Prayer helps you to remain poised and calm. Prayer helps you to remain alert to new possibilities. You know that your good comes from God, and no one or no thing can retard or restrict its flow.

In the quietness of your inner being, you affirm, in positive prayer, that God’s law of justice is working right now, unerringly, in your life and affairs. You recognize and welcome God’s law of justice. You are serene and secure knowing that what is right and just will prevail.

Jesus, in effect, said, “If you live in the Spirit of My teachings, you will become truly My disciples, and you will be freed from all your limitations through the understanding of Truth that comes to you as the result of your steadfastness.”

As a disciple of the Christ Spirit, you are an example of harmony in expression. Just as Jesus’ disciples followed the teaching and guidance of the Master, you, too, follow the guidance of God.

The Bible, in John 8:31-32, states: “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

You are free to demonstrate Jesus’ teachings in every aspect of your life, especially when you are experiencing injustice.

With love in your heart, let us together give thanks to God, for the knowledge of the truth that sets us free from all injustice.

In order to witness God’s perfect plan for justice for your life, it is often necessary to learn patience. If you have reason to believe that someone has acted unjustly in your life, you learn to wait and trust God.

You remind yourself to take time before reacting too quickly to any given situation. You place your request for a harmonious outworking of any apparent problem in the hands of God. You trust and have patience. Once you have learned to be patient and to trust in the perfect outworking, you watch yourself so that you do not rehash old conditions. You loose them and let them go and know beyond a doubt that God is bringing into your existence all the necessary ingredients for justice, rightness, and order for you and everyone concerned.

You have believed and you have trusted. You will continue to do so until your desired good is made manifest. As you believe, so it will be in your life. You give thanks for patience and for the unwavering faith in your ultimate good from God that brings lasting freedom to your soul.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I pray that I am aware of Your presence constantly.

To effectively put God in charge of your life and affairs necessitates an understanding of the basic truth that there is but one presence and one power in all the universe, God, the good, omnipotent.

If God is the only presence and the only power, why are there negative conditions? We must remember that humans had been given freedom of Choice and free will. Humans using the power of God determine the result by the way that they choose to use that power.

When we put God in charge of our life and affairs, we put God in command of our thoughts, feelings, and words. By our prayers, we invoke the whole power of God in our life and turn every appearance in the direction of good. The results can be nothing less than ultimate good in our life. God’s perfect Divine order takes over.

Every day we are searching for right answers and solutions for our daily needs. Nearly every one of us has unexpected circumstances to meet, and our first thought is: “What will I do about this? What is the right answer?”

We can train our minds to be open and receptive to the mind of God, and turn to God instantly when there is something that we need to do or a solution that we need to obtain to some problem. We will receive direct and inspiring ideas. We will know what to do and how to do it.

Let your mind be open as you remember your oneness with a great source of knowledge within you.

Think of yourself as filled with the Spirit of God; in all that confronts you, take the stand that you have the all-knowing mind of God working on your behalf. This gives you a direct approach to right answers, no matter what the need or situation.

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 20, 2022 - REPLACE ANXIETY WITH THANKSGIVING

“Have no anxiety about anything, but … with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6, 7

You are not anxious about the outcome of any situation. You praise and give thanks that the right answers are forthcoming. You know that, with God, the right outcome is assured.

You are not anxious about your health. You affirm aloud in prayer – “My faith is in God’s healing life within me and I am thankful. I praise God that healing is taking place now.”

You are not anxious about the well-being of family members.

You affirm aloud in prayer – “I praise and give thanks to God that my family member (insert name) is a child of God. Guide this person and lead them in right and happy ways.”

You are not anxious about your future.

You affirm aloud in prayer – “I praise and give thanks that God has made lasting, loving provision for me and mine. Now and always, we are one with God and one with God’s good.”

Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”

Sometimes we may feel that we could be peaceful and happy if things were different in our life – if, for instance, we had a new home or a different job, or if a family member or neighbor or a business associate would act differently. But peace of mind comes from within and is not dependent on conditions or circumstances.

Peace of mind is achieved through quiet prayer that attunes us to God, fills us with inner peace and frees us from doubts or disturbed thinking. Our mind is then open and receptive to new ideas which we can use to bring forth good results in our life.

When we make a regular practice of prayer and meditation, we look at ourselves and our life with a new vision. We no longer feel that if only some circumstance or some people were different, we could be at peace. We see the power of God at work – in the present moment, in the present circumstances – and we feel thankful and blessed.

There are times when all of us need to know that we are in the presence of God. In any need, in any kind of situation, all that we really need to be aware of, to feel peace, is to realize that God is with us.

“Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.”
Isaiah 26:3

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I accept Your gift of peace. Not from outside myself does this gift come. From the innermost heart of me, Your peace is given. I feel Your peace and all anxiety is cast out. Tranquility permeates my being, soothing my emotions, and filling my mind and heart with joyous serenity.

In my world of daily events, in my relations with others, in my plans, goals, and strivings, I may at times feel frustrated, I may meet with opposition, and I may have tribulations, challenges and problems.

But when I come to You, dear God, the troubles of the outer world lose their power to distress or upset me. I fully accept Your peaceful presence and all anxiety in me is transmuted into calm. This moment is holy, for in this moment, I enter into Your spirit of peace.

Thank You, dear God, for helping me to live without anxiety. Thank You, God for Your priceless gift of peace. I shall cherish it, and I promise to share it with others.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 19, 2022 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“Choose this day whom you will serve.”
Joshua 24:15

In Genesis, the book of the beginning, it says, “God created humans in God’s own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female God created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth … And God saw everything that God had made, and indeed, it was very good.” [Genesis 1:27-28, 31].

Let us, during this prayer time, cast off the feeling of limitation and frustration that keeps us from being what we were created to be. Our Creator believes in us. Every creator worthy of the name believes in his or her creation.

God believes in you!

Even in the midst of your sense of separation, when you have a mistaken identity, a false sense of self, your Creator believes in you. Even in the dark night of your soul, (which is a time when all seems lost), God believes in you. Even when you fail to hear or turn away from the call of greatness that urges you to return to your Source, God believes in you.

God believes in you. God has faith in you. God believes in me. Think about that for a moment and allow it to empower you:

God believes in me.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

God has faith in you. Because God believes in you, you can believe in God’s handiwork in you. You can have faith in God’s image in you. Take heart.

Listen to the following words and allow me to speak that silent voice inside of you.

God believes in me. God has faith in me. God created me in God’s image and after God’s likeness. My Creator believes in me. God put the Divine spirit within me. God knows the stuff of which I am made, and God has faith in me. I will no longer judge with my eyes and my ears. If others lose their faith in me, and even if I lose my faith in myself, God, You never lose your faith in me. You always believe in me. God always trusts the Divine handiwork coming through me. God, I thank You for believing in me. Rest in the silence of prayer …

I am God’s creation. I believe in God as my Creator. My heavenly God and I are one- one in faith, one in belief, one in trust. A life energy is released in you as you meditate on these truths about you. The words are the leading edge of a whole new state of faith believing in and trusting in God, and in the image or individualization of God that you are.

Accept this truth about you right now, in a moment of silence in prayer …

I am filled and fulfilled by the growing realization that God has faith in me, and I have faith in God. God believes in me. I believe in God. God trusts me. I trust God. What a glorious partnership, in faith, my Creator shares with me.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

God has never left you. God has never forsaken you. God has loved you with an everlasting love. With a loving kindness, God has drawn us and awakened us. This is the revelation of the One who believes in us.

It is God’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom, not because we have worked hard to earn it or that we merit it, but because of the grace of our Creator who believes in us. Rest in the silence of prayer …

We are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, all our souls, all our minds, all our strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. This is the natural expectation of the Creator who believes in us, and who knows the stuff we are made of. God expects us to believe in the Divine, to believe in ourselves, and to believe in our neighbor as God does.

As we close this wonderful time of prayer with God, we are to let our light shine in such a way that all who see it will know that its source is the God of light inside us and in them. This is the radiant desire of our Creator who believes in us.

In the nature of Jesus Christ, we pray … Amen.

A couple who lived most of their wedded life in Hugo, Minnesota, marked their 84th wedding anniversary. Clarence Vail, 101, and Mayme, 99, hold a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for their achievement.

You have to have patience and says Mayme, to be married to the same person for over eight decades. The couple only recently moved into a nursing home. They had six children, 30 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren, and 40 great-great-grandchildren. They hope to celebrate their 85th wedding anniversary and beat the world marriage record set by a couple, since deceased, from Taiwan.

Human love is wonderful, and worth rejoicing and celebrating. We often count the days of its existence. How much more is the love of God.

God has never left your side, and never will.

Today is a day to be in an awareness of God’s steadfast love and care.

Through every circumstance of your life, through every stage of growth, God has provided for all your needs. God continues to care tenderly for your every need today.

God’s power moves through your body, mind, and circumstances of your life as love, light and life itself, enabling you to be blessed and to be a blessing to others.

When problems in living arise, God is there, loving you through each moment. God’s presence inspires the growth that can take place and the overcoming’s that can be obtained. All this is done in love. Remembering this, calms and strengthens your mind and heart and helps you to do what needs to be done by you. You are NEVER alone. You are with someone that loves you and will never leave you.

If there is any sense of hurry or confusion in your life, serenity can be restored with remembrance of God’s steadfast love.

God is with you right now. For this blessed assurance you give joyous thanks. You know that you can turn to God in any time, in any need, and trust God to continually love you.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I pray that I am empowered my whole lifelong the love continuously.
I realize that as Your love comes through me, I feel it and am blessed by it too.
I pray that I’m a blessing to all that I meet.
I pray others feel my love and care.
