Positive Daily Inspiration - January 3, 2023 - Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“To Thee, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”
Psalms 25:1

Allow yourself to sit comfortably in your seat. Take a deep and slow breath, in and out. Feel yourself relaxing in the bright presence of God. Bring to mind the seashore; see the tide of the ocean coming in and going out. Notice the ebb and flow. See if you can feel the rhythm of that flow.

The tide comes in and it goes out, again and again, ceaselessly ebbing and flowing.

There is a great secret to that flow. In Christianity, we call it the Holy Spirit, and there is a rhythm to its movement. Wonderfully, perhaps even miraculously, you and I have been given a physical complement to this ebb and flow; it is our breath.

Deeply relax in the silence of prayer …

Become conscious, now, of your lungs filling with air and then letting the air go. We can picture the ocean flowing in and out, as we breathe in and out. This rhythm, being conscious of the flow of breath, stills the mind and stops that endless chatter of thoughts. It brings us to that state we call the silence that lies so deep within us. Like the depths of the ocean, all is still, yet all is still vitally alive, the source of life.

Ask that we spend a few minutes or so, in the silence of prayer, following our breath in and out. If you wish, you can continue to picture the ebb and flow of the ocean as you do so.

We will rest together in the silence of prayer …

On the in breath allow the full love of God to come in. As you exhale allow all resentment and old disturbances of mind to leave you.

We are one in the great love of God.

On the in breath allow the full wisdom of God to enter your mind. As you exhale, you let go of old concepts and opinions that are not to the Christ standard.

On the in breath allow the full health of God to take residence in every cell. As you exhale you let go of any impurity that has been held within the body.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We receive from God and we give. Dear God we ask a simple prayer that we can serve more. We ask that we can make a difference because of the difference you have made in on us. We are ready and we are willing to be of service now. Help us to give more and be less concerned about ourselves.

For this knowledge and experience, we are grateful,

“No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.”

Perhaps the greatest gift you could ever give yourself is a change in attitude. As we move through this New Year let us resolve to do things differently.

Sometimes, we let things get us down – the negative words others say seem to pierce our very being. We listen to the news or read the newspaper, and begin to think in a “doom and gloom” perspective. Sometimes, it is conditions that can get us down – our seeming lack of finances or challenges at home or on the job. Perhaps, we are dealing with an illness, whether our own or a loved one’s, and everything seems so dark.

There is no human being anywhere who does not have some problem which he or she is working on. But not one of these people is alone: God is always there. This is God’s world.

Often, things will get us down IF WE LET THEM. We have a choice: Are we going to think about the problem, or think about God? The problem often seems to stare us in the face and challenges us to think about it, dwell on it, to replay and magnify it, to deal with it until we are frozen in our tracks, afraid to move in any direction. When we view the problem in our minds, we view it through our human microscope. Then it seems huge, overpowering, overwhelming, and impossible to solve. Know that GOD IS BIGGER THAN ANY PROBLEM by speaking those very words frequently.

Instead of magnifying problems, see them as molehills rather than mountain-sized obstacles; remember that God is bigger than any molehill, or mountain. God Eternal will stand against the temporal. When God stands with us, we win.

Simply THINK ABOUT GOD INSTEAD OF THE PROBLEM.

The problem may shout, “Think about me!” “Think about me!” But if we are wise, we will turn away, turnaround, and think about God. Then the Divine floods our being, light fills the darkness, and our own minds begin to thaw from the frozen depths of fear. New ideas race in, and all the while, it is as if we have been plugged in to recharge. New power is now ours from God. Our minds see from a new perspective; we see our problem with 20/20 positive vision. We see it only as a minor challenge because WE ARE NOT ALONE! God is with us. THEN, AND ONLY THEN, DO WE DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM.

Too many people try to deal with their problems from their humanness alone. They are afraid and they feel overwhelmed and confused. Many people lack power because they drain themselves through Wasted Worry Thought. Do not spend time on W W T, spend time on G O D. The golden key that opens up any human life is: TO THINK ABOUT GOD – FIRST.

Always think about God first, before thinking about your problem. Act as God directs, speak as God directs, follow God’s guidance, and you are led through the maze of life with an uncanny perfection. GOD NEVER MAKES A WRONG MOVE.

Say this prayer, today, before thinking about any problem:

“God empowers, protects, surrounds, and infills me, right now. God radiates forth from me, clearing my way. My way is paved with the good of God; nothing but good awaits me and mine. My problem dissipates now before the radiant life of God. My mind and body, in all circumstances, are cleansed, renewed, and regenerated into newness of life. I proclaim with Jesus, “God and I are one.”

When you think about God instead of the problem, your life begins to change. YOU MAKE THE DECISION TO CHANGE THE CHANGEABLE WITH THE CHANGELESS.

God is always the answer, always the perfect way. Your humanness consents to an infilling of Divine power and mountains crumble.

When outer problems disappear, you may however, discover that your life still has some down moments, some low energy times, even some mild depression that you always believed was caused by your problems. You also make the discovery that you live in your mind – you perceive everything from your own perspectives within your own mind. Many people tried to escape this through vacations, or changing jobs, homes, and/or relationships. But because we live in our minds, we take our minds with us wherever we go. TIME AGAIN – TO GO TO GOD.

How do you go to God? Each day upon arising, PRAY AND MEDITATE and allow God’s silent power to infill you with strength of body and mind, as well as new happiness. Then, as you shower and dress, TALK TO GOD about what is on your mind, the agenda in your day, and place it in God’s mind.

If you are low on energy or down in spirit, GENERATE “UP” – begin to accelerate your spirit. At first, it may feel forced, but it will begin to flow automatically, filling and thrilling you with its power. It is truly the movement of God. People who generate “up” have quantum capacity for success in their day. God radiates in them, for them, and through them to others.

The most difficult part IS the human turning on of this God-empowered engine. Once started, it runs by itself, long into the night. Staying “up” is then easy. On down days, turn on your smile, turn on your love, turn on your “outgoingness,” and turn on your humor– even when you do not feel like it. Work at it – SPEAK POSITIVE PRAYER AFFIRMATIONS to yourself during this early period in the day – for about 20 minutes – until it becomes who you are. You will become the manifestation of all the “up-ness” of God. Before each meeting, or important work that needs to be done through you, speak this positive prayer affirmation: “I now exchange my human power for God’s power.”

You are never alone. God is always with you, and God is always up! A down world has no power against an “up” God!

We begin this grand year with a blessing of prayer –

Feel the silence of God’s peace enfold your very being. Enfold yourself in the silence that is God’s strength. There are two kinds of strength: strength to endure, and strength to overcome. We pray for strength, for the strength to see us through every experience during the grandest days of our lives in 2023!

We see ourselves being supported and upheld by God. We are strengthened, sustained and carried through any difficulty by the very strength of our faith in God and our certainty that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble in 2023!

I pray today for you to have God-given strength. I pray for God’s strength to manifest through you. I pray for a new strength to come forth inside of you, strengthening every cell of your physical being and your mind, a strength that knows not to look to outer appearances but holds on firmly to the power of God.

2023 is the year of our Lord.

Rest in the silence of prayer.

God is your strength. Through God, your enthusiasm for life is renewed. You are happy. You are peaceful. You are strong. Through God, you have an enthusiasm as never before, an enthusiasm based on hope and the firm foundation that you are one with God. In God you live and move and have your being all of 2023.

You know that your life can be renewed. It is being renewed now. Every area of your life is seeing the light of day. The light of God is shining in and through it. It is an attitude that comes to you now, an attitude that allows you the privilege of being happy.

You are happy, not because of outer things, but because of what God is doing inside of you in 2023. You have a strength that brings peace, a peace that does not rely on outer conditions or worldly events, but a peace that is from the silence within you. You are strong. You stand upright and walk into the face of adversity because you know you are not alone. You know you are going to overcome anything that is in the outer. You are going to endure in 2023 with God’s special help and guidance.

Rest now in the silence. In the silence of prayer.

To endure is worthy. It is a mark of character. The enduring quality of the soul is to be praised. But we do not let the word endure be the keynote of our thoughts. Instead, we think of tomorrow, not as a time to endure, but as a time of spiritual transformation. We think of the word transform. We see in our lives those things that are negative as transitory. Only God is real and only God is enduring. We know that God’s transforming power can bring a miracle of change, a miracle of good, anywhere, anytime in any circumstance in 2023.

(Silence)

We know that the transforming power of God comes to uplift and is the way to our greater strength. We have the strength to know and believe that there is nothing hopeless or incapable of change in our lives. We have the strength to wait on God and to believe in God’s power as present. This Power is transforming and translating every experience into something new and wonderful in God’s day multiplied by 365 in 2023.

“They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not be faint.”

Here is your strength – not just to endure, but to soar. You now have the secret of soaring strength – to wait on the Lord.

We pray. We turn to the Presence of God with us, knowing that God is our strength, our light, our joy and our peace. We wait upon the Lord and we are given, not just the strength to endure, but a new surge of life and energy to enter our tomorrows, a strength from the Infinite, a strength that lifts up and gives us wings of faith, a strength that fills us with enthusiasm, abundant life and exhilarating joy in 2023.

Rest in the silence of prayer.

God is your strength. Through God, your enthusiasm for life is renewed. You are happy, peaceful and strong. You are strong in the Lord and in the power of God’s might. You have the strength to endure. You have the strength to overcome. You have the strength for joy and for happiness. You have the strength to realize the power of Spirit.

Through you, God transforms your very being and your very own world in the great year of our Lord 2023.

In Jesus Christ’s name we so dedicate ourselves for the best tomorrows of our life in 2023.

Amen.

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 30, 2022 - Greatest New Year's Resolution

“Let your steadfast love in your faithfulness keep me safe forever.”

Perhaps, our greatest New Year’s resolution would be to love more in 2023.

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

“Mister,” he said, “I want to buy one of your puppies.”

“Well,” said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, “These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.”

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

“I’ve got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?”

“Sure,” said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. “Here, Dolly!” he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up …

“I want that one,” the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy’s side and said, “Son, you don’t want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.”

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, “You see sir, I don’t run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.”

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

“How much?” asked the little boy … “No charge,” answered the farmer, “There’s no charge for love.”

The world is full of people who need someone who understands. Understand them. Love them.

Make this your main resolution for 2023.

Tuesday Prayer and Meditation for JOY

“REJOICE ALWAYS, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

On this Advent week of Joy, I am joyfully alive, with the full joy of the Christmas Spirit.

Thank You, God, for my life, for the blessed privilege of being alive in Your beautiful world.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a channel this Christmas through which You are expressing Your joy, Your life, Your never-failing love.
I realize that I’m progressing as a spiritual being, and that I will have
the even greater opportunity in the future to manifest these God-given attributes.
Thank You, God, for this enriching, fulfilling Christmas and every day ahead in 2018.
I am open and receptive to the good my life contains, and I look forward, with spiritual vision, to happy, joyous, exciting experiences.
Life is for living, for loving, for caring, and for sharing, and I am I am filled, and thrilled with the joy of life and living during this sacred time of Christmas.
I give the gift of my joy.

As I share my feelings of joy and enthusiasm for life and living with those around me, they respond in kind.

My life becomes an experience of shared trust, support, and understanding.

Thank You, God, for the power to reach for higher things. I know there is truly nothing impossible to me when I develop a spiritual vision and live by that vision without wavering.

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound your whole body will be full of light.”
Matthew 6:22

Jesus talked constantly about perceptions. If we are following Jesus, we must constantly look for and see the good. Your eye is the lamp of your body and if your eye is sound and not blinded by the cataracts of negativity, your whole body and life will be filled with light, love, and happiness.

Jesus Christ reminded us that we are to follow Him. However, we can become caught up in concern that others may find fault with us, or that we must adopt the lifestyle of others. When this happens, we are not attuning to, or following through on our own Divine guidance. God loves us, and we must begin following God by not cutting ourselves down in criticizing ourselves.

When we are faithfully following God, we are looking to God for solutions to our own challenges. When we depend on God, we, by example, are encouraging others to do the same.

Often, we become way too concerned with the way that others are living their lives. The only one that we can really be concerned with is ourselves. To others we make the personal decision to extend unconditional love – we give each person the freedom to be. Every day, as we follow Christ, we express more and more Christ-like attributes.

We have true peace of mind because we know that when we are following our own guidance from God, our lives are in order.

We follow Christ with our mind, and also our mouth. Gossip and unkind criticism about other persons, groups, or political parties, never hurt them as much as the words hurt us. We rob our soul of growth when we criticize and gossip about others.

We can overcome any such tendencies in ourselves if we diligently strive, day by day, to overcome any unloving or critical thoughts. This can be done if we diligently follow Christ. We can train ourselves to see the Spirit of God working in others.

Criticism and negativity about others is addictive behavior to the lower human mind. Criticism stems from boredom with our own lives and the need to give opinions on other lives. It is a hard habit to break, but it can be done; and the soul rewards of following Jesus in this way are enormous.

No matter what we may hear about another, no matter what we may see, if we remember to look beyond appearances like Jesus told us to, we will find that the inclination to criticize gradually disappears.

None of us knows the full story about another; to do that, we would have to walk many miles in their shoes. Jesus pointed out that no person is in a position to cast stones at another. We are all here in this life to learn more about the art of living as taught by Jesus, and in the process all of us make errors. The errors are part of life, and are of no big deal, as long as we learn lessons from them to correct our path. The Bible says that God forgives our mistakes, and we can be happy when we follow God and forgive others too.

Dear God, today with Your ever-abiding help I agree to stop gossip and criticizing.

If you are needing healing, know that God, your Creator, is the great healer.

What can you do when you are confronted with disturbing reports or symptoms of ill health? You can refuse to give consent to them. You can hold steadfastly to the idea of Divine perfection and protection. Created in the image and likeness of God, you have within you all that is necessary for your wholeness.

As you affirm in prayer that the life of God is your healer, you are set free from undue concern. God is always with you in God’s power and might, ready to protect, but also ready to restore.

God will inspire others working with you through their minds and their hands to bring about a total restoration of health.

Every day of Jesus’ Ministry was spent in uplifting and healing people – especially people that human beings thought could not be healed. Was healing just in Jesus’ day? No, healing from God is just as real, today, as it was 2,000 years ago.

Your faithful realization of your oneness with God, gives you release from fear and discomfort. You find that as you continue in positive prayer, holding always before you an image of wholeness, your healing is made manifest.

A powerful healing work is begun the instant you place yourself in God’s care, trusting totally in the healing of every distress or discord. Your concern is replaced with praise for God’s loving spirit with you, right now. God is mighty to heal and powerful enough to meet your every need, even before you ask.

God created you to express life, and that is what you do when you realize that the Divine life is at the very core of your being.

Life – healing life – surges from every atom of your body. You are alive with the life of God, and you feel energized and strong.

Any concern dissolves quickly when you understand that God intended you to live life fully. God formed your body to express health and wholeness, to work efficiently throughout your entire lifetime. So you do not accept any idea or belief that your body is less than what God created it to be. You change any diagnosis to a LIVINGnosis when you change your focus to full life, through you from God.

There is no finer way to work with medical professionals, than to have faith and belief that God is still Creating – and is restoring you in health.

Every hour of every day, you become more of what you were created to be – a radiant expression as a child of God.

Perhaps the greatest gift you can receive from God is wellness.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

It is decreed, in Jesus Christ’s name, that full God life of the Creator has come, and will come to you, continually. The full complete life of God misses nothing, and it touches all in you with its ever-renewing perfection. Let us pray:

Whoever you are, wherever you are, God loves you. Never again will you need to feel alone. Never again will you feel unloved, misunderstood or unappreciated. You are now enfolded in God’s total love. You are lifted up. You are blessed through the love of God.

The great commandment of Jesus Christ is that we love God and that we love one another. At times this may seem difficult to do, or even impossibility. Though we may be unaware of it or unwilling to express it, within us – is the ability to love.

We consider now the words of the apostle John. We know and we believe the love God has for us. God is love and he or she who abides in love abides in God; and God abides in them.

Think about those words. Think about God abiding in you. And if God abides in you, God expresses through you. And now, in this moment, realize God can express through you as love.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

The human heart longs for love. It has been written that love is the principle of existence and its only end. You, dear friend, are blessed with a great capacity for love – for loving God and for loving God’s children. And you have the capacity to respond with warmth and affection to those who love you.

Jesus said, “The Father, Himself, loves you.’ Now, during this prayer time, you are able to open your heart as never before. You are able to open your entire life to the all-encompassing, boundless love of God. It flows into you and through you in a mighty, unending stream. You receive the love of God now. And you let it radiate from you in thought and feeling toward others – those near at hand and those far away.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You pray for yourself and others that all abide in God’s love. Repeat aloud, “I ABIDE IN GOD’S LOVE.”

I feel God now. I feel love now. I am filled with God’s love. My body temple is a temple of the love of God. I feel the love of God in every cell of my being. I am a vessel for the love of God.

The love of God will radiate from me like a broadcasting station. Everyone who comes close to me will feel the love of God. And they will feel better for coming close to me. All those who come close will feel a change, even though they may not perceive what it is.

I pray that I radiate God’s love to all like the sunshine radiates its warmth.

Rest in the silence of prayer and prayerfully affirm that this is true right now for you.

Divine love never fails you. Divine love fulfills your every need. Divine love harmonizes the situations of your life. Divine love manifests itself in you as light and wisdom. It guides you in the ways of peace and joy. Diving love works through you to enrich you and expand your life. You attract the blessings you seek.

The Christ Spirit instructs and guides you in developing a spiritual consciousness of Divine love. Love is quickened in your heart. You express it in thought, in word and in your every act. You are forever set free from loneliness and depression. You are joyous because the love inside of you is joyous, and perfect Love casts out your fears.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You have an attitude of expecting this. You have an attitude that draws to you people and experiences that will contribute fully to your life’s enrichment and happiness. God loves you. You joyously express God’s love. Your life is filled with meaning, goodness and companionship.

We have prayed, to become a sample of the Great Example – Jesus Christ: to follow Jesus Christ by living His teachings and becoming His teachings. Truly, spirituality is alive in us.

(Personal note – Today we honor in prayer those that lost their lives September 11, 2001.)

A couple of years ago, I visited the 9/11 memorial in New York City. It is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen – it literally will take your breath away.)

Give me a sentence about a public servant,” said a teacher. A small boy wrote: “The fireman came down the ladder pregnant.” The teacher took the lad aside to correct him. “Don’t you know what pregnant means?” she asked.

“Sure,” said the young boy confidently. “It means carrying a child.”

A grandmother was surprised by her 7-year-old grandson one morning. He had made her coffee. She drank what was the worst cup of coffee in her life.

When she got to the bottom, there were three of those little green army men in the cup. She said, “Honey, what are the army men doing in my coffee?” Her grandson said, “Grandma, it says on TV – ‘The best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup!”

Susie Sunshine asked her Sunday School class to draw pictures of their favorite Bible stories. She was puzzled by Jimmy’s picture which showed four people on an airplane, so she asked him which story it was meant to represent. “The flight to Egypt,” said Jimmy. “I see … and that must be Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus,” Ms. Susie said. “But who’s the fourth person?” “Oh, that’s Pontius the Pilot.”

An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him, “How do you expect to get into heaven?” The boy thought it over and said, “Well, I’ll just run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, ‘For heaven’s sake, Jimmy, come in or stay out.'”

A nursery schoolteacher was delivering a station wagon full of kids home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog’s duties. “They use him to keep crowds back,” said one youngster. “No,” said another, “he’s just for good luck.” A third child brought the argument to a close. “They use the dogs,” she said firmly, “to find the fire hydrant.”

Little Johnny watched, fascinated, as his mother smoothed cold cream on her face. “Why do you do that, Mommy?” he asked. “To make myself beautiful,” said his mother, who then began removing the cream with a tissue. “What’s the matter?” asked Little Johnny. “Giving up?”
