“Thou dost keep them in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because they trust in Thee.” Isaiah 26:3

I maintain my awareness of the presence of God, by faithfully holding to the realization that God is ever with me. Truly, wherever I am, whatever I do, whatever I may require, God’s loving presence is at hand to bless me. I am never separated from God. God’s love enfolds my whole life, this very moment. I am protected by God’s presence and power. I am guided by God’s wisdom and intelligence. I am freed from fear and doubt. I am freed from anxiety. I am freed from adverse thoughts and feelings. Yes, God is present with me ALL the time. I accept this truth. I know that I live and move and have my being in God.

Each moment of this day, I will remember God’s presence. Each moment, I choose to be happy. Each moment, I will be grateful for God’s good that fills my life.

Each moment, I will think, speak, act, and serve in the awareness that I live, move, and have my being in the presence of God.

The joy of the Lord shines through me. I am aglow with the happiness of living. I show my happiness and I pray that my happiness converts the unhappy. Every word and action speaks of the inner joy my heart knows. People are glad to see me because they always welcome someone overflowing with joy.

In the presence of God, I can be truly happy, for my happiness is not dependent on the things and conditions around me, but on my realization that there is a spirit of joy in me. Today, I quicken the spirit of joy in me through prayer.

I reflect on Jesus’ words: “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” I think of the joy that found expression through Jesus, and now I acknowledge this joy as my own.

I declare, in prayer: “The joy of the Lord shines through me, today. I let my light shine throughout myself to others all around me.” I contemplate this idea today, and I feel an inner joy beginning to well up within me and overflow into my words and actions, filling me with joyous enthusiasm and filling my environment with the presence of God in human action.

I decide to come alive today with the real joy of the Lord. I let it show on my face, and I do what it says to do, in Proverbs 15:13, “A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance.”

I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. … In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. 1. Selflessness:

In a world where many people don’t have the time or the interest in others, selflessness is a quality that seems to be less and less common, and therefore more in demand by society. People can be selfless in the time they give, the ability to listen, their level of patience and the love that they give. Those who are giving and generous in nature have the power to make others feel loved, appreciated, and special. These people become godlike. While those who are self-absorbed tend to do the exact opposite.

2. Tolerance:

Those people who are tolerant make us feel comfortable with who we are and special as individuals. All of us are different, and many of us have quirks and idiosyncrasies. After all, these differences make the world go round. Having the ability to accept people for who they are and not expect them to be who we want them to be is important in life, happiness and in the health of our relationships. These people exhibit the tendencies of God.

3. Genuineness:

Having the ability to be real, authentic, and honest is unique in a world where we put so much emphasis on the superficial. Feeling comfortable in one’s skin and being true to one’s self is one of the most beautiful traits one can possess. To have a REAL relationship with someone requires honesty … it requires hearing and giving input or feedback that may not always be popular … it means having the strength to tell it like it is and to not be afraid to face the consequences for doing so … it means loving people for who they really are … deep down … and not for what they appear to be. It is godlike to be genuine.

4. Sensitivity:

So often we are focused on what is important to ourselves that we can forget about those around us. Those who are sensitive are often thoughtful, appreciative and loving, in a way that makes you feel understood, valued, and respected. Often, sensitive people are also self-aware, making them mindful of how they impact others with what they do and say. We value God’s relationship with us because of the sensitivity of caring for our needs, and we prize people that do the same.

5. Integrity:

The cynical, will call this characteristic especially difficult to find in today’s world. In a time when people will do things that are underhanded to make an extra buck and do what feels good in the moment without necessarily thinking of the consequences, integrity is a characteristic that is especially unique today. God always shows integrity towards us and following God we must show integrity towards others.

6. Humility:

Whether someone is super-smart, extremely talented, or drop-dead gorgeous, there is something extra special about them if they don’t come across as though they know it all the time. Humility in those that possess extraordinary traits make others feel special too. It is a spiritual trait that the mature human reflects.

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28, 29, 30

I have ALWAYS been thankful that I absolutely LOVE my work.

I ask you to remember the classic Disney movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”

There is a scene in the movie where the seven dwarfs are singing as they’re preparing to go to their jobs. The song contains the words “HI HO HI HO! It’s off to work we go.” The happy little men then dance off to work.

Do you dance and sing on your way to your job? Or are you filled with unhappiness and anxiety? Americans are filled with so much unhappiness and anxiety on Monday mornings, that between the hours of 7 AM to noon, it has become the number one time for heart attacks.

The dwarfs obviously loved their work. Too many people work at jobs that they hate just to pay their bills. Their J.O.B. stands for “Just Over Broke” in their lives.

I saw a bumper sticker on a car recently that turned around the words of the dwarfs’ happy song. The bumper sticker said “I owe. I owe. It’s off to work I go.”

Remember the classic 1950s song by Tennessee Ernie Ford “Sixteen Tons?”

The song contains a line sung over and over again “I owe my soul to the company store.” This indicated that no matter how hard the coal miner worked he could not get ahead. Perhaps you feel this way too.

As a society we are working harder and harder and getting less and less. I am not talking about financial return I am talking about a happiness and a satisfaction return. We are definitely doing more but we are not “human doings” we are “human beings.” As a “being” you have to be “alive”

in your life. Too many people go to work like zombies. “Doing” must be secondary to “being.”

If you aren’t happy and excited about your job, it might be time to seek to new direction. That new direction may be a new job, or a new attitude towards the present one.

The dwarfs loved their work and perhaps that is the key.

I used to know a man who counseled with me, who hated his job and constantly talked about how much he hated it. He was a plumber and throughout his day he would constantly complain to himself about how much he hated his job. The hate and complaint had become a habit, and he had taught himself to despise his work.

I asked him to do an experiment over a thirty-day period. The next Monday morning he went to work with God as his partner. Instead of talking to himself about how much he hated doing each little task, he talked to himself saying repeatedly how much he loved his job and what he was doing in the moment.

At first, he thought it was silly, but then, he started to notice that he was not fatigued at the end of the day. By the third day, time was passing so quickly that he was shocked at how quickly the day was over. He reluctantly admitted that he was having fun doing what he used the hate.

Within 30 days, he had changed so much that his employers came to him and gave him a very large promotion and a substantial raise in pay. But his biggest promotion was inside of himself because he raised his thinking about what he was doing. He prayed constantly and affirmed that God’s love was coming through him. He became a human “being” instead of an unhappy human “doing”.

You are NOT defined by what you do; you are defined by “HOW” you do it. Decide with me to live an experiment in spirituality. Love every aspect of the work that you do. If you wish to have new employment, instead of hating your way out of your current situation, try loving your way out.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, as I rest from my work, I pray that You will renew my mind and body to prepare me for the great victories ahead.

I thank You God!

What a wonderful time this time is … a time of prayer to realize God’s presence.

In prayer we commit ourselves spiritually to express God’s love and God’s good.

The Holy Spirit is continually blessing your life with fulfillment. The Christ Spirit is expressed in you as love and happiness. God, The Lord of love fills your life with peace and goodness.

You rejoice and are thankful. You are assured that God establishes Divine order and goodness in your life.

In this prayer time we are going on a journey of spiritual remembrance, a journey of awareness.

I ask you to rest in the silence of prayer …

A new life is beginning for you this moment. The life of God, ever fresh, ever renewing, is beginning in you during these spiritual moments in prayer with God.

You are positive and patient as the light and love of God guides you to your highest good to be found in this very day.

May you have faith, and through the touch of God made be increased moment by moment during this very day. You have the God-given gift of increased faith because you are teamed up, intertwined, one, with the life of God THIS DAY.

You have faith in God’s Divine guidance. This faith encourages you to follow God’s infinite wisdom. You are not apart from this wisdom.

You are finding the true light that is bringing understanding and Divine direction. You are finding the love that satisfies and fulfills your every need. You are finding that you are a spiritual being surrounded in God’s love, and all is well.

In the name of Jesus Christ, it is decreed for you: The goodness of God is now active in your life and all the circumstances of your life – your relationships, your home, your workplace. Everywhere you are, God is.

In the silence of prayer …

You have faith in God’s love. God’s love is working through you. Your eyes see with love. Your mouth speaks only love. Your ears are perceptive and tuned into the goodness that is spoken, that is sung forth, everywhere in faith. You let God’s love bless and make right all that concerns you.

The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to, alter the worship service, ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to play. “Here’s a copy of the service,” he said impatiently. “But you’ll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances.” During the service, the minister paused and said, “Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected, and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up.” At that moment, the substitute organist played “The Star-Spangled Banner.” And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!

Positive Daily Inspiration - August 12, 2022 - TODAY

“As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.”
Proverbs 23:7

James Allen in his classic book “As a Man Thinketh” says the above Bible quote not only describes a human’s inner character, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of their life. A human is literally what he or she thinks, their character being the complete sum of all their thoughts.

As the plant springs from the seed, and could not be without it, so every act of a human springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts which are called “spontaneous” as to those which are deliberately executed.

Actions are the blossoms of thought, and both joy and suffering are their fruits; thus does a human gather the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own choices.

13 years ago, in 2009 I was taping a television broadcast for our TV channel and was showing my grandmother’s Bible. My grandmother, Mary Vaughan, lived at 785 Market Street in Akron, Ohio.

I think that you can learn a lot about the soul when you look through the pages of their Bible, finding what had so much meaning for them that they saved it over a lifetime.

The piece that I am sharing with you today fell out from one of the obscure pages in her Bible. Hidden within the folds of the pages for years, the author is unknown. Over 6 decades ago my grandmother made a solemn commitment to daily keep these truths from May 17, 1957 to May 1, 1958. The following is exactly what I found.

TODAY – I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life’s problems at once.

TODAY – I will be happy. What a very wise man was Abraham Lincoln, when he said, “Most folks are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.” I will smile and others, witnessing my happiness will smile WITH me.

TODAY – I will adjust MYSELF to what IS, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.

I will realize that much of what I call my “luck” is of my own making – the rest is God’s plan for my niche in life and I will accept it as such.

TODAY – I will do something for my own soul in three ways:
1. I will do something nice for someone and NOT BE FOUND OUT.
2. I will make myself do something I do not want to do – just to prove to myself that I am big enough to do it, and –
3. I will not show ANYONE if my feelings are hurt – THEY MAY BE HURT – but
I WILL NOT SHOW IT – no one but my God and I will know.

TODAY – I will be agreeable – I will speak softly, look my best, be kind and considerate, neither criticizing nor finding fault with anyone but myself.

TODAY – I will have a quiet half-hour – all to myself — to RELAX. During this half hour – some time – I will try to get a better perspective on myself – to see myself as others see me – and ask myself if I LIKE what I see.

TODAY – I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to be RIGHT and to stand by what I believe IS right, if I know my God and my conscience are on my side.

TODAY – I will be very careful of my tongue – if I can’t find something nice to say, I will be silent – for the spoken word, no matter how much regretted, can never be recalled.

TODAY – I will keep smiling – it takes seven muscles to smile and 84 to frown – so – SMILE!

TODAY – Everything I do, or say, or even THINK will be constructive. Whatever I do will be done to the best of my ability. It may not, and probably WILL not be the best that can be done, but it will be MY best – for – “If you give to the world the best you have, then the best will come back to you.”

I always admired the gentleness, and kindness of my grandmother. I can still smell the homemade meringue shells, and the best Apple pie I have ever eaten cooking in that white kitchen stove. Now almost 60 years later, my opinion of her is even higher. Reading this over, it describes my memory of her completely, obviously she lived her truth.

Dear God, help me to have more faith in myself.
Help me to have faith in my God-given abilities.
Help me to look to the future fearlessly living one day at a time in faith.

“Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ.”
Ephesians 4:15

Where do we start to take dominion?

Right where we are.

We begin this moment to positively affirm “I can and with God I will.”

It may be that when we pray for inspiration, guidance, healing, peace or prosperity, we are really praying for dominion. We phrase our prayer as a healing, or prosperity prayer, but we are really praying for dominion over ill health, and poverty.

Most of us seldom get around to thinking in the broader term of taking Dominion. But something in us prods and pushes us to “grow up in every way.”

We know that were meant to take dominion.

Beginning today, we willingly accept the responsibility of conducting our lives intelligently.

We give prayerful consideration to the needs of the body.

We contribute to the peace of our home, our nation, our workplace, and our whole wonderful world.

We draw on the limitless resource of limitless good and find that we have dominion over lesser things that would have bogged us down in the past. We use this energy of God wisely, increasing it with an infusion of our own energy and faith. We “grow up in every way;” we take dominion.

Just as we grow in intellect in the mind, as we go through our years of schooling, we must grow spiritually in our lives so that we can take dominion over the lower animal self and allow the Christ to be the head of every aspect of our lives.

As we allow the Christ to take the reins of our lives, we are led into directions that provide the mountaintop experiences and the vista views of daily life. We do not have to cower down before negative influences of others, or of ourselves – we can – and we must – rise higher.

It is Christ in us that gives us dominion over old destructive habits in our past.

It is Christ in us that gives us dominion over hatreds that have imprisoned us within their poisonous jails.

It is Christ in us that gives us dominion over weakness, physically, and mentally.

It is Christ in us that allows us to rise higher and be more – knowing with God’s help we can achieve the seeming impossible!

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I pray that I have dominion over my former self.
I pray that I have dominion over destructive tendencies of the past.
I asked for God-given dominion so that I can become a new person after the likeness of the Christ.

Let us pray:

Let us be in the silence of pure prayer.

Let us have an experience of God who surely dwells in this place.

Let us begin by listening to our breath, not changing it in any way just listening to the wonder of God working in God’s creation. Feel the breath flow in; feel the breath flow out. Breathe in; breathe out. Follow the breath.

This is an ancient technique for stilling the mind and bringing the experience of God directly to you. Listen to your breath follow in and out. Beneath the layer of thoughts lies love and peace – the very experience of God. Follow your breath. Follow your breath.

Rest in the silence of prayer …
(two minutes)

It often helps to have a prayer affirmation to help the mind. Today I suggest: I am an open channel of God.

So as you are following your breath, in your say to yourself: I am an open channel of God. I am an open channel of God. I am an open channel of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …
(two minutes)

As you follow your breath, feel your breath moving in and out and repeat these words.

I am an open channel of God. God-perfection touches and flows through me. God is moving through me right now. All that is of God – God’s peace, love, strength, courage, wisdom – is moving through me right now.

For this sweet spiritual experience, the grace that makes it all possible, we are grateful.

Our visions for the future depend on our ability to remember our connectedness to God.

Let me tell you a story:

A spider built his web in the barn, high among the rafters. The spider started spinning a long, thin thread attached to the end of one of the beams. With this thread still attached, the spider jumped off the beam and spun out more thread on the way down, until it reached the place it had planned as the center of the web. From the center, it then spun out other threads like the spokes of a wheel, attaching each of them to the walls and other places.

Finally, there was an exquisitely made web that caught many fine, fat flies.

But the spider grew forgetful, fat, lazy, and vain.

One day, while admiring the web it had spun, the spider noticed the long fine thread it had first spun from the top beam, and said, “I wonder what that is for? I can’t imagine why I ever put it there; it doesn’t catch any flies.”

And so, on sudden impulse, the spider broke it. But, as a result, the whole, wonderful web collapsed.

The spider had forgotten that one thread – the link to the strongest beam above – supported the whole web.

Sometimes, we forget our spiritual support, we forget the connection to God.

We must never forget our main line of support in our own life.
We must not ever brake that support through forgetting our main power link to God.
Our daily connection to God keeps our whole life strong and connected.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, may I never forget my connection to You.
My connection to You keeps me strong and whole.
My connection to You keeps my life in Divine order.
My connection to You assures me of continued success.
My connection to You keeps me healthy.
My connection to You radiates from me in love for others.
