Positive Daily Inspiration - January 11, 2023 - PEACE, BE STILL

“He woke up, and rebuked the wind, and the raging waves; they ceased, and there was a calm.”
Luke 8:24

The disciples went to Jesus, who was calmly asleep on the boat, and shouted at Him, saying, “Master, Master, WE ARE PERISHING!!!” The boat had been taking in water, and the disciples, looking to the appearances, were taking in great fear, – which would have sunk them faster than the boat taking in water.

After He calmed the situation, Jesus looked at His disciples and said, “Where is your faith?”

This type of situation has happened to all of us, at one time or another. We find ourselves caught up in a personal storm, and our life is taking on water, and will soon sink without Divine intervention.

God, in times of both challenge, and joy, is there for you. In times of challenge, we must keep our faith in God high; it is the key that will unlock the great mysteries to get us through any, and ALL storms.

You can have faith in God, because looking back on your own life, you recognize that God has seen you through the ups, and the downs of your life. God has supported and guided you even when you were not aware of it.

When you are going through a personal storm, God can give you peace of mind. God surrounds you with God’s loving, protecting presence that will always sustain you through any challenge.

Many times, God brings people into our lives that will bring new blessings for us, and that we can be a blessing to, in times of adversity. The greatest way that we can follow Jesus is through the practice of faith, instead of fear. If Jesus were to ask you, “Where is your faith?” You could say to Jesus, “Right here, right now, fully in God.”

When a tadpole becomes a frog, and an acorn grows into a towering tree, they are fulfilling their potential. We fill our spiritual potential when we hold on to our faith in the midst of a storm.

When we are holding onto our faith, we are calm enough to receive guidance from God. When we are all agitated, we cannot listen, or comprehend. We follow a Divine plan by following the guidance we receive from God, in order to fulfill our own potential.

Life is in a constant state of change and adaptation, and this change may seem like a storm with the raging waves. When your faith is high, your mind is alert and receptive to the God-given potential that lies within you, waiting to be expressed.

Every person created by God has been given potential. Just as the tadpole becomes the frog and the acorn the tree, you change from day to day, increasing your awareness of God and realizing that you are living out a Divine plan and fulfilling your own potential.

You can weather ANY storm, because God holds you up in the waves and sets the direction for a harbor of safety.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I pray for the ability to see beyond appearances, I pray for the strength to keep my faith high. I place my life, and the circumstances of my life, faithfully in Your hands.
I believe in positive results.

This time we have in prayer is sacred. Something is going to happen that is beyond mere human consciousness. We’re going to agree and consent to God’s good. There is a higher working here than just the human mind. There is an action of the Divine. The Truth we pray is the Truth of God for you individually.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

During this prayer time you will be quickened by the love of Christ. You will be able to look over your life and bless every experience with God’s love that brings forth good. You will know that the Spirit of the Lord is with you. Your God-given good is assured.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

This moment you are able to dissolve in your mind, and in the minds of all others, any idea that your God-given good can he withheld from you. There is nothing outside of you, person, thing, or event, that can keep from you that which the God has for you now.

As your mind expands to God’s good, vast improvement comes quickly in every phase of your life. Every day, and in every way, through God’s ever present help, things are getting better for you individually. You are entering the best period of your life. The attracting power of God’s love fills your life with satisfying good. As this comes, you are poised, patient and positive. You know that God pours God’s good out upon you.

Your mind is thinking exclusively about God’s possibilities. You know that as you let go of worn-out things in your mind, worn out habits and worn out thoughts, there is a new vibrant thinking coming through you, a thinking that pulsates with life, a thinking which is from God’s Mind. You accept that thought now for your life, and for every condition you face in life.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

God blesses you with love and peace. You are assured of help in every need. There is a continuous flow of God’s helpful ideas into your human mind. There is a continuous flow of good in your life. God’s Divine ideas come through your human mind and you become an irresistible magnet for wondrous experiences and ever-expanding good.

Good is drawn to you and you are a good receiver. You are receiving God’s good now in every area of your life. You are receiving all the abundance God has for you now. God, in God’s love, pours out God’s abundant good upon you. Your life and your world show forth perfect order now.

Revelations 21:5 says, “Behold, I make all things new.” With new zeal and enthusiasm, you accept God’s promise of good in your life.

In Proverbs 28:20 our Bible says, “A faithful human will abound with blessings.”

NOW you are abounding with God-given blessings.

NOW you are receiving all the good of the Christ.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You are one with the bounty of Christ. Old walls are torn down, and good flows into your life.

You are a spiritual heir to God’s ever-present supply. You are blessed.

In the name of Jesus Christ, you are able, and ready for the future. You are abundantly prospered. This, NOW, is a turning point of your life because it is the turning point inside of your mind. You are able to fully trust God’s power. Instead of looking to appearances, you are able to trust in the power of God in your life. God’s good is continually made manifest. God is good. God supplies you now with unlimited opportunities for every need. You are prospered.

In a moment, you are going to rest in the silence. In a moment, you will feel the infilling that is a quiet reassurance that God is at work.

In the silence of prayer … ACCEPT

The Christ Light assures you of constant good. The Christ light assures you that your needs are supplied. The Christ Spirit is at work in you and in the circumstances of your life to bring continuous blessing and overflowing good. You have direct access to the rich ideas of God. Your spiritual life is connected, and your outer life is filled with plenty.

In the name, in the character and in the intelligence of Jesus Christ, you call forth God’s help. You call forth an ever-expanding help. You decree that you are forever changed by this prayer. You will never live your life in lack or limitation. You name every area of my life as vital, alive and good.

Thank You, God … In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen.

Positive Daily Inspiration - January 9, 2023 - A "JUST" Life

“The Lord bless you, O habitation of righteousness.”
Jeremiah 31:23

A woman cries, “It just isn’t fair!” We do not like it when it appears that we, or someone else are being unfairly treated.

How do we deal with the apparent unfairness, how do we cope with situations that seem unjust? Not by railing against them but by holding to our belief in justice as the ultimate reality in God.

Some people feel out of kilter because they have had something very unfair happen to them, or because they keep thinking about something that they could have done better concerning someone else.

We need to remember Jesus’ words, “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
John 7:24

We are to look beyond appearances to the truth of God, we are to hold fast to our vision of rightness and justice. We are to know with unwavering faith that God is love and justice, and that God’s law of love and justice is at work making all things right. We may not be able to see how this can be so, but we can have faith that injustice cannot stand, that always God’s law of good prevails.

Justice is a very important equation to a balanced life. If you are seeking justice in the courts, if you are a lawyer seeking justice for your client, if you are a minister praying for justice in the world — these are but a few who would seek to have justice brought about. If there is some unjust situation or condition that troubles you, an opportunity is given to you to pray to right the wrong. Prayer brings the assurance that God is in charge. Prayer reveals ways in which you can help in establishing an umbrella of justice covering everyone in your life.

When you want to see justice done and you are told to “pray about it,” you may be tempted to say, “But I want to DO something about it.” Actually, when you pray, you are much more likely to do something wise and worthwhile than when you do not pray. Prayer keeps you poised and in balance. Guilt or anger gets you off kilter quickly, locked in human emotions that may misjudge the total picture. If there is some action, you can take, if there is some part you can play in establishing justice, you will know it through prayer, and have the God-given courage and the patience needed to do what must be done by you.

God may guide you, showing you that no action is necessary on your part. Still, your faith that justice can and will be established will help the persons and the situations involved, helping to set things right.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I pray today for Divine justice, and the wisdom and maturity to know that it is now present, active, and at work in my life.

Positive Daily Inspiration - January 7, 2023 - RIGHT EMPLOYMENT

“The laborer deserves his wages.”
Luke 10:7

Every day, we pray with many people that are seeking employment.

We pray to help discouraged people, to rebuild and to maintain their faith during the time of challenge and change. Through repeated faith building prayers, a person gains the knowledge of the truth of God, and the promise that the outcome will be good. The Bible says that, “Faith comes by hearing,” and through repeated hearing of God’s truth, instead of the inside mind voices of defeat that we sometimes speak to ourselves, out of our fear – the person equips themselves for real success instead of defeat.

Equanimity is a great word. It is defined as: “Evenness of mind especially under stress; right disposition; balance.” What better quality to meet challenging conditions and circumstances with than equanimity!

God gives you the evenness of mind with which to meet anything in life, including a change in your employment. Whether the change was wanted or was forced on you makes NO difference to God. God is with you – to bring you the best, and the blessed.

Know, today, that underneath you are the everlasting arms of love, holding you close. You are not adrift on a sea of circumstance; you are anchored safe and secure in God’s love.

With the evenness of mind that God gives you – you rise above fear and anxiety. You maintain evenness and balance in your mind and your emotions. You are even able to keep possession of your smiling face and optimistic outlook.

God equips you with the poised disposition. There is a mighty power at work in your career and all that concerns you. You trust in the power of God to draw to you the highest and best. You know that something good, something wonderful, awaits you behind every door that you knock upon.

In Psalm 62:2, our Bible states, “God ONLY is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly moved.”

God is your rock to stand on, your salvation from worry and fear, your fortress against armies of anxiety that would try to bring you down. In God, you will NOT be moved!

In almost every person’s life, there are times when the employment opportunities are a main focus of thought. Whether you are searching for your first job, transferring from one job to another, or reentering the workforce after an extended leave, laid-off, or fired, you know, with full faith, that you will be Divinely guided to your right place.

God’s life illumines your way, and new avenues are constantly opening to you. The best is yet to come. Your path to a greater fulfillment is made clear, and you step forward with confidence. The perfect job is just ahead – in a place and at a position where your talents and abilities will be needed and appreciated.

Soon, you will be a welcome part of a productive work team, and even now, you are being led to your right place of employment. You will be blessed with friendly, happy coworkers and caring employers.

With God, you will know your purpose, and you will make a positive difference with your life.

POSITIVE CHRISTIANITY EMPLOYMENT PRAYER:

Even now, my perfect place of employment is seeking me.

I give thanks that the perfect employment for me is being revealed.

I believe that God knows my needs and opens new doors of good for me. My right place is seeking me.

I give thanks that the perfect place of employment and direction to it are now being revealed!

I launch forth!

I thrust out!

There is no fear because I ask God to send forth heavenly inspired energies into the resumes, and then into the work I am fitted to do. My opportunities are boundless and ever at hand.

No ancient obstructions can bar the full-fledged freedom of my expression and expansion into radiant success.

Right action begins with me and I am ready to move into action, empowered by God to begin moving and keep moving towards great success.

I am guided by God to the place and location where I am needed, wanted, and appreciated for being me. I am not held in any way to stagnation, or in any area of no career movement.

In the presence of the Presence there is no fear. I believe in taking possession of what God gives me as a step leading to the fulfillment of my heart’s desires.

As my Bible promises – All that the Father hath is mine, and I take possession of what belongs to me.

I am gifted by God with the talent and energy needed to succeed at the task at hand.

I use my career to the glory of God and the benefit of humankind.

God wants to use me and needs me. I let my life be what God intended it to be and I am a lasting success. God goes ahead of me preparing my good. God paves the way to the place of lasting good. I walk easily toward my good infilled with confidence and courage. I have NO fear for God is with me, and I am recognized, wanted, and honored wherever I go.

Positive Daily Inspiration - January 6, 2023 - "ETERNAL LIFE"

“And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God.”
John 17:3

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was leaving the room after paying a visit, and said, “Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.”

Very quietly, the doctor said, “I don’t know.”

“You don’t know?!? You’re a Christian man, Doc. Yet, you don’t know what’s on the other side?”

The doctor was holding the handle of the door, on the other side of which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said, “Did you notice my dog? He’s never been in this room before. He didn’t know what was inside. He knew nothing, except that his master was here, and when the door opened he sprang in, without fear. Now, I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing: I know that God is there, and that is enough. And when the door opens, I shall pass through with no fear, and with exceeding gladness.” AMEN!

Positive Christianity receives many requests to pray for those who are bereaved. We, lovingly, place those who have need of comfort in the hands of God. We, lovingly, pray for their peace of mind and heart. We pray that they may feel and know that God is with them as a very present help.

Positive Christianity always stresses life. We believe that life is eternal and that we are forever one with God’s life and love. The warmth and wonderful relationship we have, have had, and will have, are all part of God’s eternal life and love.

As we who read today’s Daily Inspiration message, pour out our blessing upon all who need to be comforted and sustained, we send our prayers out to all who need to be strengthened in their faith in God’s eternal life and love. There is a great energy that is released through united prayer. Our prayers will be that hearts will be lifted and a blessing will be felt.

Someone, somewhere, will be comforted because of our loving prayers. As it says in Exodus 33:14, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

You are never alone. God is always with you. This is the Divine assurance. You are never beyond the point of God’s ever-reachable help and comfort. You feel God’s presence as you go about the activities of this day. You feel God’s presence as you work. You feel God’s presence as you shop. You feel God’s presence as you meet with friends. You feel God’s presence as you do the things that need your special touch. You feel God’s presence coming through you with your particular talent.

God is with you. What a difference that makes!

God is always with you! How thankful you are that God is always with you and that you are never alone. God is always with you and therefore, you are never unsupported. God is always with you and therefore, you are never without help. God is always with you and therefore, you are never without encouragement.

God is with you every day of your eternal life and with those that we love. We are all, always, in God’s presence. This knowledge sustains and strengthens us and frees us from bereavement and fear.

Thich Nhat Hanh (Vietnamese Buddhist Monk) in his book: “No Death, No Fear.” There are two excerpts that I really appreciate …

“If you were to love a cloud … you would know that the cloud is impermanent. [But] if you forget about impermanence and are attached to the cloud when the time comes for the cloud to be transformed into rain you will cry, ‘Oh dear, my cloud is no longer there’ … The rain is smiling, singing, falling down, full of life, full of beauty. Yet because of your forgetfulness … you are caught in grief … Meanwhile the rain is calling you, ‘Darling, darling, I am here, recognize me!'”

“Go to the foot of a tree and make a list of all the things that can make you happy right now: the clouds in the sky, the flower in the garden … The list is endless. You have enough already to be happy now. You have enough to be free from coming and going, up and down, birth and death.”

You are benefited, greatly, by praying. The desired that goes forth from your heart, hungering after God and God’s righteousness, is blessed by God and does not return to you void. Prayer does not change God, but it does change YOUR attitude toward God.

Just as the light pours into a dark room when the curtains are opened, so does God come into your heart when you open your heart to God.

Prayer is like dialing a number on the telephone. It is the conscious connection you make with God. Prayer gives you the faith to believe and the understanding to walk in God’s Way.

When God enters your heart, your fears depart. God’s peace floods your being. Your whole life is harmonized. If your line of communication with God has weakened, prayer rebuilds and strengthens it.

God is instantly responsive to your need. You have only to acquaint yourself with God and be at peace in order to know God.

In letters and e-mails that come to Positive Christianity, almost every person requests guidance of some sort.

One person may ask whether or not he should go to a doctor. Another may want to know whether she should remain in a job or change jobs. Another may need guidance in passing an examination. Another may want to know what to do to bring about adjustment in an inharmonious relationship. Over and over, people ask, “What should I do?”

Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given you.”
Matthew 7:7

How can you know what to do? Prayer gives you the answer to your questions. The answer may not come in words that outline what you are to do. It may not come through some other person, as much as we would sometimes like to have someone tell us exactly what to do. Your answer will come in the way you can best accept your guidance.

You live, move, and have your being in God. You are immersed in the Wisdom of God. You simply need to be aware of this, and in prayer, ask for guidance, inspiration and direction.

Remember that Jesus said, “For everyone who asks, receives.”

God is ready, willing, and able to help you NOW.

This past Christmas, every moment on television I kept seeing advertisements for gifts that will make friends and family happy.

The ultimate gift is the gift itself of life. We must not waste the gift. In the fairy tale “The Last Dream of the Old Oak Tree,” the oak tree felt sorry for the day-fly. The day-fly only lives for one day, and the tree was already 365 years old. But the day-fly was so enjoying his one day that the tree’s sympathy puzzled him. The day-fly said to the tree, “You may have thousands of my days, but I have thousands of moments to be pleased and happy in.”

And so the day-fly continued to dance in the sun and smell the clover and honeysuckle. His day ended as happily as he spent it, and he settled down on a blade of grass.

If all of us could approach our day the way the day-fly does, as though this were our only day, we would spend less time worrying about yesterday and tomorrow.

How can I show my gratitude for the gift of this day?

Answer: Smile at your life.

“To Thee, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”
Psalms 25:1

Allow yourself to sit comfortably in your seat. Take a deep and slow breath, in and out. Feel yourself relaxing in the bright presence of God. Bring to mind the seashore; see the tide of the ocean coming in and going out. Notice the ebb and flow. See if you can feel the rhythm of that flow.

The tide comes in and it goes out, again and again, ceaselessly ebbing and flowing.

There is a great secret to that flow. In Christianity, we call it the Holy Spirit, and there is a rhythm to its movement. Wonderfully, perhaps even miraculously, you and I have been given a physical complement to this ebb and flow; it is our breath.

Deeply relax in the silence of prayer …

Become conscious, now, of your lungs filling with air and then letting the air go. We can picture the ocean flowing in and out, as we breathe in and out. This rhythm, being conscious of the flow of breath, stills the mind and stops that endless chatter of thoughts. It brings us to that state we call the silence that lies so deep within us. Like the depths of the ocean, all is still, yet all is still vitally alive, the source of life.

Ask that we spend a few minutes or so, in the silence of prayer, following our breath in and out. If you wish, you can continue to picture the ebb and flow of the ocean as you do so.

We will rest together in the silence of prayer …

On the in breath allow the full love of God to come in. As you exhale allow all resentment and old disturbances of mind to leave you.

We are one in the great love of God.

On the in breath allow the full wisdom of God to enter your mind. As you exhale, you let go of old concepts and opinions that are not to the Christ standard.

On the in breath allow the full health of God to take residence in every cell. As you exhale you let go of any impurity that has been held within the body.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We receive from God and we give. Dear God we ask a simple prayer that we can serve more. We ask that we can make a difference because of the difference you have made in on us. We are ready and we are willing to be of service now. Help us to give more and be less concerned about ourselves.

For this knowledge and experience, we are grateful,

In the name of Jesus Christ … Amen.

Perhaps the greatest gift you could ever give yourself is a change in attitude. As we move through this New Year let us resolve to do things differently.

Sometimes, we let things get us down – the negative words others say seem to pierce our very being. We listen to the news or read the newspaper, and begin to think in a “doom and gloom” perspective. Sometimes, it is conditions that can get us down – our seeming lack of finances or challenges at home or on the job. Perhaps, we are dealing with an illness, whether our own or a loved one’s, and everything seems so dark.

There is no human being anywhere who does not have some problem which he or she is working on. But not one of these people is alone: God is always there. This is God’s world.

Often, things will get us down IF WE LET THEM. We have a choice: Are we going to think about the problem, or think about God? The problem often seems to stare us in the face and challenges us to think about it, dwell on it, to replay and magnify it, to deal with it until we are frozen in our tracks, afraid to move in any direction. When we view the problem in our minds, we view it through our human microscope. Then it seems huge, overpowering, overwhelming, and impossible to solve. Know that GOD IS BIGGER THAN ANY PROBLEM by speaking those very words frequently.

Instead of magnifying problems, see them as molehills rather than mountain-sized obstacles; remember that God is bigger than any molehill, or mountain. God Eternal will stand against the temporal. When God stands with us, we win.

Simply THINK ABOUT GOD INSTEAD OF THE PROBLEM.

The problem may shout, “Think about me!” “Think about me!” But if we are wise, we will turn away, turnaround, and think about God. Then the Divine floods our being, light fills the darkness, and our own minds begin to thaw from the frozen depths of fear. New ideas race in, and all the while, it is as if we have been plugged in to recharge. New power is now ours from God. Our minds see from a new perspective; we see our problem with 20/20 positive vision. We see it only as a minor challenge because WE ARE NOT ALONE! God is with us. THEN, AND ONLY THEN, DO WE DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM.

Too many people try to deal with their problems from their humanness alone. They are afraid and they feel overwhelmed and confused. Many people lack power because they drain themselves through Wasted Worry Thought. Do not spend time on W W T, spend time on G O D. The golden key that opens up any human life is: TO THINK ABOUT GOD – FIRST.

Always think about God first, before thinking about your problem. Act as God directs, speak as God directs, follow God’s guidance, and you are led through the maze of life with an uncanny perfection. GOD NEVER MAKES A WRONG MOVE.

Say this prayer, today, before thinking about any problem:

“God empowers, protects, surrounds, and infills me, right now. God radiates forth from me, clearing my way. My way is paved with the good of God; nothing but good awaits me and mine. My problem dissipates now before the radiant life of God. My mind and body, in all circumstances, are cleansed, renewed, and regenerated into newness of life. I proclaim with Jesus, “God and I are one.”

When you think about God instead of the problem, your life begins to change. YOU MAKE THE DECISION TO CHANGE THE CHANGEABLE WITH THE CHANGELESS.

God is always the answer, always the perfect way. Your humanness consents to an infilling of Divine power and mountains crumble.

When outer problems disappear, you may however, discover that your life still has some down moments, some low energy times, even some mild depression that you always believed was caused by your problems. You also make the discovery that you live in your mind – you perceive everything from your own perspectives within your own mind. Many people tried to escape this through vacations, or changing jobs, homes, and/or relationships. But because we live in our minds, we take our minds with us wherever we go. TIME AGAIN – TO GO TO GOD.

How do you go to God? Each day upon arising, PRAY AND MEDITATE and allow God’s silent power to infill you with strength of body and mind, as well as new happiness. Then, as you shower and dress, TALK TO GOD about what is on your mind, the agenda in your day, and place it in God’s mind.

If you are low on energy or down in spirit, GENERATE “UP” – begin to accelerate your spirit. At first, it may feel forced, but it will begin to flow automatically, filling and thrilling you with its power. It is truly the movement of God. People who generate “up” have quantum capacity for success in their day. God radiates in them, for them, and through them to others.

The most difficult part IS the human turning on of this God-empowered engine. Once started, it runs by itself, long into the night. Staying “up” is then easy. On down days, turn on your smile, turn on your love, turn on your “outgoingness,” and turn on your humor– even when you do not feel like it. Work at it – SPEAK POSITIVE PRAYER AFFIRMATIONS to yourself during this early period in the day – for about 20 minutes – until it becomes who you are. You will become the manifestation of all the “up-ness” of God. Before each meeting, or important work that needs to be done through you, speak this positive prayer affirmation: “I now exchange my human power for God’s power.”

You are never alone. God is always with you, and God is always up! A down world has no power against an “up” God!
