“They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither.”
Psalms 1:3

This message is created in the hopes of lifting our vision to the full spectrum of color and depth offered to us on a daily basis from God. There is always much more than the human eye can comprehend in the beginning. There is greater beauty to be found in daily life.

In many parts of the country there are children going back-to-school. Another fabulous Summer Has come to an end, preparing the way for a fabulous fall.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. In Texas, the heat wave of July and August give way to cooler temperatures.

Just as there are different seasons of the year, there are also different seasons of your life.

Occasionally a season may be one of growth in which you have a spurt of energy and creativity and accomplish much in your life. Another season can be a time of rest and dormancy in which you are quiet and contemplative and nothing appears to be happening with you or through you.

What you realize from the changes in you is that a time of rest is just as important as a time of activity. Cycles are very important in life. In a time of quiet, you are preparing to do more and be more. Just like the body needs sleep at night, the soul also needs time to renew and refresh.

Out of seasons of spiritual awareness, a new you emerges. The human ears and eyes are intricately fashioned receptors of an untold number of sights and sounds. When we take a moment to stop what we are doing and then look and listen to what God has to show us, our life can be truly blessed. During seasons in our life of major change, we are afforded the opportunity of longer periods of time in communion with God.

We look at the sights of God, we take time daily to stop, look, and listen to the sights and sounds of God’s presence.

In Psalms 63:5, our Bible states, “My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast.”

The enrichment of your life begins with you. As you recognize and release an inner God-given gift, what I like to call “the spark of Spirit,” you are enthused again about being totally alive in Spirit, mind, and body.

Through a spiritual season of preparation, you now realize that the yearning you might not have recognized before is for the unconditional love of God, the infallible wisdom of God, and the all-pervading presence of God.

You know that nothing could bless you more than knowing God, knowing that the Spirit of God lives with you, moves through you as energy and assurance, and out from you as love and wisdom.

You will know in all the seasons of your life – the truth of Psalms 67:6, “God, our God, has blessed us.” You will say with all certainty, every day, of every season, “God, thank You for continually blessing me.”

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I pray that the world continually opens up to my vision in a kaleidoscope of wonder.

I pray that I no longer see black and white but see the full spectrum of the wonder God.

I pray everywhere that I go I am in continual wonder and awe at what God has done.

I pray that I live in gratitude and thankfulness.

In the early 1950s Mahalia Jackson found herself before a sellout crowd in New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall. “I stood there,” she later recalled, “gazing out at thousands of men and women who had come to hear me – a baby nurse and a washerwoman – on the stage where great artists like Caruso and Lily Pons and Marian Anderson had sung, and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to make a sound.” But sing she did, and “The more I sang the more people in the audience cried out for joy. As the beat picked up, hands started flying and feet started tapping and folks began to shout all over the great Hall.”

Jackson had risen from humble beginnings in New Orleans to become hailed as the world’s greatest gospel singer – the “Queen of gospel music.”

Mahalia’s formal education ended abruptly with the eighth grade, when she took a job as a laundress. In 1928, although only 16, Mahalia moved to Chicago, where she lived with two of her aunts. Her plans to study nursing were dashed when one of her aunts became ill, making it necessary for Mahalia to work to help make ends meet.

In 1932 the untrained Mahalia paid a hard-earned 4 dollars to her professor on Chicago’s South side – for what turned out to be her one and only singing lesson. The professor berated his would be pupil, telling her to “stop hollering” and sing her songs “so that white people can understand them.”

Mahalia never went back for another lesson.

Gradually, Mahalia’s musical talent was noticed outside religious circles. Jazz promoters invited her to sing in nightclubs, with one promising her as much as $25,000 per night to perform in Las Vegas. Consistently, she turned down all such engagements, insisting that she was first and foremost a gospel singer. “When you sing gospel songs, you have a feeling that there is a cure for what is wrong,” she said. But “when you get through with the blues, you’ve got nothing to rest on.”

In 1972 Mahalia died in Evergreen Park, Illinois. At the Greater Salem Baptist Church, more than 40,000 people filed past her coffin to pay their final respects. Because such a large crowd was expected, her funeral service was held at at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.

Although Mahalia received accolades from around the world, she always maintained a deep sense of humility about herself and her gifts saying, “My success is the work of the Lord.”

Apart from Christ there is no explanation for such a life.

How do you in your life rise above conditions, lack, limitation and worry? You do it by going consistently to God and allowing God to consistently work in and through your life.

Are we professionals or amateurs in life? The professional goes to God for help continuously. The successful professional realizes it is not her or him but God that produces the success.

When he sees a log jam, the professional logger climbs a tall tree and locates a key log, and has that log blown up and lets the stream do the rest. An amateur would start at the edge of the jam and move all the logs, eventually moving the key log. Obviously, both methods will get the logs moving, but the professional does his work more quickly and effectively.

In Proverbs 3:25,26 it states, “Do not be afraid of sudden panic, or the storm or the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.”

“This one thing I do,” said Paul. Most people would have to alter that and confess, “these fifty things I dabble in.”

There are many detours in life, but we can choose the direct route. The direct route to success is continuous connection to God.

Do you know that you’re capable of great things? Young people believe this easily but let’s be honest as we get older our dreams can fade or diminish. We often get blindsided by so-called reality. This is one of the meanings of Jesus telling you to become like a little child again. God is a big thinker about your future, but you must consent in your free-will.

This year let’s dare to dream.

“How you see the world first determines your attitude, and then your attitude determines how the world sees you.” Mark Amend

We are all capable, for within each of us is a God-given gift often unopened or fully realized. God fills us with drive and encouragement needed to reach our goals. But what if our dreams seem unattainable? Anything and everything IS possible with God.

What if the great explorers had doubted themselves and decided to stay home rather than to explore? Some might believe that such a trip IS STILL impossible. What if the inventors of the light bulb and the automobile hadn’t taken chances and explored the unknown possibilities? We would be in the dark and still on horseback.

Today, let’s set our goals, AND RELY ON GOD. Let’s prepare ourselves for delightful serendipity of positive surprise as God’s help comes through again, and again. Today we choose to dare to dream – again.

So many people think or talk about doing something, BUT they never have the time to follow through. Well, why not make today the time to begin to do it? With God, you can!

Have you been wanting to meet new people? Well, today is your day – do it!

The only thing stopping you is yourself. Your faith in God will be your courage, protection, and your guide.

Have you been wanting to get in better physical shape? Today is your day – do it!

Have you been wanting to start a new hobby? There is no better time than the present moment, so why not find a hobby or sport to add to your creativity.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “There is … a time for every matter.”

Rather than just thinking and talking of trying something new, you dare to dream and you put feet on your dreams by becoming a go getter and doing it beginning right now.

What a realization to know God is where we are. When we are searching for understanding in our lives, when we ask the question, “What should I do?” The answer always consists of just one word – pray. That is what we are here to do now. We join with our prayer ministry and we join with believing people, everywhere. Only One can instruct you in what you should do. That One is the Spirit of God. No one else has authority to say you must take a certain line of action.

We are here now to go into the sweet kingdom of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We are here to accept our guidance from God. The Spirit of God will tell you what your solution should be. We are not to be anxious if our instructions are not spelled out for us, word for word.

You have faith that you are being guided. Then, you take the course of action, either clearly revealed to you as the right one, or that you feel, through an inner urging, is the right one.

This is our time with God. It is a magical time in the kingdom of God. The silent, still voice speaks in ways we do not know. I ask you to rest for a moment in the silence and to attune yourself to the stillness, the peace, the wholeness, and the comfort of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, I come to You with my human self. I come to Your power and Your glory. I am tired of doing things on my own. Please guide me and please help me to break the habits I so wish to break, this morning. Infill me with your power and clear direction. Fill me with peace of mind and fill me with radiant health throughout my body.

I pray for increased energy. For those of you who have had dips in energy, recently, who do not feel up to par, I pray that God is quickening your energy level. May God create a new energy and motivation in your daily living.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

For those who need healing, know that God your creator is perfection, health, and ever-new aliveness. For those of you who are seeking answers, God has all the answers you are wanting. Turning to God, may you find the answers you seek, this day.

Those of you who are having prosperity challenges, God is your source of unfailing, unending, ever-accelerating prosperity. May you turn with me now to the Source which never fails. With an unshakable uncertainty in God, you are able to go forward in your life. God courage and decision rises up inside of you. You are one with the perfection of Spirit, radiating out from you. God is greater than any problem. God is bathing you in perfection.

Decree: I am a child of almighty God. I have faith in God’s spirit with me to inspire me and to guide me – to help me over any challenge that seems to be blocking me and to get to the point where I have in God the power to break those bad habits.

I pray this begins RIGHT NOW. You, my friend, are no longer on a fixed course going down the wrong road. May you be stopped in your tracks and redirected with the energy, motivation, and power of the Christ. May you have the power to turn around. May you have the power to make a quantum shift and jump in your life.

Today you are strengthened with all might by the power of God in you. Strength of mind, strength of spirit, strength of emotions, and strength of body are yours as you realize the power of God in you.

You are strong and stable in the midst of confusion or unrest, for you have faith in God to make all things right. Your faith gives you the strength of spirit, and strength of emotions.

You are strong and fearless in any circumstance or situation because you know that God is with you strengthening you and filling you with courage and fortitude.

Today, you are strong and vitally alive, for the life of God in the midst of you is powerful and life sustaining. Your strength is increased, your vitality is renewed, and you are whole and well in mind and body.

You are strong and capable, for you are strengthened by all might with the full power of God. You have God-given strength, God-given energy, and God-given abilities with which to accomplish all things.

You turn your attention away from weakness to God’s strength. You turn your whole attention to God. You lay aside every problem. You let go of all tension and with your whole heart you say: Here I am, God.

You listen for God’s Word of inspiration. You rest and you feel your oneness with God. In God, your strength is complete. In God, you have new confidence. In God, you find faith to know that all will be well. In God, you are on your path to your divine purpose.

In a still knowing, and peaceful reassurance, you open your mind to think thoughts that God gives you. You open your heart and let God’s love fill it to overflowing.

God’s love will be allowed to go forth from you to bless those that you meet.

No matter what the appearance you know that God’s presence is now at hand. You feel God’s strength all through this day. You feel God’s guidance. You place yourself and all that concerns you in God’s care and keeping. All worry leaves you, and you are at peace. You trust God with all your heart and you look to God as the answer to your every need.

Old age is coming at a really bad time!

When I was a child I thought Nap Time was a punishment … now, as a grown up, it just feels like a small vacation!

The biggest lie I tell myself is … “I don’t need to write that down, I’ll remember it.”

If God wanted me to touch my toes, God would’ve put them on my knees.

I’m going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I’ll do the second week.

I didn’t make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven’t met yet …

Why do I have to press one for English when you’re just gonna transfer me to someone I can’t understand anyway?

2023 Advice from an Old Farmer

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

Words that soak into your ears are whispered … not yelled.

Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

It doesn’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

Every path has a few puddles.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.

Don’t judge folks by their relatives.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good, honorable life … Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.

Don’t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t bothering you none.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.

Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around.

In 2023 I manifest my God-given health.
Within me courses the pure, perfect, healing life of God.
I think about the pattern of perfection within me, the image of God in which I am created and the spiritual floodgates open.
Healing flows within me as I center my attention in prayer on the pure life of God.
I am healed through and through, day by day, month by month – this year!
I bless God’s perfect life making me whole and well, and keeping me that way, in this God-given time of 2023.
My mind overflows with praise and thanksgiving to God.

A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the preacher decided to visit him.

It was a chilly evening. The preacher found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his preachers visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.

The preacher made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the preacher took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember’s flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The preacher glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the preacher reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, “Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I shall be back in church next Sunday.”

We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.

The Lord is my Shepherd —– that’s a Relationship!

I shall not want —– that’s Supply!

God maketh me to lie down in green pastures —–that’s Rest!

God leadeth me beside the still waters —–that’s Refreshment!

God restoreth my soul —– that’s Healing!

God leadeth me in the paths of righteousness —-that’s Guidance!

For God’s name sake —– that’s Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death—–that’s Trust!

I will fear no evil —– that’s Protection!

For Thou art with me —– that’s Faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me —–that’s Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies—–that’s Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil —– that’s Consecration!

My cup runneth over —– that’s Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life—–that’s Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord —–that’s Security!

Forever —– for your soul, that’s Eternity!

Face it, God is crazy about you!

United we stand, divided we fall – this is especially true of habits. Take bad habits individually, alone, and attack them with the full power of God’s help.

I enjoy going to art galleries in studying the great masters.

When you first look at a painting, you see color, form, and texture. But when you take time to study the painting, you discover so much detail and artistry you missed at first glance.

The same is true when you take a good look at yourself. Take time to study the details of your life and determine whether the things you regularly do, your habits, are in your best interests.

Make a habit of getting over a bad habit. Take them one by one.

Negative habits often seem to be comforting – but that comfort is extremely temporary. The long-term effects of negative habits can be harmful. So you focus on freedom that is available to you from God.

Through God, in a leap of faith you shake off any unwanted habits. You asked very sincerely in prayer for God’s help.

God wants to help you.

As you begin anew, you no longer feel vulnerable or dependent upon hiding behind your habits. You become free! And God will protect you, love you, and guide you through the day and making your way easier.

If you are going through a challenge with a bad habit, God is where you can find strength and comfort.

God will always offer an encouraging word and the strength to overcome. The answer lies in your own faith in God. Faith tells you God is guiding you and that the right outcome is even now coming about through you.

Whether you are conscious of it or not, God’s Will is actively at work in your life and in the lives of others. As you recognize this truth and work with God rather than worrying about this bad habit and allowing it to take over your life, you will find that your life is so much smoother.

You will be surprised and delighted by the humans God sends to you, working with God, they will help to see you through.

You are not alone. You are not the only one in the world that has this habit. We pray that God will surround you with people that have already overcome the identical bad habit.

Some of the greatest people this writer has known have overcome some of the worst habits known to humankind and become a stronger and better people in that overcoming.

Know for yourself, and for others, that each person is a being of eternal oneness and strength with God. The human mind will tell you are weak, defenseless, and have no power over your habit, but this is far from true! As it says in the Bible, “The truth will set you free.”

Bad habits do not hold truth, the only hold falsehoods, and lies.

The truth is that God can heal you, help you, strengthen you, empower you and bring others to help you when you can’t help yourself.

Consent to this now, decide that this is the day; this is the time for healing of this bad habit.

God offers you comfort and support you in profound Divine and human ways. Because God is always supporting you, each day will be brighter than the day before.

Dear God, I ask for Your strength and help.

I pray for Your motivation so that I may move forward in a positive way.

I am open and receptive to the ideas and help that You send my way.

Once and for all I consent to the permanent removal of this bad habit from my life.

Dear God, I pray that I am motivated and dedicated to manifesting complete harmony in my world. I ask You, God, to empower me and gift me with a presence of Divine harmony in and through me, so that I may give it away to others in my world. I know that I am one with You, God. Therefore I know that my request is heard and granted.

I pray that within my own mind and body there is harmony so that I may be fully empowered to go forward on this mission of love. I will be a peacemaker and a light for Your harmony every day and every place this year.

” … I will open the windows of heaven for you and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
Malachi 3:10

I am open and ready to receive my good from God. I no longer put self-imposed limits on how much that good can be. I accept God’s good Into my life right now.

I do not judge what I can have in the future by what I have had in the past. I believe in God’s good and I ask for a Divine revelation illuminating my mind causing it to expand to believe in greater good. I ask for the windows of heaven to be opened up in all areas and for the good of God to be made completely manifest here and now. I know that avenues of wide supply are mine for the claiming. I claim God’s good now.

I believe in miracles and I believe in Divine intervention and therefore I fully accept God coming in this moment to bring good into my life. Jesus says that, “The fields are white to the harvest now.” I claim my harvest and accept my good of God’s wondrous supply. God’s good rains on my life in a continuous sweet outpouring of love. I accept complete health in my physical body and human brain.

I accept the fact that I will not remain the same and am open to change for the better. I accept the fact that I will not hold myself back. I willingly move forward to accept the good of God. I will live God’s life realizing it is God’s will for my life to be surrounded and infilled with good and love. I accept God’s good now. I accept God’s love now.

I do not limit God. I do not limit myself as God’s child. I do not limit my life because my life is continually filled with God’s provision. God is the source of my supply and I accept it now. As I accept God’s good, I realize that I do not take good from anyone else. God’s supply is abundant and enough for everyone equally. With God’s help, and true faith, I expand my mind to a greater realization of what it means to be an heir of God.

God is the creator of my physical body, mind and life. God creates a wonderful life, in my life, and I accept that life now. In all areas of my mind, in my free-will, I say yes to God. I say yes to God’s provision. I say yes to God’s good. I say yes to God’s love. I agree to walk the higher path of the spiritual life. I will enjoy the sweetness of the good that You provide dear God. I consent fully to God’s guidance and direction. I am willing God to have Your Divine action in every aspect and area of my life. I consent to ever-expanding dynamic movement of perfection into my mind and daily living. I pray that I am a magnet charged with Divine energy to draw my good to me.

I pray that I do not struggle within myself trying to hold on to old ways of human thinking and human doing. I willingly allow in my free-will a Divine supersedence of any lower human limitation that I have placed on my life by holding that limited thought in my mind. I agree to be lifted out of the self-imposed prisons of lack that I have claimed through worry and fear. I pray that I have an abundance of understanding in mind.

Your guidance will continually lead me on to a better life. I promise to be a good steward of the provision that is provided for me. I swear to You dear God that I will not hoard or confine the good to myself. I will share and uplift others in the way that You have uplifted me. I also swear an oath that I will live my life as an example of being Your apostle. As You increase the velocity of my life, I also pray that You will equip me so that I will remain in peace no matter what changes are happening around me. I will no longer believe that my good that is coming to me today will end tomorrow. I believe in God’s good ever-expanding, increasing and multiplying daily. I realize that I have many avenues for my good to come to me but only one source. God, You are the permanent source of my abundance.

I will not limit myself in the workplace because You are with me and you are limitless. I accept any good that comes my way including promotions or job offers. I agree to come to You first in prayer with any offer that I receive so that we can discuss the proper direction of movement for our future. I will willingly go where You lead because I realize that wherever You lead I am going to meet with a better life than before. As wonderful as today is, the best is yet to be. The best of my life is ahead of me not behind me. I do not live my life by looking in the rear view mirror. I look forward with great expectation and anticipation.

I believe, I have faith, and I have a knowing in Your power to bring greater good into my life. I live today filled with hope, expecting and accepting the good of God. I believe in positive outcomes and positive surprises.
