“Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”
Acts 5:20

A minister and author, Carol Ruth Knox came up with the different phases of a life quest that we all go through. I want to share this important message with you, as we go into the new year of 2011. Hopefully, it will be as meaningful to your life as it was to mine.

I have asked an incredibly special person to be with us this morning. This is (introduce a small child from Sunday School). The reason I want (Name) to come and share this moment with us is because (Name) represents all of us. At one time or another, (Name), all of us were just like you. We were little boys and little girls, just like you. We call this our first phase of our life.

It is our INNOCENCE phase of life.

I remember when I was about (Name’s) age; I was going to Sunday School. I was fortunate to be raised in a Christian home.

Can you relate to (Name)? Can you relate to that young, innocent age? In your memory, you can still see what you saw as a little child, can’t you? You might remember your own Sunday School, hearing for the first time, the stories of Jesus and all the wonderful things about God and creation. You can still probably remember some of the songs you sang.

This was so meaningful. Do you remember one Sunday when your parents said, “It is time for you to go to the big church.” You were excited about going to the big church because that was the room where all those beautiful, stained glass windows were and where that big pipe organ was.

The sun’s rays were coming through those stained-glass windows. All the adults, who were friends of your parents, gave you a smile of approval for being there. It was a joy-filled experience – – a journey in your own spirituality. We are on that journey again, now, as we venture together into our new year experience.

As you grew, you had wonderful things happen in your life, AND SOME not so good THINGS. Some people questioned what this had to do with the Sunday School teaching of an all-good loving God. This God of love was now, falsely, becoming a God of wrath and judgment and punishment in their own minds. You see, at that moment, some have the death of this innocent phase, because this good God that they felt so close to, who was a friend of theirs, was now a God that they did not want to have anything to do with.

VICTIM STAGE

We sometimes go from this faith of innocence into the second phase of life which is our VICTIM stage.

Beloved, many hundreds of people are walking the streets, today, that are locked into this VICTIM stage of their lives. You see, there are several things that go on during this victim stage of life. Where God was their friend as a child, now there was a separation from God. God was not close to them anymore. God was separate, way up in the sky. They did not know where this God was, but they thought of God like the giant in “Jack in the Beanstalk.” God was some big giant looking down. Adults always talked about the man upstairs. God was looking at everything that you did bad or did wrong.

When you are in the victim stage of life, you do not give because you want to give. You give out of fear. You try to live up to all these expectations, all these rules and regulations. As Paul said, as hard as I tried, it seemed as if I was always missing the mark. I was not quite living this God standard that was placed on me.

One man told this story, “I will never forget that in my church you were not supposed to dance or play cards or go to movies (especially on Sunday). During World War II, I was sitting in a movie theater eating popcorn, watching a John Wayne war movie. All of a sudden, I realized that it was Sunday and I was at a movie. I can remember sitting in the theater thinking, ‘I sure hope Jesus doesn’t come this Sunday afternoon.’ If He did, I was sure I was going to Hell instead of Heaven, because I was at the movies at the wrong time.”

When we are in this VICTIM stage, we have a life of punishment. We have a life that is unfulfilling. Not only do we search and yearn for this oneness or closeness with God, but we find ourselves at a loss because of trying to fulfill all the expectations of other people.

A woman said, “I was in this stage when, one day, I told a friend of mine, ‘I am going to stop going to that church because I go in with ten pounds of weight on my shoulders, and when I leave I have 100 pounds. I can hardly get out of there because of the weight of guilt.'”

Jesus Christ said, “For my yoke (weight upon you) is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:30

God is love, and the true Christian message is loving, and makes you feel better when you leave, than when you entered.

VICTORY STAGE

John 14:20 reads like this: “On that day, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me and I am in you.” To me, this is the moment that you leave the VICTIM stage of your life and enter the VICTORY stage of life. I hope everybody here this morning is in the victory stage of life, because I hope you know that God is within you, helping you right here, right now. The power of God is with you. We can have it all – – because, with God, you are a VICTOR. God and you become friends for life. You become partners in life with God.

Your mind is the connecting link with God in prayer, through thoughts, and feelings. We have the conscious awareness where we find spiritual truths with all our senses.

Jesus said to be in the world but not of it. We cannot help being on this life plane that we are on today, but through our spiritual connection with God we can be less affected by our world in a negative way. We can be empowered by God. Sod is not affected to situations and circumstances outside of us.

The VICTOR phase utilizes our memory mind in the proper way. This is that reservoir that holds all our thoughts and feelings through our lifetime. It is a wonderful part of our mind. In fact, it is our computer. It is that phase of our mind that enabled the men to tie our ties this morning. We did not have to learn how to tie a tie again. This morning, you automatically put on your shoes or made a pot of coffee. You did not have to sit down and get a cookbook out to see how to make a pot of coffee. It comes instantly because you know how to do it. When you got in your automobile this morning, you put the key in, backed it up, and drove here. You see, the memory will take anything we give it, and it will hold it for a very long time. But also the memory mind does not understand jokes. If you say, “I am sick,” it registers that you are sick, and the body responds with the effects of your thoughts.

These negative things are stored in our memory, as well as the positive things we pray. In the memory phase of our mind, the history of all our thoughts and feelings are stored. It is a wonderful part of our mind, because God is within it as much as in our conscious mind. God is the Creator that made all our minds.

What you are today – is the sum total of your thoughts of yesteryear. What you are going to be in the future -will be the sum total of your thoughts of today. It is just that simple.

Life is consciousness. In other words, if you project love and spiritual thoughts in your mind, you are projecting a wonderful life ahead of you, where all your needs are met in 2011 and beyond.

In a restaurant, I overheard a woman, who was close to retirement, talking. She said, “I hope I die before I get broke. I hope I do not outlive my money.” When we know that God is our Source, we do not have to worry. Some way, we know that all our needs will be taken care of. God has told us this. God looks after lilies of the field and the birds of the air. We are the most beautiful part of God nature because our souls are created in God’s image and after God’s likeness. Therefore, we can create our own life experience with God’s wonderful help, the same way as God as created us in the beginning.

The conscious level of our minds is the present. Our memory level is our past. And the future is in the level of our minds that consents to an infilling of God’s Divine ideas and help.

Looking to our past constantly to predict our future would be like trying to drive our cars forward, but only looking through the rearview mirror. The choice is ours. Isn’t it wonderful that we are free to choose? God is no respecter of persons. Love and Divine help have equal access to all, everywhere.

No one is exempt from the good laws of God. God loves us all the same, with an unconditional love that Jesus told us about.

As we get older and see that life is unfolding, we see that we all had the Innocent phase of life, the VICTIM stage, and the VICTORY stage. After we accumulate all these possessions and nice things, we find that there is something missing. Now we are ready for that final phase of life. We move from that victory stage of life, from our head to our heart.

VESSEL STAGE

This final phase of life is the VESSEL phase. It is a wonderful phase. In this phase, we know that oneness that Jesus urged us to feel – God and I are one. You see, in the VICTIM stage of life, we gave out of fear. In the VICTORY stage of life, we give because we will receive. But when we get into the VESSEL stage of life, we give because we cannot help ourselves. In the VICTORY stage of life, we give because we think we will receive. But when we get into the VESSEL stage of life, we love because it is our nature to love. We give because we cannot help ourselves from giving. WE WANT TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK!

There was once an elderly man who had just turned 100 years of age. He was seen the day after his birthday in his front yard with a shovel in his hand. He was outside planting a row of young seedling peach trees.

A 30-year-old neighbor could not contain himself any longer, asked the question, “Do you really expect to eat the peaches, years from now, from those young trees?

The old man leaned on a shovel and smiled. He said, “All my life I have been eating peaches from trees that other people planted. Now, I am planting these trees so that someday, someone else will enjoy the benefits of what I have done this day.”

You see, when we get into this vessel stage of life, it is that “Let go and let God” phase.

Why do you suppose we spend so much of our lives thinking we know better than God does for our lives? I think it must be something about control. You see, when we are in the VICTORY stage, we are in our head so much and that is where we have our ego. In the VICTIM stage, there is no ego, just suppression. But now, we let go of our ego. “It is not my will but thine be done. God, my will is Thy will.”

When we know that we and the Creator are working in unison, we are co-creators. We let go and let God be God through us. We do not worry about possessions. We know that if the “thing” is destroyed, God will give us an even better “thing.” Or if our house burns up, we will get a better house. Or if our relationship falls apart, there will be a better relationship coming our way. We even have no problem with death, because we know there is a better life ahead. I am saying that with this knowing, dear friends, that we can live a life of joy and freedom and love, and not worry about the future, because it is God ordained to be absolutely good. God is going ahead of us preparing the way of good in 2011.

I do not know where you are in your life. I hope no one here is a VICTIM. This morning, I hope there are VICTORS in each of us, and I hope it is the VESSEL where we are looking to go. It is wonderful knowing that we are looking toward that perfection of God.

Do you remember the ancient proverb? You give a man a fish and he will feed himself for one meal, but if you teach him to fish, he can feed himself forever. Christianity is showing people how to fish. It is a wonderful business to be in. And, it is wonderful to be with the likes of you this morning, marching into a freer life for all concerned.

Actually this is not like climbing a ladder, spiritual growth cycles through these stages many times in a lifetime because of various events that happened. Our purpose in life is to rise higher, and to stay there, instead of being tossed and turned by the winds of adversity.

Let us just close our eyes for a moment for prayer.

As we let go in prayer, we find ourselves on this eternal quest, we rise from the innocent to the VICTIM, letting go of that with God’s help, we rise above the VICTIM to the VICTOR. We look for being the VESSEL, with our body and mind, actively, THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD, the vessel that God will fill, and will never run dry. Thank you God for being within us, for being our Source of all good.

We pray in the name and through the power of Jesus Christ … Amen.

PRAYER / MEDITATION___________________________

In preparing for prayer, I invite you to become still. If you have anything in your hand that might be a discomfort, please put it aside. I invite you to become still and relaxed. Relax in the seat you are sitting in. As we come to this special time of the day, realize that this is your time:

A gift from God.

This is the time that we put aside all our cares of life – the business of getting here, the anxiety of driving through the snow and ice–and we become centered in that spiritual oneness with God.

God is the precious, powerful, imminent Source that is always with you. That love of God is a refuge to which we can go to regain our strength in a time of need. As we come to this new time of the year where new beginnings are made, we renew ourselves in the knowing that we are one with the One, that one Presence and that one Power of God.

In the silence of prayer …

Jesus said, “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” So, today, we rejoice in that oneness with the Christ presence. That presence that was in Jesus Christ is also the same presence that is active in our lives, this morning, in the depths of our hearts and souls.

Now, as you relax further in a deeper state of consciousness, I invite you to let go and let that Presence be your counselor, your physician, and your helper. As we go through our quest of life, this timeless advancing of our souls, we are free. We are unlimited. Through God, with us RIGHT NOW, we have the strength to overcome any challenges of the appearances of the outside world.

So now, let us take a moment to be in the silence of prayer with God …

Dear God, we give thanks that we can come to You, anytime of the day or night. We like to go to the top. We are thankful, dear God, that You have an open door policy and that Your door is always open to us, day or night. We give thanks that we can come to You at any moment, at any time of need. We pray this knowing our oneness with You.

In the name and through the power of Jesus Christ … Amen.

CHRISTMAS PRAYER / MEDITATION

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.net

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

(For donations to be credited to the calendar year 2023 – see below)

“The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
Luke 1:35

From my family to your family I wish you a joyous Christmas filled with the presence of God’s love manifesting.

In Romans 8:28 it says, “In everything God works for good for those who love God.” A mighty assurance is contained in these words.

You love God and I love God. We rely upon God’s power to adjust and regulate all things. We realize that Divine adjustment by God is mighty to bring about complete change in all the circumstances of our lives, and to establish perfect order.

Right now, we begin to set our world in order by reforming our thoughts. Our Christmas festivities will be blessed by God and filled with God love. Let us invoke the Divine wisdom of God to guide our thinking and let us lay hold of and make manifest the great thoughts of God; the ideas that point the way by which we are to establish God’s kingdom.

In this moment, I invite you to discover God within the peace of the silence of prayer.

Let us be still …

God is with us right now. God’s thoughts are accessible to us. God is your guide; your helper in EVERY task you are given to do this Christmas. God helps you to bring order out of every seemingly perplexing situation that confronts you. When you look to God, your mind is quickened to see the way to take.

Your faith is quickened to see how things are working together for good.

You are now undisturbed by conditions were people who had let stress get the best of them. God gives you the assurance that all is well. You need only to be receptive to God’s wise counsel, obey it unquestioningly and let Divine order work through you.

Declare silently in prayer, that God’s wisdom is your guide and God’s law of harmony is the ruling principle of your Christmas.

In the silence of prayer …

Steadfast and strong, unaffected by outer appearances of disharmony, you shall be equal to every emergency when you know that God is all-powerful and that God is the directive power within God’s Creation. You allow the hope of God to become your hope. You allow the peace of God to become your peace. You allow the love of God to become your love. You allow the joy of God to become your joy.

And you bring Christmas into manifestation now in this time of prayer …

God is the creator of all things. And all things love their Creator. They seek to work together for good to all who love God. We place our trust totally in God. We depend on God for help in every situation. No matter what our needs might be, God is with us, and is able to meet them fully, wisely and lovingly. God is our light. God is our strength. God is our perfect help. In trusting God, we have at our call the greatest power that is available; a power that is instant, constant and unfailing.

We are confident because we know we are not alone. God is with us. We are capable because we know that we do not rely on ourselves alone, but we rely upon God working with us. We are successful because God is always successful. We work with God and God flows through our minds and our bodies. Every movement is directed by the Divine.

We have a knowing, in prayer, that God is working through us. And God working through us is equal to every demand.

No emergency of life can be greater than the power of God in us to cope with it.

THROUGH THE PRESENCE AND THE POWER OF GOD, DIVINE ORDER IS NOW ESTABLISHED IN YOU. PEACE AND STABILITY ARE MANIFEST IN YOUR WORLD.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

These Godly thoughts are accepted inside your human mind. These Divine thoughts are acted upon this week, every moment during our Christmas season.

In the nature of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, we say Amen.

Positive Daily Inspiration – November 21, 2023 – Thanksgiving Prayer and Meditation

Positive Daily Inspiration - November 21, 2023
Thanksgiving Prayer and Meditation

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.net

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“Enter into God’s gates with thanksgiving, and into God’s courts with praise: be thankful unto God and bless God’s name. For the LORD is good; God’s mercy is everlasting; and God’s truth endureth to all generations.”
Psalm 107:1

I’d like to share with you an interpretation of The Lord’s Prayer which was written by author James C. Lewis:

“Our Father, who dwells with us, all-powerful is Thy nature. Thy perfection come, Thy good be done, in manifestation as it is in Spirit. Give us this day Divine ideas, and forgive our mistakes, as we forgive the mistakes of others; and lead us not in doubt, but deliver us from ignorance, for Thine is the perfection, the power, and the joy, eternally. Amen.”

As children in Christianity, many learn to sing a song in Sunday School that includes the words:

Count your blessings,
Name them one by one;
Count your many blessings,
See what God has done.

We are here in this prayer place to awaken our spirituality with Thanksgiving. We are here to be grateful for all the lovely things we recall. We are here to prepare our minds and our hearts for a brand-new day ahead. We are here to review the blessings and to be assured of the calm, lasting Presence of our God.

We pause and say thank you, God, for all the blessings that are nourishing and strengthening our soul.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

The spirit of praise and thanksgiving is something we now make a vital, indispensable part of our everyday life. We have a perceptive heart that sees that God bestows upon us much better than we need for our existence.

The mere need for shelter is enriched by warmth and comfort. Food to sustain the body often delights and is served with imagination to please the eye. It is frequently enhanced by interesting conversation and good fellowship. The light and the air and the water necessary to life are set before us in a brilliant sunset over the sea in a masterpiece of Divine Creation. The wind sings a song on a summer night. The rain quenches the earth’s thirst and nourishes beautiful crops and fragrant flowers.

We give thanks for the extras in life, the beauty and that which induces wonder inside of us. We look at our needs and see how simple they are compared to God’s blessings. We take time to go over every blessing and appreciate all the good things God has done for us. We discover that there is far too much beauty and goodness in life to simply fulfill daily purposes. We realize that there is a lavish hand of God that spreads God’s gifts over all the world into every life, touching with grace and generosity every receptive soul.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Thank You, God. We are aware of the love, the goodness and the benefits from You. We are filled with an uplifting and an overwhelming sense of gratitude as words and feelings merge into a warm flow of gladness and exhilaration. We discover that thankfulness lifts out of depression, out of doubt, elevates our own individual soul to a height of spiritual joy and security. Our life expands as we look for and give thanks for appreciations of God. Praise and thanksgiving make us more aware of the good about us. Our thoughts and prayers reach out to include others.

We count our blessings. We learn that God comes to us in every experience and in every person if we are open to God’s Presence. We find in the accumulation of little joys, of small blessings heaped upon other small blessings, that life adds up to a deep and priceless adventure.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We each know the Truth of God. THE LOVING PRESENCE OF GOD PROVIDES FOR MY EVERY NEED. I AM THANKFUL FOR WHAT I HAVE AND FOR WHAT I AM ABOUT TO RECEIVE.

In this spirit of thankfulness, we pray, with a very grateful heart.

In a spirit of thanksgiving and overwhelming gratitude, we say silently, thank You, God.

In Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“It is the time to seek the Lord.”
Hosea 10:12

How good it feels to go to God in prayer. I ask you spiritually, quietly to turn to the presence of God. This is an all-powerful prayer power contact with God, within you. I ask you to have a complete awareness of God. Bring the awareness of God into your mind.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, thank you for the opportunities of life abundantly provided for me on my future path. I ask for Your abiding presence to be with me. I ask that You guide me in the directions that I need to go, and show me the way to the highest accomplishment.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

As you bring the awareness of God to your mind, God will speak to you. Here is what God says to you this moment: Dear child, your future is good. Your future is absolute good. There is a wonderful, tremendous door in front of you. Willingly you have walked through this door. The threshold is wide and long. It is the door of your future. Time is the ultimate gift of God, and you choose to use it wisely and well.

It is your door – God’s door of progress, the door of advancement and achievement. It is the door of God. Open doors of opportunity are now yours to walk through.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

In the very reality of your endless being, radiating streams of life, love, joy, and enthusiasm abound in you. There is a timeless, tireless activity that is happening all around you and within you–the activity of God. The beauty of the universe and you are one. Of this boundless bliss, there will be no end.

God and you and the future are one in security, strength, poise, and power, Wonderfully and well hath God prepared all things for you and yours and all Graciously, lovingly, thoughtfully, God has lavished rich, fruitful provision of Supply for your every need.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You advance now into teeming plenty. You go in and possess the land, the place where the good, the prosperity, and-the health is already prepared for you by God. God hath provided and prepared the way for you to go: There is no space or place where God’s love hath not already, prepared the way for you to go.

Know this minute, in this prayer, that there is no such thing as an unknowable future. God is all knowing and all knowable. The dread, the fearful, ignorant, and superstitious thoughts, all melt away before the blazing light of God’s Truth. The earth is of the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and SO IS the future. New heights reveal new glorious immensities, possibilities without end for you.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You are forever freed from earthbound concepts. Your future is good. God is good – infinite without time, space or distance. You know this. You know that good is just as true now as it will be a billion trillion years from now.

You know that God fills the future and governs your future just as much as God does this day. Tomorrow is growing, right now, out of what you’re thinking and praying about today. Your future, your wondrous, glorious future is going on in your thinking right now.

You are advancing from glory to glory, from the known and the familiar to what God has prepared for those who love God. How we do love God! What do we have to meet in the future? We have to meet God everywhere we go. We dwell on this and think about our love for God as we meet God in the silence of prayer.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Your future is very good because it is already going on in the mind of God.

Dear God, we praise You today and we appreciate You. Thou prepareth a table before us, and, before we get there, everything we need is already prepared and waiting. There is ample provision for me and mine, and all my future is absolute good.

I have a new trust this moment in You.

With God, I rest,
With God I prepare.
There is a Divine great future in my life!

As I prepare to open my eyes, I pray that this prayer time goes on ALL day, and ALL year. I pray that it accelerates an attitude, a feeling, and a perception inside of me of the power of God being with me and for me. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray in the knowledge of that good from God.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE:

“When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don’t blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and argument. That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – June 30, 2023 – ~GOD’S GOOD JUSTICE~

Positive Daily Inspiration - June 30, 2023
~GOD'S GOOD JUSTICE~

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org
̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“Hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.”
Hosea 12:6

Know today that God’s law of love and justice works for all, and because of this, your heart is optimistic and faith-filled.

Some persons seem to operate on two different codes of justice. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is often the code when they are dealing with others. However, they feel that others should be willing to go the second mile in their dealings with them. Often it is easy to see and understand why certain experiences come to others, but when they happen to us, we feel unjustly treated.

God’s justice is based on universal law and plays no favorites, yet it is tempered by love and mercy. We tune in to God’s justice through prayer. Keeping our thoughts and feelings stayed on the idea of Divine law, we open our lives to the fullness of God’s justice.

Attuned to God’s law of love and justice, we never begrudge another a blessing that we may have desired for ourselves. We know that no honest effort is ever wasted and that something as good or better is in store for us.

When we think about justice, often we associate it with some human judgment. God’s justice is not limited to opinions or conclusions, for God’s justice is our loving provision of good from God.

God’s justice is a constant, unfailing presence in our lives. Even in the midst of apparent injustice, you do not have to give in to feelings of worry or concern. Rather, pause for a moment and affirm in prayer, “God’s justice.”

As you do this, you work in perfect harmony with God’s justice. Justice is established, and you cooperate with the perfect outworking of every situation. You release every thought of injustice and therefore, bless every situation in which you are involved through faith in God. You give thanks that God’s justice prevails in every situation and that the highest good of all is assured.

As it says in Romans 8:28, “We know that in everything God works for good with those who love God.”

There is an old story of three blind men, who were arguing over exactly what an elephant might be. One of the men was up front, holding onto the elephant’s trunk. He said to the others, “An elephant is a long, round, muscular animal.”

The second blind man was standing alongside the elephant. He felt the tremendous mass on the side and he said, “Absolutely absurd. Elephants are vast beyond comprehension.”

The third blind man was standing behind the elephant, holding onto the elephant’s tail. He said, “You fools, don’t you know that an elephant is a small, tough, and hairy animal?”

They could not resolve their argument because they continued to hold to their individual points of focus. A fourth man was sitting nearby with his eyes closed. They asked this man what an elephant was. The man, without even opening his eyes, said: “It is simply the idea of an elephant that I carry in my mind.”

If we go to our dictionary, quantum, as it is used in the “quantum theory,” means an elemental unit. But in the new physics of the day, we most often hear it referred to as a “quantum leap.” A quantum leap is that which is a sudden, and extensive change, or advance.

This is a leap year, with God it can be a time for us to make a quantum leap in our lives.

A paradigm is a pattern, an example, or a model. I like to think of it as a mental spiritual map. Maybe we are not always aware of it, but we do have mental spiritual maps. It is through these maps that we map our way through all of the sudden challenges of our lives. We particularly refer to those maps a great deal when some sort of challenge comes along. Persons and organizations have a stamp of identity, that they use as a path or a map, whether it has worked in the past or not.

In the fifth chapter of John [John 5:2-14] the Bible tells us of the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda.

Now in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate there is a pool, called in Hebrew Bethesda, which has five porticoes. In these lay many invalids – blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.

Often this is talked about as the healing story in the Bible of a lame man. But the Bible did not say he was lame. The Bible says he was ill.

When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am making my way, someone else steps down ahead of me.”

For thirty-eight years, he has been lying beside this pool, waiting for the waters to be stirred up, perhaps by the wind, or the current, and it was believed within this short period of time that if you could make your way to the water this would heal you. But there were always people in front of him. He could not make it in time, so he laid there on his mat , Since 1999, .

He said that there was nobody there to help him. This man had quite an attitude of giving up.

Jesus said to him, “Stand up, take your mat, and walk.” At once, the man was made well, and he took up his mat and began to walk.

Now that day was the Sabbath. So, the Jews said to the man who had been cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.” Here is a man who has been ill for thirty-eight years. Now he is walking away with his mat, and they are saying – he cannot do that.

If we look at it in a spiritual way, which is spiritually enlightened? Is it the touch of God and the miracle, or the human ordinances and practices to try to induce spirituality? Something comes to us and we immediately want to know if it is legitimate, direct. We even question the fact that perhaps we feel much better and we have gone through what might be a healing.

But he answered them, “The man who made me well said to me, “Take up your mat and walk.” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take it up and walk?'” The man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared into the crowd. In the minds of the questioners these men were sinning because they were not following the ordinance of God, however it was God that did the actual healing and what better day for God’s actions than on the Sabbath.

This is the part of the story that is usually left out, or is at least skimmed over and nothing is really made of it. It goes on to say: Later, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well! Do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.” He is teaching spiritual cause and effect not the punishment of God.

The symbol of this temple is the enduring temple built in the understanding of God.

All of a sudden, it says that this man who did not even know who Jesus was, who did not even know what Presence was actually healing him, really had no identification with the spiritual whatsoever, but he was NOW in the temple.

The temple had an outer court and an inner court. The outer court is where the Gentiles – the people who had not committed themselves to the laws of God as the Jewish tradition (as the very tradition that brought us our Judeo-Christian heritage) – stayed. It was thought that people who wanted to be near to God would be in the inner court, but the Gentiles were on the outside.

The inner court was quite different. You had to be a Jew who had committed yourself to the law, had gone through rituals, and had purified yourself to be allowed into the inner court. The story does not tell us whether the man was in the inner or outer court, but I choose to believe that he must have been in the inner court, because this is where the realization comes.

(Insert the following if the meditation and prayer was before the sermon)

We prayed that we enter into the inner court, this morning when we were in prayer and meditation. At the end of the meditation, I suggested we go into our closet. That is the inner court, or that which has access to the holy of holies – the whole presence of God.

Lindsay Ferrigo tells us about his ideas of grace versus works. He says it this way: “We should work as though it all depends on us, and we should pray as though it all depends on God.”

You see, there is a little of a dichotomy in some people when they start to pray. They pray as though it all depends on them, and then they go out and blame all the mistakes on God. It is just a little backwards.

Medical doctor, and author, Dr. Larry Dossey, conducted a 400-patient study in a coronary care unit. One group received traditional, state-of-the-art care. The other group received the same care with one difference: they were prayed for as well, he assigned the names to various Protestant and Catholic prayer groups throughout the country. The study was a double-blind study. Neither the patients, the doctors, nor the nurses knew who was being prayed for.

At the end of the study, the differences were remarkable. The group prayed for excelled in many ways – fewer deaths, fewer cardiac arrests, fewer requirements for mechanical respiratory support, a lesser incidence of pulmonary edema (the filling up of the lungs with fluid), and a decreased need for antibiotics.

Medical author Dr. Larry Dossey, has stated firmly that if prayer was a new pill being brought out by a drug company, it would be touted as the greatest discovery in the history of medicine.

Dossey thinks that the doctors probably should not only give out prescriptions for pills, but should also give a prescription out that instructs the patient to pray three times a day.

Doctors have pads of paper that have Rx on it. It says: “Take three times a day.” What IF there was room for a prayer or positive prayer affirmation?

Dossey reports, that we do not have to be close to the person we pray for – praying in absence, works as well as praying in person.

Prayer does not lose its strength of great distances. Rather, it does not matter about the proximity – the closeness the distance, the near or the far – of the subject – everyone is right in the middle of God’s help.

There is still so much we do not understand on this side of life. Dossey said there are things that happen in the medical field, all the time that we do not hear about. He said there was a lady who was being operated on, and she stopped breathing for a little while. She suffered a cardiac arrest. Dossey said that after she was finally revived, she accurately revealed that the chief surgeon was wearing an unmatched pair of socks (one brown and one blue). She recited the names of the surgeons who were down the hall in the surgeon’s lounge awaiting their next case. And she recited the names of the upcoming cases that were written on a board outside of the operating room as though she was standing out in the hall reading them.

Her reports were flawless, but the amazing part is she was congenitally blind; she had been blind from birth. She had never seen a single thing through her eyes, but she saw through her spirit, in ways we do not fully comprehend in human mind.

I believe the man at the pool suddenly had a new spiritual leap. I think he finally made the paradigm leap from the outer court to the inner court (if you will), from the small picture to the big picture. He went from the realization that he really did not need human help, but what he really needed to do was to help the need – directly through God.

Yes, we should work as though it all depends on us, and then pray as though it all depends on God.

So, I end this lesson by giving you a prescription –

Pray 3 times a day, “God is my present help for my every need.”

Lead congregation in speaking aloud –

God is my present help for my every need.
God is my present help for my every need.
God is my present help for my every need.

God bless you!

PRAYER / MEDITATION_________________________________________

Let us now prepare for our prayer time.

As we become still, in prayer, let us consider the ageless wisdom of our Lord’s Prayer. We set them to music; we recite them; but today, let us spiritually look behind the words.

“Our Father who art in heaven” …

Take a few moments and let your mind absorb this meaning. Receive an individual realization of what this idea means. Let this become very real to you, but so subjective that it would be nearly impossible to put into words. We are ALL children of an ALL-providing God. Let us hold onto the realization of this meaning – our ALL-provider who art in heaven which is God’s kingdom – everywhere present. It is so close, so near. All the good of the kingdom is ours. We are included.

Reflect, in the silence of prayer …

“Hallowed be Thy name” …

A name means nature – a symbol that denotes the true nature – the true nature of God. Hallowed means wholeness. Wholeness is God’s nature, and we as children of God are of like nature – whole in God.

In the silence of prayer …

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

God’s kingdom through our lives is expressed as power, wisdom, life, love, and substance. Thy will be done, for all this power is ready and is waiting to be expressed by each one of us. On earth as it is in heaven means our physical expression may be as perfect as the spiritual Source.

In the silence of prayer …

“Give us this day our daily bread” …

All potential is ours as we give thanks for our daily bread. Bread represents supply. We live in the world as connected spiritual beings, and we have supply, both materially and spiritually.

In the silence of prayer …

“Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.”

Remember, Jesus was telling His disciples and us how to pray when we go apart alone. This points to the great need for us to forgive ourselves as we forgive others. Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the prison that we have placed ourselves in. We have been both the jailer and the prisoner and it is time to let ourselves out. The consciousness-cleanser is to forgive and release the pain within us with God’s help.

In the silence of prayer …

“Leave us not in temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

Dear Lord, let us not be tempted to respond to things in our lives with anger, resentment, impatience, or fear. Let us be saved from negative wrong responses to life.

In the silence of prayer …

As we hold to these ideas, we do affirm this great benediction:

“For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever” …

This is a great benediction that ever-reminds us that God is the source of ALL good. To God belongs the praise, the honor, and the glory.

Now let us take these words into that inner closet, shut the door, and bathe in the meaning …

In the silence of prayer …

For this time alone, apart from the temptations of our world, we are indeed grateful, as we pray in the name and through the power of Jesus Christ … Amen.

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“This is the day which the Lord has made.”
Psalms 118:24

Sometimes great things sometimes come in very small packages. I visited the country of Monaco. Monte Carlo, the city that surrounds the palace of Monaco, takes up every square inch of the country which is about one square mile in size.

There are larger countries everywhere, and yet this stands up to almost any of them with a largeness of beauty, and world stature.

Located on the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by France this is probably one of the richest places in the world. I was raised middle-class, so rarely have I seen such wealth, from the yachts, to the homes. This is a gorgeous place, made especially famous by Princess Grace of Monaco in the 1950s.

I believe in taking time for oneself; you will never spiritually find yourself in work alone, not even in the ministry. Great revelations come in solitude when you least expect it. Far away from any event, I have found great revelations of God, all alone on a motorcycle, on the back country road on a VERY ordinary day.

Many people put off living until the big things in life, but a great life is made up of a cumulative single ordinary days at a time. It is how you live your ordinary small days that becomes large. How you feel today is the sum total of how you have felt in all your yesterdays.

Many put off living for huge events, like birthdays, Christmas, and retirement. But you can decide to live fully on a very ordinary day.

Decide today, to live fully today, and it will be a great investment towards a full large life. Decide to be happy in spite of, and pray to do the same.

Decide today to have a new appreciation for the very small aspects of your life, and allow the small areas of your life to accumulate in your appreciation.

Decide today to explore the little aspects of your life often overlooked and make the small – large by your attention to them.

Decide today to put the things that have been on the back burner, on the front of the stove of life.

Decide today to live small and you will discover those ingredients add up to the large recipes leading to a great life. The minute you discover happiness in the ordinary, you have discovered the extraordinary.

You do not need to be in Monte Carlo to be happy. As a matter of fact, if you are not happy where you are, you would not be happy there, because you take yourself with you.

Fullness in life is discovered in the small details, and discovering them again can become one of the great enjoyments in living.

Positive Daily Inspiration – June 28, 2023 – WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org
̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“With men this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26

Positive Christianity receives e-mails, every day, from people who tell of healings in the face of negative verdicts and diagnoses. We truly believe that, with God, ALL things are possible, and our faith is strengthened by the wonderful reports we receive daily.

When there is a need for healing in someone that you care about or love, the greatest help we can give is to believe – really believe, that healing IS possible with God. We do not limit the way of healing, because we do not limit God. We believe that healing can come in ALL ways that God directs — spiritually, through medicine, through surgery, through rehabilitation or treatment. We know that God can come through all channels or combined channels to produce health. We believe, with God, in a living-nosis!

Many times, when someone turns to Positive Christianity for prayer, in what seems to be a very serious condition, all they ask for is that we stand with them, in absolute positive faith. Everyone who prays for another person should do this – stand with that person, in absolute faith in God’s healing power. I have seen many wonderful doctors pray for their patients in this faithful way.

With God, all things are possible. Let us never forget this. Humans may see only the worst with their physical eyes. In faith, we must remind ourselves that, behind appearances, is the truth that is everlasting of God. Let God be felt through our unwavering faith when visiting our loved ones. Let us hold to God’s truth in a spirit of love and deep conviction. Let us stand firm in our belief that God is the one healing power, mighty in the midst of those for whom we pray. It does little good to voice words of prayer for another, while all the time, fearing the worst. When we do this, we are placing our faith in appearances, negative verdicts, and believe in, without doubt–the worst. It takes prayer practice to look beyond appearances to the full power of God, but when we learn to do this, our prayers take on quantum power.

Positive Christianity Healing Prayer:

As I pray for healing, I become quiet and I envision God’s radiant life touching every cell of their body with healing calm. I know that God is at work in the mind of every doctor and nurse that aids in the healing that is now taking place. I believe, without doubt, that with God, all things are possible. I know that God’s work of perfect regeneration and wholeness are at work, night and day, within their body. God’s work is complete in my loved one, making them whole, strong, and well.

In infinite calm and stillness, God reveals Divine good to them. I pray they are caught up in the wonder of God’s presence and power. I pray that they are at peace as God brings healing. I pray that their heart and mind are filled with great expectancy of wholeness. I know that only good can come to them, with God at their side, and working within their physical body and mind.

I pray that every caregiver, doctor, and nurse is filled with a spiritual experience of expectancy, as well as light and understanding. The light of God shines in their minds, making their way clear and their decisions about treatment right.

All people that visit my loved one, let go of all tension and anxiety about this loved one, realizing that God, as Creator, is working to manifest Divine health in God’s perfect creation.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o

“If you continue in my word … you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
John 8:31,32

In all of your human history, this is YOUR moment. This is your lifetime to feel the activity of God. Each of us are traveling a journey. We are not traveling alone. We are with God. But to feel God, we have to quiet our human mind down, and this is what we are here to experience now. Go quietly now.

Leave aside all worry, and have confidence. Relax and trust. So quietly, sure of God, safely, and easily, you flow into a relaxation. God is in complete control of every aspect of your life, your mind, and your body.

God is with you now. What a joyous realization this is. You listen to the still, small voice, and it says to you, “Peace, be still and know that I am God.” It says to you, “Don’t worry. I am in charge. Everything is all right. Go quietly now, and I will direct your path, for I know the way.”

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You listen to the silence of prayer, and you trust in the joyous fulfillment of your journey to God. Listen to these words from Psalms: “Then they were glad because they had quiet. And he brought them to their desired haven.” You are with God.

You have a constant companion which is Christ, your very own Lord.

You seek to realize that this Christ knows the way that lies before you. Christ is familiar with every turn in the road of your life. Christ is ever ready to point the way to lead you to your desired haven of peace, wholeness, harmony, abundance, and self-fulfillment. You are walking with God. God is working through you, empowering your physical body, thinking through your mind. You will reach your destination of this heaven, safely, quickly, and joyously.

Rest in the quiet place now, in the silence of prayer …

You are alert to the still, small voice. The still, small voice within us is telling us the way to go. As we meet the many turns, the many points of change in our life’s journey, we travel in peace with a clear-run-through to our destination, a journey where there are no stops, no delay in obstacles, or detours.

This day, whether you are starting out on a journey, whether you’re writing a letter, seeking employment, seeking to heal a relationship, or seeking the fulfillment of any other legitimate desire, you are granted, by the activity of God, a clear-run-through to joyous satisfaction, a quiet, easy way in record time.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Go quietly now. Know that you are not alone. Trust Christ. God will get you through to your destination in the best possible way. You are in an experience of a clear-run-through to each desired heaven.

Through the power of the spoken word in prayer, I decree for you: THE CHRIST PRESENCE GUIDES YOU IN THE WAY OF PEACE AND SAFETY.

YOU ARE DIVINELY PROTECTED. We thank God for always being here with us, along the road of life that never ends.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen.

POSITIVE SELF-TALK

“The upright shall dwell in thy presence.”
Psalms 140:13

Do ALL YOU CAN, and let God do the rest.

Doing all you can means not only doing all you can in your positive actions, but it also means thinking and talking to yourself in the right, positive way.

Most of us, constantly, put our abilities and ourselves down in our self-talk. Every winner that has ever won has to believe first, in positive thought and speech, that she or he is already a winner. Every loser that has ever lost believed that they were a loser first, before they lost.

God can only help you if you are willing to help yourself. You have a God-given gift of free will.

If you choose to be a loser – so be it.

If you choose to be a winner – God will come through to help you win.

How do you go from convincing yourself you are a loser, to convincing yourself that you are a winner? The answer is a whole lot of convincing, positive self-talk.

Never miss the chance to say something nice to yourself about you.

For the next 24 hours, you are not allowed to criticize yourself, once.

On the day of his entrance exams for admission to West Point, Douglas MacArthur’s nerves got the better of him. He kept saying, “I’m going to fail; there is no way I’m going to pass,” over and over again.

His mother reassured him by saying, “Doug, you’ll win if you don’t lose!”

He said, “What do you mean?”

She said, “You’ll win if you don’t lose your nerve. You must believe in yourself, my son, or no one else will believe in you. Be self-confident, self-reliant, and, even if you don’t make it, you will know you have done your best.” His mother was right. When the test scores were announced, MacArthur had passed with the highest score on the list.

MacArthur said that he talked himself through the exam. Positive self-talk can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of your life and what you believe you can accomplish.

In an experiment reported some years ago in Psychology Today Magazine, hundreds of different techniques were tried to enhance performance in a human being. Dart throwers tried everything from Zen to imagery techniques in their attempts to hit the bull’s-eye.

The results showed that positive self-talk, the same sort of verbal psyching yourself up that enabled “The Little Engine That Could” to climb the mountain induced the highest levels of “peak experience” – that spiritual sensation of effortless flow, during mental or physical tasks.

As a teenager, Whitney Houston cultivated her singing talents under the watchful eye of her mother, Cissy, who was the founder of the 1960s group The Sweet Inspirations. “I remember when I was 17, I was getting ready for the show Mom and I were doing that night,” Whitney said, “she called, sounding hoarse and said, ‘ my voice! I can’t sing!’ I said,’ forget it! I can’t go out alone!’ She said, ‘Of course you can – you are good, just tell yourself how good you are over and over again until your soul believes it.'”

Whitney talked to herself, positively, the whole night, telling herself that she could do this, and she did just fine.

When she called her mother later, she discovered the whole thing had been a set-up. Her mother said to her that Whitney had wanted to do this for a longtime but was to frozen in fear to go “solo.”

We talk to ourselves all the time; we say the worst things about ourselves to ourselves, and the problem is we believe it. We all want a better self-image, and we can have it if we are willing to self-talk to ourselves in a new POSITIVE way. We are God’s creation, children of God. It is an absolute mistake to disbelieve in God’s creation, and the God-given gifts that you are endowed with. Be endowed, NOT in doubt.

If you believe in God then you have to believe in God’s creation. But often it takes practice.

For the next 24 hours I want you to constantly self-talk yourself in positive ways. If this feels funny, or even stupid, allow that to be a gauge of how badly you need to do this. Positive talk should not seem foreign to you and if it does, it just means that you have spent much of your self-talking in a negative way. Positive self-talk is a learned habit that must be learned if you are to have all that you want out of your life.

Tell yourself how much ability you have. Tell yourself how much you can accomplish. Tell yourself that you are good-looking enough and smart enough and talented enough and creative enough. You are never left alone and God’s work is never finished in you and through you. You and God have great things to accomplish. But you must believe in yourself enough to enable yourself to be a vehicle of that God-accomplishment in your life. God has been waiting patiently for you to come around, and you are now saying “Yes God, I am up to the task. I am ready and willing, right now.”
