TECH SUPPORT

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from boyfriend to husband and noticed a distinct slowdown in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under boyfriend.

In addition, husband uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance and Personal Attention and then installed undesirable programs such as Football, Golfing and Continuous TV. Conversation no longer runs, and Housecleaning simply crashes the system. I’ve tried running Nagging to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed, Desperate

____

Dear Desperate,

First keep in mind, boyfriend is an Entertainment Package, while husband is an Operating System. Please enter the command: ‘http: I Thought You Loved Me.html’ and try to download Tears. Don’t forget to install the Guilt update. If that application works as designed, husband should then automatically run the applications Jewelry and Flowers, but remember … over-use of the above application can cause husband to default to Grumpy Silence, Garden Shed or Man Cave.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources). Also, do not attempt to reinstall the boyfriend program. These are unsupported applications and will crash husband.

In summary, husband is a great system, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. It also tends to work better running one task at a time. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Rich Food and Compliments.

Good Luck,

Tech Support

MISSING WIFE!

Husband: My wife is missing. She went shopping yesterday and has not come home.

Sheriff: What is her height?

Husband: Gee, I’m not sure. A little over five-feet tall.

Sheriff: Weight?

Husband: Don’t know. Not slim, not really fat.

Sheriff: Color of eyes?

Husband: Sort of brown I think. Never really noticed.

Sheriff: Color of hair?

Husband: Changes a couple times a year. Maybe dark brown now. I can’t remember.

Sheriff: What was she wearing?

Husband: Could have been pants, or maybe a skirt or shorts. I don’t know exactly.

Sheriff: What kind of car did she go in?

Husband: She went in my truck.

Sheriff: What kind of truck was it?

Husband: A 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch 4X4 with eco-boost 5.0L V8 engine special ordered with manual transmission and climate controlled air conditioning. It has a custom matching white cover for the bed, which has a matching aftermarket bed liner. Custom leather 6-way seats and “Bubba” floor mats. Trailering package with gold hitch and special wiring hook-ups. DVD with full GPS navigation, satellite radio receiver, 23-channel CB radio, six cup holders, a USB port, and four power outlets. I added special alloy wheels and off-road Michelins. It has custom running boards and indirect wheel well lighting.

At this point the husband started choking up.

Sheriff: Take it easy, we’ll find your truck.

WHO TOOK YOUR PLACE?

One day, a man went to visit a church. He arrived early, parked his car, and got out. Another car pulled up near him, and the driver told him, “I always park there. You took my place!”

The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat, and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, “That’s my seat! You took my lace!” The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.

After Sunday School, the visitor went into the church sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, “That’s where I always sit. You took my place!” The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still said nothing.

Later, as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled-feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, “What happened to you?”

The visitor replied, “I took your place.”

14 LOVE GUIDELINES

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won’t make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can’t have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don’t waste your time on a man/woman, who isn’t willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There’s always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don’t try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

14. People don’t fall in love with you, they fall in love with the way THEY FEEL when they are with you.

Positive Daily Inspiration – July 7, 2023 – Prayer for Perfect Employment

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 7, 2023
Prayer for Perfect Employment

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap … yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Matthew 6:26

If you are seeking employment, or advancement where you are. If you know someone that is – forward this to them.

Pray this prayer aloud, AND BELIEVE! –

I realize in this Holy moment of time that God is my source of all good. The storehouses of my good never run empty. I have faith that a storehouse of good is available to me NOW! I believe that, with God, my needs are bountifully met. The ever-present love of God surrounds me. I believe that I have great value because God will work through me. I keep my mind centered on employment success. If a thought of limitation comes to my mind, I agree to immediately replace it with a God vision of good employment awaiting my acceptance.

God supplies me with ideas that bring forth good in a variety of new ways. I give thanks RIGHT NOW for Divine ideas and I implement them immediately. I rest on the realization that doors are opening to me right now. I have a choice of perfect employment and through God’s guidance, I choose correctly.

I am not limited to my past. I rest in the realization that good is being demonstrated in all areas of my life. I am open to greater achievement than ever before achieved. I open my mind to prosperity. I am ready and willing to accept promotions and raises. God will equip me with the wisdom I need to achieve at a higher level of the employment than I have experienced thus far.

I am an active conductor of God’s good. I believe in my abilities because they are God-given continuously. I am a blessing to every employer and company. People perceive me as giving more than I receive. I am a light of positive thought and action in the workplace. My mind is empowered by God-Mind. Nothing is impossible to me.

Every résumé and application that I send forth is anointed with the Divine vibratory presence to attract good to it. My applications are impossible to overlook. Everything written about me will be positive.

God is with me as I interview. God speaks through me and surrounds my very presence with the attracting power of the Divine. I am blest and I am a blessing, now, and in the future.

I am entering a time of the harvest. I accept my God-given good of perfect employment right now. I agree to enlarge my territory, and my mind, about what is possible in my own employment life. I consent to accepting the very highest and best. I consent to accepting the good of God, and I am open to new locations of service and new avenues of employment. I am not stuck or stayed in the past, career field or geographical location. I am willing to reinvent myself and do what is best for my future and continuous, ever-expanding, financial prosperity. I am ready and willing to live a stress-free, prosperous, good life through active service that God provides. In so consenting, I agree to let go of limiting thoughts of personal self-worth. I do not devalue myself because I realize that God loves me and wants me to succeed in wondrous ways. I need God, and I realize God needs me too.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – July 6, 2023 – LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“Let not your heart be troubled.”
John 14:1

Dear God I come to You for strength – strength of body, strength of mind and strength of soul. I feel the infilling of Your Spirit. I feel the assurance of Your upholding presence. Thank You, God, for strength.

Dear God I come to You for wisdom – wisdom to know what I should do, wisdom to choose the course that means growth and understanding. Thank You, God, for wisdom.

Dear God I come to You for courage – courage to face every experience, courage to stand strong and firm in the midst of situations that require much of me. Thank You, God, for courage.

Dear God I come to You for serenity – serenity of heart, serenity of spirit. Bless me with Your untroubled Spirit of peace. I feel Your calming touch upon my heart, I feel Your love enfolding me. Thank You, God, for serenity.

Dear God I come to You for faith – faith that looks beyond the appearances and sees only life, only the endless movement of good. Thank You, God, for faith.

We never pray for anything that we are not willing to become. With that in mind we continue our prayer –

God is life. I am one with the life of God. The life of God flows freely and unobstructedly through every atom and cell of my being. I am whole, strong, and radiantly alive with the life that gave me life — the life of God.

God is light. I am one with the light of God. The light of God shines brightly within me because I consent to it coming through. This light guides and directs me in all that I do, and God shows me my way and my way is made plain. In First John 1:5 the truth is spoken, “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.”

God is peace. I am peaceful. I am one with the peace of God in mind and body. The peace of God fills my heart, mind and soul. I am relaxed and at peace.

God is joy. I am joyful. I am one with the joy of God. My life is a glow with an inner joy, the joy of which Jesus spoke when He said, “that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” I am filled with the joy of living.

God is love. I am loving. I am one with the love of God. The Bible says that all love is from God and the all-providing love of God flows throughout my entire being and throughout every relationship in my life. I give and I accept love freely.

Positive Daily Inspiration – July 5, 2023 – ~GOD IS WAITING TO HELP~

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 5, 2023
~GOD IS WAITING TO HELP~

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

~GOD IS WAITING TO HELP~

“We have the mind of Christ.”
1 Corinthians 2:16

So often, we hear people say, “If only the answer would come to me, clearly, then I would know what to do.” Right answers come, simply and perfectly, if you will let them. There are some easy steps to follow that I am going to share with you, today.

Stop, Ask, Believe, Listen, Follow

1) STOP worry thought. Relax and let go to God.

When you relax and let go, you make way for the answer God has for you.

2) ASK God for specific help.

When you stop struggling and trying so hard and begin to listen, within the silence of prayer, you are taught by God, directly. God reveals to you what to do and how to do it. Be patient, and the answer will come.

Often I suggest sleeping on it. This is an action that helps stop worry, and promotes relaxing and letting go.

3) BELIEVE that God is helping you.

Jesus says, “When you pray, believe that you have already received.” The only way that God can give something to you, is through you. You must take possession in your faith to receive the manifestation, the guidance, and the answer.

4) LISTEN within to the voice of intuition, to what seems right and best.

Usually, when we pray, we do all the talking. Usually, we define, in great detail, in our prayers, what we are worried about. Our prayers often become vocal recitations of our fears and worries. When we stop talking, relax, wait, and listen to God we find the answers and solutions that we are seeking.

5) FOLLOW, trusting in God to harmonize, to heal, and to bless all things.

The answers we receive will often be quite different than the thoughts that we have had in our own human mind. We might have a tendency to argue with the answers we receive. When we follow God, we are led, successfully, through the maze of life to a victorious conclusion.

Your mind can become a storehouse for productive ideas from God. You are able to remember what you need to remember, and to let go all that is trivial and meaningless. Your mind, centered in God, becomes the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ, in you, has creativeness, imagination, and power to accomplish all things.

You trust the mind of Christ, in you, to bring clarity to your thoughts. You trust the mind of Christ, in you, to enable you to express sound and true ideas so you can do your part in making this a better world.

Your mind is a healthy mind. Your mind is practical, poised, and peaceful. The mind of Christ, in you, enables you to see through appearances to solutions. The mind of Christ, in you, helps you to understand the gifts bestowed on you by God. The mind of Christ, in you, gives you spiritual discernment.

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 4, 2023
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. God maketh me to lie down in green pastures: God leadeth me beside the still waters. God restoreth my soul: God leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
Psalm 23

As I write this Positive Daily Inspiration I am looking at the flag of the United States. One nation, under God is what I think about when I see the great symbol of freedom.

America’s flag is a symbol of people seeking religious freedoms. It represents a land in which people can worship whenever and wherever they choose. It is representative of possibilities instead of oppression, opportunities instead of bondage. We are strong as a people because of our religious freedoms and independent thought.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Matthew 19:26: “With God all things are possible.” Through God’s eyes, all we see are possibilities and opportunities. I believe that God has led this country to its greatness.

The colors our forefathers chose for our flag have great meaning. Red, white, and blue represents the qualities of courage, purity and valor.

Courage is seen when humans know that God is with them, always, and is greater than any problem they may encounter. People in this great land have stood up to overwhelming adversity because they knew that God stood with them.

Purity, especially purity of thought, is the hallmark of every American. It is our mission in spirituality to have that same mind that was in Christ Jesus.

Valor is strength of character. This is something people naturally express when they allow God to flow through them.

The thirteen stripes of the flag represent the original colonies of the “New World,” each populated by people committed to a better way of life.

The thirteen colonies bring to mind twelve spiritual gifts given by God working within the one human mind, which totally consents to a higher, spiritual way of thinking. There are many more than twelve God-given gifts, but these mentioned can form a solid Christian life: Faith, love, strength, judgment, imagination, spiritual understanding, spiritual power, zeal and enthusiasm, Divine order, spiritual wisdom, life itself, and the ability to eliminate what you no longer want to be a part of your life.

The fifty stars represent the fifty different states which make up our great country and the people living in each state who turn to a God of total possibilities in times of trouble. This message will be received by people in each of those fifty states of our beloved nation.

People connect with us often, and we like to connect with them. We meet, heart-to-heart, through the Internet. We can do so because, in prayer, there are no time or space limitations. When we pray with each other, we know that we are instantly connected in God. When I see the American flag, I smile because I am reminded that I am in a country that allows such a ministry as ours to exist, I am also reminded of all the joyous connections I have made over the years.

The American flag symbolizes the Divine concept of one nation under God with the government for and by the people. The United States of America is under God’s direction and is here for and by the people. The greatness of our country has always been the sum total of the individuals contained within it. An average citizen becomes extraordinary when guided by God. It matters little what church we worship in. Religions are like spokes on the wheel leading to the one hub — God.

I am very proud of our country and I’m equally proud of its people. I am optimistic about both.

Positive Christianity is to prayer, what Washington D.C. is to America. Positive Christianity is a world capital of prayer. It is a spiritual melting pot where people of all different religions come together, just as in America. There are many different religions practiced by the people of the United States, each one with great validity, and we pray with people in each one.

As Americans, let us pause and pray, together, now:

“May each person always have the freedom to find and to explore the depths of God. May each person feel free to follow the guidance that God gives so plainly to those who listen. May this country always be a safe haven for those who are spiritually hungry. May each church always provide an open gate, a welcome in mind and heart, and a clear path to God, free of obstacles and obstructions.

May we, in America, remember the courage of our forefathers and foremothers, who came to a new land, oftentimes with nothing but faith in God. Everyone who arrived in the United States at Ellis Island had great spiritual hope packed with their personal belongings. May we, today, as Christians, join together to be the Ellis island of tomorrow’s people wanting to immigrate from living under oppressive circumstances, to the freedom of living as fully empowered children of God.

May the United States of America always be guided and directed by God and may we be the promised land, providing guidance and direction to people that are praying for a new way of life.

Dear God, we know that religion means “way of life,” and America is the best place to practice our individual faith.

As the United States is the leader of free world governments, we are also the leader of the free world of religion. May the prayers of our forefathers, for each person to be able to pray in his or her own way, be answered everyday in this oasis of world faith.

May this country always be spread out peacefully under the majestic flag. I give thanks that I live in a country where all this, and more, is possible.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen”

When you drive through the spiritual haven called the United States of America, and you see the flag waving high, remember all that the flag represents, and pledge your allegiance as a citizen of this great land, one nation, under God.

Happy 4th of July! God Bless America!

Positive Daily Inspiration – July 3, 2023 – ~Summer Prayer~

Positive Daily Inspiration - July 3, 2023

~Summer Prayer~

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“This is the (SUMMER) which The Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalms 118:24 (modified)

Let us pray,

Dear God, I pray for a perfect Summer to give me, and those that are with me, total rest and renewal at depth. I pray that our souls are completely renewed and recharged. I pray for Divine order in the planning and in the moment-to-moment activities of our Summer.

God, I pray that You will provide more than adequate funds to provide for our every need. I pray that you will take away from my mind any guilt that I have about resting and playing. I pray that I myself, and all those going with me, will discover more than we planned for, of pure positive good. I pray in advance for serendipity — the unexpected surprise and joy of daily miracles that will make this Summer the best of our lives.

Dear God, we pray for perfect safety as we travel. Surround the car that we will travel in, and fill its mechanical parts with Your Divine presence of perfect order and harmonious working.

I dwell in peace this Summer because God is going ahead of me and my family to prepare the way of good.

I pray for upgrades. I pray that my rental cars are upgraded. I pray that my hotel rooms are upgraded. I pray that my seats on planes and trains are upgraded. I pray that my cruise cabins are upgraded. I go forth anticipating positive surprise.

I have no anxiety about my travels wherever I go, because God is there. God provides for my every need. God, I pray that You will provide for me exactly what I need to fully restore my mind, body, and soul. I may not be aware of my total needs, but I know that You are, and I ask You to help me in planning my trip and the day-to-day journey through it.

I know that You are also present back home protecting my home and my business, as I go forth on my adventure. I know that I will not be missed, because You are helping me to take care of the tasks left behind. I give myself a gift of having a wonderful Summer, and therefore I do not carry worries along with my luggage. I choose to unpack all my cares, worries, and anxieties, right now. This Summer is an opportunity for me to truly let go and let God!.

I pray that I am reminded of You every day of Summer, in the beauty that I see in nature and in the sunsets. I pray that I’m reminded of You with every surprise that comes by way of serendipity.

I give thanks for my ability to travel and for my health and vitality that will be ever-present in my journey.

Thank You, God, in advance for THE BEST Summer and renewal of my life!

In Jesus Christ name … Amen

(Submitted with our great thanks)

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17

As long as Jeremy could remember, he had wanted a dog. For his eleventh birthday, his parents gave him a large box that wiggled and yapped.

“A dog! I know it’s a dog!”

Jeremy hurriedly opened the loosely wrapped container and out tumbled a wagging, licking cocker spaniel whose tail was flipping from side to side so quickly that its whole rump seemed to jump from the floor.

“Is it a boy or a girl?” Jeremy asked, as the puppy tried to climb into his lap, lick his face and chew the box all at the same time.

“It’s a girl.”

“She’s beautiful! Her color reminds me of the sand on a beach. I’m going to call her Sandy.”

One of their favorite times together was when Jeremy would ride his bike in the park with Sandy running alongside. She would stop, sniff, toss her floppy ears and then zoom ahead of Jeremy. She would then wait for him to catch up and then zoom off again. She just thought this was the greatest game. When Jeremy stopped and got off his bike, she would then run up to him, barking happily and then sit looking at him with her tongue hanging out. Sandy always looked so silly Jeremy would have to laugh. She then would tumble into his lap proudly as if she had just told a very funny joke.

A year went by. That summer, at the end of a busy day swimming at the beach, Jeremy complained to his mother that he had a headache and stiff neck. The next morning, Jeremy was worse. He could not get out of bed. When the doctor was called, the stiffness had gotten so bad he could hardly move.

“I’m afraid Jeremy has polio,” the doctor said.

Jeremy spent three months in the hospital. When he finally came home, he had a brace on one of his legs and needed crutches to walk. Sandy was so happy to see him, she refused to leave his side.

“Every time Sandy saw someone ride by on a bike, she would bark and run back and forth in the yard, then she would whine and whine,” his father told Jeremy.

“Well, I can never ride a bike now,” Jeremy half whispered.

The next morning, Jeremy limped out to the garage with his crutches to look at his Schwinn-Flyer, all red and chrome and shiny. Sandy immediately began to jump and yap and wag her tail.

“No, I can’t Sandy. I can’t,” Jeremy cried. Sandy just whined. She did not understand.

Every day after that, Sandy would run out to the garage and back to Jeremy, barking and wagging her tail.

Sandy did not understand the word “can’t.”

Finally, Jeremy said, “Okay, okay, Sandy, but my leg is so weak.”

As Jeremy climbed on the bike, Sandy barked happily, ran furiously around the bicycle and wagged her tail like a fan. Jeremy started to ride, then suddenly fell! He started to cry, and immediately Sandy ran up to him where he lay sprawled on the ground and started to lick his face. His crying turned to laughing because Sandy’s tongue tickled him.

“Okay, I’ll try again!” The second time, he fell again but not as hard. The third and fourth time, he fell and started to laugh.

“Sandy, now I’m getting mad!”

Finally, after a number of tries, he did not fall.

Sandy sat on the ground and if she could talk, she would probably have said, “I knew you could do it.”

It was a slow process but after three months Jeremy was slowly riding his bicycle again. After another four months he was walking with a cane and no brace on his leg.

Sandy never knew that she was one of the main reasons that today Jeremy is a normal grown-up who does not even limp. She was only a dog and did not understand.

Or did she?

Dear God, I pray that I know that mighty currents of God’s love are flowing through me.
I make it securely through my day because I am immersed in Your love.
I leave behind me all traces of chilling doubt or bleak discouragement because I am newly awakened to the potential of Your perfect love coming through me.
Dreams, once frozen in winter apathy, are now bursting into bloom as creative love activity and love achievement. I respond to life and the people in my life with the warmth of heart that You have given me. Today is my day to love and today is a new beginning of accepting love.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

Positive Daily Inspiration – June 30, 2023 – ~GOD’S GOOD JUSTICE~

Positive Daily Inspiration - June 30, 2023
~GOD'S GOOD JUSTICE~

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org
̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“Hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.”
Hosea 12:6

Know today that God’s law of love and justice works for all, and because of this, your heart is optimistic and faith-filled.

Some persons seem to operate on two different codes of justice. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is often the code when they are dealing with others. However, they feel that others should be willing to go the second mile in their dealings with them. Often it is easy to see and understand why certain experiences come to others, but when they happen to us, we feel unjustly treated.

God’s justice is based on universal law and plays no favorites, yet it is tempered by love and mercy. We tune in to God’s justice through prayer. Keeping our thoughts and feelings stayed on the idea of Divine law, we open our lives to the fullness of God’s justice.

Attuned to God’s law of love and justice, we never begrudge another a blessing that we may have desired for ourselves. We know that no honest effort is ever wasted and that something as good or better is in store for us.

When we think about justice, often we associate it with some human judgment. God’s justice is not limited to opinions or conclusions, for God’s justice is our loving provision of good from God.

God’s justice is a constant, unfailing presence in our lives. Even in the midst of apparent injustice, you do not have to give in to feelings of worry or concern. Rather, pause for a moment and affirm in prayer, “God’s justice.”

As you do this, you work in perfect harmony with God’s justice. Justice is established, and you cooperate with the perfect outworking of every situation. You release every thought of injustice and therefore, bless every situation in which you are involved through faith in God. You give thanks that God’s justice prevails in every situation and that the highest good of all is assured.

As it says in Romans 8:28, “We know that in everything God works for good with those who love God.”

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, help me to be a person that shows justice to all.
Help me to be a person of fairness and compassion.
Thank You God.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

God’s love within me is mighty to fulfill every need of mine with perfection beyond even what I can currently imagine.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE:

“Try not to become a man of success but a man of value.”
Albert Einstein

There is an old story of three blind men, who were arguing over exactly what an elephant might be. One of the men was up front, holding onto the elephant’s trunk. He said to the others, “An elephant is a long, round, muscular animal.”

The second blind man was standing alongside the elephant. He felt the tremendous mass on the side and he said, “Absolutely absurd. Elephants are vast beyond comprehension.”

The third blind man was standing behind the elephant, holding onto the elephant’s tail. He said, “You fools, don’t you know that an elephant is a small, tough, and hairy animal?”

They could not resolve their argument because they continued to hold to their individual points of focus. A fourth man was sitting nearby with his eyes closed. They asked this man what an elephant was. The man, without even opening his eyes, said: “It is simply the idea of an elephant that I carry in my mind.”

If we go to our dictionary, quantum, as it is used in the “quantum theory,” means an elemental unit. But in the new physics of the day, we most often hear it referred to as a “quantum leap.” A quantum leap is that which is a sudden, and extensive change, or advance.

This is a leap year, with God it can be a time for us to make a quantum leap in our lives.

A paradigm is a pattern, an example, or a model. I like to think of it as a mental spiritual map. Maybe we are not always aware of it, but we do have mental spiritual maps. It is through these maps that we map our way through all of the sudden challenges of our lives. We particularly refer to those maps a great deal when some sort of challenge comes along. Persons and organizations have a stamp of identity, that they use as a path or a map, whether it has worked in the past or not.

In the fifth chapter of John [John 5:2-14] the Bible tells us of the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda.

Now in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate there is a pool, called in Hebrew Bethesda, which has five porticoes. In these lay many invalids – blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.

Often this is talked about as the healing story in the Bible of a lame man. But the Bible did not say he was lame. The Bible says he was ill.

When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am making my way, someone else steps down ahead of me.”

For thirty-eight years, he has been lying beside this pool, waiting for the waters to be stirred up, perhaps by the wind, or the current, and it was believed within this short period of time that if you could make your way to the water this would heal you. But there were always people in front of him. He could not make it in time, so he laid there on his mat , Since 1999, .

He said that there was nobody there to help him. This man had quite an attitude of giving up.

Jesus said to him, “Stand up, take your mat, and walk.” At once, the man was made well, and he took up his mat and began to walk.

Now that day was the Sabbath. So, the Jews said to the man who had been cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.” Here is a man who has been ill for thirty-eight years. Now he is walking away with his mat, and they are saying – he cannot do that.

If we look at it in a spiritual way, which is spiritually enlightened? Is it the touch of God and the miracle, or the human ordinances and practices to try to induce spirituality? Something comes to us and we immediately want to know if it is legitimate, direct. We even question the fact that perhaps we feel much better and we have gone through what might be a healing.

But he answered them, “The man who made me well said to me, “Take up your mat and walk.” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take it up and walk?'” The man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared into the crowd. In the minds of the questioners these men were sinning because they were not following the ordinance of God, however it was God that did the actual healing and what better day for God’s actions than on the Sabbath.

This is the part of the story that is usually left out, or is at least skimmed over and nothing is really made of it. It goes on to say: Later, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well! Do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.” He is teaching spiritual cause and effect not the punishment of God.

The symbol of this temple is the enduring temple built in the understanding of God.

All of a sudden, it says that this man who did not even know who Jesus was, who did not even know what Presence was actually healing him, really had no identification with the spiritual whatsoever, but he was NOW in the temple.

The temple had an outer court and an inner court. The outer court is where the Gentiles – the people who had not committed themselves to the laws of God as the Jewish tradition (as the very tradition that brought us our Judeo-Christian heritage) – stayed. It was thought that people who wanted to be near to God would be in the inner court, but the Gentiles were on the outside.

The inner court was quite different. You had to be a Jew who had committed yourself to the law, had gone through rituals, and had purified yourself to be allowed into the inner court. The story does not tell us whether the man was in the inner or outer court, but I choose to believe that he must have been in the inner court, because this is where the realization comes.

(Insert the following if the meditation and prayer was before the sermon)

We prayed that we enter into the inner court, this morning when we were in prayer and meditation. At the end of the meditation, I suggested we go into our closet. That is the inner court, or that which has access to the holy of holies – the whole presence of God.

Lindsay Ferrigo tells us about his ideas of grace versus works. He says it this way: “We should work as though it all depends on us, and we should pray as though it all depends on God.”

You see, there is a little of a dichotomy in some people when they start to pray. They pray as though it all depends on them, and then they go out and blame all the mistakes on God. It is just a little backwards.

Medical doctor, and author, Dr. Larry Dossey, conducted a 400-patient study in a coronary care unit. One group received traditional, state-of-the-art care. The other group received the same care with one difference: they were prayed for as well, he assigned the names to various Protestant and Catholic prayer groups throughout the country. The study was a double-blind study. Neither the patients, the doctors, nor the nurses knew who was being prayed for.

At the end of the study, the differences were remarkable. The group prayed for excelled in many ways – fewer deaths, fewer cardiac arrests, fewer requirements for mechanical respiratory support, a lesser incidence of pulmonary edema (the filling up of the lungs with fluid), and a decreased need for antibiotics.

Medical author Dr. Larry Dossey, has stated firmly that if prayer was a new pill being brought out by a drug company, it would be touted as the greatest discovery in the history of medicine.

Dossey thinks that the doctors probably should not only give out prescriptions for pills, but should also give a prescription out that instructs the patient to pray three times a day.

Doctors have pads of paper that have Rx on it. It says: “Take three times a day.” What IF there was room for a prayer or positive prayer affirmation?

Dossey reports, that we do not have to be close to the person we pray for – praying in absence, works as well as praying in person.

Prayer does not lose its strength of great distances. Rather, it does not matter about the proximity – the closeness the distance, the near or the far – of the subject – everyone is right in the middle of God’s help.

There is still so much we do not understand on this side of life. Dossey said there are things that happen in the medical field, all the time that we do not hear about. He said there was a lady who was being operated on, and she stopped breathing for a little while. She suffered a cardiac arrest. Dossey said that after she was finally revived, she accurately revealed that the chief surgeon was wearing an unmatched pair of socks (one brown and one blue). She recited the names of the surgeons who were down the hall in the surgeon’s lounge awaiting their next case. And she recited the names of the upcoming cases that were written on a board outside of the operating room as though she was standing out in the hall reading them.

Her reports were flawless, but the amazing part is she was congenitally blind; she had been blind from birth. She had never seen a single thing through her eyes, but she saw through her spirit, in ways we do not fully comprehend in human mind.

I believe the man at the pool suddenly had a new spiritual leap. I think he finally made the paradigm leap from the outer court to the inner court (if you will), from the small picture to the big picture. He went from the realization that he really did not need human help, but what he really needed to do was to help the need – directly through God.

Yes, we should work as though it all depends on us, and then pray as though it all depends on God.

So, I end this lesson by giving you a prescription –

Pray 3 times a day, “God is my present help for my every need.”

Lead congregation in speaking aloud –

God is my present help for my every need.
God is my present help for my every need.
God is my present help for my every need.

God bless you!

PRAYER / MEDITATION_________________________________________

Let us now prepare for our prayer time.

As we become still, in prayer, let us consider the ageless wisdom of our Lord’s Prayer. We set them to music; we recite them; but today, let us spiritually look behind the words.

“Our Father who art in heaven” …

Take a few moments and let your mind absorb this meaning. Receive an individual realization of what this idea means. Let this become very real to you, but so subjective that it would be nearly impossible to put into words. We are ALL children of an ALL-providing God. Let us hold onto the realization of this meaning – our ALL-provider who art in heaven which is God’s kingdom – everywhere present. It is so close, so near. All the good of the kingdom is ours. We are included.

Reflect, in the silence of prayer …

“Hallowed be Thy name” …

A name means nature – a symbol that denotes the true nature – the true nature of God. Hallowed means wholeness. Wholeness is God’s nature, and we as children of God are of like nature – whole in God.

In the silence of prayer …

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

God’s kingdom through our lives is expressed as power, wisdom, life, love, and substance. Thy will be done, for all this power is ready and is waiting to be expressed by each one of us. On earth as it is in heaven means our physical expression may be as perfect as the spiritual Source.

In the silence of prayer …

“Give us this day our daily bread” …

All potential is ours as we give thanks for our daily bread. Bread represents supply. We live in the world as connected spiritual beings, and we have supply, both materially and spiritually.

In the silence of prayer …

“Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.”

Remember, Jesus was telling His disciples and us how to pray when we go apart alone. This points to the great need for us to forgive ourselves as we forgive others. Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the prison that we have placed ourselves in. We have been both the jailer and the prisoner and it is time to let ourselves out. The consciousness-cleanser is to forgive and release the pain within us with God’s help.

In the silence of prayer …

“Leave us not in temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

Dear Lord, let us not be tempted to respond to things in our lives with anger, resentment, impatience, or fear. Let us be saved from negative wrong responses to life.

In the silence of prayer …

As we hold to these ideas, we do affirm this great benediction:

“For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever” …

This is a great benediction that ever-reminds us that God is the source of ALL good. To God belongs the praise, the honor, and the glory.

Now let us take these words into that inner closet, shut the door, and bathe in the meaning …

In the silence of prayer …

For this time alone, apart from the temptations of our world, we are indeed grateful, as we pray in the name and through the power of Jesus Christ … Amen.
