NEW DOORS ARE OPENING NOW!

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“They … were praying and singing hymns to God … and immediately all the doors were OPENED.”
Acts 16:23-26

The door of opportunity is opening to you NOW. Wherever you are, God constantly showers you with blessings. Whatever your place or age, the flow of good into your life IS CERTAIN because God is certainly with you. Never can you be separated from God and the ceaseless flow of God’s direct blessings. Unlimited good that God, lovingly, pours out upon you is available to you NOW.

You see the open doors of God’s goodness flowing into your life, bringing with it new, rich, wonderful experiences. You remember that you are a child of God. You remember that God is your parent and that it is God’s good pleasure to hold you in the nearness of God’s presence. You remind yourself often that, as God’s child, you are heir to the riches of the kingdom. You know that the law of the kingdom is the law of good. You are heir to ALL GOOD coming to you, directly, from God. You are in tune with the limitless inflow and outflow of God’s good.

When you are concerned about the outcome of some situation, God will open the door to the solution. When you are disturbed by another person’s attitude or actions, God will open the door to peace of mind, as you remember your oneness with God. You go to God, first; you turn the whole matter over to God because you are heir to the solution. You are heir to the answer to your problems. You are heir to peace of mind.

You may not be able to see how some problem will be solved, how good will come out of some circumstances, how any benefit is to be gained from the pursuance of some course that seems unwise to you. It is not necessary that you see the whole picture. It is important only that you hold fast to your faith in God, and in God’s good purposes. You are heir to guidance. God will guide and motivate you in and through all experiences.

You can be calm and trusting in God. God will free you from all anxiety and fear. Knowing God is at work is an open door to an overcoming victory. God’s power for good is present in all persons and all situations. God can adjust, in Divine order, the worst situation to bring about the best good.

I am praying, today, that everyone who reads this has an open door of God’s good available to him or her.

I pray that God ahead of you, leading you in straight paths filled with abundance and overflowing plenty.

You love God, the evidence of which is your faithful reading of Positive Daily Inspiration.

I claim the truth for you of Romans 8:28, “In everything, God works for good with those who love God.”

“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy.”
Psalms 126:2

For all those that have pets, I share this week’s Sunday Funnies:

If I Didn’t Have a Dog … or Cat … ..

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.

My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.

All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.

When the doorbell rings, it wouldn’t sound like a kennel.

When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.

I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.

I would have money, and no guilt to go on a real vacation.

I would not be on a first-name basis with 6 veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grandkids through college.

The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave it ALONE.

My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.

I would not talk ‘baby talk’. ‘Eat your din din’. ‘Yummy yummy for the tummy’..

My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere.

My pockets would not contain things like plastic bags for animal droppings, treats and an extra leash.

I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L, W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T, O-U-T, G-O, R-I-D-E, C-O-O-K-I-E

I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.

I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much.

I’d look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading ‘mud’ season.

I would not have to answer the question ‘Why do you have so many animals?’ from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get.

How EMPTY my life would be!!!

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I thank You for Your gift of my pets.
Thank You for the blessings that pets bring to my life.
Bless my animals with health and happiness.
Help them to feel Your love, because there is no way that I can give back as much love as they give me.

Thank You God!

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

God’s joy blesses me and everyone in my world.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE:

“The power of imagination makes us infinite.”

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

(Submitted with our great thanks)

“For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light.”
Ephesians 5:8

At the prodding of my friends, I am writing this story. My name is Mildred Hondorf. I am a former elementary school music teacher from Des Moines, Iowa. I’ve always supplemented my income by teaching piano lessons – something I’ve done , Since 1999, . Over the years, I found that children have many levels of musical ability. I’ve never had the pleasure of having a prodigy, though I have taught some talented students.

However, I’ve also had my share of what I call “musically challenged” pupils. One such student was Robby. Robby was 11 years old when his mother (a single Mom) dropped him off for his first piano lesson. I prefer that students (especially boys!) begin at an earlier age, which I explained to Robby.

But Robby said that it had always been his mother’s dream to hear him play the piano. So I took him as a student. Well, Robby began with his piano lessons, and from the beginning I thought it was a hopeless endeavor.

As much as Robby tried, he lacked the sense of tone and basic rhythm needed to excel. But he dutifully reviewed his scales and some elementary pieces that I require all my students to learn.

Over the months, he tried and tried, while I listened and cringed and tried to encourage him. At the end of each weekly lesson, he’d always say, “My mom’s going to hear me play someday.” But it seemed hopeless. He just did not have any inborn ability. I only knew his mother from a distance as she dropped Robby off or waited in her aged car to pick him up. She always waved and smiled but never stopped in. Then one day, Robby stopped coming to our lessons.

I thought about calling him but assumed because of his lack of ability, that he had decided to pursue something else. I also was glad that he stopped coming. He was a bad advertisement for my teaching!

Several weeks later, I mailed to the student’s homes a flyer on the upcoming recital. To my surprise, Robby (who received a flyer) asked me if he could be in the recital. I told him that the recital was for current pupils and because he had dropped out he really did not qualify. He said that his mother had been sick and unable to take him to piano lessons but he was still practicing. “Miss Hondorf … I’ve just got to play!” he insisted.

I don’t know what led me to allow him to play in the recital. Maybe it was his persistence or maybe it was something inside of me saying that it would be all right. The night for the recital came. The high school gymnasium was packed with parents, friends, and relatives. I put Robby up last in the program before I was to come up and thank all the students and play a finishing piece. I thought that any damage he would do would come at the end of the program and I could always salvage his poor performance through my “curtain closer.”

Well, the recital went off without a hitch. The students had been practicing and it showed. Then Robby came up on stage. His clothes were wrinkled and his hair looked like he’d run an eggbeater through it. “Why didn’t he dress up like the other students?” I thought. “Why didn’t his mother at least make him comb his hair for this special night?”

Robby pulled out the piano bench and he began. I was surprised when he announced that he had chosen Mozart’s Concerto #21 in C Major. I was not prepared for what I heard next. His fingers were light on the keys; they even danced nimbly on the ivories. He went from pianissimo to fortissimo, from allegro to virtuoso. His suspended chords that Mozart demands were … Magnificent! Never had I heard Mozart played so well by people his age. After six and a half minutes, he ended in a grand crescendo and everyone was on their feet in wild applause.

Overcome and in tears, I ran up on stage and put my arms around Robby in joy. “I’ve never heard you play like that Robby! How’d you do it?” Through the microphone, Robby explained: “Well Miss Hondorf … remember I told you my Mom was sick? Well, actually she had cancer and passed away. And well … she was born deaf so tonight was the first time she ever heard me play. I wanted to make it special.”

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house that evening. As the people from Social services led Robby from the stage to be placed into foster care, I noticed that even their eyes were red and puffy, and I thought to myself how much richer my life had been for taking Robby as my pupil.

No, I’ve never had a prodigy but that night I became a prodigy … of Robby’s. He was the teacher and I was the pupil, for it is he that taught me the meaning of perseverance and love and believing in yourself, and maybe even taking a chance in someone and you don’t know why.

Positive Daily Inspiration – August 25, 2023 – Make a Difference

Positive Daily Inspiration - August 25, 2023
Make a Difference

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph.”
2 Corinthians 2:14

I watched a show once that focused on real life heroes – people that make a difference. We are surrounded by people like this. Most do not get on national TV, but ALL make a difference.

I saw a hero just last week when I watched A Big Brother pick up a young boy to take him to the zoo. I have witnessed heroes that have become foster parents. I even saw a hero adopt a dog from the animal shelter on the last day before the dog would be put down.

Lindberg and Earhardt flew their airplanes, against all odds. Shackleton climbed Mount Everest. Astronauts go into space riding on top of a rocket and come back in the middle of a fireball. These are heroes we can all relate to. All showed us what is possible for humans to obtain.

Television, now, has reality shows that test humans normal boundaries. Humans are shown, weekly, going into daring situations that they would normally fear.

But I say, that everyday life, also, has heroes. Normal people, in everyday situations, are doing courageous and daring feats, although they are often overlooked by history.

The young mother who, against all odds, faces life alone with her children and succeeds.

A man goes to college at night after working a full-time job, to make a better life for himself and his family.

A young person leaves behind known friends that are going down the wrong path, to seek new acquaintances that are drug and alcohol free at N.A. and A.A.

The person who places God first instead of cowering under problems and worries, and stands up walking forward into an unknown, but Divinely assured future.

The person that has been laid off, or let go, and gets up immediately and starts looking for another job. He or she is moving on the energy of God’s hope and help.

A person, divorced against their will, and yet doesn’t give up on themselves, or on love.

People who do not just pass by strangers, but truly care.

These are just some of the heroes of ordinary life, for there are many, too numerous to mention.

How about you? Can you rise to the occasion?

With God’s help you can!

God needs you to make a difference.

Relax, and put aside any concern you may have, regarding your life and the circumstances you face. You let go and you let God fill your mind and heart. In God’s presence, you find peace and courage. God infills you with hero-like power. You discover, through God, you are released from anxious thoughts and feelings.

As you try again, God empowers you, and there comes a realization that God’s power is in charge. In yielding your fears and anxieties to God, you see as well, a sense of Divine rightness coming forth in all that concerns you. You rely on God and trust in God’s good. You know that the hand of love guides you, helping you to know what to do, and when to promote the outworking of good.

Your total trust in God replaces any feeling of insecurity, concern, or fear. Having placed all things in God’s care, you are assured of complete and lasting fulfillment.

It is encouraging to hear about the victories of women and men, in many areas of human endeavor. It lets us learn of heroism, of courage, of selfless acts of strength and endurance. You may wish that you, too, could show such strength and fortitude.

Each time you win out against a negative or depressing thought, each time you are able to overcome even one little weakness, one empty fear, one fleeting feeling of anger or resentment, you are a hero.

You are a genuine winner every time you refuse to react to persons or situation with criticism or worry.

You are triumphant over doubt and fear; you rise above limiting conditions, as you rely on God. You have Divine guidance and direction for life. In God, you have an eternal resource of strength and courage.

Through God, you are always victorious.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, make me a better person today.
Help me to make a difference.
Come through me so that I can become more than just myself.
I pray that I am not selfish, but selfless.
May all that come in contact with me see a reflection of You.

Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

Peace flows like a river through my mind, and I thank Thee, O God, that I am one with Thee!

TEMPORARY HAS NO POWER OVER THE ETERNAL

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“The eternal God is your dwelling place.”
Deuteronomy 33:27

You are able, today, to rise out of any feeling that prayer has gone unanswered, if you look at life as a continual learning and growing process. Sometimes, you do not understand why some experience has come to you, or, looking at the life of another, you do not understand why he or she did not make some longed-for overcoming.

But, if you could truly see as God sees, you would be able to fathom the meanings that are now obscure. You would be able to see all of life as part of a pattern of God’s good. You would be able to see that, truly, there are no unanswered prayers. You would be able to see that there is no failure. There are only steps in growth, which we take according to our light and understanding. We may need to follow many seemingly divergent paths in order to come into the fullness of our nature, as told to us by Jesus.

The life of God is endless, changeless. We are all part of this life. The spirit in us reminds us, continually, that there is more than what we can see with our physical eyes. We are constantly moving into the pattern of perfection that brings us through the temporary into the eternal.

There are so many that only have the small faith to focus and see the temporary. These individuals, habitually, think in terms of disaster and dire circumstances. They may live a more or less, trouble-free life on the surface, but inwardly they are in a continual state of anxiety and fear.

You have a God-given power to control your thinking and reactions. But you must be aware of the tenor of your thinking in order to take control. You may actually be unaware that you are allowing fear of temporary conditions to dominate your thinking and block your vision of the eternal. If you hear bad news of some sort, what is your first reaction? You can learn to react from the standpoint of God’s truth, which is to know that the power of God is present to adjust and to heal.

Whatever the need in your life or in the life of a friend or loved one, with God’s help, it can be met. Your positive, faith-filled thoughts keep you centered in the eternal goodness of God. This will keep you strong and peaceful as temporary waves hit your ship of life.

God is constant and ever responsive — with the same reliable response of love and help. God is not moody, tricky, angry, or out to get you. What we think about God says more about us than God! Humans, over the centuries, have placed human beings’ worst tendencies onto God. You are made in the image of God; God is not made in the image of a bad human. We are moving as human beings, ever evolving, into manifesting more of our God-given attributes and gifts.

Jesus constantly reminded us, that it is “Our” father. As children of God, we are heirs to the best of God. This is the eternal promise and Divine guarantee.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, grant me to meet the coming day in peace.
Help me in all things to rely upon Thy holy grace.
And every hour of the day reveal Thy good to me.
Bless my dealings with all who surround me.
Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout the day with peace of soul, and with firm conviction that Thy love governs all.

In all my deeds and words guide my thoughts and feelings.
In unforeseen events let me not forget that all are sent by You.
Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others.
Give me strength to bear the coming day with all that it shall bring.
Direct my will, teach me to pray, love, and accept Your grace.

Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

I relax and release everything into God’s perfect care and keeping.

Positive Daily Inspiration – August 23, 2023 – GOD NEVER STOPS HEALING YOU

Positive Daily Inspiration - August 23, 2023
GOD NEVER STOPS HEALING YOU

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

GOD NEVER STOPS HEALING YOU

“If thou canst believe, ALL things are possible to the person that believes.”
Mark 9:23

The number of injuries a typical human being can endure is astounding. This became visible, one day, years ago, when I was doing a seminar to make a point about God’s design of innate healing within the human body. Several hundred men and women were gathered in a large room. Two or three thousand strips of red cloth were prepared and we asked each person to fasten or tie a red strip over any part of his or her body that had been wounded in some way – a cut, a broken bone, a knife wound, a scar, or some other body part that was hurt and then healed.

Many men and women needed ten or more strips. For some people, the entire right side of the body, head to ankle, was brilliant red; on others, red almost covered the head, for some, both arms and legs. When the exercise was over, the room was a sea of red.

I asked the question: “Are you healed now?” Most said that they had entirely healed. God designed the body to be self-renewing. We damage it and it repairs itself in a most miraculous way. The body is constantly regenerating and building itself anew. This is the way God designed you.

I was born in 1951. I saw a 1951 Cadillac the other day, it was all rusty and up on blocks. This was the finest car of its day and yet, because it is not self-renewing, it is ready for the dump. In comparison to this 1951 Cadillac, I look good, especially if you’re grading on a curve. The reason for this is “regeneration.” There is not one cell in my body or mind that is over seven years of age. Each cell constantly replaces itself with a new cell.

Medical doctors and scientists tell us that every seven years, each cell in your body and mind has replaced itself with a new one. You could say, correctly, that I am just seven years old. You, too, are just seven years of age. Seven years from now, you will be a brand new person. Think about being a brand new person every seven years.

If you or someone you know is sick right now, this is a very reassuring message of hope. The sickness, or the hurt in the body, has come to pass. Even as we speak, it is passing out of you and your experience.

I believe that all healing is spiritual; and doctors and medicines aid in the natural healing process created by God.

Can you cooperate with the spiritual healing process? Yes! The first step in all spiritual healing is to believe. You take this step as you open your mind and heart to believe in God’s infinite power and possibility. You cooperate with God by believing that healing is a dynamic and reachable experience. You maintain a patient and loving attitude, for you believe that the healing activity of God is now at work in your mind and body, and in all the conditions of your life. No matter what your need for healing may be — in body, finances, or in relationships — you look forward with joyful expectation to the perfect wholeness that God is now bringing into manifestation.

You believe in the loving, healing power of God within all people. You believe in God’s constant expression of perfect good in and through all facets of life. You believe and give thanks that healing is a reality that can be experienced, right now. You rest in the certainty of the healing power of God at work around the clock, seven days a week, nonstop, in you and in those you love. You know that, with God, all things are possible.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Heal us, Lord, and we shall be healed; save us, and we shall be saved; for it is You we praise.
Send relief and healing for all our diseases, our sufferings and our wounds; for You are merciful and faithful healer.
Blessed are You Lord who heals the sick.

– Traditional Jewish prayer

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

Today, I allow myself to fully become the hope, the peace, the love, and the joy of the Christ.

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

“To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
Romans 8:6

I would like to share with you the following words which were found in old St. Paul’s Church in Baltimore, dated 1692:

Desiderata.

“Go placidly amid the noise the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

“Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they, too, have their story.

“Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

“Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career; however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

“Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

“Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

“Take kindly to counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

“Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, … … YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HERE. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding just as it should.

“Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive God to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.

“With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.”

Let us rest, reflect, in the silence of prayer … …

Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – August 21, 2023 – ARE YOU PASTEURIZED?

ARE YOU PASTEURIZED?

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

ARE YOU PASTEURIZED?

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with just judgment.”
John 7:24

Sometimes, ordinary things can teach us extraordinary truths about God and about ourselves. For example, if you were to look inside your refrigerator, you would probably find a carton of milk.

First of all, what you see is not the milk; what you are actually seeing is the vessel that contains the milk. When you see the carton you know and trust that the milk is inside. You associate the carton with the milk. It’s the same with you. When I look upon you, I see a body, a vessel for something much greater.

“Do you not know that you are God’s Temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are.” I Corinthians 3:16, 17

On the carton of milk it may say, “It’s real.” That, too, could be said of you. You have a possibility of being your true self if you choose to be, of being genuine, not artificial.

Often, we look at ourselves only as a carton, but we are more. We are real, not temporal, but eternal. No matter what shape our carton is in, the inner contents (the soul) has the potential of a state of perpetual perfectness.

On the carton it says, “Grade A.” In the school of life, I believe that God loves you so much that God would desire to give you an A. You might think of some test where you didn’t score well, but you are here today, better for the experience. Each person handles life to the best of his or her ability to do so, and the more we rely on God’s ever-present help, the more A grades we will acquire in this classroom that we all reside in called life.

The milk is pasteurized. We, too, are pasteurized if we live the Jesus Christ way of life. It is a past-your-eyes — a looking-beyond the appearance type of life, looking beyond something that is in your life right now. Instead of allowing a challenge to defeat you and bring you down, you know that you can go past it. You know that you can move mountains with God’s help, because that which is within you is greater than the world.

Do you know what the most negative statement ever made is? It is, “I’ve got to see it before I can believe it.” Let’s change that around to, “I’ve got to believe it before I can see it.”

Pasteurizing involves heating milk to a temperature of between 131 and 58 degrees Fahrenheit to destroy all harmful bacteria. Christianity says that that can happen inside of you, too. There is an allegory of the cleansing fire, the purification that happens to us. It can happen in an instant inside your life. The heat of a God-centered life transmutes the negativity inside of us, and we go through a purification process toward a total, complete cleansing.

Are you pasteurized? You become “pastor-ized” when you turn to God with your total being. That is what it’s like to be a minister — a pastor. It is that point in our development where we get out of the way and do good things for other people. We let God’s love shine through us to humankind. All milk is homogenized. Homogenized is something we too must strive for. It means blending together or atonement (at-one-ment): wholeness, at one with God, at one with each other. Love is the homogenizing process. Love is a creative energy that comes from God and flows through us to bond us together for the good of humankind. We are praying at Positive Christianity that the whole world becomes homogenized in God’s pure love.

Our milk carton state that vitamins A and D are added. We too must add vitamins A and D to our daily life. What are vitamins A and D? Vitamin A in your life is the (A)ffirmative prayer vitamins. The vocal prayer vitamin of positive affirmation affirms the truth of God even when our eyes cannot yet see it.

Example: I may have a sickness in my body, but looking past my eyes I affirm in prayer that, with God’s help, I can again be in absolute health and wholeness. I am immersed in a God of perfection that is not sick, that created me, re-creates me, and gives me life and health, continually.

As I affirm that truth of God, the idea feeds my body and it spreads throughout my mind in my belief system. This type of prayer is pure faith in God and it produces perfection in my living, changing carton of life.

Then, I add to my life vitamin D the vocal prayer vitamin of denial. I deny and say no to old fear-based, doubting belief. Jesus says let everything you say, say Yay Yay (Yes Yes), or Nay Nay (No No). We have the power to say no to lack-of-faith thoughts. We have the power to say no to worry. Old thoughts occupy valuable space in our life. Our minds must have a mental housecleaning to bring in the fresh new ideas of God’s truth. We can say yes to the ideas that we desire and no to old limiting thoughts. We deny that old beliefs have any power over us because God is with us. With God’s power, we deny worry and fear the power to destroy our lives. Let’s clean out our “thought house” so we can better receive the Divine ideas of God.

I hope we all become dairy farmers, but with a spelling like this: D A R E – Y – to dare to go beyond the norm in our lives. To dare to go beyond what we thought to be true about ourselves, yesterday. To dare to be great to produce a life that is real, pasteurized, and homogenized “Grade A,” with vitamins A and D added.

As you begin to envision life “past-your-eyes,” life will churn out good for you! __________________________________________

(Submitted with our great thanks!)

“Your faith has made you well.”
Mark 5:32

A healing Pastor came to a church. There was a long line to see him. It was a little boy’s turn in line and he said it was his hearing.

So, the healing Pastor grabbed his ears and said a prayer.

The Pastor let go and asked, “How’s your hearing now?”

“I don’t know … it’s not till Friday,” replied the boy.

_______

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.

After explaining the commandment to “Honor thy father and thy mother,” she asked, “Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?”

Without missing a beat one little boy answered, “Thou shall not kill.”

_______

A boy was watching his father, a pastor, write a sermon.

“How do you know what to say?” he asked.

“Why, God tells me,” the father answered.

The boy replied, “Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out?”

_______

For all of us who are—seniors—
for all of you who know seniors—
and for all of you who will be seniors.

It pays to be able to laugh about it when you are a senior!

‘Where Is My Paper?’

The irate customer calling the newspaper offices loudly demanded to know where her Sunday edition was.

“Ma’am,” said the employee, “today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered ’til Sunday.”

There was quite a pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition.

“So that’s why no one was in church today.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – August 18, 2023 – Six Personality Traits to Admire and Acquire

Positive Daily Inspiration - August 18, 2023
Six Personality Traits to Admire and Acquire

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.org

̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶ o O o ̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶̶

Six Personality Traits to Admire and Acquire

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. God is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. … In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From God’s temple God heard my voice; my cry came before God, into God’s ears.”
Psalm 18:2-6

1. Selflessness:

In a world where many people don’t have the time or the interest in others, selflessness is a quality that seems to be less and less common, and therefore more in demand by society. People can be selfless in the time they give, the ability to listen, their level of patience and the love that they give. Those who are giving and generous in nature have the power to make others feel loved, appreciated and special. These people become godlike. While those who are self-absorbed tend to do the exact opposite.

2. Tolerance:

Those people who are tolerant make us feel comfortable with who we are and special as individuals. All of us are different, and many of us have quirks and idiosyncrasies. After all, these differences make the world go round. Having the ability to accept people for who they are and not expect them to be who we want them to be is important in life, happiness and in the health of our relationships. These people exhibit the tendencies of God.

3. Genuineness:

Having the ability to be real, authentic and honest is unique in a world where we put so much emphasis on the superficial. Feeling comfortable in one’s skin and being true to one’s self is one of the most beautiful traits one can possess. To have a REAL relationship with someone requires honesty … it requires hearing and giving input or feedback that may not always be popular … it means having the strength to tell it like it is and to not be afraid to face the consequences for doing so … it means loving people for who they really are … deep down … and not for what they appear to be. It is godlike to be genuine.

4. Sensitivity:

So often we are focused on what is important to ourselves that we can forget about those around us. Those who are sensitive are often thoughtful, appreciative and loving, in a way that makes you feel understood, valued and respected. Often, sensitive people are also self-aware, making them mindful of how they impact others with what they do and say. We value God’s relationship with us because of the sensitivity of caring for our needs, and we prize people that do the same.

5. Integrity:

The cynical, will call this characteristic especially difficult to find in today’s world. In a time when people will do things that are underhanded to make an extra buck and do what feels good in the moment without necessarily thinking of the consequences, integrity is a characteristic that is especially unique today. God always shows integrity towards us, and following God we must show integrity towards others.

6. Humility:

Whether someone is super-smart, extremely talented or drop-dead gorgeous, there is something extra special about them if they don’t come across as though they know it all the time. Humility in those that possess extraordinary traits make others feel special too. It is a spiritual trait that the mature human reflects.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Let our friendships be strong, dear God,

that they become a blessing to others …

Let our friendships be open, dear God,

that they may be a haven for others …

Let our friendships be gentle, dear God,

that they may bring peace to others …

For Jesus’ sake. Amen.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

“I am a happy, harmonious, perfect child of God, and I know that God is patient, loving, and understanding in caring for me.”

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE:

“Life is like the dice that, falling, still show a different face. So life, though it remains the same, is always presenting different aspects.”
Alexis
