Positive Daily Inspiration - December 23, 2022 - Christmas Inspiration

(Submitted with our great thanks.)

Philippians 2:8-10 “And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.

I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: “There is no Santa Claus,” she jeered. “Even dummies know that!”

My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier, when swallowed with one of her “world-famous” cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.

Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me. “No Santa Claus?” she snorted.

Ridiculous! Don’t believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad. Now, put on your coat, and let’s go.”

Off we went to Kerby’s General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days.

“Take this money,” she said, “and buy something for someone who needs it. I’ll wait for you in the car.” Then she turned and walked out of Kerby’s.

I was only eight years old. I’d often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.

For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for. I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church. I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock’s grade-two class.

Bobby Decker didn’t have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn’t have a cough; he had no coat. I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat! I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.

“Is this a Christmas present for someone?” the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down.

“Yes, ma’am, I replied shyly. “It’s for Bobby.”

The nice lady smiled at me. I didn’t get any change, but she put the coat in a bag and wished me Merry Christmas.

That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat in Christmas paper and ribbons (a little tag fell out of the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) and wrote, “To Bobby, From Santa Claus” on it. Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy.

Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker’s house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially one of Santa’s helpers. Grandma parked down the street from Bobby’s house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. “All right, Santa Claus,” she whispered, “get going.” I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his doorbell and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma.

Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.

Fifty years haven’t dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker’s bushes.

That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were: ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.

I still have Grandma’s Bible, with the coat’s tag tucked inside: $19.95.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Into Thy hands, O Lord, we commit ourselves this Christmas. Give to each one of us a watchful, a humble, and the diligent spirit, that we may seek in all things to know Thy will, and when we know it may perform it perfectly and gladly, to the honor and glory of Thy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In Jesus’s Name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: As I move, may I be God’s love in motion.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – December 22, 2022 – 2022 Christmas Inspiration

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 22, 2022 - 2022 Christmas Inspiration

(Submitted with our great thanks.)

Luke 2:15-16 “When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.”

Billy was getting cold sitting out in his back yard in the snow. Billy didn’t wear boots; he didn’t like them and anyway, he didn’t own any. The thin sneakers he wore had a few holes in them and they did a poor job of keeping out the cold. Billy had been in his backyard for about an hour, already. And, try as he might, he could not come up with an idea for his mother’s Christmas gift. He shook his head as he thought, “This is useless, even if I do come up with an idea, I don’t have any money to spend.”

Ever since his father had passed away three years ago, the family of five had struggled. It wasn’t because his mother didn’t care, or try, there just never seemed to be enough. She worked nights at the hospital, but the small wage that she was earning could only be stretched so far.

What the family lacked in money and material things, they more than made up for in love and family unity. Billy had two older and one younger sister, who ran the household in their mother’s absence. All three of his sisters had already made beautiful gifts for their mother. Somehow it just wasn’t fair. Here it was Christmas Eve already, and he had nothing.

Wiping a tear from his eye, Billy kicked the snow and started to walk down to the street where the shops and stores were. It wasn’t easy being six without a father, especially when he needed a man to talk to. Billy walked from shop to shop, looking into each decorated window.

Everything seemed so beautiful and so out of reach.

It was starting to get dark and Billy reluctantly turned to walk home when suddenly, his eyes caught the glimmer of the setting sun’s rays reflecting off of something along the curb. He reached down and discovered a shiny dime. Never before has anyone felt so wealthy as Billy felt at that moment.

As he held his new-found treasure, a warmth spread throughout his entire body and he walked into the first store he saw. His excitement quickly turned cold when the salesperson told him that he couldn’t buy anything with only a dime.

He saw a flower shop and went inside to wait in line. When the shop owner asked if he could help him, Billy presented the dime and asked if he could buy one flower for his mother’s Christmas gift. The shop owner looked at Billy and his ten-cent offering.

Then he put his hand on Billy’s shoulder and said to him, “You just wait here and I’ll see what I can do for you.” As Billy waited, he looked at the beautiful flowers and even though he was a boy, he could see why mothers and girls liked flowers.

The sound of the door closing as the last customer left jolted Billy back to reality. All alone in the shop, Billy began to feel alone and afraid. Suddenly the shop owner came out and moved to the counter.

There, before Billy’s eyes, lay twelve long stem, red roses, with leaves of green and tiny white flowers all tied together with a big silver bow. Billy’s heart sank as the owner picked them up and placed them gently into a long white box.

“That will be ten cents young man,” the shop owner said reaching out his hand for the dime. Slowly, Billy moved his hand to give the man his dime. Could this be true? No one else would give him a thing for his dime!

Sensing the boy’s reluctance, the shop owner added, “I just happened to have some roses on sale for ten cents a dozen. Would you like them?”

This time Billy did not hesitate, and when the man placed the long box into his hands, he knew it was true. Walking out the door that the owner was holding for Billy, he heard the shopkeeper say, “Merry Christmas, son.”

As the shopkeeper returned inside, the shopkeeper’s wife walked out. “Who were you talking to back there and where are the roses you were fixing?”

Staring out the window, and blinking the tears from his own eyes, he replied, “A strange thing happened to me this morning. While I was setting up things to open the shop, I thought I heard a voice telling me to set aside a dozen of my best roses for a special gift. I wasn’t sure at the time whether I had lost my mind or what, but I set them aside, anyway.

Then just a few minutes ago, a little boy came into the shop and wanted to buy a flower for his mother with one small dime.

“When I looked at him, I saw myself, many years ago. I, too, was a poor boy with nothing to buy my mother a Christmas gift. A bearded man, whom I never knew, stopped me on the street and told me that he wanted to give me ten dollars. “When I saw that little boy tonight, I knew who that voice was, and I put together a dozen of my very best roses.” The shop owner and his wife hugged each other, tightly, and as they stepped out into the bitter cold air, they somehow didn’t feel cold at all.

May this story instill the spirit of CHRISTmas in you.

Have a Joyous and Peace-filled season.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON (1850 – 1894), wrote this prayer,

Loving Father, help us remember
the birth of Jesus, that we may
share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds
and the wisdom of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open
the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift
and good desires with every greeting.

Deliver us from evil by the blessing
which Christ brings, and teach us to
be merry with clean hearts.

May the Christmas morning
make us happy to be Thy children
and the Christmas evening bring us
to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven,
for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: This Christmas, God is with me to comfort and bless me, so that I may do the same for others.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “Goodness is the only investment that doesn’t fail.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – December 21, 2022 – WHAT WOULD YOU ASK GOD FOR THIS CHRISTMAS?

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 21, 2022

WHAT WOULD YOU ASK GOD FOR THIS CHRISTMAS?

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Luke 11:9

There’s a marvelous book entitled “Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting” by Lynn Grabhorn, published by Hampton Roads.

In it she shares this Christmas story.

“Its Christmas time, pretend that you are Santa Claus at the mall, replete with a scratchy beard and pillowed tummy. You’re listening to all the wee folk rattle off their long lists of wants, but after a while you decide to spread around some magic dust so that kids of any age will feel the urge to reveal some of their less socially acceptable wants.

“Up comes a little cutie-pie, about six, who hops up on to your knee. She starts to give you her list: a few special toys as seen on TV, and a couple of old standbys like a doll and a puppy. That’s it. Nothing new.

“So you spread your magic dust and out of comes: a big swing in the backyard, a daddy to be around more, a mommy who will take time to play, someone – anyone – who will believe about the pretty angels in the bedroom, and somebody to always make everything alright. Oh, and lots of brothers and sisters, please. Then she jumps down, happy as a lark.

“Do you remember what your secret wants were at six years of age?

“Next a tall, gangling 18-year-old comes up, having fun with the experience and quite willing to go along with the gag.

“‘All right now, what would you like Santa to bring you?’ Once again, even though the teenager is gladly entering into the spirit of this silliness, the list is alarmingly short. ‘Well, I will take that new car you got hidden in your sack, Santa. And I wouldn’t mind a few thousand dollars in my stocking for play money. And if you just happened to have a romance back there in your sleigh, hey, that would be cool!’

“You sprinkle your magic, the 18-year-old relaxes, and out of comes an amazing list of rightful wants, having to do with careers, and friends, and success, and fame, and clothes, and living conditions, and family – and genuine happiness – ‘whatever that is,’ he mumbles.

“Do you remember what your secret wants were at 18 years of age, and what dreams got stuffed away so that you could live in ‘the real world?’

“Finally comes the adult, gleefully hopping up on your Santa Claus knee as the kids watch and snicker.

“‘And what would you like, my friend,’ you ask expectantly. You’re dismayed to find that this person has the shortest list of anyone so far, as though every hope and dream ever owned just flew to the next galaxy. Oh, there’s the new house, and new car, and a flippant crack about winning the lottery, but that’s it. Quickly you sprinkle your magic dust. Nothing. You sprinkle more. Still nothing. You empty the bag. Slowly at first, as if having to be pulled up from the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean, comes a comment about having a pie shop. And another about learning to play the piano. A pause, and then another about taking a horticultural course at a local college. And another about building a unique kind of sailboat. This one’s on a roll now. There’s another about being able to financially help a friend open a dance school, and another about having an automatic garage door, and another about opening a summer camp for city kids and about having confidence to talk in front of a group of people. There’s one about improving relations with certain family members, and learning how to be more loving, and on, and on, and on. It took a full bag, but the dam holding back those long forgotten treasures finally broke.

“What dreams have you put aside? Your ambitions, your forgotten goals, even your littlest desires – what are they? WHAT ARE THEY?”

This is time to have a long talk with God and uncover again those dreams and desires that may be covered up with the dust of the years and in so doing, you will receive the gift of life – more abundantly than ever before.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, help me to rediscover my hidden dreams. Help me to believe bigger in You, and in myself, and in my dreams yet unfulfilled. Show me the way – I am ready.

In Jesus Christ name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: My dreams are now the size of my faith – very large!

Tuesday Prayer and Meditation for JOY

“REJOICE ALWAYS, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

On this Advent week of Joy, I am joyfully alive, with the full joy of the Christmas Spirit.

Thank You, God, for my life, for the blessed privilege of being alive in Your beautiful world.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a channel this Christmas through which You are expressing Your joy, Your life, Your never-failing love.
I realize that I’m progressing as a spiritual being, and that I will have
the even greater opportunity in the future to manifest these God-given attributes.
Thank You, God, for this enriching, fulfilling Christmas and every day ahead in 2018.
I am open and receptive to the good my life contains, and I look forward, with spiritual vision, to happy, joyous, exciting experiences.
Life is for living, for loving, for caring, and for sharing, and I am I am filled, and thrilled with the joy of life and living during this sacred time of Christmas.
I give the gift of my joy.

As I share my feelings of joy and enthusiasm for life and living with those around me, they respond in kind.

My life becomes an experience of shared trust, support, and understanding.

Thank You, God, for the power to reach for higher things. I know there is truly nothing impossible to me when I develop a spiritual vision and live by that vision without wavering.

Back of every achievement, every accomplishment is a positive thought that has reached a point of unfoldment.

Dear God, may I move towards achievement and accomplishment, and I show it to others in my attitude. I give myself the Christmas gift of a continuous joyful positive attitude.

I plant positive seed thoughts and I visualize that which I desire.
I hold to the vision, and I let no doubt, or fear creep in to smother my crop.
I cultivate it, believe in it, and I know that I will receive.
The spiritual law is that everything produces after its kind.
I believe that my ship comes in this next year.
Honor and majesty are before me.
Strength and beauty are mine to claim.
The fulfilling of the law is in the planting, the cultivating, and the harvesting.
This is my time of personal, positive, spiritual vision, and in joy I go forth to meet my good.

In the name of the baby born in Bethlehem, Jesus Christ … Amen

Positive Daily Inspiration – December 19, 2022 – THIS CHRISTMAS, YOU GIVE FREELY

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 19, 2022 - THIS CHRISTMAS, YOU GIVE FREELY

“I give you what I have.”
Acts 3:6

(For donations to be credited to this calendar year – see below)

Often, we let ourselves be limited by the thought that only when we give money and expensive gifts can we do good. If anyone takes a quick inventory of himself, or herself, they will find that they have much to give other than money, or expensive gifts.

This Christmas, you can give words of encouragement to a friend.

This Christmas, although it may take a little effort, you could agree with the biblical teaching, to walk the second mile with someone you care about.

This Christmas, you can give a gift of patience – great patience in a trying situation.

This Christmas, you can give the gift to breaking the link in a chain of gossip.

This Christmas, you can offer a sympathetic ear, be a good listener for one who may have the need to unburden themselves.

This Christmas, you can freely give away smiles to all you meet – even in long lines!

This Christmas, you can be upbeat and positive to all those around you.

This Christmas, you can agree to give the gift of not criticizing – not even once.

This Christmas, you can let your light shine by not being cynical and not talking negatively about anything.

People remember these gifts mentioned above as the years pass, more than any material gift that you could give, no matter how expensive.

You are infinitely rich with the gifts of Spirit. You have so very much to give.

The effort that you put forth will also give back to you. For example, the effort to be more patient in one situation will bring about greater patience in another trying situation. When you go out of your way to help a friend, a friend, at a later time, will also go out of his or her way to help you.

In short, life is a great chain of action and reaction. Clearly understanding this in your heart, you give freely this Christmas, all that you can find in yourself, to give.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, with Your help, I give the greatest gift of all, A PORTION OF MYSELF.

In Jesus Christ name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: God makes me whole and healthy. Divine life in me heals and strengthens me.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “Where there is no love, pour love in, and you will draw love out.”

“Remember, I am with you always.”
Matthew 28:20

Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and says to the first man he meets, “Do you want to go to heaven?” The man said, “I do Father.” The priest said, “Then stand over there against the wall.”

Then the priest asked the second man, “Do you want to go to heaven?” “Certainly, Father,” was the man’s reply. “Then stand over there against the wall,” said the priest.

Then Father Murphy walked up to O’Toole and said, “Do you want to go to heaven?” O’Toole said, “No, I don’t Father.”

The priest said, “I don’t believe this. You mean to tell me that when you die you don’t want to go to heaven?”

O’Toole said, “Oh, when I die, yes. I thought you were getting a group together to go right now.”

Positive Daily Inspiration – December 17, 2022 – CHRIST WAS LOVE

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 17, 2022 - CHRIST WAS LOVE

“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
1 John 4:8

A woman shares: Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience. I had cut back on nonessential obligations – extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending.

Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas.

My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six-year-old. For weeks, he’d been memorizing songs for his school’s “Winter Pageant.”

I didn’t have the heart to tell him I’d be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there would be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation. All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then. Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise. So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down.

Around the room, I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song.

Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as “Christmas,” I didn’t expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment – songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer.

So, when my son’s class rose to sing, “Christmas Love,” I was slightly taken aback by its bold title.

Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snow caps upon their heads. Those in the front row-center stage held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song.

As the class would sing “C is for Christmas,” a child would hold up the letter C. Then, “H is for Happy,” and on and on, until each child, holding up his portion, had presented the complete message, “Christmas Love.” The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her. A small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter “M” upside down – totally unaware her letter “M” appeared as a “W”.

The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one’s mistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her “W”.

Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.

A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen. In that instant, we understood – the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear: “CHRIST WAS LOVE”

And, I believe, He still is!”

Prayer Request: This regards a work situation in which I processed a payment made by a customer paying by card, but the transaction showed up on my roster as ‘cash’, leaving my Cash Drawer unbalanced for the particular day. I’m fairly new in this position, but have never made such a mistake before, and I request prayer that the matter is totally resolved quickly for my best and highest Good. Many thanks…LD

Positive Daily Inspiration – December 16, 2022 – Stages of Life

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 16, 2022 - Stages of Life

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

Are you moving into an important new stage in life? Through marrying, or separating, overcoming an unhealthy habit, experiencing retirement, or moving to a new location, you may feel as if you are leaving behind “familiar you” to become a “new you.”

I was just talking on the phone to an old friend who is seriously considering relocating, so that he can get back into life, as he put it. Times like this take great courage, leaving behind the familiar, for the unknown. My friend will be just fine because he is very aware that God will go ahead of him preparing the way for his good, and the good that he can do for others.

You may feel at odds with yourself as you prepare to go into a different stage of life and, at the same time, feel both the eager and anxious about who you are becoming.

Although this stage in life may feel like a leap in faith, you can make it! You are willing to stretch beyond any preconceived limits that you yourself or others, however unintentionally, have outlined for you.

You are daily becoming a new creation in Christ. Each new adventure is a leap of faith; however, your faith is founded on the presence of God with you. The new you that is emerging is patterned in the perfection of the Christ.

As I write this, I look back on my life, and it is as if I have lived in many lifetimes, each time was richer than the last, the stages that I have been through, although sometimes painful when going through them, have all, prepared me for the great times now, and immediately ahead in the future.

You know that every day brings added opportunities to learn what you need to know. When the same pattern repeats itself in your experiences, life may be telling you that you have homework to do. Further growth is needed, and it waits to unfold in you.

You learn that you have the power to change a circumstance by changing your attitude about it, or the energy that you contribute to it. For instance, you may need to correct the pattern of thought or action you have been following and find a better way, the Christ Way, to overcome some challenge.

In the stages of life, you need never depart from the experience of learning. Most important, your Teacher, is God, and God is always with you. With God’s help, the old will pass away and the new will come. God is waiting to help you into your next stage of life. God is willing to come through you as you work in the arena of your new endeavor. God is your constant companion in your help in every need. Life is exciting, and there is nothing as exciting, or fulfilling as our next stage of unfoldment.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, I am with You, be with me.
Lead me, guide me, show me the way.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Thank You God.

Positive Daily Inspiration – December 15, 2022 – CHOOSE NOT TO GOSSIP OR CRITICIZE

Positive Daily Inspiration - December 15, 2022 - CHOOSE NOT TO GOSSIP OR CRITICIZE

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound your whole body will be full of light.”
Matthew 6:22

Jesus talked constantly about perceptions. If we are following Jesus, we must constantly look for and see the good. Your eye is the lamp of your body and if your eye is sound and not blinded by the cataracts of negativity, your whole body and life will be filled with light, love, and happiness.

Jesus Christ reminded us that we are to follow Him. However, we can become caught up in concern that others may find fault with us, or that we must adopt the lifestyle of others. When this happens, we are not attuning to, or following through on our own Divine guidance. God loves us, and we must begin following God by not cutting ourselves down in criticizing ourselves.

When we are faithfully following God, we are looking to God for solutions to our own challenges. When we depend on God, we, by example, are encouraging others to do the same.

Often, we become way too concerned with the way that others are living their lives. The only one that we can really be concerned with is ourselves. To others we make the personal decision to extend unconditional love – we give each person the freedom to be. Every day, as we follow Christ, we express more and more Christ-like attributes.

We have true peace of mind because we know that when we are following our own guidance from God, our lives are in order.

We follow Christ with our mind, and also our mouth. Gossip and unkind criticism about other persons, groups, or political parties, never hurt them as much as the words hurt us. We rob our soul of growth when we criticize and gossip about others.

We can overcome any such tendencies in ourselves if we diligently strive, day by day, to overcome any unloving or critical thoughts. This can be done if we diligently follow Christ. We can train ourselves to see the Spirit of God working in others.

Criticism and negativity about others is addictive behavior to the lower human mind. Criticism stems from boredom with our own lives and the need to give opinions on other lives. It is a hard habit to break, but it can be done; and the soul rewards of following Jesus in this way are enormous.

No matter what we may hear about another, no matter what we may see, if we remember to look beyond appearances like Jesus told us to, we will find that the inclination to criticize gradually disappears.

None of us knows the full story about another; to do that, we would have to walk many miles in their shoes. Jesus pointed out that no person is in a position to cast stones at another. We are all here in this life to learn more about the art of living as taught by Jesus, and in the process all of us make errors. The errors are part of life, and are of no big deal, as long as we learn lessons from them to correct our path. The Bible says that God forgives our mistakes, and we can be happy when we follow God and forgive others too.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, today with Your ever-abiding help I agree to stop gossip and criticizing.

In Jesus Christ name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION: Christ within me is my glory. The brightness of God’s presence wipes out all darkness; I am filled with light, life, and peace.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE: “The world reveals itself to us exactly as we address ourselves to it; if we view it with kind eyes, it appears to be a kind place; if we view it with harsh eyes, it appears to be a harsh place.”
