LOOKING FOR EMPLOYMENT?

“And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Colossians 3:23

The source of all your good is God. People are more successful when they work directly for God instead of for men and women. I invite you to know this secretly within yourself for it helps empower you and can give you purpose.

If you are looking for a job, you are no doubt answering ads, going to job interviews and sending out resumes. During this time, you become willing to listen to anything that might help you find a job.

You have God-given inner gifts, powers and abilities. There is a verse in Proverbs, Proverbs 18:16, which says, “A human’s gift makes room for them and brings them before great people.” If you’re looking for work for the first time, or if you’re the one who feels that you can do more than your present job entails, or if you have been laid off – there is a right and perfect place for you. As you pray to God to be guided to your right place, it may be that you will find it in progressive steps. If you need prosperity to pay bills you may need to take any kind of job you can find. Even if you take a job that does not use your skills, abilities or education, your “gift” will make room for you. Your truly right place will open to you because you are doing a right spirit and a good attitude to whatever it is you find to do.

Sometimes persons who have taken temporary jobs out of necessity have found that such jobs led to their perfect employment.

Sometimes their gift created a new job for them, in the most unlikely of places. Other persons have found that faith in their God-given abilities and their confidence in the power of God at work in them, wherever they found themselves, opened the way to perfect employment. With God’s help, you will be moved from the unsuitable job into the place for which you are eminently suited.

Do not limit yourself by believing that there are closed doors to your good. Do not believe that prosperity and success are not for you, that others get all the breaks and advantages. You are endowed with powers and abilities. You have the gift of God’s Spirit with you and working through you.

You may not realize what your real gift is. There are persons who have been so firmly convinced of what they felt was their talent that it took job changes and disappointments to bring them to the place of open-mindedness where they found their true self and realized what their real gifts and abilities were.

In looking for work, affirm in faith and conviction that God has need of you and that employers have need of you. Give thanks that right now the way is opening to employment for you. Give thanks that every experience you pass through adds to your growth and increases your worth and value.

God’s road is the road to success. Follow God, and do not be discouraged by detours or delays along the way. You are a successful child of God.

You are needed and important. You have something unique to give that no one else can offer. Your gift makes room for you, and God working through your gifts, powers and abilities ensure you your right place, your prosperity, and your sense of happy achievement.

Your need for work can be a turning point, a time not only for a new job, but a new attitude and a new outlook. God can open ways where there seems to be no way.

Now is the time to stir up your belief in God. Now is the time to shake off old negative habits of thoughts and feeling. Do not envy others. Do not daydream. Do not expect to get rich quick without effort. Use the abilities you have and make the most of what you have. You can succeed if you realize the power that God has given you.

If you ever doubt that you are a miracle in creation, take a moment to look at the wonder in your body.

Consider your hands: beneath the skin lies an intricate network of delicate bones and muscles that work in harmony with the brain. Think of the signals which must be set out and the responses which must happen in order for you to do even the simplest thing like punching a phone number into a telephone keypad of the cell phone. Think of the power that you have in your hands to touch another and uplift them.

Your heart and your lungs work 24 hours a day to supply the necessary blood and oxygen, you need. The brain works nonstop – controlling both physical and mental tasks – all with little or no conscious effort from you.

The attention to detail that God gave to your life is evident in you. So consider the wonders of your body and how it performs every day. Within you is the fountain of life, so you must become a fountain for life.

With these gifts that you have been given you must choose to give also. The simplest and perhaps the most profound gift that you can give others is a simple smile.

You create the fountain of life when you smile at another instead of frown. Perhaps there is no other sign in the world that conveys friendship, love and peace in a more universally understood way than a smile.

I was in a foreign country a short time back where I could not speak a word of their language, but I was understood through my smile and I understood their smiles. The smile is a message of acceptance and gladness from one person to another.

Choose this day to be a fountain of life wherever you go. Choose to smile today and let your smiles be an unmistakable statement about the wonder that you are. Show to others that you’re accepting and friendly. Use that miracle hand to reach out and wave to others. Use the miracle of your heart and lungs to empower you to make a difference in other people’s lives.

A simple facial expression becomes a fountain of life. The smile that you pour forth is happy today, uplifting thoughts that you release shining out into the atmosphere around you. It is as though you, you, are opening the window of your soul in order to fully experience the love of God. It is waiting to pour forth through you so that all can experience the wonder.

This day you are a fountain of life!

Do you long for peaceful, harmonious relationships with the people in your home, neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools?

Of course, you do!

Because you want this, you give expression to Divine love in all your relationships. Truly. the Ph.D. of spirituality is to become loving ALL the time.

All love is from God. God’s love empowers you and indwells you. It is yours to express and radiate to each person with whom you associate.

Today, you are kind and courteous – you go the extra mile to be loving and not to react to discord. The harmony of God comes forth from within you, to ease every situation.

You are understanding and considerate, today. You are generous and warmhearted.

Christ’s love enables you to say and do what is most helpful in all your associations with other people.

Today, and every day, you are empowered by God to give expression to the loving Christ. In return, you receive friendly responses and loving cooperation, especially as those around you trust the actions of the “new” you.

The expression of Divine love, in every phase of your life, assures you of harmony and peace in your relationships. Divine love fills you and enriches your interactions with others.

If you find it difficult to be loving and compassionate to any certain person that may have mistreated you or ignored you, through God’s love, you can forgive and love again.

Let us remember that we are all children – inside adult bodies. We make mistakes and we say things that should not have been said, but how sad it would be to lock that child up, forever, in a prison of his or her mistake. We are here in this realm of life to love and to forgive.

Let us remember that Jesus exemplified love and compassion on the cross when he said: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34

Jesus expanded the concept of forgiveness far beyond the understanding that prevailed at the time.

He knew that when people forgive those that hurt them, and have compassion for those who misunderstood them, they would find the sure path to spiritual unfoldment.

Through the personal empowerment of God’s love, you, too, can be loving and considerate and compassionate. You can forgive, readily and completely, when you are open to the inflow and outflow of the loving Christ. God’s love can do things through you, that you cannot do this moment on your own. God’s Love is like the ocean, you can see its beginnings but not its end.

Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.”

Together in this awareness of the one Presence of God, we are going to pray together by first building ourselves in this prayer consciousness and then sending forth this prayer from this room to this tense world that we are living in at the current moment.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We realize as we pray that it is not I, but the Christ who does the works. There is great power in prayer and in what prayer can do through us.

In Proverbs 2:9-10, it states, “Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equality, every good path; for wisdom will come into your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.”

God’s Ideas are generating now inside of you. Spiritual Thought currents, as a fire under a boiler, generate steam. The idea is the most important factor in every act. It must be given first place in our attention if we would bring about any results of a permanent character. We ask for ideas of illumination to fill our own individual minds. God’s Divine Spirit of Truth guides our way. We are inspired to take right action.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

For the world, we know that the God’s Divine Spirit of Truth guides their way. And they are inspired to take right action in harmony, for the good of ALL.

We see right action being taken. We see a peace permeating through every individual mind, through the illumination of God.

We see a health that is happening in the world’s consciousness, not only inside of ourselves and our own body, but the body of all humanity. Because God is everywhere present, there is no lack of health anywhere, in any land or in any body.

Health is the wonderful way of God. How wonderful, how quickly our body responds to thoughts of God’s life and health. We feel a flow of health, instantly, if we hold the right spiritual thoughts.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Just closing our minds to outer things and holding the thought that we are now perfect manifestations of the Divine Creator will often heal our body of its illnesses. Disease (dis – ease) is not natural. We must let it go. Relax into the ease of God. Let God’s Spirit carry on its perfect work in us. All at once, evil or sick conditions disappear, and we are whole.

For ourselves, we affirm that God’s Divine Spirit of health radiates through our bodies. We are well and strong. And there is a health in the world that is radiating the presence of God health throughout our world. We are well, and we are strong. Each of us, spiritually holding hands and walking together in the same world consciousness.

Through God’s Spirit of Truth, God moves the whole Creation. Hence, any human may constantly increase his or her understanding of the Source and the relation of all things by claiming their unity with the Spirit of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We claim our unity and our oneness with God. We ask that we are each lights, beacons, broadcasting stations of uplifting, positive, spiritual consciousness to go out from this building and to surround our world with love. We ask people of like mind, of all religions, to join us in the thought of love. This is the true prosperity, an increase, an expansion in conscious awareness of God. We know that God’s Spirit of prosperity fills our minds, fills their minds, with productive ideas.

I am successful, and they are successful. We are successful in America and all other countries are successful. We walk together in that success. We are a part of all that is good, and they are a part of all that is good.

In this moment of tense conditions, we affirm with great consciousness that there is nothing to fear. We trust God in all that concerns us. God is our strength, the only strength.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

It is not financial might, but it is spiritual consciousness might. A consciousness of a oneness with God and a oneness with people around the earth. We are not afraid because we walk hand in hand with God, in love.

We decree in this hour that there is a holy help that is permeating the earth and everyone therein. There is a condition of peace.

All weather conditions now call forth peace. Peace rains throughout the earth. Ideas from God’s Divine Mind flood the minds of all humans everywhere telling of a new day with glorious open doors of possibilities.

We affirm together in the one consciousness of the one spiritual Power that God’s Divine love fills the hearts of all people, establishing peace, establishing understanding, harmony, and trust in the entire world.

The light of God surrounds us in the world climate. The love of God enfolds us in this world climate. The power of God protects us, each one of us, in this world climate. The presence of God infills each one of us and watches over each one of us. Wherever we are, wherever they are, God is.

Hold to this consciousness. Do not sway from it – the power of Jesus Christ.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

As a child of God, you are a manifestation of Divine love. It is filling your heart. It is establishing peace. Thoughts of peace, thoughts of understanding, thoughts of harmony, and thoughts of trust permeate your mind.

Each one of us, as we pray together, realizes that as we pray together, the Christ Spirit is here, the living Presence of Jesus Christ.

We know there is God’s Divine love that will fill the hearts of all people everywhere, establish peace everywhere, establish understanding everywhere, establish harmony everywhere, and establish trust everywhere in the world.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen.

A “fool” could be defined as a person who becomes overly tense and anxious about some need or situation without going to God.

If we are honest, all of us have been “fools” at some time or another. If we take a moment away from our busy, rat-race lives, close our eyes, and rest in the silence – there we will find God.

Bless yourself with these words:

“Be still. Be still. Be still. Be still and know that I am God.”

You will find restoration and renewal in stillness. You will find freedom from anxiety in stillness. In stillness, you will find peace, relaxation, and ease of mind and body.

In any healing need, speak these words: “Be still. Be still. Be still. Be still and know that I am God. Be still and know that I am the life that heals. Be still and know that healing is taking place. Be still and know that I am God, that I am life.”

If there is a pressing financial need, you say these words to yourself: “Be still. Be still. Be still. Be still and know that I am God. I am the source of your supply. I am the fountain of abundance, endlessly flowing.

Be still. Be still. Be still. Be still and know that I am God. In Me, your every need is met.”

“As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? See My hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch Me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
Luke 24:36-39

He is risen! Jesus did not die on the cross, at least not in the way that we perceive death. It was not the end, but another beginning. He lives!

A minister once said, “He made the greatest comeback in history.”

I have a challenge for you. Look through the four gospels of the Bible to try to find a funeral service that Jesus preached.

Before you look hard, I will tell you that you can look through all four gospels, through the entire three years of His ministry – and even before – and you will never find one time that Jesus taught or preached a funeral sermon. He broke up every funeral He ever attended; He told everyone there was more, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
John 11:25-26

One of the most mysterious things in our Holy Bible is the sentence in First Corinthians. In chapter 15, verse 26, it says, “The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” Do you know why? Because as you, or your loved ones pass over the threshold we call death, the enemy you have been thinking about as the end of your physical body, you’ll say: “This isn’t the end at all! This is just another beginning. I knew that Jesus could do it because He proved that He could, but I’m surprised that I can do it too!”

Death is not a period, but a comma in life.

You’ll find the death is not the end at all, but a continuation and another beginning for you and those you love.

Nearly all of us have experienced loss. Perhaps at this time of the year we are thinking about that dear one we lost and we feel sadness. But I challenge you to be like Mary outside the tomb and realize that life is continuing. Allow Jesus this Easter – as no other Easter in your life – to be the first fruit of your knowledge and belief of continuing life. It will give you great, great comfort. It is a knowledge that will fortify you.

When Jesus was on the cross, there were many Roman centurions there. One stood at His feet and looked at His face and saw compassion and love for Him there. The Roman centurion realized that, truly, this was God’s son. And truly He was!

The words of Jesus in Matthew 28:20 are a promise to each of us today, “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

For Easter the emphasis shouldn’t be on that He died for us, or even that He IS living for us, BUT – ON US – LIVING FOR HIM!

Instead of getting sidetracked by the busyness of the day, I use these beloved images of Easter to remind me of the life of Jesus Christ.

It was the life of a message of the potential of the human race. It was the life of a theology of love, forgiveness, and all-inclusiveness.

It is an active theology of love that lives with Jesus instead of the old concept of “an eye for an eye.”

Jesus Christ lives a theology telling you that you are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. He came to uplift humanity and tell them of their potential as children of God.

His story has been called the greatest story ever told – and it is – because it is the story of not only of Jesus Christ, but his vision for each of us. Jesus Christ came to lift women and men out of self-imposed bondage, so that they could be set spiritually free.

This Easter, we are the spiritual pilgrims who come to worship at the temple.

We celebrate His life, and we celebrate our own rebirth of belief in what we can do as a child of God. We do have a new life in our awareness of God every time we consent to going higher through prayer, and then in our thinking and actions.

We ask ourselves this Easter, what would Jesus do? And we act accordingly.

I decree with undoubting faith, and acceptance:
Dear God, today, I remember and I praise the presence of Jesus Christ in my life, and in my Easter adventures.
I worship within myself by doing what Jesus Christ told me I could do and become.
I become “a sample of the great example.”
I celebrate the life of Jesus that continues this day. I vow to hold on to my belief.
I vow to have PEACE, because He has peace that can still a storm.
I vow to be LOVE, because He tells me this is the greatest commandment.
I vow to be JOYFUL, because He is joyful, and not plagued by the pressures and stress. I refuse to be brought down by the personal plagues of humanity.
I will live this day as if I am re-born (a new person) with the excitement, joy, and expectation of a child.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to God’s great mercy, God has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
1 Peter 1:3

We pray that you have a glorious Easter weekend, and we pray that it was just as much a celebration for every member of your family, especially the children.

When I was in a regular church ministry, after all the Easter week’s six services were complete, we would go across from the church to an area about 10 acres in size, where we would have a massive Easter egg hunt.

I cannot tell you the joy that we all felt while watching the little children, dressed up in their finest clothes, searching for the colored Easter eggs.

One year we gave the children wisdom from the Easter Bunny.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

Good things come in small packages.

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

There’s no such thing as too much candy.

Keep your paws off other people’s jellybeans.

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.

All work and no play can make you a basket case.

The grass is always greener in someone else’s basket.

To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell.

Kids don’t care if some of your body parts are floppy.

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.

This Easter, there are many beautiful displays of crosses in churches around the world.

The cross that I prefer is the empty cross. I believe this is the way crosses are meant to stand on Easter morning.

The whole message of Easter morning is the miracle that occurred. We need to take Jesus down from the cross, and realize He has risen, and begin to follow Him, and His teachings.

It takes courage to take Jesus down from the cross, because then we must look to Him, and what He said. Perhaps in doing this, it will make the miracle that happened over 2000 years ago come alive in our lives this Easter.

The Bible is a book of miracles. A miracle is defined as a natural event, but something we think is slightly out of our reach. On almost every page of the Bible, there are possibilities for you that we now call miracles.

In the 18th-century the United States Congress issued a special edition of the Bible called the Thomas Jefferson Bible.

What made it different was that it had the miracles deleted. What remained were just the moral teachings of Jesus.

The closing words of the Thomas Jefferson Bible are: “There laid they Jesus and rolled a great stone at the mouth of the sepulchre and departed.”

Thank God OUR Bible continues on to tell us He is risen!

We celebrate Easter because it is the death of death, through the death of Jesus Christ.

In olden times, every year in the Spring the high priest of the temple would conduct a prayer service in which the first fruits of the field would be waived in front of the crowds at the temple. Why would the first fruits of the field be included in prayer?

Because they were representative of what was to come from the barely seen stubbles in the fields; they were a specimen, a representative, a pattern. But more than that, they were a pledge of all the rest. In dying on the cross and resurrecting, Jesus was continuing to teach as He taught every day, teaching us that there is more to death than we can see with our physical eyes.

This story is told of Michelangelo many years ago. He visited all the great art galleries in Europe and became quite distressed. He saw picture after picture, literally hundreds of pictures, all depicting Christ dying on the cross. He knew the death experience of Jesus lasted only a short while. But to the end of unending eternity, Christ is alive. Christ rules and reigns and triumphs.

Luke:23

1 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.”
3 So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
4 Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
5 But they insisted, “He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
6 On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time.
8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort.
9 He plied him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.
10 The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing him.
11 Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe, they sent him back to Pilate.
12 That day Herod and Pilate became friends – before this they had been enemies.
13 Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people,
14 and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him.
15 Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us; as you can see, he has done nothing to deserve death.
16 Therefore, I will punish him and then release him.”
17 Now he was obliged to release to them at the feast one prisoner.
18 But the whole crowd shouted, “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”
19 (Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
20 Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again.
21 But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!”
22 For the third time he spoke to them: “Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.”
23 But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed.
24 So Pilate decided to grant their demand.
25 He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will.

The Crucifixion of Jesus

26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.
27 A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him.
28 Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’
30 Then “‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”‘
31 For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.
33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left.
34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
35 The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”
36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar
37 and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”
38 There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?
41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
The Death of Jesus

44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,
45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”
48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away.
49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
The Burial of Jesus

50 Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man,
51 who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God.
52 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body.
53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid.
54 It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.
55 The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.
56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.
Why do they call Good Friday “good” when it was the day that Jesus was crucified? To all appearances it was the end. To all human senses the worst of humankind seemed to be victorious … AND YET THERE WAS MORE!

It was just the darkness before the dawn – The dawn of awakened humanity.

Jesus rose as he said he would. Jesus was not confined to the tomb. Jesus lives, and his teachings live, because of what happened on Easter weekend.

Many of us have Good Friday experiences in our own lives when we believe all is lost. Then we look to God, and our lives are resurrected into newness. There is new hope and new belief in tomorrow and new gladness to be alive.

Many of you are going through your own personal resurrections, today. Some of you have been fired. Some of you have gone through downsizing. Some people reading this have lost trust in someone they trusted in so much. Some have been facing divorce or the death of a loved one. Some of those reading this no longer see their children and they feel a crucifixion every time they think of their children. Some are having creditors beating down the doors of their inner peace.

Most of you have gone through your own crucifixions in the past and hopefully you have discovered the good that the Good Friday truth brings – that there is life after seeming death. We are Easter people. We are defined more by our resurrections than by our crucifixions.

I wish you a happy Good Friday in knowledge of a loving God that is everywhere present, accessible, and available to you now. No matter where you may be or what you may face.

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:37-39

It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman, in his 80’s, presented to have sutures (stitches) removed from his thumb.

He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and to redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for awhile and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease.

As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised and asked him. “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?”

He smiled as he patted my hand and said … “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arms, and thought, “That is the kind of love I want in my life.”

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

Today, I am excited because I am preparing to have a God blessed day. I am going to cooperate with God, listen to God, and follow God’s leading.

Today is going to be a great day.

Just as God is in charge of nature, with evidence of Divine beauty everywhere, God is also in charge of your life – if you let God.

Are you concerned because some matter is taking longer to reach resolution than you expected? Have you been anxious because of the manner in which it is being resolved? Have you felt that it was up to you alone to figure out the answer to every question and every need?

On this beautiful day, it is a day to alleviate stress-producing feelings of undue personal responsibility. Today is the day to know that God is in charge of your life and all the circumstances of your life and that all things are working together for good. Not just some things, or at some times, but all things, at ALL times.

You do not try to force your personal will. You yield to God’s will, which is always the highest and best for everyone.

You use and prove your faith. You let God be in charge; you let God give the answers. You cooperate with God; you cooperate with people and situations; you cooperate with life, instead of fighting it.

Your body, your mind, and your emotions are benefited greatly by setting aside specific times for prayer. If you are a businesswoman or man, write on your calendar, specific appointment times to go to God in prayer.

These quiet times are important, especially when daily activities seem to be filled with hustle and bustle.

To your regularly scheduled prayer periods, and another delightful and valuable kind of prayer, you can use “instant prayers.” It only takes a few seconds to think of positive thoughts, to know that God is present and active in some situation, to behold the presence of God in someone’s life, to let love flow from our hearts to encircle another.

The next time something unexpected happens, or when there is in need of any sort, pray an instant prayer and see how quickly harmony is restored, and how quickly the presence of God is realized.

Remember what Jesus told you in Matthew 21:22, “Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
