“As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? See My hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch Me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
Luke 24:36-39

He is risen! Jesus did not die on the cross, at least not in the way that we perceive death. It was not the end, but another beginning. He lives!

A minister once said, “He made the greatest comeback in history.”

I have a challenge for you. Look through the four gospels of the Bible to try to find a funeral service that Jesus preached.

Before you look hard, I will tell you that you can look through all four gospels, through the entire three years of His ministry – and even before – and you will never find one time that Jesus taught or preached a funeral sermon. He broke up every funeral He ever attended; He told everyone there was more, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
John 11:25-26

One of the most mysterious things in our Holy Bible is the sentence in First Corinthians. In chapter 15, verse 26, it says, “The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” Do you know why? Because as you, or your loved ones pass over the threshold we call death, the enemy you have been thinking about as the end of your physical body, you’ll say: “This isn’t the end at all! This is just another beginning. I knew that Jesus could do it because He proved that He could, but I’m surprised that I can do it too!”

Death is not a period, but a comma in life.

You’ll find the death is not the end at all, but a continuation and another beginning for you and those you love.

Nearly all of us have experienced loss. Perhaps at this time of the year we are thinking about that dear one we lost and we feel sadness. But I challenge you to be like Mary outside the tomb and realize that life is continuing. Allow Jesus this Easter – as no other Easter in your life – to be the first fruit of your knowledge and belief of continuing life. It will give you great, great comfort. It is a knowledge that will fortify you.

When Jesus was on the cross, there were many Roman centurions there. One stood at His feet and looked at His face and saw compassion and love for Him there. The Roman centurion realized that, truly, this was God’s son. And truly He was!

The words of Jesus in Matthew 28:20 are a promise to each of us today, “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

For Easter the emphasis shouldn’t be on that He died for us, or even that He IS living for us, BUT – ON US – LIVING FOR HIM!

Instead of getting sidetracked by the busyness of the day, I use these beloved images of Easter to remind me of the life of Jesus Christ.

It was the life of a message of the potential of the human race. It was the life of a theology of love, forgiveness, and all-inclusiveness.

It is an active theology of love that lives with Jesus instead of the old concept of “an eye for an eye.”

Jesus Christ lives a theology telling you that you are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. He came to uplift humanity and tell them of their potential as children of God.

His story has been called the greatest story ever told – and it is – because it is the story of not only of Jesus Christ, but his vision for each of us. Jesus Christ came to lift women and men out of self-imposed bondage, so that they could be set spiritually free.

This Easter, we are the spiritual pilgrims who come to worship at the temple.

We celebrate His life, and we celebrate our own rebirth of belief in what we can do as a child of God. We do have a new life in our awareness of God every time we consent to going higher through prayer, and then in our thinking and actions.

We ask ourselves this Easter, what would Jesus do? And we act accordingly.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I decree with undoubting faith, and acceptance:
Dear God, today, I remember and I praise the presence of Jesus Christ in my life, and in my Easter adventures.
I worship within myself by doing what Jesus Christ told me I could do and become.
I become “a sample of the great example.”
I celebrate the life of Jesus that continues this day. I vow to hold on to my belief.
I vow to have PEACE, because He has peace that can still a storm.
I vow to be LOVE, because He tells me this is the greatest commandment.
I vow to be JOYFUL, because He is joyful, and not plagued by the pressures and stress. I refuse to be brought down by the personal plagues of humanity.
I will live this day as if I am re-born (a new person) with the excitement, joy, and expectation of a child.
In Jesus Christ’s name (name means nature) … Amen
POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

My life is a joy filled with delightful surprises.

POSITIVE DAILY QUOTE:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to God’s great mercy, God has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
1 Peter 1:3

We pray that you have a glorious Easter weekend, and we pray that it was just as much a celebration for every member of your family, especially the children.

When I was in a regular church ministry, after all the Easter week’s six services were complete, we would go across from the church to an area about 10 acres in size, where we would have a massive Easter egg hunt.

I cannot tell you the joy that we all felt while watching the little children, dressed up in their finest clothes, searching for the colored Easter eggs.

One year we gave the children wisdom from the Easter Bunny.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

Good things come in small packages.

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

There’s no such thing as too much candy.

Keep your paws off other people’s jellybeans.

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.

All work and no play can make you a basket case.

The grass is always greener in someone else’s basket.

To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell.

Kids don’t care if some of your body parts are floppy.

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.

This Easter, there are many beautiful displays of crosses in churches around the world.

The cross that I prefer is the empty cross. I believe this is the way crosses are meant to stand on Easter morning.

The whole message of Easter morning is the miracle that occurred. We need to take Jesus down from the cross, and realize He has risen, and begin to follow Him, and His teachings.

It takes courage to take Jesus down from the cross, because then we must look to Him, and what He said. Perhaps in doing this, it will make the miracle that happened over 2000 years ago come alive in our lives this Easter.

The Bible is a book of miracles. A miracle is defined as a natural event, but something we think is slightly out of our reach. On almost every page of the Bible, there are possibilities for you that we now call miracles.

In the 18th-century the United States Congress issued a special edition of the Bible called the Thomas Jefferson Bible.

What made it different was that it had the miracles deleted. What remained were just the moral teachings of Jesus.

The closing words of the Thomas Jefferson Bible are: “There laid they Jesus and rolled a great stone at the mouth of the sepulchre and departed.”

Thank God OUR Bible continues on to tell us He is risen!

We celebrate Easter because it is the death of death, through the death of Jesus Christ.

In olden times, every year in the Spring the high priest of the temple would conduct a prayer service in which the first fruits of the field would be waived in front of the crowds at the temple. Why would the first fruits of the field be included in prayer?

Because they were representative of what was to come from the barely seen stubbles in the fields; they were a specimen, a representative, a pattern. But more than that, they were a pledge of all the rest. In dying on the cross and resurrecting, Jesus was continuing to teach as He taught every day, teaching us that there is more to death than we can see with our physical eyes.

This story is told of Michelangelo many years ago. He visited all the great art galleries in Europe and became quite distressed. He saw picture after picture, literally hundreds of pictures, all depicting Christ dying on the cross. He knew the death experience of Jesus lasted only a short while. But to the end of unending eternity, Christ is alive. Christ rules and reigns and triumphs.

Luke:23

1 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.”
3 So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
4 Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
5 But they insisted, “He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
6 On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time.
8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort.
9 He plied him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.
10 The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing him.
11 Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe, they sent him back to Pilate.
12 That day Herod and Pilate became friends – before this they had been enemies.
13 Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people,
14 and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him.
15 Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us; as you can see, he has done nothing to deserve death.
16 Therefore, I will punish him and then release him.”
17 Now he was obliged to release to them at the feast one prisoner.
18 But the whole crowd shouted, “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”
19 (Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
20 Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again.
21 But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!”
22 For the third time he spoke to them: “Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.”
23 But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed.
24 So Pilate decided to grant their demand.
25 He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will.

The Crucifixion of Jesus

26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.
27 A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him.
28 Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’
30 Then “‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”‘
31 For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.
33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left.
34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
35 The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”
36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar
37 and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”
38 There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?
41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
The Death of Jesus

44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,
45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”
48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away.
49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
The Burial of Jesus

50 Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man,
51 who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God.
52 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body.
53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid.
54 It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.
55 The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.
56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.
Why do they call Good Friday “good” when it was the day that Jesus was crucified? To all appearances it was the end. To all human senses the worst of humankind seemed to be victorious … AND YET THERE WAS MORE!

It was just the darkness before the dawn – The dawn of awakened humanity.

Jesus rose as he said he would. Jesus was not confined to the tomb. Jesus lives, and his teachings live, because of what happened on Easter weekend.

Many of us have Good Friday experiences in our own lives when we believe all is lost. Then we look to God, and our lives are resurrected into newness. There is new hope and new belief in tomorrow and new gladness to be alive.

Many of you are going through your own personal resurrections, today. Some of you have been fired. Some of you have gone through downsizing. Some people reading this have lost trust in someone they trusted in so much. Some have been facing divorce or the death of a loved one. Some of those reading this no longer see their children and they feel a crucifixion every time they think of their children. Some are having creditors beating down the doors of their inner peace.

Most of you have gone through your own crucifixions in the past and hopefully you have discovered the good that the Good Friday truth brings – that there is life after seeming death. We are Easter people. We are defined more by our resurrections than by our crucifixions.

I wish you a happy Good Friday in knowledge of a loving God that is everywhere present, accessible, and available to you now. No matter where you may be or what you may face.

LOVE THAT IS TRUE

──────────── • ● • ────────────

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:37-39

It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman, in his 80’s, presented to have sutures (stitches) removed from his thumb.

He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and to redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for awhile and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease.

As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised and asked him. “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?”

He smiled as he patted my hand and said … “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arms, and thought, “That is the kind of love I want in my life.”

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

COOPERATING WITH GOD

──────────── • ● • ────────────

“In EVERYTHING God works for good.”
Romans 8:28

Today, I am excited because I am preparing to have a God blessed day. I am going to cooperate with God, listen to God, and follow God’s leading.

Today is going to be a great day.

Just as God is in charge of nature, with evidence of Divine beauty everywhere, God is also in charge of your life – if you let God.

Are you concerned because some matter is taking longer to reach resolution than you expected? Have you been anxious because of the manner in which it is being resolved? Have you felt that it was up to you alone to figure out the answer to every question and every need?

On this beautiful day, it is a day to alleviate stress-producing feelings of undue personal responsibility. Today is the day to know that God is in charge of your life and all the circumstances of your life and that all things are working together for good. Not just some things, or at some times, but all things, at ALL times.

You do not try to force your personal will. You yield to God’s will, which is always the highest and best for everyone.

You use and prove your faith. You let God be in charge; you let God give the answers. You cooperate with God; you cooperate with people and situations; you cooperate with life, instead of fighting it.

Your body, your mind, and your emotions are benefited greatly by setting aside specific times for prayer. If you are a businesswoman or man, write on your calendar, specific appointment times to go to God in prayer.

These quiet times are important, especially when daily activities seem to be filled with hustle and bustle.

To your regularly scheduled prayer periods, and another delightful and valuable kind of prayer, you can use “instant prayers.” It only takes a few seconds to think of positive thoughts, to know that God is present and active in some situation, to behold the presence of God in someone’s life, to let love flow from our hearts to encircle another.

The next time something unexpected happens, or when there is in need of any sort, pray an instant prayer and see how quickly harmony is restored, and how quickly the presence of God is realized.

Remember what Jesus told you in Matthew 21:22, “Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

And he said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.”
Mark 16:6

In this moment of prayer, we join with, and follow Jesus Christ by turning our thoughts to prayer.

Jesus taught us many things in His ministry, especially about the power each of us has within. By following His example, we learn how to tap into this power and use it in our daily lives.

During this Easter prayer time, let us center ourselves in the Christ power. The power of the Christ is unlimited. In this awareness, we relax by taking a deep breath. As we breathe in, we feel the energy of God filling us. As we breathe out, we let go of any concern.

As we enter into this prayer time, our minds are free and our bodies are relaxed. Our hearts are open and willing, and we are strong and secure. The power of the Christ restores and resurrects you. You give thanks for this power, knowing it is greater than any challenge you face.

With an awareness of the Christ deep within your soul, affirm silently with me: The resurrecting power of the Christ fills my soul with peace. The Christ is our security. The Christ guides you, restores order in your life, uplifts you, and encourages you.

You open yourself to the new experiences that the Christ offers. These experiences, simple as a new idea or helpful as a right answer, are your guidance and your assurance that you are following the right path.

Jesus said, Follow me. We follow Jesus Christ’s example on this Easter morning as we trust in the power of God. We are not anxious about when or how our answers will come. The Christ is our answer.

In an awareness of the Christ helping us with the decisions and choices in our lives, we affirm silently our prayer for guidance: The resurrecting power of the Christ illumines the path before me.

Now we pray for healing. Our bodies are sacred temples filled with the power of the Christ. As you sit in this room, you feel healing power surging through you. You are energized and strengthened.

In the quiet of this moment, you are aware of the rhythm of your breathing and the beating of your heart. This rhythm is the rhythm of life–the encompassing life of which you are a part.

Aware of this rhythm, you attune yourself to the healing power of Christ. The Christ power is loving and healing. It is always within you. It is ready right now to restore, strengthen, and resurrect each cell.

As we trust in the Christ, peace fills our hearts. As we sit in peace, we are confident that healing is taking place. The resurrecting power of Christ restores me to wholeness. Affirm this Truth for yourself and believe …

As our prayer time draws to a close, we feel resurrection in faith, and we feel continued strength and peace knowing that the Christ power abides with us and within us every day.

In Jesus Christ’s name … Amen.

JUSTICE

“Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.”
Psalms 54:4

You do not resign yourself today to believing that any appearance of the injustice is permanent. Rather, you cultivate a spiritual reliance on God, and on God’s unlimited provision of justice and order in your life.

Your faith in God is a tower of strength and stability that enables you to remain poised in the midst of any discussion or confusion. You trust in God, implicitly, to right every wrong, to dissolve every misunderstanding, and to heal every hurt.

You remain unwavering in your belief that God is present and active at all times and in all situations.

You do not doubt that God’s good will be established, for you acknowledge your oneness with God. You rest secure in the truth that God, inevitably and invariably, sets all things right and blesses all people. God’s Law of love and justice is actively bringing about justice and right outcomes, for you and everyone concerned. God is working on your behalf, even when you sleep, and all is well, because your justice is from God.

Divine justice is not something that is reserved for a special few. God’s justice is available to you and to us all. Therefore, let us always be aware of our expectations – what we think we deserve or will receive.

Are we expecting to be treated fairly?

Are we prepared to receive the good justice that we are truly open to?

Our responsibility is to believe that we are deserving of justice. We have the Divine right to be treated fairly and the Divine responsibility to treat others fairly.

God’s justice is being expressed through us when we behold all people as beloved children of God. In this way, we are acknowledging that everyone is worthy of just treatment.

We are all beloved children of God. God cares for and about each one of us. As we hold to this realization, justice will constantly manifest itself in our lives.

In Jesus Christ Name … Amen

THE FOUR MIRACLES OF PALM SUNDAY

Luke 19:29-38 reads “When He had come near Bethphage and Bethany, at a place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples, saying, ‘Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ Just say this, ‘The Lord needs it.’ So those who were sent departed and found it as he had told them.

“As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, ‘Why are you untying the colt?’ They said, ‘The Lord needs it.’ Then they brought it back to Jesus; and after throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.

“As he rode along, people kept spreading Palms on the road as a way to honor Him. As He was now approaching the path down from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the deeds of power that they had seen, saying, ‘Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!'”

Palm Sunday is an important day in Christianity, and it’s important for us to look at it for the lessons it contains.

Palm Sunday is the day that Jesus made his triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the back of an unridden donkey. People along the way waved palm branches in welcome shouting “Hosanna – blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord”. They laid those palm branches as a sort of “red carpet” for His animal to walk on. Our desire to follow Jesus must contain more than following the physical man of Jesus Christ. We must honor Him by living His teachings in our own daily lives.

THE FIRST MIRACLE: CONFIDENCE

Riding a donkey into Jerusalem instead of a magnificent white horse, or golden chariot, shows confidence. This would be like the president of the United States coming into New York City and riding in a ticker tape parade down Broadway in an old dirty used car. This would take great inner confidence instead of an outer show of power, and flash.

This was confidence beyond normal human confidence. He rode the path in humility. There was no self-need to build Himself up through an outer show of flash or force. He was confident because He was one with God. There is no greater confidence than oneness with God. No matter what you face in life, if you are one with God, you can face it without a need to prove yourself to others, or uplift yourself through outer things. You do not need outer proof because inside of you is the unshakable, unbreakable, undeniable confidence in an unfailing God.

1 John 4:4 shouts through time loudly, “You are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is God that is in you than he that is in the world.”

THE SECOND MIRACLE: ADVANCE KNOWING

Jesus knew in advance what the disciples would find. Anyone that is connected with God is able to see and sense with more than human eyes and human mind. You are guided IN ADVANCE, and ahead of time, instead of after the fact. You know what to do, where to go, and when, AHEAD OF TIME.

THE THIRD MIRACLE:

Riding an unridden, untamed colt while mastering and calming the animal instantly. He wasn’t bucked off, or thrown.

A miracle happened that day when Jesus successfully sat on the unridden donkey and, that he could guide and ride on that unridden donkey through shouting crowds, pressing-in crowds, and crowds waving palm branches.

The crowds laid the unfamiliar palm branches on the path below the wild animal’s feet, an act of itself that would normally cause great instability and insecurity within the animal.

This clearly shows the power of the Christ over a lower animal nature that would ordinarily buck and try to throw off its rider.

We follow Jesus by allowing the Christ in us to ride over our own lower animal natures. The Christ within us can tame and bring peace to our wildest lower animal natures. Christ power can override, and successfully ride that lower self through any harmful environment or negative peer group pressures that, before, would have swayed us back to a way of life that the lower self wallows in.

Do you have a bad habit that needs to be overridden? Then allow the Christ within you to override it. The Christ will successfully ride and tame addictions of the lower animal self to alcohol or drugs. The Christ will ride and tame angers or unforgiveness. No matter how the lower self in you defines and self identifies itself, the Christ within you can override and tame its lower destructive ways.

No matter where you go, the Christ power goes with you, protecting you from future temptations. You will be blessed inside of yourself and by people all around you because you come in the name (which means nature) of the Lord.

God’s peace can calm wild situations or people instantly. God can ride and tame those areas that are out of control in us and show us how to take the reins to master our lives.

THE FOURTH MIRACLE:

The multitude recognizing and honoring the process.

As you allow God to enter into your mind and body, the multitude of thoughts in you pay honor to the entrance of peace, love, and the happiness that God brings. You too will throw flowers and wave palms. But the Divine can never be contained just within you. It overflows from you, and all will see, recognize the change in you, and be benefited by God’s work and the miracles produced.

I pray that you have a personal Palm Sunday experience of God’s taming your animal side and Christ’s being welcomed by the multitude of thought inside of your mind, and the multitudes of people around you, in your home, workplace, and life.

I pray you are blessed by God on this Palm Sunday.

(Submitted with our great thanks)

“Let your heart hold fast my words … Get wisdom; get insight.”
Proverbs 4:4-5

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The King’s 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, “I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I’ll be all alone.” Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?” “No way!” replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?” “No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is too good! When you die, I’m going to remarry!” His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, “I have always turned to you for help and you’ve always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?” “I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only send you to your grave.” Her answer came like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: “I’ll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go.” The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was so skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King said, “I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!”

In truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives: Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends.

No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave. And our 1st wife is our Soul, often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world.

However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go. So cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of us who will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us throughout Eternity.

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don’t you think?

And we often treat strangers and co-workers better than members of our family.

Positive Daily Inspiration – March 22, 2024 – HARMONY

Positive Daily Inspiration - March 22, 2024
HARMONY

a gift from www.PositiveChristianity.net

──────────── • ● • ────────────

“Let us then pursue what makes for peace.”
Romans 14:19

When God’s great Harmony takes over in your life, everything changes. Harmonious relations with others are important. We are all children of God, meant to live together in peace, and to help each other in love and understanding.

If dis-harmony exists between you and another person, this week, you work to restore harmony. You speak words, directed by God, and you take actions, guided by God, to set things right. You may be asking for forgiveness or extending it.

You turn to God, in prayer, and ask for the wisdom and the courage to do what needs to be done.

There are also these things that you can do inwardly.

You send your silent blessing.
You behold the Christ loving and helping the other person.
You communicate a friendly, open spirit.

You pray for God to show you how to be the loving, harmonious child of God’s creation.

As you release hurt feelings and take steps that promote peace, you maintain harmony within yourself, which is where it must begin. You also make yourself a channel through which God’s love flows to enrich every relationship in your life.

You know that God’s plan for you is good. When a difficult situation occurs in your life, you choose to see it as an opportunity for growth, rather than as a difficult challenge.

Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

You may tend to view your life in small portions – as just the ups and downs of life. However, you know that the entire picture of your life is patterned on God’s plan of good and harmony.

It is especially important to bless the circumstances and people who seem to be causing problems for you. As you continually bless your life – calling forth the action of the harmony of God – you grow through challenges and experience God’s love in greater proportions than ever before.

God has a Divine plan for your life, just as God has a Divine plan for everyone’s life. You are now guided according to that perfect plan. You give thanks for God’s guidance and rejoice in the knowledge that God’s plan for your life is filled with harmonious good.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

God empowers,

God surrounds,
God infills,
right now.

God radiates forth from me, clearing my way. My way is paved with the love of God.

Nothing but good awaits me and mine. My problem dissipates now before the radiant life of God. My mind, my body, in all circumstances, our plans, renewed, and regenerated into newness of life.

In Jesus Christ name … Amen

POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATION:

I am a member of God’s universal family.
