“NOW is the acceptable time.”
2 Corinthians 6:2

Today, decide to put God first in your every thought. Putting God first in human thought does not allow for worry or fear. You think about God and Divine possibilities instead of your problem.

Trying to relive the past or predict what will happen in the future can keep you from enjoying this present moment. Therefore, you make a commitment to live in the now, secure in the knowledge that God is in charge and all is well.

If ever you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by the complexities of your life, you remember that you can live only one day at a time. You know you have the faith, strength, and courage to turn any challenge into an opportunity for spiritual growth. You also know that God knows the way through your challenges even though you may be clueless as to how to proceed.

You do not allow any memories on this Thursday to stand in the way of the good that is offered today by God. You let go of the past and open the door to new good. You do your best and leave the rest to God.

You think thoughts that are positive and uplifting. Such thoughts fill your day with joy and act as a magnet that draws good experiences to you.

If activities seem to go out of control today, how can you still remain calm? You can do so through prayer – by centering yourself in the peace of God.

The best way to remain centered in the calm of God is to set aside time today for spiritual communion with God. Prayer and meditation take you back to God, the source of your life. While resting in the silence of prayer, you are immersed in God’s love. Your thoughts are calmed. Centered in the peace of God, you see your way clearly, and you come away from this time refreshed and renewed.

When you center yourself in prayer, you are living in the now-moment in the presence of God. Daily communion with God keeps you grounded in peace, tranquility, and calm. Through prayer, you make conscious contact with God on this Thursday. On this Thursday you not only feel at peace, but you also radiate peace.

I even have a sign in my office that says in bold letters GOD FIRST! I invite you to make such a sign to remind you to place God first in your every thought, action and reaction. This sign reminds me that it is not Chris Chenoweth’s thought that is first, BUT God’s thought that must be placed at the forefront of my life every day. When I look back on my life, what I considered at the time, were good thoughts and ideas that would have led to greater problems in my life had I acted on my thinking alone. Thank God I made the decision back then to put God first.

This Thursday can be incredible if you decide to do the same.

SPIRITUAL MONEY MANAGEMENT

“The blessing of the Lord makes rich.”
Proverbs 10:22

Years ago I prayed to God for money management skills. I didn’t seem to be having much success in keeping to my budget or in having anything left over for savings.

Wisdom, love, and good judgment in handling one’s money and affairs are as necessary as an increase in income. Often good money management skills are more necessary than bringing in more money. Many people are addicted to impulse buying. Buying something that you really don’t need has a long- term adverse affect especially when it’s an accumulative habit. Using credit cards to satisfy this addiction is very harmful to peace of mind and quality of life. Soon, the possessions possess you.

A good habit to form is the habit of blessing and giving thanks to God for every amount of money that comes into our hands, no matter how small or how large. The next step is to bless ourselves in the thought that we have the capability of using it wisely. As we pay our bills, as we buy groceries and other necessities for our daily life, we place a blessing of God upon every bill and every expenditure. As we share what we have, we know that what we are giving is multiplied and increased by Divine love.

This day you will have order in all of your affairs, freedom from anxiety, freedom from worry, and more than enough supply for every need if you change your money management from your human desires to God’s perfect plan. God provides adequate supply for your every need before you need it. As you use God’s wisdom, love and good judgment in handling your money and affairs, you will open the way for increasing supply to flow to you and through you.

If you have made a lot of mistakes in the past, God can help and bring to you people that can help repair and restore your financial standing. Nothing is impossible with God. We hear from people every day who are now debt-free through using these principles. Many of our “Positive Daily Inspiration” subscribers report they have manifested their dreams through good spiritual planning.

This is the dawn of a new day in your spiritual life.

Like birds that sing to celebrate the break of day, we sing a song of praise as we celebrate this new dawn in spiritual consciousness. Our song is one of peace, prosperity, and love. It is a song of harmony, as we unite our hearts in this time of prayer.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

In Your loving presence, God, every moment is a new beginning. I am filled with Your life and Your love. Before each new dawn, the earth is peaceful and calm.

As I begin my prayer time, I, too, am peaceful and calm.

This is my quiet time. It is a time to regenerate and reflect. It is my time to relax and to peacefully and joyously experience the dawn of a new day in spirit, a new day in faith.

I take a deep breath and I release. I relax, aware of God’s sacred presence. I am peaceful, relaxed, and confident. I gently release the questions of my heart, trusting the answers I seek to be there. For God is there. God, You are the true light. I have faith in You, God, to gently guide me and those I care about.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Right now, in prayer, I experience a new dawn, a greater understanding of my spirituality and myself. With this understanding comes a more attuned consciousness, a heightened spirituality, and a greater realization of Your direction in my life, dear God.

There is a new awakening in my mind and my body to the powerful, healing light of God. I acknowledge God’s healing presence and I look forward to the dawning of greater energy, strength, and vitality. The healing light of God is working in every area of my body temple, strengthening the tissues and the organs, and renewing and restoring each one.

I ask you to relax in this experience of the healing power of God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

As we bring this sacred time to a close, I pray we are beginning to experience a new dawn and a new awareness in our spirituality. As the day dawns, once again in each of our hearts, we celebrate the light that fills us and fills our world.

God’s complete and perfect illumination surrounds each of us; the umbrella of God’s pure love covers us; God’s power protects us and leads us from harm; the presence of God watches over us, every moment of the day and the night. We are in God, and God is in us – And ALL is well!

Do you know that you live in the midst of God’s infinite love? It is not possible for you to stray outside the boundaries of love – for God’s love is boundless.

You surrender your heart to infinite love so the love of God may be complete in you. God is the love that you feel now.

You let go of fear and confusion. They are illusions and hinder love. Faith and knowledge are supported by God’s infinite love.

You do not allow the pain of the past to mar the beauty in the present. You do not isolate yourself from the joy of living this day in total love.

All creation is an expression of love. You now let love motivate you to create and express love intentionally with words and actions.

Father Brendan O’Malley got up one fine spring day and walked to the window of his bedroom, to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside, and noticed there was a jackass lying dead, in the middle of his front lawn. He promptly called the local police station.

“Top o’ the day to ye. This is Sgt. Pat Flaherty. How might I help ye?”

“And the best of the day te yerself. This is Father Brendan O’Malley at St. Brigid’s. There’s a jackass lying dead in me front lawn. Could ye be sending a couple o’ yer lads over to take care of the matter?”

Sgt. Pat Flaherty considered himself to be quite a wit said, “Well now father, it was always my impression that you people took care of last rites!”

There was dead silence on the line for a moment and then Father Brendan O’Malley replied: “Aye, tis certainly true, but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin!”

BURNED BISCUITS

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed, yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school.

I do not remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite.

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits and I will never forget what he said.

He smiled at her and said, “Honey, I love burned biscuits.”

Later that night, I went to kiss my dad good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.

He wrapped me in his arms and said, “Your mom put in a hard day at work today and she’s real tired. And besides, a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone.”

Life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. I am not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else, but what I have learned over the years is that learning to accept each other’s faults, and choosing to celebrate each other’s differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing and lasting relationship.

This is my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God, because in the end, God is the only one who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn’t a deal-breaker.

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship.

Do not put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket; keep it in your own. So, pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine.

I AM CALM

“Commune with your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.”
Psalms 4:4

Say this prayer today: “I am calm; I am at peace; I am still; I am fulfilling God’s will.”

I am calm!

Today is the perfect time to re-center ourselves in the tranquility of God. During this time, we let go of all turbulent thoughts and emotions. We refuse to entertain them any longer. In their stead, we fill our minds with peaceful thoughts of God. We fill our hearts with love and goodwill for all humankind. In this calmness, our bodies and minds naturally relax and are receptive to the guidance of God.

I am at peace!

As we become calm, we find inner strength and peace; we are able to be still. As Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves, “Peace! Be still!” there was a great calm; so can you say, “Peace! Be still!” to your troubled thoughts.

I am still!

Say to your mind and body, say to your emotions, “Be still and know that I am God.” Become more aware of God than of your problems, and you will be fulfilling God’s will.

I am fulfilling God’s will!

God’s will for you exceeds your highest dreams and expectations. You fulfill your part, knowing that God will fulfill the Divine part. You are willing that God’s will be done in and through you. When you are calm and still, then God’s good will for you becomes visible to you, and it becomes an actuality in your life.

We agree to stop worrying and thinking only about our problems and instead, think about God.

Psalms 27:1 states, “The Lord is the stronghold of my life.”

We become open and receptive to God’s guidance. As we rest in the presence of God, we release from our thinking any limitations that we have accepted, consciously or unconsciously, for ourselves. As we think about the infinite strength of God, we feel new wholeness and energy throughout our bodies and our lives. The positive, life-giving activity of God is expressed through you. God gives you the power and strength to overcoming any imperfection in your life.

“Let it be so NOW; for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”
Matthew 3:15

Let us pray:

I live in the present moment, my awareness is enfolded in God’s love. I live in the present moment and I am in God’s peace. I live life now, in the present moment, and I am free from fear of what could happen in the future.

I live in the present moment, and this moment I choose to be happy so I can experience God’s bliss and light. I live in the present moment, in the expectation of good, expecting miracles from God. I live in the present moment, in the pure joy of God. I know that my joy is of the Spirit as well as mind and emotions. I live in the present moment, in the quiet joy of prayer. I live in the present moment, in complete spiritual well-being. I recall what Jesus said in John 15, “these things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

I live in the present moment, by continually refreshing my mind and heart with the positive teachings of Jesus Christ to find that my joy is full. In the present moment, I rest in the knowledge that God is the source of all good. This moment God is my protector and guide. I rest in the shelter of God’s love and the peace that passes understanding fills me through and through right now.

NOW is the present moment, a time of great creativity. My mind is filled with thoughts of a life that reflects God’s love for all and in all. In the present moment I believe what Jesus said, I am a child of God, and my life is filled with an abundance of all good.

In gratitude and with a trusting heart, I accept my life as it unfolds and accept all the gifts God gives to me.

NOW is the present moment, and I live life victoriously NOW. I know the joy of living in the presence of God NOW!

2 Corinthians 13:11

Some couples begin a relationship with that “starry-eyed happily-ever-after” feeling. They stand in front of the minister of their church and say, “I do,” committing to happy until death do us part. Somewhere along the line, probably between the first mortgage and the last tuition payment the romance can fade. The stress of work deadlines and household chores can leave partners a bit frenzied. Unfortunately the “couple connection” can become weakened. Individuals become too busy and fail to take the time to remember that the person across the table at breakfast is Mr./Ms. Right!

If this sounds a bit familiar, don’t despair. Reconnecting as a couple isn’t that complicated. Researchers at the University of Cincinnati Psychological Services Center surveyed couples who have been together for several years.

They developed the following list of “rules” for maintaining happy, committed relationships.

Prayer: Happy couples make a relationship through an active awareness of God’s love. They take time to pray together every day making a powerful spiritual connection. Most couples do it first thing in the morning.

Priorities: Happy couples make their relationship a priority even if it means rescheduling other obligations. Set aside time every day to “reconnect”.

Timing: Happy couples seize any time they can. Today’s culture offers many forms of competition such as increased work hours and a variety of activities. Resist the urge to “do it all”. Your relationship is more important! Make specific dates with your partner if you have to.

Recovery: Happy couples have learned to recover quickly from arguments and insults. If an issue needs to be addressed, they will often wait until a good time (after an enjoyable outing) to calmly discuss the issue when they are both at their best. They are prepared or I should say “Pre-prayed” for whatever comes their way.

Playfulness: Happy couples take their relationships seriously and know the value of fun and laughter. When life “rains on their parade” they find the humor. They know the value of nurturing the child within and taking the time to play together.

Communication: Happy couples keep the lines of verbal and non-verbal communication open. They share everything – problems and concerns as well as dreams, hopes and what they love about their partner.

Parenting: Happy couples don’t make their partner feel second to their children. They make sure children respect their privacy.

These secrets are really no secret at all, but simply common sense. A relationship is a relating – ship. Positive communication, communication, communication.

Basically, you should treat your partner as you would want to be treated yourself. The investment of a little time and effort is worth the reward of a happy, lasting relationship.

“It is the Lord your God who goes with you; God will not fail you or forsake you.”

As you rest, think within yourself about your positive faith. You have faith in God. God is your instant, constant, abundant help in every need.

You have faith in God to open ways where to human sense there is no way. You have faith in God to guide, govern, and direct you in Divine directed service.

Rising up in you now is a faith in God to raise your human understanding to Divine higher understanding. You have faith in God. And because God is with you, you have faith in yourself as a child of God, eager to do God’s bidding.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, I expect a miracle. Understanding that my help comes from You, I will not limit You with preconceived opinions of human mind. I am open and receptive to Your unlimited reservoir of good.

The abundance of God’s good is mine to use, share and enjoy. I am dwelling in the midst of infinite abundance of good. The abundance of God is my infinite source. The river of life is flowing through me, from God, through my memory, to, and through, my entire body. The river of life never stops flowing. It flows through me into lavish expression of God’s good.

Good comes to me through unexpected avenues. There is always a higher outworking of God’s law. It demonstrates in my life this day. God works in so many ways with so many wonders that I cannot even perceive of them in human mind this moment. Nothing is too good to be true because I dwell in the midst of all good and all love of God. Nothing is too wonderful to happen. With God as my source, nothing amazes me.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

I now give myself, freely and fearlessly, into this amazing, happy life that I am living today. Life gives back to me with fabulous increase. Blessings come in expected and unexpected ways from God.

God provides for me in wondrous ways this very day.

I am in grateful gratitude for what God is now doing for me, right now.

The river of God life flows through me now. The unlimited reservoir of good and love is outpouring on me, right now.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

May God’s good uplift you and fuel you in your daily life. Nothing else will exist but thoughts of God’s good. We turn to God now with our whole mind. We call forth the total, complete cleansing of God, as you rest it occurs. We ask that all negative thoughts dissipate like a mist. Like a fog, it will dissipate, under the heat of God’s light, and be no more.

We call forth the thoughts of God. We call forth a new reservoir and an investment of God power within us. Today, this moment, the action is taking place inside of each of us. We are created anew in God.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

If an old negative memory should ever come up, dear God, with Your help, I will receive the blessing of light. I will have better dreams at night. I will have a wonderful power during the day that gives me a foundation for my faith filled life to rest on. My positive thoughts have 1,000 times more power. Every thought in me is a thought of God.

May my mind be a reservoir of God’s Divine ideas that hold to the truth about me.

Thank You God, for Your ever abiding presence in my life.
