Once there was a little boy who lived in the country. The family had to use an outhouse, and the little boy hated it because it was so hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter and stank all the time. The outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy was determined that one day he would push that old outhouse straight into the creek.

One day after a spring rain, the creek was swollen so the little boy decided today was the day to push the outhouse into the creek. He found a large stick and started pushing. Finally, the outhouse toppled into the creek and floated away.

That night his dad told him they were going to the woodshed after supper. Knowing that meant a spanking, the little boy asked why. The dad replied, “Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today. It Was you, wasn’t it son?”

The boy answered, yes. Then he thought a moment and said, “Dad, I read in school today that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn’t get into trouble because he told the truth.”

The dad replied, “Well, son, George Washington’s father wasn’t in the cherry tree!”

A cowboy appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. ‘Have you ever done anything of particular merit?’ St. Peter asked.

‘Well, … I can think of one thing,’ the cowboy offered.

‘On a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn’t listen.

So, I approached the largest and most tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground.

I yelled, ‘Now, back off or I’ll beat you all up!

St. Peter was impressed, ‘When did this happen?’

‘Couple of minutes ago.’

Positive Daily Inspiration – November 12, 2022 – SATURDAY INSPIRATION

“Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” 1 Chronicles 22:13

Ten tips about how to live a better life:

1. Only for today, I will seek to live the livelong day positively without wishing to solve the problems of my life all at once.

2. Only for today, I will take the greatest care of my appearance: I will dress modestly; I will not raise my voice; I will be courteous in my behavior; I will not criticize anyone; I will not claim to improve or to discipline anyone except myself.

3. Only for today, I will be happy in the certainty that I was created to be happy, not only in the other world but also in this one.

4. Only for today, I will adapt to circumstances, without requiring all circumstances to be adapted to my own wishes.

5. Only for today, I will devote 10 minutes of my time to some good reading, remembering that just as food is necessary to the life of the body, so good reading is necessary to the life of the soul.

6. Only for today, I will do one good deed and not tell anyone about it.

7. Only for today, I will do at least one thing I do not like doing; and if my feelings are hurt, I will make sure that no one notices.

8. Only for today, I will make a plan for myself: I may not follow it to the letter, but I will make it. And I will be on guard against two evils: hastiness and indecision.

9. Only for today, I will firmly believe, despite appearances, that the good Providence of God cares for me as no one else who exists in this world.

10. Only for today, I will have no fears. In particular, I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe in goodness. Indeed, for 12 hours I can certainly do what might cause me consternation were I to believe I had to do it all my life.

Psalms 11:1

Veterans Day – Positive Christianity salutes our veterans today. Thank you for your service. May all veterans have extra blessings of God this day, and may it follow you wherever you go. Take a moment to bless our veterans in prayer, and thank them spiritually.

Every time you see 1:11 or 11:11 – think about your oneness with God. That simple technique has changed my life. Thousands of times, I have seen those numbers, on clock faces, even in advertisements. And recalled again God’s presence active in my life. I pray that this tradition will start in your life today. You will be surprised how many times you see it.

One time, I had a major decision to make, and it was quite perplexed. I looked up, and there above me on a massive electronic clock was 1:11. The interesting thing was, that was not the time. Some might have said that the clock was broken, but I knew it was a sign, in that moment, of God’s presence helping me in my decision. In that calm reassurance, and I made the right decision, instead of one out of human panic.

Today is even more special for it is 11.11. in the month of Thanksgiving. It is an entire day to recall, and give thanks, for God’s ever-present help in our lives. You are one with God, and God is one with you.

You are a child of God, heir to all of the Divine kingdom. God loves you so profoundly it is beyond what you can even imagine.

I pray that you are reminded today that you are divine in nature. You are divine idea of God in expression, created with the Christ spirit within.

Colossians 1:27, “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

On this special day let the inner Christ spirit shine forth from you, as you do, you will bathe others in its warm glow. Know from this moment on, that your true self is a child of God. Live your life to its fullest potential, for you are a joyous expression of God’s love and light.

11.11. live your life to the fullest by not dwelling on thoughts of lack or limitation.

 

Let go of yesterday’s concern, or tomorrow’s dread, and express your divine potential by letting God be God be in and through you. Know without doubt that God loves you. Know without doubt that God is your ever-present help. Know without doubt that you and God can do what you cannot do alone.

Matthew 19:26, “With God ALL things are possible.” Repeat this biblical affirmation whenever there seems to be disorder in your life. By affirming this statement, you realign your thoughts with the truth of God.

God is an active presence in your life. With God, all things are possible – even the restoration of order to what once seemed out of order.

God is with you in every part of your life, not just one part. God can be felt and experienced every day of the week, every moment of the day.

As you become more aware of God’s presence in your life, you are filled with a sense of peace and well-being.

This is the day 11.11. to remind ourselves again that God is with us, and all is truly well in our world.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

I pray, for the rest of my life, whenever I see the numbers 1:11 or 11:11, I will be reminded of my oneness with God.

“I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”

As you greet this day, you feel at one with God; there is no separation, only oneness. You feel the presence of God all around you. You know that you can depend upon God’s guidance to make this day satisfying, fulfilling and happy.

Today, you take time to see the beauty you are surrounded with, you are open, receptive, and obedient to Divine guidance and instruction. God reveals to you the inspiration and instruction that you need.

Even as you realize that God is with you to guide you in all ways, you realize that God is also with your loved ones and friends.

You pray for instruction and guidance from God, today. You pray that God will teach you the steps that you need to take and will watch over you as you take them. You pray for peace as you take action in your life.

In our Bible, in 1 Corinthians 14:33-40, it states strongly, “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace … All things should be done decently and in order.”

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Let us pray,

Dear God, I pray, today, for Your instruction and guidance. I pray that You will teach me the steps that I need to take. I pray that you will take all confusion out of this day, and bring me profound peace. I am affirming, in prayer, Your Divine help in the realization that I am invoking God’s perfect order in my life and in all the circumstances of my life.

I pray that You will watch over me. I release all my concerns about myself and all that concerns me to You, dear God.

I follow Jesus Christ by having unfailing belief in Your total power. I shall not faint nor grow weary, because Your strength follows me, goes ahead of me, and is, right now, infilling me. I listen to the Still Small Voice within me for constant direction and updates.

With Your help, dear God, I discover that there is ample time for every project and for every undertaking, and ample time to enjoy this beautiful fall day. In oneness with You, I feel a continuous flow of life in and through me, and I am so grateful.

I feel a new interest and enthusiasm welling up within me for my life and living. My life is filled with delightful, fascinating people and experiences. I am filled with zest for living and life. With God’s ever-watchful help I am happy and fulfilled.

I am thankful that God brings good out of every situation. We are told that, “With God all things are possible.” We should remember this when we are in the midst of a disturbing circumstance, or faced with some situation that seems impossible.

If love, understanding, harmony, or supply appear far off to our eyes and our mind, let us hold, firmly, to our belief that God is able to bring good out of every situation. As we discipline our emotions and keep our thoughts, feelings, and attitudes positive, we charge our belief with Divine power. Our Faith will be quickened by our positive attitude. Faith opens the door for God’s good to appear.

We may be impatient, at times, but we realize these feelings of impatience do not contribute to our well-being and happiness. What are we to do about feelings of impatience? Let us ask ourselves if our impatience will do any good, if it will bring about a change. If not, what will? Prayer will help! With God all things are possible.

Prayer for the situation. Prayer for the persons involved will help to open the way for constructive, positive actions. Prayer may even reveal that what is needed is a new insight on our part. We may see that the persons and situations are better than we have given them credit. In that event, we can pray for patience and understanding, and our prayers will bring forth fruit and, certainly, peace of mind.

Jesus said in Luke 8:15, “Bring forth fruit with patience.” When Jesus referred to fruit, He was referring to a harvest of “God-given good.”

God’s good is not something we manufacture. God’s good underlies all creation. God is. We need to be aware of the omnipresence and omnipotence of God and God’s ever present good. God’s good always has been and always will be. Good is God’s intelligent action within us and in the world around us. We can depend upon God to help bring into manifestation countless blessings, as we look for, work forward, and expect God’s good.

Faith opens the door. Where doors may have been closed before, we know that God has the key to new doors and to new opportunities. We do not sit, forever, beside a closed door, but rather pray to God for guidance to guide us to wide, open doors of even greater opportunity. Where one door closes another door opens. Jesus constantly told us that we could do even greater things than we realize. Across the threshold of a new open door, just ahead of you, is your chance and your opportunity to claim your good from God, new God-given talents from God, and new levels of happiness. Your Faith will open the door to God’s good in your life.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

In full faith, I reaffirm my God-given ability to move forward and to seize the opportunities that God lays before me.
I thank God for open doors and new opportunity.
I pray that I am no longer blind to new directions and portals of good.
I ask for guidance and direction and I agree to follow my God-given opportunities.

Let us pray a prayer of healing:

With an understanding faith, we know that with God, from a tiny scratch to something perceived to be more serious, You, dear God, are already providing for all the healing that is needed. Through the gift of life You gave within the person for whom we are praying, we claim, in faith, visualizing and believing without doubt, a perfection and wholeness of mind and body through the Christ.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We boldly claim the gift of the Christ health in this person. As this person heals, may he or she realize the power of the Divine. May this person receive a manifestation in the outer of the perfection of the inner self. May this perfection reach through the mist and create a demonstration of perfect and complete health. We are decreeing, in total faith and in the spiritual battery of belief, the gift of life that continues to show forth perfection.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We pray that our loved one works in Divine harmony and that the body works in perfect order. We pray our loved one is able to breathe easily and deeply, that the heart is beating in perfect rhythm, that the digestive system is strong and able to take nourishment. We are praying, together in a complete conviction, that through Christ, this loved one is whole and well now.

We praise and give thanks for the miracle of God making every disease temporal and bringing healing to all situations.

Allow yourself to rest in God. The greatness of God is here. The power of God is active in those for whom we pray.

Meditate on these words found in I Corinthians: “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit that is within you?”

You are created in the image and likeness of God. God’s life and health flow through every part of your being. God’s vital energy is in every cell of your body. God’s order blesses every function of your body.

 

God’s breath is your breath. You are whole and perfect. You give thanks that appearances are not the truth in God’s sight. You give thanks that all things are possible with God. You give thanks that you are created as a spiritual being first, and that your life is filled with Christ. In God you live, move and have your being. This is so true.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We feel a great surge of healing life through our entire being. We know that omnipresent God life is part of our lives, and that we are immersed in healing. In our minds we think health. Uppermost in mind is the thought of perfect health as our natural physical state. Our God-given heritage becomes the dominant thought of this hour.

We are thinking complete health and wholeness of God. We do not rehearse aches and pains; rather, we rehearse God. The healing essence of God within us is doing perfect work right now.

Our bodies are temples of the living God – living within every organ, tissue, and atom of our being.

In appreciation and thankfulness we rest once more, in the silence of prayer …

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray … Amen.

This is God. Effective immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you the 10 Commandments. Keep them.

But follow these guidelines, also!

1. QUIT WORRYING
Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST
Something needs to be done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can’t help you until you turn it over to Me. And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all … God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3. TRUST ME
Once you’ve given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs. YOUR problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE
Don’t wake up one morning and say, “Well, I’m feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here.” Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It’s simple. You gave Me your burdens and I’m taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don’t you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job.

5. TALK TO ME
I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I’m in control. But there’s one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don’t forget to talk to Me – OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family.

Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend.

6. HAVE FAITH
I see a lot of things from up here that you can’t see from where you are. Have faith in Me that I know what I’m doing. Trust Me; you wouldn’t want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE
You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven’t heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND
Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF
As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only — to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don’t ever forget that!

CHILDREN’S SERMON:
One Easter Sunday morning during the children’s sermon, the minister reached into his bag of props and pulled out an egg. He pointed at the egg and asked “What’s in here?”. One little boy exclaimed “I know, PANTYHOSE”!

SUPPORT A FAMILY:
The future father-in-law asked, “Young man, can you support a family?” The surprised groom-to be replied, “Well, no. I was just planning to support your daughter. The rest of you will have to fend for yourselves.”

GRANDMA’S AGE:
Little Johnny asked his grandma how old she was. Grandma answered, “39 AND HOLDING.” Johnny thought for a moment and then said, “And how old would you be if you let go?”

FIRST TIME USHERS:
A little boy in church for the first time watched as the ushers passed around the offering plates. When they came near his pew, the boy said loudly, “DON’T PAY FOR ME, DADDY. I’M UNDER FIVE.”

PRAYERS:
The Sunday School teacher asked, “Now Johnny, tell me, do you say prayers before eating?” “NO SIR!” he replied. “We don’t have to ’cause my mom is a good cook!”

CLIMB THE WALLS:
“OH, I SURE AM HAPPY TO SEE YOU,” the little boy said to his grandmother on his mother’s side. “Now maybe daddy will do the trick he promised us.” The grandmother was curious. “What trick is that?” she asked. “I heard him tell mommy that he would climb the walls if you came to visit us again”.

PALM SUNDAY:
It was Palm Sunday and, because of a sore throat, five-year-old Johnny stayed home from church with a sitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying palm branches. Johnny asked what they were for. “People held them over Jesus’ head as He walked by.” “Wouldn’t you know it,” he fumed. “The one Sunday I don’t go to church, He shows up!”

THE MOOD RING:
My husband bought me a mood ring the other day. When I’m in a good mood it turns green. When I’m in a bad mood, it leaves a red mark on his forehead.

LIFE AFTER DEATH:
“Do you believe in life after death?” the boss asked one of his employees. “YES, SIR,” the new employee replied. “Well, then, that makes everything just fine,” The boss went on. “After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother’s funeral, she stopped in to see you!”

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

The Student of Life Prayer
Dear God, help me to be a student of life.
May I be constantly learning and becoming better.
May I remember that You are my supreme instructor.
May I look at every experience as an opportunity for growth.
May I learn from what is happened to me and use the knowledge in positive ways.

Positive Daily Inspiration - November 5, 2022 - The Letter

“You are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you.”
Romans 8:9

My Uncle Ed was deceased over 20 years when his children found a hidden letter that he wrote them to encourage them in life. I think it is a profound gift to leave behind your positive thoughts.

We never know when this blessed journey will be over.

Life is filled with struggles, not just easy times. But with God we will find the way to success and happiness.

My own children have struggled with their own ups and downs.

I have been very blessed in my life, and my children automatically expect to have my success or better.

Facing disappointments, they have said to me, “But, you always said I was special.”

I have been encouraged to share this letter with you that I wrote to them a while back. I have other letters too, that I have written to them, but they probably will not find them until long after I am gone.

The Letter:

You ask – Are you special?

This is an important question.

I will be honest, with honesty taken from my own good and bad life experience of 65+ years.

You have the tremendous potential to be special.

You MUST be humble.

A person (even a king) is not born special. What makes that person special is determined by what they do for others instead of ONLY themselves. A person wholly focused on themselves lives in a hell of emptiness as a needy person.

Others will never be able to give you what you need.

Look at the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a person so self-absorbed that it fills his everyday experience. He must be a haunted man. Trying to fill his constant need becomes a hell on earth. The respect is not real, the power unstable. This is like trying to light a fire with wet wood, if it lights at all, it will go out.

If he simply cared more about his people than himself, life would become easily heaven on earth and he would be loved.

What defines you is how YOU TREAT OTHERS.

It is true some people will treat you unfairly in life – but this never defines you, and most often it is not about you. Most often lack of desired respect, or unfriendliness, from others defines a self-absorbed person totally oblivious to you.

You must be resilient, and never stalled by the negative actions of others.

Sometimes you just need to get out of the way.

Give first. Every day live life for others, beginning with what is reflected in the warmth of your words and expression on your face. Love others, and they will love you. People love you for the way YOU MAKE THEM feel. Truly love people, and they will love you back for it. Everyone needs love.

Anything that I have done that became special had its motivation and focus upon others, and not myself. Anything, that I have done JUST FOR MYSELF, being self-absorbed, was a miserable failure.

I have failed many times.

So, what was the secret of my success?

You’ve had a front row seat witnessing a miracle, but I cannot give you this through inheritance, you must claim this miracle directly for yourself.

My secret of success, I have asked God’s help. Repeatedly, over and over again, I have asked God to help me. When I listened, God came through, empowering me, balancing and giving me the way, and the means.

A person is a conduit, not a container of specialness.

God power – empowering through the human.

Ask God for help.

Don’t take yourself so seriously, take the Divine that infills you VERY seriously.

Remember to laugh, especially at yourself.

You were born into privilege because the miracle had already started. But position, or rank of power of another only gives you a higher launching pad to create your own service to others. A soul’s mission is individual – you cannot escape this. You cannot live in reflected light; you must create your own.

It is easy – because God is light. Each person must ask God individually. Life will be easy, and sometimes it will be hard – you will live in both areas at times. When in a hard area of life ask God for courage, energy, and fortitude. I promise your life will become easy and bright again as it has for me many, many times.

What is it up to you as a human to do?

Don’t drop the ball.

Maintenance, or maintain what is given to you.

You can have houses, new cars, ever-increasing success. Of their own they will rot and decay.

Everything requires maintenance. The delightful puppy, the beautiful plant.

Relationships require maintenance, like a plant, it dies without attention.

Homan’s law says: “What price – profit?

When looking at that shiny new object always ask yourself the question “What will it take to maintain this, and am I willing to make that commitment every day?”

If you’re not willing to work to maintain – don’t proceed. The possession will end up possessing you.

Do I think you’re special?

Yes, very.

I have seen it many times.

I think you are outstanding.

But what you have done so far is just the tip of the iceberg of what you are capable of doing with God.

I urge you to save this letter.

Read at different stages in your life, at times, you will be more open to this message.

Dear God, Help me to be more of a blessing to others today than yesterday more of a blessing tomorrow than today.

Positive Daily Inspiration - November 4, 2022 - DO NOT LET YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me.” John 14:1

A man holds his head in anguish and says, “Oh my gosh!!! I’m broke! And I don’t get paid until the first week of next month.” When was the last time you made a similar statement or had a similar thought? Recently? A moment ago? What kind of feeling did this thought or statement generate? A hole in your stomach? Your chest tightening?

Breathe. Just thinking about lack, – not enough, – or limitation, in any form, is enough to make one’s blood pressure rise, their heart rate quicken, and to make one break out in a cold sweat. So, breathe … if any of these symptoms or other discomfort have taken over your body and mind, recently. God surrounds you with infinite abundance, always. Your work is recognizing each and every gift from God, accepting it, and receiving it.

In the past, your habit might have been to try to second-guess God, when you needed something, especially money. A need arises and, immediately, you might go through an entire litany of where the money would not come from, and where it could come from. In doing this, you would, mentally and spiritually, close doors that might otherwise have been opened to you. For example, if someone has a financial need, the litany might sound like this:

A woman shared her story, “Well, my mom will never loan me money. Dad’s broke all the time. Jim can’t give me money because he’s got so many debts. I could never ask Susan.” You get the picture. The list can go on and on.

“About four years ago, I learned a very valuable lesson about second-guessing. I had just learned, in a workshop, that second-guessing God was a very effective way of closing doors. The next time I had a large financial need, I decided not to second-guess God. It wasn’t easy. Those statements of closing doors tried so hard to squeeze into my thoughts. But I prevailed. I kept my mind quiet and centered on the God possibilities of my abundance and prosperity that I believe always surround me.

“To my amazement, the financial need was answered from a person and a situation that I would have told anyone was impossible, at any time! I had no idea that the financial answer was in that place, in that time, for that situation. Through this lesson, I learned that I do not second-guess God – for anything.” God is full of surprises. God is full of good. God is full of love.

When you have an issue where you feel lack, or limitation, let go of the feelings and thoughts of lack and limitation. Open your heart and your mind to the miracle of God’s good. Know that your life is an adventure, each and every day. Abundance and prosperity jump out at you, from every nook and cranny, from around each corner. Can you begin to count all the creative ideas that fly through your mind? Can you identify each possible resource that is available to you? Can you even begin to imagine all that is open to you? Life is ready for you to say “Yes!”

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Let us pray:

Dear God:
I open my heart and my mind to You, dear God, right now. Feelings of joy and thanksgiving, surge through my body, as my mind opens to Your good.

My being vibrates with God-like energy and thinking, attracting all that I need, want, and desire. My mind and heart are open to all that You give to me – creative ideas, resourceful people, and material goods.

I accept everything You put before me, God, knowing that You, right now, are leading me to my highest and greatest good.

I trust You, and I surrender to You, knowing that You see my way clearly – more clearly than I can see from my human mind. Thank you for guiding me with Your Divine wisdom and Your all-encompassing love.

In the nature and through the power of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
