“I am sure that God who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.”
Philippians 1:6

If we really want something to occur in our lives, we can’t sit back and wait for something to happen, we must move towards it through positive actions, with God’s help.

It has been said that a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. The first step that you take in any endeavor may be small and unsteady. However, this step is most important, for it is a new beginning in your life.

Before taking your first step, pray for God to be with you, for God to go ahead of you, and for God to show you the way.

Consider a seed that holds within itself the promise of its fulfillment. It must be planted in order to grow. The mighty oak can become visible only after the acorn begins to unfold.

With your first step of a new beginning, you are on your way to achieving whatever it is that you desire. No one ever got anything by sitting and just hoping for it. On this level of life, you must MOVE, and KEEP MOVING.

Do not be like the old man and woman that sat in the backseat of their Pontiac and prayed to God, “God if you love us, you will drive us to California.” You know that it does not happen this way. You must get in the front seat, have the faith to turn on the ignition and God will be with you providing the ways, and that means for the journey that you yourself, in your free will, decide to take.

You must move first, and then God moves with you. You are a co-creator with God, the majority of the time this is the way the miracles will come to you. In your free will, you must be willing to co-create with God.

I have been surprised in ministry how few people really realize this is the way it works. I had a lady who gave me permission to share her story. A lady was praying for the perfect soulmate for years without meeting anyone. She admitted to me when we had prayer together – that she never left her apartment. I said to her, “Where do you think Mr. Right is going to come from? Do you expect him to drop through the ceiling? And even if he did, he would be damaged.” She got the idea, prayed, and took action steps leading to her wonderful marriage that she has now.

Real faith has feet on it, willing to move in the direction of the answered prayer. Lack of faith sits back and complains when nothing happens.

Your first step will lead to another, and another, and another. A single beginning step can lead to a new invention, a start in a different career, a wonderful relationship, or an undiscovered opportunity.

God’s gift to you is life, and you have the capacity to develop your life. Life is movement. You begin the journey. With God’s guidance, you take whatever steps are necessary to further your unfoldment.

You will soon be called a God-filled person of completion.

Dear God, may I always make right use of the gift of faith by constantly believing in the presence of good.
I expect good that comes forth from every experience.
Therefore, my forward movement is an expression of my faith.
I believe only success can prevail in my life, even when it’s not immediately visible – nothing can stop the outworking of the Divine good in my life.
As I make right use of my faith, it is easier to make right use of my actions.
I move forward into greater awareness of the goodness of the kingdom of God and the tremendous power that it is bringing forth.

This day, in prayer, we rededicate ourselves to a way of life which will make this day seem incomparable. We follow Jesus’ example, and we, too, will open new vistas, new awareness, and go past anything we have ever experienced or have known before.

We rise higher in spiritual awareness.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

This prayer time is a time of recommitment between you and God. It is a recommitment to God’s love and a recommitment to personal relationship. It is a time of recommitment to personal fulfillment. Now is the time, and today is the moment of God in your life.

I ask you to relax your body and mentally feel the chair supporting you in comfort, warmth, and peace. Now, I ask you to place every care you have in God’s hands. We refuse to steal back from God what we have given God to solve.

I pray during this prayer time that you feel a spiritual lightness. I pray that your burdens are lifted in a miraculous and wondrous way by God. I pray that, with cares and worries lifted from your mind, you can work on a higher purpose for your life.

You are a spiritual being. New horizons await you during this prayer, today. You realize this statement to be true for you. You are not bound by anything in the past. You accept the gift of God, now.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Dear God, I accept the gift of Your love. May it come forth from You through me, in an inexhaustible way.

I pray my life is now changed and enriched with Your love. I bathe my human mind with the love of God. Simply through the willingness to allow it to occur, I give You my human mind, God, and I infuse my human mind with Your Divine Mind. Flood my human mind and every thought within it with Your pure love. Flood all the plains. Flood the low areas. Flood my mind.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

I decree that because I am one with God, I am love. I am enriched by Divine love, and I am a spiritual, loving being. I am guided by the light and love of God.

I pray that people all around me begin to notice the change taking place in me. No longer are they dealing with the old me, my outer face, or my old personality. They are attracted to me, because I am God-love in manifestation. I pray all people become as friends.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

I decree that I am a loving person because God loves through me. No past memory or human hurt has power over God’s love. God’s love fills me and I give it out, automatically, to all through my spiritual presence. I pray that in this day, there is a feeling of total love in me, as never before. I pray that I am becoming a radiant individual filled with Christ’s love. I realize the presence of God as love expressing through me.

I realize, as the lower human areas of me are flooded with God-love, that all is forgiven. I do not hold on to any wrong in the past, in my human mind. I forgive the mental pictures that come to the surface floating through the pure love.

New energy is building in me, this day. This energy is building a God-love energy. It is a love energy field around my body and my mind, warding off fatigue and disease. Everything within my mind and body and outer world is in Divine love. My body, my mind, and all of everything connected to me in my life is saturated with the purity of Divine love.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You are a spiritual heir to God’s love. This is a new moment in your life. It is a silent sacred moment. It is a time when there is a silent shift going on in you. You simply say, “I accept. I accept this shift towards God’s complete love.”

“Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the Earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before God with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:1-2

Make a commitment with God to get out of your shell – others need you, and want, what you have to offer.

C. S. Lewis once said, “The great thing is to be found at one’s post as a child of God, living each day as if it were our last but planning as though our world might last 100 years.”

Some of the greatest people that I have ever known used to be shrinking violets. Overlooked by others, and invisible, they kept to themselves and wondered why others didn’t treat them better. They had to overcome these tendencies – and they did.

These people had to force themselves to get out of their shell. This is not an easy thing to do – removing one’s self from their comfort zone. But their comfort zone can often be a very lonely, isolated place.

People need us, people want to like us – but we have to be a friend first – before we can expect friends.

Are you living a life triumphant that God has promised can be yours? Or are you a spiritual shrinking violet?

As you ponder that question, consider this: God does not intend for you to live a life that is merely mediocre.

And God doesn’t want you to hide the light God has placed within you.

God wants you to “Let your light so shine before humans, that they may see your good works and glorify your God in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

In short, God wants you to live a triumphant life so that others might know what it means to be a child of God.

Self-isolation is a formed habit, just as putting oneself “out there” is also a formed habit. The better life is found in the latter. If you want success in this world it is mostly found in the latter.

People must discover you, they have to find you, to know that you are there.

I have had to overcome my shyness. People think that I’m a natural extrovert, but that is not true, it has been something that I have worked hard on with God’s daily help. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Daily life should be a triumphant celebration. Daily life should be an exercise of smiling and laughing with others in pure spiritual joy. Daily life should be a continual sharing with others. Daily life should reflect your thanksgiving and praise continually.

Join the celebration today. Live in a way that you, and others, can see God’s light coming through you, so that they too may join the celebration.

To continue this important process, I highly recommend the book “How to Win Friends & Influence People” by Dale Carnegie (available through Amazon.com or your local bookstore.)

A man is stumbling through the woods totally drunk when he comes upon a preacher baptizing people in the river. He proceeds to walk into the water and subsequently bumps into the preacher.

The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol, whereupon he asks the drunk, “Are you ready to find Jesus?”

The drunk answers, “Yes, I am.”

So, the preacher grabs him and dunks him in the water. He pulls him up and asks the drunk, “Brother, have you found Jesus?”

The drunk replies “No, I haven’t found Jesus.”

The preacher shocked at the answer, dunks him into the water again for a little longer this time. He again pulls him out of the water and asks again, “Have you found Jesus, my brother?”

The drunk again answers, “No, I haven’t found Jesus.”

By this time the preacher is at his wits end and dunks the drunk in the water again—but this time holds him down for about 30 seconds and when he begins kicking his arms and legs he pulls him up. The preacher again asks the drunk, “For the love of God, have you found Jesus?”

The drunk wipes his eyes and catches his breath and says to the preacher, “Are you sure this is where he fell in?

There was this preacher who was an avid golfer. Every chance he could get he could be found on the golf course swinging away.

It was an obsession. One Sunday was a picture-perfect day for golfing. The sun was out, no clouds in the sky, and the temperature was just right. The preacher was in a quandary as to what to do, and shortly, the urge to play golf overcame him. He called an assistant to tell him that he was sick and could not do church, packed the car up, and drove three hours to a golf course where no one would recognize him.

Happily, he began to play the course. An angel up above was watching the preacher and was quite perturbed. He went to God and said, “Look at the preacher. He should be punished for what he is doing.”

God nodded in agreement. The preacher teed up on the first hole. He swung at the ball, and it sailed effortlessly through the air and landed right in the cup three hundred and fifty yards away – a picture perfect hole-in-one. He was amazed and excited.

The angel was a little shocked. He turned to God and said, “Begging Your pardon, but I thought you were going to punish him?”

God smiled. “Think about it – whom can he tell … ?”

The Power Strip

What if we plugged in a power strip into itself?

It has plugs, right? That would be pretty silly!

But isn’t that what we do when we don’t rely on God to supply our power?

When things are closing in and we “re-group,” don’t we usually say something like, “I can do this and I can do it better than this?”

Don’t we just plug ourselves into our own selves instead of going to the only real source of Power and asking for God’s wisdom and help?

Take a minute the next time you are faced with a difficult situation and ask yourself if you are plugging into your own resources or God’s!

I read a poster with a thought that I really like.

It says: “Impossible is just a big word thrown about by small people who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

When is the last time you believed something wasn’t possible? What did you then choose to do? As you go into the rest of your life, think in possibles and notice when you believe you’re in a box. What is really possible for you, for us, for our world? This is about creating change in the world, and you are contributing to it with your heart and intention and efforts in creating your life. I acknowledge us all for our work and our caring and our willingness to see past the “impossibles” to what can be.

He was just a little boy, on a week’s first day. He was wandering home from Sunday School, and dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass; he found a caterpillar. He found a fluffy milkweed pod, and blew out all the “filler.”

A bird’s nest in a tree overhead, so wisely placed on high. Was just another wonder that caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course, and hailed him from the lawn; Asked him where he’d been that day and what was going on.

“I’ve been to Bible School,” he said and turned a piece of sod. He picked up a wiggly worm replying, “I’ve learned a lot of God.”

“Mmm … very fine way,” the neighbor said, “for a boy to spend his time.”

“If you’ll tell me where God is, I’ll give you a brand new dime.”

Quick as a flash the answer came! Nor were his accents faint. “I’ll give you a dollar, Mister, if you can tell me where God ain’t.

Negatives Can Be Erased in Your Life

“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”
Acts 1:8

Negatives can be erased in your life by knowing that through the power of God you have been given dominion over ALL conditions

You do not feel confused whenever you have an important decision to make. You are inspired, for you depend upon Divine wisdom to guide and direct your ways.

There is no need for you to go to first one person, and then another, seeking advice. You depend upon the prompting of God, for such guidance is fitted to your special-needs and circumstances. Relying on God, you save yourself from the confusion that results from being overloaded with the ways and means that are not right for you, or for the situation that you are facing.

As you focus on the perfect wisdom of God, there is a sense of joy and contentment beyond compare. And you receive power from the Holy Spirit to help you through the challenge in front of you.

You know when you have the right answer, because you feel right about it.

At any time, the light of God can shine in, through you, and you willingly give expression to it. When you have a need for comfort, intellectual reasoning seldom brings peace and solace that lifts your spirits and thoughts above the challenge. However, there is help at hand. When you turn to God, the love of the Holy Spirit rises to meet you.

You can remove mental blocks that stand in the way of this guidance, and you can remove mental blocks that stand in the way of God’s gift of harmony, order, and fulfillment in your life.

You must not focus on unsuccessful attempts in the past, or projecting an attitude of failure to any future attempts.

These negatives can be erased by knowing that through the power of God you have been given dominion over ALL conditions.

It is your responsibility to be open and receptive, to allow God to express through you. This means, in your human mind, being open to higher ideas than your own. When you are open to the ideas from the mind of God you are alert to every occasion when you can add real permanent solutions to temporary problems.

The Holy Spirit enfolds you in love. The whole spirit of God can come through you. You can be at peace concerning yourself, friends, and loved ones. Emotional or mental anguish is eased. Unpleasant memories are transformed or eliminated. As you move through each day and night, you let your vision be above the thinking in your own human mind, above the circumstance, and view of the wonder which is encircling you.

Don’t think alone, ask for the wisdom of God to come through you – and it will!

We make choices daily. Some seem simple to make while others seem so difficult that we may question ourselves. “What if I make the wrong decision? Who will be affected and in what ways? How do I know what the right choice is?”

Even by not acting, we are making a choice, so making choices cannot be avoided.

God knows the right choice.

Each one of us is endowed with a level of intuition, which has been called “wisdom of the heart.” This intuition is always available to us and working for us. As we trust in God, answers come in the form of feelings or a certain knowing.

Do not think alone, ask for the wisdom of God to come through you and it will.

In prayer or meditation, we nurture our intuition and it increases. By regularly going into the silence of prayer we reinforce our intuitive faculty. Then we know that we are receiving Divine guidance in making the right choice. We are open to spiritual enlightenment, and we act on it with great faith. The level of genius of God mind cannot be measured.

God has created a system of order and rightness for the universe. For everything there is a time and the season. A tiny seed contains a potential flower, and the proper conditions activate the unfolding of the flower.

You know that God is active in your life, and every stage of life is a stage of growth. Even right now you are being prepared for greater good. This inner preparation is occurring in you this moment. You will use this moment to sow seed thoughts of faith in a bountiful harvest of good.

Before you are vistas of boundless opportunities. You will not waste another seed thought on worry or doubt. Today you begin to use your thinking to accomplish great good. As you call on the good habits of positive thinking – you work with God. You allow God to think through you with genius level thoughts. You allow God to guide you. Through positive thinking you will find it easier to comprehend the positive intuitive guidance that comes from God.

You will find that you have a mighty source of the inner strength.

In the garden of life, you plant seed thoughts from which you want to reap a harvest. Prayers for guidance, vigor and vitality illumine your mind and your life unfolds in Divine order.

God Does Take Care of Us

“For God has made with us an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure.”
2 Samuel 23:5

Even when you seemingly do everything wrong, God coming through you can do everything right – bringing perfect results, and restoration.

God always takes care of us so perfectly. Years ago, when I was in seminary, a fellow ministerial student by the name of Don Allen asked me for help in buying a new car. He considered me to be a better negotiator than he was.

This particular winter day a light dusting of snow covered all of western Missouri. Don picked me up in his old car that he wanted the trade. This small imported station wagon had definitely seen better days before living its life for over a decade in the Rust Belt.

He said for me to watch my step getting into the car because the floorboards had rusted through on my side. As we drove a long it was the opposite of having a sunroof – instead of looking at the sky – I watched the road as it moved a few inches underneath me.

He said, “Tell me, if you feel like you are getting sleepy.” I asked him what he meant, and he said there were holes in the exhaust and fumes tended to come into the interior through the big opening in the floor – especially on cold days, when you had to have the windows fully rolled up.

There was no heater; however, you did get some heat off of the gases from the hot exhaust!

I told him to be noncommittal when we entered the first dealership, and I would talk to them preparing the way for the best deal. We prayed for God’s help. I told him to be sure to keep a low profile, and just look around at the first dealership.

We drove for about 15 miles, then, as we were stopped at the light, waiting to turn left into the first dealership — the car caught on fire! Flames were coming out of the sides of the hood. I was ready to bolt for the safety of the grass in the median when the light changed, and Don quickly floored it, pulling into Mitch Crawford Chrysler in Raytown Missouri, and to my dismay he parked directly in front of the showroom window!

It seemed as if every employee of the dealership ran outside. Three had the quick foresight to grab fire extinguishers sensing correctly that this old wagon had the potential of blowing up if the fire was not immediately put out.

Don walked into the dealership – never has a person in automotive history ever had a more noticed higher profile.

He said to the 12 salespeople staring at us, “I want to buy a car!”

They said what kind? He said I do not know? What do you have?

The salesman said, “Well we have a nice gray sedan out back.”

And Don said something I will never forget, and I quote, “I’ll take it! – how much will you give me for my trade?” – pointing to the chartered lump of steel outside the dealership window.

The salesman said, “Don’t you want to see it first?”

“No,”he said, “I’ll take it!”

I just stared at him – I tried to whisper to him, “BE COOL!!!!!,” But he just couldn’t.

Within one hour he was in his beautiful new car. The dealership liked him SO much they bent over backwards to help him, they even gave him $500 for his trade that was still smoking in the parking lot. (That was A LOT of money 37 years ago for a car that would have been better as a Weber Grill.) Everyone was laughing and everyone was having a wonderful time. I am sure to this day that dealership still remembers the day when Don Allen drove in and said, “I want to buy a car!”

God helped him make one of the best deals, I have ever seen, with the opposite of every human negotiating skill that I have ever learned. God does take care of us.

There is human negotiation, and then there is the superior God negotiation. No matter how bad things appear when God takes over – Divine order governs the day.

Letting go of the tendency to worry about the outcome of some important event often seems difficult. We may find ourselves trying to do everything in OUR power to accomplish all that needs to be done. Finally, almost as if it is our last resort, we turn to God.

When facing a challenging situation let us always turn to God FIRST, and let God takeover. Let us still our anxious thoughts, and give God complete charge over all that concerns us. As we let go, and let God, we release ALL fears. We become open and follow through on God’s guidance.

We follow the guidance that we receive calmly and with poise, for we know that God’s loving presence is with us all the while.

As we let go and let God take over, we are sure that ALL the power in the universe is working, and negotiating, to maintain order in our lives and bring the best to us continuously. We go forth to meet every challenge with faith and confidence in our God-given ability to overcome.

In the new car, the heater felt so good on the way home, but I must admit – I missed seeing the moving pavement underneath my feet!

Dear God, I know that when everything turns bad, You have the power to turn it around, and change everything to great good.

I love Halloween. Tonight, I will take my eight-year-old granddaughter around the neighborhood. I affirm that I will let her keep ALL the candy, even the ones that look ESPECIALLY tempting to me.

It is a fun day to play at being scared. But being scared in real life is NOT fun.

Everyone is afraid of something. If you look closely, you will see that the root of all your fears is a lack of trust in God, or a lack of trust in your ability to handle whatever comes your way. Fear can be overcome.

Positive Christianity gives you seven steps to overcome anything that scares you.

1) Stop waiting for circumstances to be just right, or until you are sure you know what to do before you act. Fear does not go away unless you take risks to make your dreams come true. With each accomplishment comes new strength and improved self-esteem.

2) Keep a diary where you can write about the things that scare you. Notice where they occur, how anxious you feel, and what you do to deal with the situation. Over time, you will be able to see what works best for you and also see how you have improved. You will find that faith in God takes away all fear.

3) Acknowledge the positive things in your life. Anxious people tend to overlook their own strengths. When you are scared, make a conscious effort to remember some past positive experience, instead of focusing on your failures.

4) Avoid catastrophic thinking. Ask yourself what the worst possible outcome of the situation could be. You will usually find that it’s something you could survive, even though you would not enjoy it. Having faced the worst possibility, it makes it easier to deal with what does come. Now, think about what God could bring to pass in the situation, to make it better.

5) Acknowledge your fears, but do not face them alone, face them with God. Many people try to mask their anxieties with busy activities. These may distract you from your anxiety for awhile, but when they become avoidance techniques, anxiety eventually increases.

6) Stay focused on God. Much anxiety is the result of projecting yourself into future situations. Stay in the present, here and now, with God– since that is all you can control anyway.

7) Take it one step at a time. If you are overwhelmed at the thought of confronting an anxiety triggering situation, tackle one piece of that at a time with the help of God. Give yourself permission to repeat steps as many times as it is necessary for you to be completely comfortable.

God can and will take away your fears.

Allow God to bring your life to the flood stage of God’s good and perfection.

The floodgates of my life are opened as I open myself to God’s ever-present good. New health and new Divine ideas inspire my life to move forward and accept the full good of God!

God’s pattern of perfection is in you now. God is expressing health and wholeness in your mind, body, and life. Within you courses the pure, perfect, healing life of God.

You think about the pattern of perfection within you, the image of God in which you were created, and the floodgates open!

Healing flows through you as you center your attention on the pure life of God, on God’s pattern of perfection within you. You are healed through and through.

You follow Jesus Christ, all through this day, as you let your thoughts return to the constant manifestation of God’s pattern of perfection within you. You breathe easily and freely, your heart beats in perfect rhythm, and every function and organ of your body does its work easily and perfectly.

You bless God’s perfect life that makes you whole and well–and God keeps you whole and well! Your heart overflows with praise and thanksgiving to God, for God’s pattern of perfection is within you expressing as health and wholeness in mind and body.

The floodgates of Divine intelligence are NOW working within you. God’s Divine intelligence shines through you as perception and guidance to direct and inspire you.

Our Bible says, “Thy word is a … light to my path.” Psalms 119:105

When you plan any sort of trip, you usually get out a map and find the best route to your desired destination. One route may be more direct, the other more scenic, but you choose whichever one best suits your particular circumstance.

Sometimes as you travel the road of life, you may become confused as to which way to turn, which route is best in helping you to fulfill your Divine purpose.

When a feeling of uncertainty arises, know that God’s Divine intelligence shines through you. Affirming today’s Positive Daily Inspiration with faith and joy brings clarity to your thoughts and feelings. You have an inner perception which directs and inspires you to the most loving, wise, and creating path for you to follow. With courage and confidence, you can follow your pathway, knowing that the Divine intelligence of God continually shines through you and is guiding your every step, so the flood tides of God good manifest in your life.
