In all of your human history, this is YOUR moment. This is your lifetime to feel the activity of God. Each of us are traveling a journey. We are not traveling alone. We are with God. But to feel God, we have to quiet our human mind down, and this is what we are here to experience now. Go quietly now.

Leave aside all worry, and have confidence. Relax and trust. So quietly, sure of God, safely, and easily, you flow into a relaxation. God is in complete control of every aspect of your life, your mind, and your body.

God is with you now. What a joyous realization this is. You listen to the still, small voice, and it says to you, “Peace, be still and know that I am God.” It says to you, “Don’t worry. I am in charge. Everything is all right. Go quietly now, and I will direct your path, for I know the way.”

Rest in the silence of prayer …

You listen to the silence of prayer, and you trust in the joyous fulfillment of your journey to God. Listen to these words from Psalms: “Then they were glad because they had quiet. And he brought them to their desired haven.” You are with God.

You have a constant companion which is Christ, your very own Lord.

You seek to realize that this Christ knows the way that lies before you. Christ is familiar with every turn in the road of your life. Christ is ever ready to point the way to lead you to your desired haven of peace, wholeness, harmony, abundance, and self-fulfillment. You are walking with God. God is working through you, empowering your physical body, thinking through your mind. You will reach your destination of this heaven, safely, quickly, and joyously.

Rest in the quiet place now, in the silence of prayer …

You are alert to the still, small voice. The still, small voice within us is telling us the way to go. As we meet the many turns, the many points of change in our life’s journey, we travel in peace with a clear-run-through to our destination, a journey where there are no stops, no delay in obstacles, or detours.

This day, whether you are starting out on a journey, whether you’re writing a letter, seeking employment, seeking to heal a relationship, or seeking the fulfillment of any other legitimate desire, you are granted, by the activity of God, a clear-run-through to joyous satisfaction, a quiet, easy way in record time.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Go quietly now. Know that you are not alone. Trust Christ. God will get you through to your destination in the best possible way. You are in an experience of a clear-run-through to each desired heaven.

Through the power of the spoken word in prayer, I decree for you: THE CHRIST PRESENCE GUIDES YOU IN THE WAY OF PEACE AND SAFETY.

YOU ARE DIVINELY PROTECTED. We thank God for always being here with us, along the road of life that never ends.

Do ALL YOU CAN, and let God do the rest.

Doing all you can means not only doing all you can in your positive actions, but it also means thinking and talking to yourself in the right, positive way.

Most of us, constantly, put our abilities and ourselves down in our self-talk. Every winner that has ever won has to believe first, in positive thought and speech, that she or he is already a winner. Every loser that has ever lost believed that they were a loser first, before they lost.

God can only help you if you are willing to help yourself. You have a God-given gift of free will.

If you choose to be a loser – so be it.

If you choose to be a winner – God will come through to help you win.

How do you go from convincing yourself you are a loser, to convincing yourself that you are a winner? The answer is a whole lot of convincing, positive self-talk.

Never miss the chance to say something nice to yourself about you.

For the next 24 hours, you are not allowed to criticize yourself, once.

On the day of his entrance exams for admission to West Point, Douglas MacArthur’s nerves got the better of him. He kept saying, “I’m going to fail; there is no way I’m going to pass,” over and over again.

His mother reassured him by saying, “Doug, you’ll win if you don’t lose!”

He said, “What do you mean?”

She said, “You’ll win if you don’t lose your nerve. You must believe in yourself, my son, or no one else will believe in you. Be self-confident, self-reliant, and, even if you don’t make it, you will know you have done your best.” His mother was right. When the test scores were announced, MacArthur had passed with the highest score on the list.

MacArthur said that he talked himself through the exam. Positive self-talk can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of your life and what you believe you can accomplish.

In an experiment reported some years ago in Psychology Today Magazine, hundreds of different techniques were tried to enhance performance in a human being. Dart throwers tried everything from Zen to imagery techniques in their attempts to hit the bull’s-eye.

The results showed that positive self-talk, the same sort of verbal psyching yourself up that enabled “The Little Engine That Could” to climb the mountain induced the highest levels of “peak experience” – that spiritual sensation of effortless flow, during mental or physical tasks.

As a teenager, Whitney Houston cultivated her singing talents under the watchful eye of her mother, Cissy, who was the founder of the 1960s group The Sweet Inspirations. “I remember when I was 17, I was getting ready for the show Mom and I were doing that night,” Whitney said, “she called, sounding hoarse and said, ‘ my voice! I can’t sing!’ I said,’ forget it! I can’t go out alone!’ She said, ‘Of course you can – you are good, just tell yourself how good you are over and over again until your soul believes it.'”

Whitney talked to herself, positively, the whole night, telling herself that she could do this, and she did just fine.

When she called her mother later, she discovered the whole thing had been a set-up. Her mother said to her that Whitney had wanted to do this for a longtime but was to frozen in fear to go “solo.”

We talk to ourselves all the time; we say the worst things about ourselves to ourselves, and the problem is we believe it. We all want a better self-image, and we can have it if we are willing to self-talk to ourselves in a new POSITIVE way. We are God’s creation, children of God. It is an absolute mistake to disbelieve in God’s creation, and the God-given gifts that you are endowed with. Be endowed, NOT in doubt.

If you believe in God then you have to believe in God’s creation. But often it takes practice.

For the next 24 hours I want you to constantly self-talk yourself in positive ways. If this feels funny, or even stupid, allow that to be a gauge of how badly you need to do this. Positive talk should not seem foreign to you and if it does, it just means that you have spent much of your self-talking in a negative way. Positive self-talk is a learned habit that must be learned if you are to have all that you want out of your life.

Tell yourself how much ability you have. Tell yourself how much you can accomplish. Tell yourself that you are good-looking enough and smart enough and talented enough and creative enough. You are never left alone and God’s work is never finished in you and through you. You and God have great things to accomplish. But you must believe in yourself enough to enable yourself to be a vehicle of that God-accomplishment in your life. God has been waiting patiently for you to come around, and you are now saying “Yes God, I am up to the task. I am ready and willing, right now.”

DIVINE TRUTH

True freedom comes from within your soul. Lord, I turn to You in prayer and receive Your assurance that I am not alone nor limited in any way.

Nothing is ever too small or insignificant to be worthy of God’s help. Lord, in You I have true help for whatever I must face today.

Gossip betrays trust. The harm done is often irreparable. Lord, may I never be responsible for hurting anyone through my conversations.

Accept God’s help and transform today into a peaceful and joyful day. Lord, when I am anxious and troubled I will turn my attention to You.

Make today the best day of your life. Lord, I have been greatly blessed not only by what I have, but by those burdens that I have been spared.

Pray often. It is the single most important habit of the day. Lord, I will speak to You often throughout my day and be open to Your blessings.

We are accountable not only for what we do, but for what we do not do. Lord, I will not let my talents wither away because I am lazy or fearful.

No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but God did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards. Don’t stay on the bumps too long. Move on!

When you feel down because you didn’t get what you want, just sit tight and be happy, because God has thought of something better to give you. When something happens to you, good or bad, consider what it means. There’s a purpose to life’s events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.

You can’t make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved; the rest is up to the person to realize your worth. It’s better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride.

We spend too much time looking for the right person to love or finding fault with those we already love, when instead we should be perfecting the love we give. Never abandon an old friend. You will never find one who can take their place. Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it grows older.

If you find yourself caught up in a seeming net of a huge challenge it can be quite alarming to our spirit. Whenever you find yourself so caught up in a situation that there seems to be no way out, affirm with faith in prayer:

Christ is the way!

Knowing the truth of this affirmative prayer will bring you peace and assurance immediately. New thoughts and ideas will fill your mind and show you a new way to go, leading to wholeness and victory.

As you affirm throughout this day in prayer: “Christ is the way,” you will be filled with the presence of the Christ spirit. New avenues to greater peace of mind, health, prosperity and well-being will open up to you. You will be surrounded and infilled with opportunity. You will be given guidance on how to find a way out of the situation you’re in. You will be shown how to make the best of the worst situations for all concerned. If you were to listen to God talk about you today, you would hear wonderful things about your potential. Do you allow the opinions of others to influence your actions unduly? Perhaps someone says that you are too quiet, or too talkative. Someone else may tell you that you are performing a task too slowly, or too quickly.

When you strive to conform to the opinions of others, you may become confused and feel pulled in many different directions. You may feel that you must change your personality to suit one person, only to have someone else suggest you act in another way.

To stop the confusion, become centered in prayer by knowing that God created you to be special, and unique. Just as your fingerprint is unique from any other person that has ever lived on planet earth, your soul is just as unique. Begin by accepting yourself, and continue as you realize that God accepts you, and loves you. Accept yourself as important in God’s universal plan of good. Cooperate with God’s plan of good by being the unique individual you were created to be.

Pray to God to be empowered to feel good about yourself.
Pray to God to be empowered to live peacefully with all others.
Realize that we are all individual expressions of God’s oneness and harmony.

“Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
Corinthians 3:16

If anyone needs evidence of God’s existence all we have to do is look in the mirror. The human body is a miracle, perhaps one of the most wondrous that you will ever see. There are more miracles discovered about the body as we look under the microscope. The Creator created something almost beyond the scope of human comprehension.

I have something I want to share with you. Imagine 100 sweet peas, taken out of a can. I took out the can opener; I opened the lid and counted out 100 peas. I put the 100 peas in this cup for you this morning.

There was a man by the name of Donald Hatch: Andrews who wrote a book called Symphony of All Life. It is an out-of-print book now. He said, “I thought it might be interesting, first, to calculate the approximate number of atoms in the average human body. I know my own body weight; and I know precisely how much each kind of atom weighs. I also know fairly well what percentage I have in my body of each of the different kinds of atoms. So it did not take me long to figure out that I have in my body about five octillion atoms. Writing this number, it out with digits it is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000: Five followed by 27 zeros.

“Five octillion is obviously a very large number. But again we are rather lost [in human mind] when we try to grasp clearly its size. We are unable in human mind to visualize distinctly the difference between, say, a trillion or a sextillion or an octillion. While I was meditating on this difficulty, I noticed some dried peas in a dish on one corner of the kitchen table where I was making my calculations.”

Donald Hatch Andrews says, “I began to wonder what five octillion peas would look like. Suppose I actually had five octillion peas; would they cover several acres, several square miles, or perhaps even several counties?”

“There was an empty medicine bottle about a cubic inch in volume sitting on the table, so I counted out 100 peas and found that they just about filled this bottle. Knowing this, it was fairly easy to calculate that a million peas would fill our household refrigerator, a billion peas would fill our house from cellar to attic and a trillion peas would fill all the homes in the town [where I lived].” And I would guess a quadrillion peas would come close to filling all of the buildings in a major city.

“You see how we are progressing: million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, adding three ciphers at a time.

“I saw that I was going to run out of buildings pretty soon so I searched for another measure for the peas. I looked at the map and I noticed the state of Pennsylvania is roughly rectangular so I decided to take that as my next measure.

“Suppose that there is a blizzard over Pennsylvania but instead of snowing snow, it snows peas; and we get the whole state of Pennsylvania covered with a blanket of peas four feet deep. You can imagine what it would be like under these conditions driving out on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, seeing peas banked along the roadside, drifting up against the houses, peas off to the horizon in every direction, peas covering the entire state, from Maryland up to western New York and from New Jersey out to Ohio. Pennsylvania thus covered with peas four feet deep would contain just about a quintillion peas, the next rung on our ladder of ascending numbers.

“For the next step we need to imagine the blizzard of peas taking place over all the land areas of the entire earth. We have to have North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa all covered with peas four feet deep. This pea blanket would contain about a sextillion peas.

“For our next figure we must go out among the neighboring stars, collect 250 planets, each about the size of the earth, cover all these planets with peas four feet deep, and then we will have a septillion peas.

“Finally, we go out to the farthest reaches of the Milky Way; we collect 1,250,000 planets each the size of the earth; we cover each of these planets with peas four feet deep; and then, at last, we have the number of peas corresponding to the number of atoms in an average human body.

“So now perhaps you have some idea of how small an atom is and, incidentally, an idea of how complicated you are.”

When the Bible says you are made in the image and likeness of God, we cannot take God’s greatest miracle and use it for anything but God’s purpose. We should and we shall have a feeling of well being, a feeling of gladness, and a feeling of love.

God is love. Imagine every one of those peas is love.

Tuesday Prayer and Meditation

“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!”
Psalms 31:24

The power of God is here. What a joy we have to experience God in this place. We are poised today as we enter prayer. We are patient and positive. We are here at this time to remind ourselves of God’s power that we can accept.

“All things are working together for good” Romans 8:28. We know that in everything God works for good for those who love God. Sometimes it takes great poise to recall this, especially when things seem so out of order, or when confusion seems to reign.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Even when everyone seems upset and unhappy, you refuse to become negative. You affirm silently with me:

I am poised because I know that God is leading me to my highest good. I know that God is here bringing about that which is for the highest good of all.

Poise is balance – a combination of peace and power. We are poised. We feel the power of God within us, at work in us and through us.

Spiritually know for yourself: I am patient. I am patient because I know that God is leading me to my highest good. I am patient because I know that God is leading others to their highest good also. I am patient because I know that God is at work and God cannot fail.

I am positive. I know that God is leading me to my highest good. I align myself with the constructive side of things now during my prayer.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

Let us think about poise and healing. True healing is balance in the body, balance in the mind, and balance in the emotions. I affirm silently: I am poised. I know that God’s healing work is being done in me. Perfect balance is something I’m feeling right now.

Perfect balance and patience keep me peaceful in my mind and heart and help to free me from any worry or tension I might have carried into this room this morning. I am positive. I know that God’s healing work is being done in me right now.

We are poised. We come from a position of strength in God. Therefore we are not fearful. We are patient. We never doubt because we know in partnership with God our good is on its way.

We remain positive. We place our faith in the one true source of all – God. We know that God provides for our every need.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We have a spiritual outlook now. It is in our mind; it is in our body; it is in our thought.

Good gravitates toward us. In the face of limitation, we are positive that supply is available. In the face of delays, we are patient and trusting. In the face of change, we are poised and serene.

We know that all things coming into our lives are working together for good.

Poised, patient, positive. Our lives are blessed. We meet each day more convinced than ever that God is with us and with those for whom we pray to guide, heal, and prosper.

Through the power of the spoken word decree: God is bringing only good into my life and circumstances. I am poised, patient, and positive.

Rest for a moment in the silence of prayer …

God is bringing good into my life and the circumstances of my life. I welcome God. I am poised. I am patient. I am positive.

In Jesus Christ’s name I so affirm. This is the truth now about me … Amen.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

“His father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran and put his arms around him and kissed him.”

This Father’s Day piece is dedicated to fathers everywhere that make a major difference in their children’s lives.

Her hair was up in a ponytail
Her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy’s Day at school,
And she couldn’t wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn’t there today.

But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school,
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees,
A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called,
A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
For a man who wasn’t there.

“Where’s her daddy at?”
She heard a boy call out.
“She probably doesn’t have one,”
Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
“Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day.”

The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

“My Daddy couldn’t be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
I’m not standing here alone.

“Cause my daddy’s always with me,
Even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
He’ll forever be in my heart”

With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
Beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

“I love my daddy very much,
He’s my shining star.
And if he could, he’d be here,
But heaven’s just too far.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
It’s like he never went away.”
And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.

And to her mother’s amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

“I know you’re with me Daddy,”
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

My prayer today is for fathers: God, blessed fathers with the strength to be tender with their children, with all children, even during the most stressful times. Show them how to be wise enough to allow themselves to be, my children as well as to teach them, for children’s descriptions of the world can be so rich with imagination that adults discover a new and better world for themselves.

Inspire each father to love more dearly, to listen more clearly. Whether tenderly holding infants in their arms, steadying toddlers as they take the first steps, or welcoming youngsters home from college, fathers are fulfilling such an important role in the lives of children.

God, bless the fathers of our world

THE DAYS OF THE WEEK

Monday – Wash Day
Dear God, help me wash away all my selfishness and vanity, so I may serve you with perfect humility through the week ahead.

Tuesday – Ironing Day
Dear God, help me iron out all the wrinkles of prejudice I have collected through the years, so that I may see the beauty in ALL others.

Wednesday – Mending Day
O God, help me mend my ways so I will not set a bad example for others.

Thursday – Cleaning Day
Dear God, help me to dust out all the many faults I have been hiding in the secret corners of my heart.

Friday – Shopping Day
Dear God, give me the grace to shop wisely so I may purchase eternal happiness for myself and all others in need of love.

Saturday – Cooking Day
Help me, dear God, to brew a big kettle of brotherly love and serve it with the clean, sweet bread of human kindness.

Sunday – The Lord’s Day
O God, I have prepared my house for you. Please come into my heart as my honored guest, so I may spend the day and the rest of my life in your presence.

MEASURE LIFE

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. If you really need a grouch, there are probably a few dozen of your relatives to do the job.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Just never let the brain idle.

4. Laugh often, long, and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. Laugh so much that you can be tracked in the store by your distinctive laughter.

5. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.

6. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it is family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

7. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

8. Don’t take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next county, a foreign country, but not guilt.

9. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

Remember, Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
