Prayer is the most misunderstood power in Christianity.

THE connection with THEE connection. I am talking about being ONE with the ONE.

True prayer is energy of the highest form. It is accessible by people of every faith. It is the kind of prayer that brings understanding of deeper principle and knowledge. It is a kind of prayer that moves God power in us in the way electricity moves when a connection is made. If we allow the connection to be made and the electricity to flow, the lamp will light up.

True prayer makes the connection – us – with God – so Divine electricity can flow, and there is greater luminous light in our mind, and in our lives.

Many pray in a wanting way so as to move or influence God. But real prayer moves God power in us, and through us.

You may have heard the old story about the ship out at sea that was in trouble. The winds were blowing, the sea was flying high, and the ship was being tossed about. A woman found the Capt. and said to him, “Sir, are we in serious trouble?”

He looked at her and said, “Ma’am, I must tell you the truth. Now would be a good time for us to think of God and to pray.”

She looked straight at him and said, “Oh my God, has it come to that!”

Prayer, as a last resort, is traditional prayer. We MUST think of prayer FIRST, not last. We must think of prayer even ahead of the need.

We may have ideas of prayer as beseeching, or begging, and we also may have used a prayer in the past, that bargains with God; that is actually manipulative. “I will do something for You, God, and You, God will do something for me.”

What about the kind of prayer that moves God’s real power through us?

What about the kind of prayer that gives us power to live our lives better, happier, more fully, with all the Divine help provided?

Prayer is a source of luminous, and self-generating energy. Prayer is accumulative – growing in you. It pays interest, with new God-given spiritual power.

POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER:

Dear God, in my awareness this moment I open myself to You.
I pray for Your wisdom and insight.
I pray for Your energy to energize my being.
I pray that I always remember and recall that at all times I am one with You.
You are my source of continuous blessing.
You are the love that I feel and express at the highest moments of living.
Thank You God for everything.

During a New Jersey jury selection, the judge is picking a jury for a drug distribution case. He starts by asking, “Is there anyone here that can’t participate in this particular case?”

A lady in the back of the jury selection pool raises her hand and says, “Judge, I can’t be on this jury because of my occupation.”

The judge inquires, “Madame, what is it that you do?

“The lady answer, “Your honor, I’m a soothsayer.”

The judge responds, “Alright, so exactly how does that prevent you from sitting on this jury?”

1. I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and think, “Well, that’s not going to happen”.

2. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

3. I’m not 40-something. I’m $39.95, plus shipping and handling.

4. How is it that one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

5. Doctors can be frustrating. You wait a month-and-a-half for an appointment, and she says, “I wish you’d have come to me sooner.”

Happiness is the way:

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another.

Then we’re frustrated that the kids aren’t old enough and we’ll be more content when they are.

After that, we’re frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We’ll certainly, be happy when they’re out of that stage.

We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.

The truth is, there’s no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? …

Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It’s best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D’Souza. He said, “For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness.

Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting …

until you finish school,
until you go back to school,
until you lose ten pounds,
until you gain ten pounds,
until you have kids,
until your kids leave the house,
until you start work,
until you retire,
until you get married,
until you get divorced,
until Friday night,
until Sunday morning,
until you get a new car or home,
until your car or home is paid off,
until spring,
until summer,
until fall,
until winter,
until you’re off welfare,
until the first or fifteenth,
until your song comes on,
until you’ve had a drink,
until you’ve sobered up,
until you die,
until you’re born again
to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy.

You can become a peacemaker – the most valuable asset to any organization.

Our positive prayer for today: Let there be peace in my workplace and let it began with me.

You do your part toward achieving workplace peace first by establishing it within yourself. By aligning yourself with the peace of Christ, you maintain true peace of mind. As you remain peaceful within, you are able to respond in love and wisdom.

When you keep your mind and heart centered in the Christ, peace flows from you and allows you to be a peacemaker in your workplace. Your prayer today is a declaration for workplace peace. You help establish and maintain a peaceful working environment as you think, speak, and act in peace. You encircle your workplace with peace.

Your work can be a way of expressing your God-given talents and abilities. A peaceful environment fosters creativity in all the work there is. As you work with others, you acknowledge that you are each coworker’s for God. Then you bring your best to your work and the best work to yourself.

A peaceful environment in your workplace will bring the expression of Divine ideas. God undergirds your work with inspiration, strength, and wisdom that will enable you to realize satisfaction, and a deep sense of purpose.

You bless your work with the positive, cheerful attitude. As you do, no activity in your workplace, or home seems tedious. You think of yourself and those that you work with as coworkers with God. You feel close to them because you are working together toward a common goal or achievement.

Prayer fosters peace, therefore you go into every meeting prayer prepared.

You bless with loving consideration your work with your employers, coworkers, clients and customers, and the work you do you will bless everyone in return.

Dear God, let there be peace in my workplace and let it begin with me.
I pray that I am an active channel of your Divine peace.
I pray that it will be absolutely impossible for anyone to be in my presence and not feel Your peace.

Show me what to do, what to say, and when to do something that will bring peace, and a lasting change to my work environment.

Ask for the blessing of the Lord.

When God blesses your life, it stays blessed. God can give you an idea that can transform your entire life and change failure to lasting and ever-expanding success.

All existing forms of blessings were once ideas. Every blessing idea was acted upon in some way before God’s blessing manifested. All the blessing of God that is, or that is yet to be, originates in the Divine ideas and the rich resources of your own God. You tap this abundant, eternal resource through prayer, and draw your blessing to you by implementing the ideas that God gives personally to you.

God’s blessing is important to everyone, for through it you are able to express and experience more of this great life that you have been given. Also, through your blessings received you are able to be a blessing to others in your world. Welcome and accept God’s blessing this day knowing that it is God’s will for you.

God does not limit you; you are the one that limits yourself. You are not defined by your failures unless you allow yourself to be. You are defined not by your falling down but by your getting up. You are not defined by your fears, but by your perseverance. You are not defined by your mistakes, but by your corrections.

This day, you pray for Divine ideas to fill your life, and your mind. You pray for God bless your life with an idea that is filled with genius beyond the limitations of human thinking.

In the silence of prayer, let us turn to God as the source of our prosperity and open our minds and hearts to receive the rich blessings of God’s resources. You will be filled with prospering ideas that you use to enrich your life this week.

“For you shall go out in joy and be led back in peace.”
Isaiah 55:12

Spending time with God is more than going to church – it is immersing yourself in God’s creation and allowing that awareness to soak deeply into your soul.

A few years ago, I met a man, I will call Harold for this piece. He had just been laid off from his job at 59 years of age. He was in despair, almost inconsolable.

I prayed with him, and I was led in prayer to tell him to go camping. I told him camping doesn’t cost anything, or very little. I asked him to get into nature and the focus as much as he was able on God’s beauty.

Harold protested, arguing that he had too much to worry about, to do something silly like that.

Harold became one of my success stories. Or, more correctly said, one of God’s success stories – because it was God completely, that lead me to give him this advice.

Harold did go camping, for the first couple days he spent the most miserable days of his life. Then something changed as the beauty overtook him. The wonder of God was so intense, it could not be overlooked, even from someone temporarily blinded by their misfortune.

Harold is now employed doing something completely different, and he is a success in more ways than one.

A few days spent with God alone, immersed, and saturated in God’s beauty turned his whole life around. He was later even able to admit how miserable he was before in his old career. He now counts it as one of his greatest blessings that he was laid off, instead of spending the rest of his life in partial misery.

We get so busy in life we forget to look at what really matters.

When you look at the vastness of the ocean or stand at the foot of a towering mountain, you are often awestruck by the power and glory of God. You feel a specially filled with a reverence when you realize that the Divine energy which created such majesty – also created you.

As you consider the beauty and greatness of natural wonders, you could feel insignificant in comparison. However, you realize that nothing could be further from the truth. You are not insignificant at all!

You are important and unique, for you, too, are God’s creation.

This understanding fills you with a deep sense of joy and peace that lingers like the pleasing aroma of a flower garden. As you live each day in the joy and peace naturally within you, you remember who you are – a creation of the Almighty.

The beauty of a rainbow arching across the sky after a rain shower is a wonder that captures everyone’s attention. Yet, such a stunning sight is composed of apparently colorless droplets of water – until they are caught in the light of the sun.

Each droplet that makes up the rainbow remains a particle of water. The physical aspect of it has not changed; the mere addition of sunlight has caused all to see its potential.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” You can reflect beautiful light in your life – -the light of God. As you reflect the joy and the peace of God that come through knowing the presence of God, your true potential can be seen.

Spiritually decide to become joyful. This day go out in joy realizing that God goes ahead of you, and you will be led back to where you started with absolute peace.

God’s majesty is all around you, however, realize that you are God’s greatest work of majesty. The Creator created each one of us unique and special. We are individualized expressions of the greatness of God.

We are needed. We have each been given unique talents, different bodies, different minds, and different souls. We have free will to co-create, invent, and produce unique beauty with our one-of-a-kind fingerprint placed upon it.

Make a commitment to making your life a joyful journey, enjoying the road less traveled by becoming aware of the beauty around you, and within you. We pray that you experience God’s peace as you walk this high path of awareness.

“Even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me fast.”
Psalm 139:10

This moment is one of the greatest moments of our lives. Truly, the high point of any life is prayer. It is a time when we rise above human mind and all of its problem thoughts, and turn to the Mind of God, and all of Its solution thoughts.

In so doing, we find heaven and we find a new awareness of everything in our lives.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

In Matthew 5:25, Jesus said, “Agree with thine adversary quickly.” In prayer, we now take the initial step by agreeing with any adversary in our lives. Something we might not be able to do with human mind alone, we can do in this higher spiritual state – this prayer consciousness we are in now.

Through the power of God, we stop thinking that we have an adversary. If, in our human mind, we see our world as filled with enemies or pitfalls, we are not seeing aright. We rise above that consciousness, spiritually.

If some person or situation causes us to feel unloved or unsure, we rise above that consciousness.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

We no longer forget our true identity as a child of God. In this moment of prayer, we reconnect. We are children of God. We are beloved of God. We are sustained and supported by a loving Presence–the power of God. Nothing can keep our God-given good from us, and no one can keep our happiness from us.

We realize in this moment in time that our happiness is from God and we accept it.

The first person we agree with, in prayer, is ourselves.

A new understanding dawns on our entire life; a spiritual understanding dawns. If you have an experience that keeps coming back to your human mind to haunt you – ask for a healing of that now.

Ask for God-love to infill your consciousness and the space that is called your human brain with new spiritual insight and vision.

Rest in the silence of prayer …

“Agree with thine adversary quickly.” Let us consider, in prayer, the word “quickly.” Many times, disagreements and differences have festered in our human minds. Sometimes, we have allowed, in our thinking, those thoughts to become exaggerated and out of proportion. We ask, this day, for a healing of this. Dear God, bring my problems down to size. Minister to me in their reduced size. Help me to see aright this moment – that I am not alone, that You are with me, and together, we are a majority over any problem.

You are one, this day, with the Mind of God. You are no longer like a frightened child. You are a child of the living God. Your mind and your heart are open to this light. This is the time, right now, in your life to firmly establish your faith that all things work together for good, and that God is able to turn every challenging experience into a blessing.

Yes, from our human mind we may not see how, but that is not for us to see in this moment. It is for us – to have faith, because there is a greater Mind that is working in us, through us, and around us.

We relax.

We let go.

We let God.

Relax for a moment in the presence of God, in the silence of prayer.

Dear God, we agree with our adversaries. With Your help, we withdraw emotional and physical support from any dispute that is taking place in our human minds. The spiritual power of letting go of control to God, instead of trying desperately to hold on with our human self, is the intelligent and safe way to live.

The people that read Positive Daily Inspiration do not come from one church, but many; isn’t it wonderful that people of God can come together in love – not divided by differences – but brought together by our common love of God?

All religions are like spokes on the wheel leading to the one hub – God! As people of faith we must not divide ourselves into separate camps, but come together in love. If God is love, then we must worship in love.

Part of the benefit of a spirituality is to let go and let God.

Author Mary Kupferle, wrote eloquently, “It is safe to let go, because you have a God Who is bigger than your problems.” It is safe to release your concerns to a higher power. Sometimes problems need to be solved from a higher level of mind than our own.

It is safe to give God your deepest thoughts and feelings, and your greatest concerns and anxieties. It is safe to give your mind, heart, being, and your world as you know it to God, for your security is in God.

You will find peace of mind that passes human understanding when you give ALL to the substantial and dependable presence of God.

Begin to practice this acceptance by affirming in prayer: “It is safe for me to let go and let God! Wherever I am, I am safe in God’s love.”

Whatever you have been holding onto for the fear of losing, know that the safest thing you can do is to turn everything over to God, who has, in truth, given it all to you in the first place. God is the giver who never takes away anything good. God offers another opportunity for life to come into expression. God, who has given life to all, never removes that gift. Your life is eternally safe and secure in God’s plan. God’s gift of living is an eternally established plan that no human circumstance can ever destroy. You, as part of this “holy life plan,” are an ever-renewing ever-unfolding expression of God’s infinite life, and so are all those for whom you our concerned. That life plan includes everyone willing to accept it, and it permits freedom of choice and development for each.

In the midst of challenges facing you, even in the midst of the most troubling moments of the day or night, God’s love is surrounding you. You may not know how the needed inner peace and assurance will come, but be assured it will!

It is safe for you to let go and give everything to God. In this surrender, you are placing yourself and those for whom you are concerned in the security of God’s love and wisdom. God’s plan of love and good for your life will provide the highest and best avenues of life activity, not only in this moment, but in the continuing processes of living. It is safe for you to place yourself in this spiritual realm any time you need to feel secure, centered, assured in and about life.

As you gave up your place of physical security and safety within your mother’s womb, you took your place in life. Your growing soul awareness has been in a constant flux of releasing the times and places in conditions of completed learning. You have received ever progressing opportunities for God’s plan of life to unfold within you and around you.

Jesus Christ reminds us that spiritual things are to be spiritually discerned. He tells us that because we are basically spiritual beings, the offspring of God, the only way to understand ourselves, or life, is to look at everything with spiritual discernment.

Though you and I may not fully understand the vastness of life, the fullness of God’s plan, continual assurance of peace is given to us as we let go and release all to the love and wisdom of God.

Here again some of Jesus words of comfort:

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

“What person of you, if their child asks them for bread, will give the child a stone? … How much more will your God … give good things to those who ask God!”

This is something to think about when negative people are doing their best to rain on your parade. So, remember this story the next time someone who knows nothing and cares less tries to make your life miserable.

A woman was at her hairdresser’s getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome with her husband.

She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded:

“Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It’s crowded and dirty. You’re crazy to go to Rome.

So, how are you getting there?”

“We’re taking United,” was the reply. “We got a great rate!”

“United?” exclaimed the hairdresser. “That’s a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they’re always late.

So, where are you staying in Rome?”

“We’ll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome’s Tiber River called Teste.”

“Don’t go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks it’s going to be something special and exclusive, but it’s really a dump.”

“We’re going to go to see the Vatican and maybe get to see the Pope.”

“That’s rich,” laughed the hairdresser. You and a million other people trying to see him. He’ll look the size of an ant.”

“Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You’re going to need it.”

A month later, the woman again came in for a haircut. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome.

“It was wonderful,” explained the woman, “not only were we on time in one of United’s brand-new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot.

“And the hotel was great! They’d just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it’s a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner’s suite at no extra charge!”

“Well,” muttered the hairdresser, “that’s all well and good, but I know you didn’t get to see the Pope.”

“Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I’d be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me.

“Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me.”

“Oh, really! What’d he say?”

He asked: “Who messed up your hair?”

This poetry was written by a teenage girl, terminally ill with cancer in a New York Hospital. This was sent in by her medical doctor in 2001. Since then it has had quite an impact going around the world several times on the Internet –

“SLOW DANCE”

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask, “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores

Dear God, as a child I used to pray for things to move faster.
I used to pray for everything to be realized sooner.
Now, in the wisdom of my years, I am aware that I have missed a great deal of the ordinary blessings of life.
